“Lara Croft?” Aeon called out, maintaining a defensive posture. “Universe Correction Agency. We’re not out to hurt y—Ew...!” She cut off mid-sentence as the slime climbed up her leg. Her hand batted the creature away before it retreated into the facility.
“Never heard of it, but I also didn’t know secret agents still went for the black leather look,” Lara snarked while circling the room to retrieve her pistols. “Though... you may be able to help. This job offer didn’t sit right with me, which is why I came to find this relic.” She proceeded to unfurl the scroll once again, showing them its contents. “This scratched-out word is ‘your’, I believe. ‘Your world’.”
HUNK reacted swiftly as the creature lurched deeper into the facility. He followed behind it, but stopped and turned back before he let himself leave the knight’s sight. “What the hell was that? A symbiote?” he mumbled. “I’ve got a bad feeling about this…”

Leo followed the children through the portal, springing through with his sword raised in front of them. Having heard the declaration, he raised another gem. This one reacted differently, though; its earthy color faded into an intense red. “I learned something new,” he stated to his comrades. “Any of my world’s six spirits can be channeled through these gems… Behold! GORANDA!”
The fire serpent’s power was unleashed once again, the columns rising to incinerate the branch on which the creature was perched. “Is this truly how the legendary Dark Knight wishes to fall? Let us help you! Seek justice, damn you! Return to aid those who need you!” Following his plea, he nodded to Frank. “Give me the serum.”

Instead of hopping back, Lucia rushed to meet the giant creature, bringing up her Devil Arms to parry the downward blow. A surge of magic wind from Rudra aided her effort. She quickly followed up with a fiery swing from Agni, chained into a double strike that sent a wave of power along the ground. “You are NOT Sonic! Show your true self, devil!”

The remaining three members dealing with the sudden charge of the hostile 'Sonic' insectoid had little else to do as they scrambled in an evasive roll away from the creature's massive fists. Being one of the first to recover, Ellie brought her MA5K to bear as she unleashed a hail of fully automatic fire at the creature's glazed-over eyes. Felix began to backstep; retrieving his Grenade Rifle into his hands as he leveled the weapon's sights onto the beast's center mass. Jack regrouped over by Hailey, bumping his shoulder pauldron against hers. "Good shooting. Status on the other one?"
"It retreated."
"Assist the others; I'll handle the bastard."
Hailey nodded; breaking into a sprint and firing toward the massive Sonic-imposter as Jack proceeded to trail the faint, grey blip that appeared to be snaking its way around the area. Pulling his dual M7 Submachineguns into his hand, he wasted no time in slowly advancing upon the blip's position.

The Knight followed the creature too, seeing it enter the other room. "I do not know where in hell these things have come from...but I fear we must follow." He lifts up the head he was carrying, the eyes flickering around that general direction.
Cugai and Fugai watched, looking at the note, scratching their chins. "Hmmm..." Fugai said. "There's no way he hired Laura Craft to look for anything, he's got a Universe chunk in hand. Plus, it's a regular human being, not some eldritch abomination."
"Lara Croft." Cugai corrected. "This may be a stretch, but you think, with what's down there, he just sent a random victim to see what he's dealing with?"
"Crazy, but from what we're dealing with.." Fugai looked up. "..buuuuuut, we do probably need her to come along. Now with HUNK found, and the Knight in our grasp, this is a perfect chance for us to get our guy."
Then, Cugai looked over to see a stash of paper on a rolling table. They had writing on them, but they were in a language that wasn't in English. Cugai leaned closer to the screen, and knew what he was looking at. "Inkling?"
"Oooooooooooooooh" Fugai said. "Explains....nothing."
Cugai leans back, Callie and Marie were sitting on the table near by. "Hey, can one of you come see this?"
Callie was the first to look up at the brothers, Marie too occupied with her laptop. She got up and walked over to the two. "Sure!" Callie proclaimed. "Something spooky?"
"We found the Knight, and an extra, but they seem to have wondered into some kind of hospital...an Inkling hospital. Does it look familiar?" Cugai asked.
Callie leaned to get a look. She looked puzzled. "Nope. Never seen anything like this. How do you know it's an Inkling hospital?"
"Paperwork, said something about some kind of disease..." Cugai said. "Aeon, this is Cugai. We believe the tomb had merged with a hospital for Inklings and Octolings, but something bad must of been held there. I don't think that thing on your leg was the last of them. Keep your eyes peeled, and keep the other three close."
The Knight had walked into the room. It was a huge corridor, similar to the previous one, only this one was far bigger, a cold chill flooding it. Like the previous one, it had containment cells that showed the inside through a sliding glass door, but what each held was gone. In the room, there were more of the living globs, but many displayed unsettling features. Many had eyeballs that were void of color, a single pupal being all that was there. some had blackened hands, legs, even mouths that were sticking out of the globs. The globs stuck to the wall at the back end of the room, moving in a single, unnerving hivemind. The Knight slowly walked toward this sight to behold, looking down to see a young woman. Her once white tentacles where splotched with black polka dots. Her fair skin was pale, both of her hands were turned into piles of black goop. Her entire lower half was the same. She looks up to the Knight, her eyes and mouth were leaking the fluid, but she had tears rolling down as well. It was Marie...
Goret smirked. "Course I did. Takes a lot more than that to take me down. Now, I bet you losers are sick of seeing me. Feeling's mutual, really. So, here's the deal; this time, we really kill each other. Because if I have to keep dealing with you goddamn freaks every time I hop into another universe, I'm going to eat every one of you." With that, Goret's muscles expand a smidge as his power increases. "Now, lemme show you something I've been holding back for a while." Goret let's out a loud, animalistic yell as his body is engulfed in a wave of energy. Goret is surrounded by a white aura, his hair standing like his Super Saiyan form, but it was white.
"Yeah, yeah, nothing special, just another power up." Goret said. "Now, let's get this over with."
Marina could be herd panicking in the coms. "Aaaaaaaa! Guys! Hold on! We need an extraction team!"
From behind, Pearl watched as Marina became stressed. "Yo, Rina, you wanna get someone else to watch over?"
"Uh! Uuuuuh! Nono, I got this, Pearlie. We've f-fought him twice before, we can beat him..."
"Rina." Pearl said. "I can go get someone else-"
"No!" Marina said, panicked, before breathing. "I can do this, Pearlie. If we catch him, we don't need to worry about him anymore....In fact, we can just catch Goret, and the Knight can just be forgotten about."
"...Ok, but if this blows up, don't get mad if I say "I told you so...""
The giant Sonic reeled back after Lucia blocked, holding his arm up as the flaming attack struck him. The fur on his arm was burnt off, showing a metal endoskeleton underneath. It lowers its arm as the bullets came flying, striking around it's face. A few made their mark, striking the eye, causing it to scurry away. "Fine! If YOU wanna be it so bad, than you're it!" It then runs over to the wall, crawling up to the second floor, then running up to the ceiling. "YOU CAN"T CATCH MEEEEE!!!!"
As Jackson separated away from the group, the little creature kept moving around, as if he was leading him away from the group. When it feels they're far enough away, it leaps out to Jackson, grabbing into his torso like a koala. It's inner mouth shot out multiple times, it's needle like teeth scrapping against Jackson's metal helmet. It seems to have trouble cracking the egg, it's teeth surprisingly sturdy against the metal.

The little fucker was quicker than expected, that was for damn sure. Even with the slippery surface of the MJOLNIR's shields, the thing managed to cling on to his torso attempting to breach the visor of his helmet. Dropping his M7 from his left hand, he quickly went to find purchase around the thing's throat. If he managed to secure a grip, Jackson would waste no time in sticking the barrel of the SMG into the maw of the creature before depressing the trigger; hopefully shredding through its mouth as the recoil began to kick the weapon up through the creature's face and head.
As soon as the bigger Sonic-thing ran up and off, the remaining three members of the fireteam tracked its movements as it scaled the ceiling, but held their fire. Instead, they toggled their helmet lights to illuminate the last known positions on the massive beast; careful to not let any uncovered flank turn into an ambush as they repeatedly switched between covering the ceiling, the sides, and the floor. If there's one thing they had that gave them an edge, it was their motion sensor. However, even the sensor wasn't going to tell the exact position of the targets it tracked.

With that, Man-Batman flew into the "sky" flying right back down into his body. Within the real world, Man-Batman shot back up, screaming once more. With his body restored, he darts away from the lot, wanting to get away, flying with incredible speed, before stopping into the deepest part of the woods, it thrashed around like it was swarming with flies, slashing around like mad.
Before anyone could touch the creature, a man covered in black and red armor burst forth from the depths of the forest, shooting Man Batman in the back with his blaster before a floating titan of great mass came hurtling around from the front. It looked an awful lot like Akira's Legion creatures, and as a matter of fact the man in question seemed to wear armor like hers as well like some kind of dark mirror.
The Arms Legion body tackled Man Batman, wrestling with the beast for a bit before it landed a bone cracking left hook, stunning the beast. Ensnaring him in unbreakable red chains of pure Astral energy, the mysterious man changed to his Sword Legion, and the two rushed Man Bat, carving into him with a lightning fast series of slashes and brutal melee attacks too fast for the normal human eye to see. With one final blow, the man and his Legion struck Man Bat with a brutal cross slash, the two landing on either side of the villain as he promptly exploded in a shower of light energy, not a single trace of him left behind.

Man-Batman screeches as the Legion tackles the creature, it's back burning from the previous blast. As they rolled on the ground, Man-Batman snapped it's wings, stabbing them into the Legion with extreme ferocity, before it is punched. The beast tries to get away, but the chains prevent the creature from escaping. Then, as the beast tries to rip itself apart to get away, it's entire body is reduced into nothing but molecules of red energy.

The robots had two abilities: to shoot lightning at their foes, to summon forcefields, the other two robots had already taken the Australium only to be teleported back by zork using the teleportation device.

Storm was one of those women with proverbial balls of steel, and she was tired of this menace returning. She raised a hand and clenched it into a fist. Lightning danced between the clouds and her hand for a moment. The charge lingered in her palm as she manipulated it, coating her fists in it. “That sounds perfect,” she retorted with a stone face.
A huge flash of lightning erupted between them. Between the light and sound, it was enough to stun most. Storm was gone in that flash, re-emerging with two punches that unleashed the charges of lightning she held.

Realizing they’d make terrible spotters, Lucia slapped the tape back over their mouths and continued amidst Fireteam Maverick. She gravitated towards the gunshots, which she assumed were from Jack.

Kain was stunned by what happened in the astral plane that he didn't see nor hear the man-bat die. Slowly getting up and dusting off himself he walked through the portal Frank created and saw the commotion, not seeing man-bat insight he saw a new person, cyborg looking that was standing. He walked over to Leo.
"I'm guessing from everybody's reaction that Man-Bat's dead?"

Bringing you the story of heroes.
The imposter let out an inhuman, groggy roar as the gun blasted inside of it's mouth. The force of the gun actually ripped the skin around the left "hand" of the creature. It falls back, crashing onto the ground. It lifts it's head, a portion of the skin around the eye was gone, showing what lay underneath; red chitin, like a crustacean, the eye was a literal bulging sphere, attached to a now protruding stem. It's head was covered with it's thick yellow blood, it's exposed had looked as if tiny crab legs made up it's entire hand, wrapped by extra chitin. It slowly stands to look at the man, growling, it's hunger made it no longer care about pretending to be Sonic.
It leaps away, grabbing a wooden bench near by, tossing it at the Spartan. It then leaps to the upper floor, where the giant Sonic leaped down, smashing the ground. "LET'S PLAY CATCH!!!" Using his speed, he runs sideways, tossing all the junk he can towards the lot, laughing as he does so.
At HQ, Pepperjack sat back, sighing as the new enemy came in. Aw well, no big loss. Pepperjack leans in to give the speak to his team, only to stop when CiMos sent something to his monitor. What he saw made his eyes shrink in horror.
"I have other matters I need to watch over." Batman said. "Besides, I think Tony would be enough to assist."
"Hmm...Alright, but don't come crying if Tony won't shut up about it." Pepperjack smirked.
Batman said nothing, turning to the door to walk away.
"Ey!" Pepperjack called out again. Batman turned back to him. Pepperjack gave a thumbs up.
"Good luck. You gotta love her as much as you can."
Goret spun around, the first punch landing onto Goret's face, zapping him. He grabs onto the other fist, looking her in the eye. "Ooooo, I like you. Let's see how far you can push past a Saiyan's power!"
Goret threw himself away from Storm, before charging at her, throwing a barrage of punches toward her, ending the onslaught with a spinning kick, aimed toward her head.
On the ground, a portal opened, Terra, Bio Spark, and Eight all walking out. The three looked up to see the two battling in the sky.
"Right." Bio Spark said. "Let's get this suicide mission to a close." He points to Talim and Siegfried. "You two! We need to prepare some machines to help weaken Goret. Unless you're fighting him, come help us with it, will ya?"
At HQ, the three watching were shocked to see Marie there, especially Callie, who didn't expect to see her cousin not only looking horrible, but get shot. Fugai turned to her, grabbing her arm. "Hey, hey, it's all a bad dream, remember? Marie's over there, on the chair. She's ok....One of them is..."
Cugai had CiMos look into what they saw, translating the paperwork, and looking into every universe it can find. With it's research, it came back with something...interesting.
"Aeon, this is Cugai. it seems to be some kind of disease. Inkblot. CiMos says it's some kind of bioweapon, turns infected into goopy masses. I think one of them touched you before. You're not an Inkling or Octoling, so it can't effect you....but don't relax, I don't think these things are friendly.....knowing our luck."
The Knight sighed as Marie was put down. He turned to see if there were any more rooms for them to follow...there were none. It seems the flickering head had lead them to a dead end. No treasure, no bonfire, no Konahrik....nothing but a horrid room that reminded him that he himself cannot escape the hell that follows him.
"Callie?" Marie said, her skin having grown completely white. All around, the black slobs began to swarm behind Marie, eyes staring right at Callie with excitement. Finally, something to feast on.
"Marie, w-what's happening to you?...." Callie said, terrified.
From behind Lara, HUNK, and Aeon, the blobs crawled underneath their feet, one even crawling onto HUNK's back as a means to get over.
"I...! don't know....." Marie's voice was groggy, sounding like a death rattle escaping her mouth.
"You mustn't be here." The Knight said to Callie. "You will get infected by this rancid evil!"
"Did you do this to her!?" Callie yelled. "What did you do to her!?!"
"Wench!" The Knight yelled. "We found her like this! Brought here by an unspeakable evil!"
Callie growled as she turned back to her cousin. "Marie..." She approaches Marie.
"Stop!" The Knight yelled. "Stupid woman! Do you not see?! She's sick! You will become these hideous things if you touch her!"
"GRR! SHUT! UP!!!" Callie was freaking out. Marie needed help, and this...guy was shouting at her not to?
"Callie...." Marie spoke, weakly. Tears rolling down her eyes, as they lose color. "I....I'm scared...."
"Marie!" Callie grabbed Marie's arms, the ink began to grab onto Callie's arms as she pulled her cousin. "I-I can get you some help! D-Don't worry!"

"Y'sure you don't wan' a help?" Pepperjack asked, as Batman walked down the hall. The agents had left to battle Konahrik's starting forces, leaving Pepperjack, Cugai, and Fugai the only ones to watcb the mission."I have other matters I need to watch over." Batman said. "Besides, I think Tony would be enough to assist."

The Knight looked over. She was still alive. What thing had infected the young woman had seemingly made it hard for her to die. Her head leaked more of that stuff, her eyeball was being covered by it, but she reacted little to it. The Knight walked over to her, falling to one knee. He gives the girl a pitied look under his helmet. He then reaches for his broadsword, holding it to the sky. Marie watched the Knight, her scared, pained look not changing as he's about to throw it down.
STOP! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?
From the side, The Knight was pushed away from Marie, stumbling away, as a second woman appeared; Callie, a different one. She turns over to her cousin, the look of shock growing on her face.
