Dreamer
"Ring around the rosie,
A pocket full of posy,
Ashes, Ashes..."
"Look, there,"
"Yes, what a truly sad soul."
"A mind too broken to accept what is."
"They think they're one of them."
"But they're really one of us."
"And that one."
"The Witch?"
"They know too much,"
"Death hangs over them like a dark cloud."
"More than they were ever meant to see."
"Don't look."
"The Dreamer."
"Dangerous."
"One not bound by the rules of this world."
"Their nightmares will eat all of us alive."
"An omen is near,"
"Good, or bad?"
"The line whispers to them,"
"Even the trees fear their power."
"Our undoing walks before us."
"Unsettling,"
"The Dream"
"Hollow, but still alive."
"A puppet who cut its strings."
"I can't see what it wants."
A pocket full of posy,
Ashes, Ashes..."

Ruler Of The Ley-Lines[ Skryx ]
The Ruler was born with a strong connection to ley-lines, an invisible network of energy lines that run all over the Earth. These lines are the source of everything magical, and without them, magic and everything relying on it would disappear. The Ruler doesn't have access to that power, but is the only one who can see the lines, and amplify any around them.
They have an affinity for wildlife and can talk to ghosts. The ley-lines speak to the Ruler, and often asks them to move objects out of the way that might be disrupting the line (If someone dug a hole over a line, they would be asked to fill it back up, or if a car was abandoned and no one was coming back for it, the Ruler would be asked to move it out of the way). They were attracted to Harwood by the abnormally strong line cutting through the middle of the town. The weaker the line, the weaker the Ghost and the Dream become.
Though, the Ruler has a secret. If they die, magic dies with them.
The Witch[ Dover ]
The Witch can see the future. They come from a long line of powerful magic users, and have lived in Harwood their entire life. While they can see the future, they have only been able to see bits and pieces of what hasn't happened yet, or different ends to the same event.
Though, by the start of the RP, someone else has caused the Witch to lose their power to see the future. If they try to see what will happen, they will only get static.
The Witch has a secret. The clearest vision they ever had of the future was the death of three people they never met before (because they go to public school, while the others go to private school, being in different social circles, etc).
The Dreamer[ r e i ]
The Dreamer has the power to pull objects out of their dreams and into reality. They can even pull people from their dreams, or if someone close to them has died, bring the version of them they remember back to life.
However, the bigger/more complex object the Dreamer pulls out of their dreams, the more power it drains from the ley-line, and by extension, the Ruler (If the Dreamer creates a dragon, for instance, the Ruler would probably go into shock). Plus, if the Dreamer dies, everything they've ever dreamed loses the ability to function. The Dreamer has lived in Harwood for a long time.
The Dreamer has two secrets. The first is that while they have full control over their dreamss, they have none over their nightmares, made stronger by Harwood's ley-line. The other is that there are people looking for them. While Dreamers are rare, their existence isn't a secret. These people call themselves Dream Hunters and they want to use the Dreamer for their power. They don't care about what happens to the line or the people attached to it.
The G̶h̶o̶s̶t̶[ Ridge ]
The Ghost doesn't know they're dead. Even if some part of them realizes the truth, it's buried under layers and layers of denial. The Ghost unknowingly uses the line as a battery to keep themselves as 'real' as possible, and because of its magic and their connection to it, they can open doors and other people can see them.
The Ghost was born in Harwood.
The Ghost has a secret they don't know about. They were murdered on the Harwood ley-line.
The Dream[TAKEN]
The Dream only recently moved to Harwood with his adoptive parents.
He has a secret. He's looking for a coin, rumored to very first object created with the magic of the line. Once found, one only has to flip the coin to have their deepest desire granted. The Dream wants to be real.
If enough people are interested, I'll add Dream Hunters.
On the outside, Harwood looks like a typical Small Town™, where nothing noteworthy every happens and everyone knows each other. In fact, the only time Harwood was ever in the public eye was in 2004, when a bored scientist wrote a brief article on the town's Firefly Forest, which attracts an unusual amount of the bugs each night.
Despite having a population with a little over 1,600, Harwood has two schools. A private school for the parents that can afford the extremely high tuition, and a public school for those that can't. As a result, the town is divided between the rich and the not-rich, and the two groups rarely interact, let alone speak to each other. The only times when they speak are in the library, because there's only one.
Harwood has two main forests; Firefly Forest and Dead Forest. The former is in the upper half of town, while the latter is in the lower-income half. Being directly on the ley-line, Firefly Forest is filled with strong magic that attracts insects and wildlife, but it's extremely easy to lose track of time in there. There are even a few rumors floating around that a few people went in and never came out.
In 1876, the area of the Dead Forest was paved over and made into the town's graveyard. By the end 1877, all the trees that had been cut down had grown back to full size, except they were twisted and warped, like those that had been buried there had a hand in creating them. They were repeatedly cut down so more graves could be added, but they kept coming back and eventually they gave up. This is where the ghosts live. Dead Forest resides on a branch of the Harwood line.
Every once in a while, an incident report is filed at the communal police station, about the sightings of strange creatures described as being something out of a nightmare. There police have even investigated an attack, but there was no traces of anything other than blood when they got to the crime scene.
In less than six months, the Witch knows that the Ruler, the Dreamer, and the Dream will all be dead. And they might be too. The Witch was never supposed to see it, but they have, and now they have the chance to prevent it. What will they do?
A magic coin can be useful to the right hands, devastating in the wrong one. The Dream is willing to do anything to find the coin, even if he has to use other people to do it. And yet still, a darker force has also been looking for the coin, even though no one has ever seen it for themselves and there's barely any evidence that it even exists. This dark force is willing to anything to find it too, and has. The Ghost is evidence of this.
Some Dream Hunters want Dreamers for themselves, others act as bounty hunters hired by other people. None of them know about the Ruler. But if someone found out about them, they would be hunted too. And the combined power of the Ruler and the Dreamer with someone who shouldn't have it could cause unimaginable chaos.
This RP will be heavily character driven. Only the Ghost can be the friend of someone before the start. The beginning will be less fantasy and more about building relationships and the slow introduction of plot elements. If you expect action from the first post, then this probably isn't the RP for you.]
