Fantasy Trouble In Amalur

If anyone has ever played the game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, this story is based off of that game, but you don’t need to have played the game to enjoy the story of this RP, as the game is simple to follow. It’s kind of a generic RPG; trolls, bandits, elves, mages, you know the sort. Our story would start after the ending of the game, and it goes something like this;
Years after the war with the Tuatha Deohn, the lands of Amalur were somewhat at peace; the war was brutal and took a toll on many lives, but it was over now and people could sleep with both eyes closed for the first time in a long time. The dark fae creatures that made up the Tuatha Deohn were now mostly killed or imprisoned. The armies of Amalur could also rest; men and women of war going home to their families or taking on contract jobs with guilds like the Warsworn or the Travelers. But little did the people of Amalur know, a new and more powerful threat was brewing under their noses…
Your character was at home with their father in the desert city of Adessa the day the attack came. It came quickly and without warning; hundreds of rogues clad in thin green armor, disappearing and reappearing all around the city, using stealth, agility and magic combined.

These were much more highly trained that the former threat of the Tuatha. The Tuatha had numbers, and hatred, but these new invaders had skill. The gnomes and scholars tried to stop them, but Adessa was hardly a theatre of war and they were no match for them, and they made ruin of the entire city within a day. Many were dead and more were missing. The rogues, who had already killed the majority of the army of Adessa, now seemed to be taking prisoners. They broke into every house that wasn’t already a pile of rubble and grabbed everyone still alive, including your character and their father. They were brought into the city’s center and forced to kneel down, and that’s when your character saw their leader, who had a grim, cruel smile on his face. He began to speak to the crowd in a monotone voice.

“Hello, gnomes and others. My name is Dystran Synclair, and from this point forward, Adessa and all of its surrounding territories belong to me and my Onslaught.” When he said the word “onslaught,” the bandits and rogues around him began to cheer and raise their weapons, indicating that they were the “onslaught.” He continued to speak.
“Right now, from this point forward, you will all be exiled. If any of you attempts to go into your home to grab any belongings, you will be killed. You must leave the city and it’s surrounding territories immediately, or you’ll suffer the fate of the gnomes that tried to protect you.”
When he said that, more rogues appeared, but these were dressed in yellow, and all of them were holding bows with arrows drawn and embued with some sort of dark magic.

They then began escorting everyone out. No one dared put up a fight; that was suicide.
The citizens began to set up camps in the desert and help each other with tents and other things, but everyone had nothing but the clothes on their backs and what little they could grab before being forced out. Your character’s father, within the confines of the tent, spoke thus; “I have a friend in Rathir, to the north. Get to him, and warn them of this threat. His name is Articus Ford, and he’s a guard there. On your way there, stop in Get to him quickly.”
So your character began their journey to deliver the message. On the way there, they encountered 2 young men who looked like they had also come from Adessa, except they still had their weapons. And that’s where our story starts.

This roleplay can either be romance or platonic, but the adventure aspect is there regardless. Let me know if you’re interested! 😁
