You get base stats based on whatever your character did before everything became the toybox of beings who find you amusing
Those stats can be increased with either points won by completing scenarios or you can use coins which come from either scenarios or trading with official traders

Your Divine Sponsor can also provide bonuses to certain stats depending on their sphere of influence
