Shota visibly frowned as she began to place random items into his basket. He peered into his basket to see a few vegetables and fruits, what was she playing at here? He listened to her explanations as he looked over each item...hearing her comment about his quirk, Shota lifted an eyebrow at this. So she knows of his quirk, which isn't that big of a surprise, but still...for her to actually put his eye condition into mind while picking out the items was a bit...abnormal. He never really encountered anyone this considerate before so it was a bit baffling for the dark-haired pro hero.
Despite her thoughtfulness, a small sigh escaped his lips as he merely responded back, "yeah yeah...I'll cook something...edible." He wasn't that lazy, but at times he's just so tired that he rather not even cook. Just boiling the water for the instant ramens were a hassle at times! Of course, he wouldn't go telling Uede this as he could already sense that she was quite the one to nag. He looked off to the side, refraining from just making her cook for him. If she was giving him these items, then she might as well make it for him.
Shaking aside such thoughts, Shota slowly made his way around the grocery aisles, letting his eyes drawl around lazily for anything else to eat. Hearing her answer, Shota couldn't help but wonder if she was upset...well scratch that. His dark orbs glanced down to look into Uede's eyes, noticing the slight change in her tone of voice. Yeah, she's probably upset. He wasn't the kindest with his way of speaking nor did he sugar coat anything. Shota simply raised a hand and ruffled Uede's hair as he smirked lightly down at her, "I know that much Uede, I've seen you fight...it's just strange to not see you with Kurotsuki."
A little spark here and there, it wasn't bad for a student to have. It let Shota know that she had what it takes to grow and a hero she will become. He knew she had potential and was glad she won't go down in the dumps just with a few words that may have come off a bit too harsh. He looked about the store before letting out a sigh, shopping was such a drag at times...but...looking over at the pouting Uede, Shota shook his head, he might as well stay around for this. Holding out his basket, Shota nudged it towards Uede as he simply stared down at her while saying, "you might as well pick the food out for me." He didn't mean it in a bad way, he just wasn't really in the mood to shop, but he knew he needed to buy food.
He smirked lightly at her as he said, "you seem like you're good at this sort of stuff." He was teasing her of course, but hey who said he can't crack a joke or two?

Ruka stared out into the park as she listened to his opinions about Persephone. Hmm..." coveted huh..." she murmured aloud softly as her eyes never left staring out into the pond. Perhaps he was right...Persephone was able to treasure her time on Earth more due to the misery she spent half the year in the underworld, but was she really unhappy there? He was right in saying that everyone had their own opinions though a wry smile came upon her lips as he mentioned how there was no way Persephone can outright fall in love with Hades. Perhaps she just wasn't able to love her own self...her own abilities.
Ruka perceived herself as Persephone in a sense, yet hearing those words from another was a bit...painful in a sense. Perhaps it just allowed Ruka to see how things really are...to know that her way of thinking wasn't wrong. She glanced over at Todoroki as he mentioned his hobbies. He didn't get to indulge in them during his childhood much...? The way he said it made it sound like his childhood wasn't pleasant. Well, to everyone their own she supposed. Ruka didn't exactly have such a great childhood, especially after awakening her quirk, but everyone was different. She tilted her head to the side as she didn't expect him to like poetry though a small smile was found on her lips. It was unexpected, but not a bad thing.
She blinked a few times as he directed a question her way. Did she like any poems or epics? She looked up thoughtfully as she watched the petals fly from the cherry blossom tree above them as she finally spoke up, "I do quite like poetry and epics. I love all sorts of writing styles." She smiled over at him as she continued, "I think every writing style is unique and allows us to see into the writer's heart. But...I'm not very good at writing poetry myself aha." She rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. She has tried before and it never really ended well.
Looking ahead, Ruka couldn't help but wonder aloud, "what is your favorite poem Todoroki-san?" She was curious to know what and how he perceived poetry. Perhaps he has his own favorite, for what reason? Well, she wouldn't know until she asked. She glanced over at Todoroki as she grinned, "I'm glad to have met another avid reader, finally someone can listen to me rant while knowing what I'm talking about." She always ranted about her favorite stories to Mela, but she knew Mela wasn't as big of a fan of mythology and such as Ruka was. Speaking of Mela...Ruka can only hope she made it home alright. She hoped no one was bugging her or anything, a sudden image of Aizawa-sensei popping into mind.
