The forest changed around Sage as he ventured off into a new land. A familiar land. One where he had spilled blood at whilst his was too. A place where he met that kind knight, Harlow. This enchanted forest belonged to Zylf, the Horns. The God of Campaign and Strength. Sage would find himself moving through the forest, as the fairy made his way through, the fairy would hear memories of the past. He would hear Harlow's voice, " Beautiful! Absolutely Beautiful! " Harlow's voice echoed around Sage, there was an apparition in front of the fairy with the Knight Harlow and Sage when he had his previous body parts meeting before fading into obscurity. As Sage made his way deeper into the forest there would be the strange tree man and Sage fighting, with Sage cutting the tree in half as it fell over and disappeared into nothingness. Sage's battle with Fakelow then finally Sage taking Vrel who devastated the fairy in one swing, crashing earth into the small fairy. Then finally Sage getting his eye removed by Zylf herself, jabbing the twig into his socket which gave Sage his wooden eyepatch. Then Vrel chopping off Sage's leg. " You can fly. One leg will not be missed. " Zylf's beautiful voice rang.

Sage would make his way back to the center of the trees, where he first met Harlow at. Then a voice rang out in Sage's ears Once you've grown. Return to this place, next time I will not be so merciful. The voice echoed in his mind. The air was moving all around Sage, the canopy was continuous above Sage. A place of respite for what he would have to face once more, Sage would have to make his presence known to the God of Campaign.

Sage let out an exhale as he fluttered around the peaceful forest, watching the visions of the past flow by as the subtle multi-colored energy seeped from his bark patch like a wispy flame. This was it, this was what he had been training for for all this time, to come back here and get revenge for what he lost, and prove his honor and courage. So now, standing in the middle of the clearing atop his Zweihander, he stood on his one leg atop the handguard, shouting out to the air.

"ZYYYYLF! I'M HOOOOME! OPEN THE DOOOOOOR!" He called out to the open air, grabbing his blade and fluttering in place in preparation, waiting for the path to open before him so he could move towards the goddess and her champion to challenge the pair again. He did not seek any power from the goddess herself, only to prove he could overcome whatever was put before him, and if he gained more power in the process, that was just how it would go.

But for now, it was time to steel himself for his greatest challenge yet, his eye staring around the forest as he clutched his massive blade.

There was silence in the air for a moment as the air was still. " So, the fairy returns. Determined to prove his worth. Not to me. But to the world. To defy a God. " Zylf's voice rang out clear and true just a chuckle followed suit. In the center of the massive trees, there was a breeze of wind as a 3 foot figure appeared there, holding a large axe in both hands. Her head was hung over, bringing it up to stare at Sage, eyes blazing with fury. Vrel, Zylf's current Champion. " Prove your worth! " Zylf's voice rang out in a roar.

Vrel

" You came back. Show me what you can do. " The warrior took a couple steps forward while holding his axe handle. " Show me your strength. " The Boggle brought one hand up and beckoned him to come forth, to take her on.

Sage hefted his blade, a grin upon his face as he unsheathed it, the purple blade glinting in the light that shone through the trees, staring across the way at Vrel, a manic smile on his face. He had been waiting for this day, and now, it was time for revenge. "Of course I came back, before I had been using my sword like a baseball bat. Now, lets see what you can do against me with a real style!" He called back, his eye staring towards Vrel as he dashed forward, his blade drug behind him before suddenly hefting it up, grabbing the handle and swinging it down, before flipping himself in the air to suddenly change where the blade came from, swinging it towards Vrels open side rather than the telegraphed above attack, using a [Blood-Let]

[Blood Let] (Grade-C, 3 post cooldown)

With his first strike thrown out, he used the recoil to grip his blade, a gleeful smile on his face as he adjusted his grip, a shockwave ringing out as he took his true style, gripping the blade with one hand and using the other to keep himself steady, taking up the God-Slayers Blade Stance, as he rocketed forth, his eye patch blazing with a black tainted red and blue flame, granting him power beyond himself as he became [Lucky], using the technique he had developed Solely to kill Vrel, [That Which Will Bleed The Earth Dry], Keeping himself beneath the Handguard to act as a barrier between him and a counter attack

Actions: (Movement, Action, Action) [C grade abilities cooldown 3/3] [B-Grade Abilities 4/4] [Lucky uses 1/2]

Vrel twirled her axe above her for a moment as Sage charged forward, she took the handle into both hands and watched her opponent come to her. Vrel stood her ground as Sage came forth and swung his massive sword down at the boggle, Vrel knew she had to out might the fairy's incredible strength, although she herself was stronger. As Sage used his own ability to strike down at Zylf's Champion, she did not move and watched Sage's movements. The sword would swing into the side of Vrel, the boggle herself thrusted her axe head into his sword's attack with speed, following the opposite of Sage's attack, as both weapons connected there was a massive wave of powerful winds that flew off the colliding weapons while the earth below the two cracked. Vrel had not moved one stepped from the attack as Sage recoiled, Vrel did the same as she was readying her own attack. The boggle swung her axe in the same direction Sage had swung his sword, both ends of weapon met their targets, Sage's weapon slammed into the armor of Vrel, sinking deep while Sage would be caught by her axe. The head of her axe slammed into the ribcage of Sage, cutting through his armor and sinking into flesh. Sage's sword would do the same, while Sage's weapon found its mark. It did not kill her.

Vrel's blood was spilt across the ground just as Sage's was. The boggle coughed up blood as she ended up backing up, tearing her axe out of Sage's body, she growled in pain but stayed on her feet looking up at Sage. Holding her axe in both hands, Vrel held her weapon up high and roared loudly as it began to generate lightning and the earth around her began to float into the air slowly. Vrel let out a massive roar and slammed the axe down into the earth, there was a large explosion that would blow Sage away, but this also blew Vrel away. The two would find themselves okay, hurt but okay. Vrel stood up and held her axe that was now broken, she growled, her helmet was cracked that explosed one of her eyes. They were a sea blue as she tossed the axe and the handle away. The warrior began to slowly walk up towards Sage with clenched fists with a rage in her exposed eye. Sage would feel pain in his body, all over and in the wound, he had gained from the exchange with Vrel, her shockwave attack that had defeated Sage previously had destroyed her axe. Sage's weapon he would find out was broken from the shockwave and his armor also cracked, Vrel's armor was cracked as well. Her side was bleeding just like Sage's. They were on even ground now, duking it out like an old fashion fight.

Sage fluttered in the air a moment, his own glaring towards Vrel from the shattering and shockwave she had done. That was the last straw, that sword was a gift from Sophia, and he promised he wouldn't break another one, and here it was getting broken in the exact same situation as last time. But now, it was time for him to get revenge. He saw the blood pouring from her side, bringing his arms up to prepare for the battle, already a battle plan forming in his head of the main way he could win here. He stared towards her, not taking his attention off of her for a second.

He began to flutter towards her, understanding the situations here. If he got grabbed, he was dead because he couldn't break her grip with the difference in their strength. So instead, he began to focus on her hands, knowing that he could potentially squirm to prevent her from getting that good grip she might want, as all he needed to do was get in close, since he had the advantage of being able to attack her from her blind spots. However, this all was for a certain end.

He raised his arms, racing towards her as he knew the bleeding would make her vision a little blurry due to the [Drain: Precision] on his ability, flying towards her aiming particularly for her face, before dropping suddenly and diving towards her bleeding side, a brutal idea in his mind

Vrel watched the fairy approach, she lifted her hands up, ready to defend herself, moving into a stance that would have her wounded side facing away from Sage. The Boggle watched Sage closely, her blue eye staring down at the approaching fairy. Vrel watched her vision blur for a moment as the amount of blood she was losing, her head dropped for a moment before she pulled her head back up.

Vrel lost sight of Sage for a moment and quickly brought her hand back to cover her wound where Sage would throw a punch. His punch would land on top of her hand as Vrel raised her other hand, with a hiss of pain coming from the champion, she would swing her hand down at where she predicted Sage would be, Sage would feel a hand slam on top of his head, slamming him into the ground then bouncing him backwards.

Vrel growled holding her bleeding wound, she kept her eyes on Sage as she began to slowly make her way over to the fairy. Sage would land next to the destroyed landscape, massive formations of erupted earth would create a maze. Vrel stared at the fairy, her eye full of determination and excitement. She was enjoying this. Sage would have options, he could venture into this maze of raised earth or he could take his chances taking on Vrel, toe to toe.

Sage Litwile
The New Sage.png
He landed on the ground, hissing at the smack he received, before looking into the maze with a smirk on his face, standing slowly, fluttering into the maze, an idea forming in his head. He thought that if he could just get in her blind spot, he could crawl inside the massive wound she had and begin to attack her from the inside. After all, one could do lots of damage to the squishy bits inside others body. The outside was crunchy, but the inside would be easy and soft to harm.

So with a spark of his bark patch igniting again, he fluttered into the maze of earth, laughing to himself as his plan began to form in his mind, turning to give Vrel an [Appraise] during the time of him running into the maze, waiting to see if she would follow him, using his tiny size to look back at her, his eye staring around the corner to see if she would follow like he wanted her to do.

Of course, he also knew her tricks with earth, so he stayed near the top of the maze so that if he needed to he could flutter out of the funnel of earth that the maze was. It would be very difficult to dodge any collapses or big attacks inside a place like that maze, so he kept himself in a position where he could if he needed.

Vrel was making her way over to where Sage was heading, although he would see her turned around where a massive rock was at and implant her fingers through the stone and looked to where Sage was, throwing the stone at him, although as Sage used his appraisal on the Boggle, he would see the following list.

-B Grade Boggle Armor
-B grade catalyst
-B grade dagger
-B grade Medicine

With Sage getting his information, the fairy would be struck by a rock, causing the fairy to fly through a few walls in the maze before landing on the ground, he would be rather hurt from this exchange, he can still move although his wings would be busted a little, he would see he can still fly but he would be much slower. Sage would hear ringing in his ear and a soreness in his small body, but he would then hear a chuckle within the ringing as a sword was came out from the earth in front of him, a sword that was colored green and long like his previous weapon, there was a gem in the middle the weapon, glyphs were etched into the blade itself showing it was made of the Fae. From the hole he was thrown through, he would hear footsteps coming, they were growing closer to where Sage was, Vrel was coming closer.

Sage began to get his bearings as he recovered from getting slammed with the rock, feeling his delicate wings bent and battered, but still usable, panting softly as he stared up at the newly forming blade, reaching out to grab hold of it, fluttering up to the hilt and slowly taking hold of it, his eyes staring towards the Boggle across from him as he hefted the blade from the ground, understanding slowly that this blade was made of his own people.

He took the blade and ducked nearby, not sure if she would know that the blade was now there with him, though now he knew that the woman had her catalyst with her, his eyes staring down at the hole where she would need to come from, panting as he knew his abilities had come off cooldown now, dropping down from the top of the hole when she came through, striking down towards her with the green blade, aiming towards her center of mass near the shoulders with a [Blood Seeker], before wrenching the blade back to twirl around twice into a [Blood Flash], Trying to get her weakened for his stronger moves to come in, fluttering back to attempt to dodge her counter attack, baiting her by instead letting himself drop like a rock as opposed to flying like she might think he would.

Sage's new weapon
1667878508359.png

As Sage moved to one of the large walls of this maze, he would hear Vrel coming, kicking walls down. Vrel growled as there a strange light from the other side of the wall, Sage would feel like he was being watched just before he made his way over the wall to surprise Vrel, but Sage would see that she was already looking up at him, her blue eye was glowing orange as he would see that this light reached the wall, seeing through it like glass. There was a bracer on her forearm that was glowing orange, giving Vrel her power. She held a weapon herself, watching Sage come towards her, her weapon looking like an earthly axe as it brimmed with decorations and gems.

Vrel's Axe
1667881875064.png

As Sage came crashing down at the Boggle, she released her catalyst's power and held her massive axe in both hands looking up at the incoming fairy. While Sage released his own ability on the boggle, Vrel would bring her axe up, blocking the thrust of the massive weapon, Sage would see pass his own power that the winds came flying on the blade towards Vrel who's axe incased itself in stone. Sage's attack still went through as his power penetrated Vrel who let out a growl and glared at Sage. Watching Sage pull his blade back for another attack, Vrel lifted her own axe, more earth incased the axe as she brought it down in a roar of power, her axe head met with the earth and a smaller shockwave flowed around her, knocking more walls down, the earth came rushing at Sage who's attack penetrated through saving him another blast away but he would be damaged as he felt the shockwave cause his body to tighten up. After the dust settled, Vrel stood there holding her axe in the ground looking up at Sage who was still flying weakly, his sword gleaming in the dust. Vrel took a deep breath and brought her axe up, holding it in a position that showed she was ready to swing it.

Although instead of swinging it, Vrel ended up throwing the axe straight at Sage in a horizontal arc that came straight for Sage.

Sage began to huff a little at the magic she was using, but instead realized this was now a fight about pure combat skill, rather than any trickery, and that was where he shined the best. When their clash resulted in the earth rising towards him, he grit his teeth as he was forced to brace for the impact, fluttering there with his sword, understanding he probably couldn't take more of this. Which meant that this was something he needed to keep on the offensive.

With the axe soaring towards him, he smirked as he twirled the blade in his arms, swinging it into the axe, however, not with the intention of stopping it, rather using the impact to propel himself, flying towards Vrel with the added momentum of her own heavy Axe's swing, spinning in the air with a cackle as he performed a [Blood Let] into her injured side, aiming directly for the wound to hammer away at her already weakened side, knowing that without her axe near she'd need to use her hands or some kind of earth to block, which he was confident his blade could cut right through.

However, with that weird wind stuff that happened, it gave him an idea, trying to will it forwards to pump wind into her side, thinking he could pop her like a balloon if he could channel the wind like he thought he might be able to. While he did this, he as well began to flutter to the other side of Vrel with his momentum, not wanting the axe to come flying back into him while he did his attack

Vrel watched Sage fling himself at the Boggle, using her axe to toss himself at her. Vrel began backing herself up as she had a raised hand up, with Sage coming for her, he would hear a whirling coming behind him. When he looked it would be her axe coming back to Vrel. Although with his attack already happening, the Boggle caught her weapon but Sage's attack would connect where he first attacked at. With his blade slamming into her flesh and breaking armor, Vrel would cry out in pain, her hands came down and grabbed the sword that was stuck in her side as her axe flee pass the two, the wind only instead dug deeper into the Boggle. Vrels head was hanging as she kept herself standing, the Boggle growled and punched Sage in her face, her other hand grabbed the fairy and punched him again.

Her strength had diminished as her blood had been constantly pouring out of her, although Sage would feel his own strength begin to dissipate as the Boggle then lifted Sage and threw him into the ground like a ball which caused the fairy to bounce. Vrel growled and fell backwards holding her wound, letting out heavy breaths and growling as she began to try and get up. Calling her axe to her side, she caught it and began to try and lift herself up but was having trouble. Sage would be bruised badly with his wings barely working now, but just barely, his sword was nearby and he would see Vrel was beginning to get up. His sword was in front of Vrel. The Boggle too distracted by her own wounds and bleeding out. This could be his chance to finally put Vrel down. The Boggle removed her busted helmet, she had a pretty face, but a enemy was a enemy.

Sage stood up from the ground that he was thrown to, his eye staring at Vrel with a gleeful look to it, his mouth in a bloody smile as blood dripped from his mouth. This was the battle he craved, something that put him in true danger of loss, but showed the true potential of who he was. Battle was what made people shine in their deepest, taking every aspect of themselves for the sake of victory. Seeing her holding her wound and weakly standing made him know this was his chance, it was now or never. Calling upon every ounce of strength still left in his miniscule body, he hopped towards his blade on his one leg with the help of his wings as well, feeling a power beyond himself fuel his little body, pushing him through the pain that surely would have knocked out a lesser man, making him [Lucky]. "A...A real warrior... never gives in!" He said weakly, echoing the words that Harlow had told him, before surging forth towards the blade.

With all the speed he could muster, he grabbed the sword from the ground, slamming it into the ground like a pole vault and coming at Vrel from above, his bark patch flaring with that dark energy he held.
"OPEN UP THE SKY FOR IT'S HUNT!" He shouted as his blade descending towards the Boggle, using his ultimate technique, [That Which Shall Bleed The Earth Dry] on the boggle with the intent of finishing her off, putting every ounce of will he had into the strike, including the winds that came with the blade, putting as much power as possible, intending to not only split his opponent in two, but the sky itself. Intending on only killing his opponent wasn't getting him anywhere, so rather his strength would be cast into overkill, every ounce of strength the self proclaimed fairy of war had.

1668307951090.png

1668307967632.png

Vrel was growling, standing up slowly, she had taken a lot of damage and looked up once she heard a war cry coming, looking up it was Sage coming down with his massive weapon, Vrel wasn't thinking straight and quickly moved to the side only for Sage's sword to come down and slice through her arm holding the axe. Vrel screamed in pain as she held her stump of an arm, her eyes glowed brightly as she then roared an extremely loud scream and roared into the air that blasted everything around her away. Blowing Sage away and the maze walls around them away into the ground, the massive trees around them even swayed from the earth moving scream. As the boggle quieted down her massive war cry, she stumbled a bit as her arm kept on bleeding, she stared over at it then fell down onto her knees and one arm, breathing hard. Sage would have been blasted away with the debris, flying alongside with it. He would find himself stuck underneath rubble he would be able to push it all off of him due to his [A Strength] and found find the ground he was on had been destroyed with Vrel in the middle of it, bleeding out and on her knees. Sage had his now broken sword in his hand, he would feel a sharp pain in his chest and upon looking down, there would be a slit of stone stabbed through his armor and in his wings absolutely destroyed. Vrel was there in the middle and Sage was a long way away from the boggle.

This was his last chance to reach the boggle and kill her, she had thrown everything at him and even a desperate last attack to try and kill the fairy but failed. Sage had his broken sword that could still cut. He had a long trek ahead of him, but it was possible. There was a lot of destroyed ground around them, this was the cost of war and battle, destruction.

Without even a moment of hesitation, Sage bared himself with his now broken blade, using it as a crutch to speed himself up, knowing he was unable to fly now, glaring towards the sight of Vrel looking at her now lost arm, no pity in his eyes due to this being just what karma granted her for the removal of his own leg and eye, starting to rush towards her along the ground, hopping as fast as he could, still using the blade to brace himself, the bark patch on his face flaring up as he slapped his blade against the ground to speed himself up like he did with Cadvar and Vrel's axe earlier in the battle, using the ground as a spring board, one leap, two leaps, and on the final one he brought his blade up, spinning through the air rapidly, trying to build the momentum he needed.

As he launched through the air like a lethal spinning blade, he aligned the edge of his blade with the neck of Vrel, aiming to decapitate her all at once, not wanting to give her a chance to recover and strike him down, this time remaining silent as he cut through the air towards her, not wanting to alert her to his presence this time, using the strongest ability he could now, a [Blood Seeker] aimed directly for the Boggles neck, aiming to kill her with every fiber of his being.

1668483792256.png

1668483801629.png

Vrel took a deep breath as she slowly pushed herself up to her knees, her helmet broken, and her face bruised and bloody. The boggle used her last remaining hand and grabbed her axe that laid under her removed limb. She growled in pain seeing her arm, the pain returning to her, her entire body covered in blood. The boggle raised a leg and tried to push herself up, trying to hear Sage's yell just like every attack he has done beforehand. The blood loss was building up as she closed her eyes for what felt like a moment but was actually a few. Vrel lifted her head up to see Sage already swinging his sword, Vrel's eyes widen as she attempted to swing her axe, but it did not move, her strength had left her. The boggle then held a smirk on her face as Sage's sword removed her head from her body, Vrel's body fell over as more of her blood spilled out.

As her body fell Sage would feel his strength leave him, Vrel's body would disappear in a dim flash of light as small wisps floated up into the air. Sage would watch the wisps float as then Zylf would standing there, in her massive form, the wisps floated into Zylf's outstretched hand, holding the lights with a smile on her face. " A shame, Vrel. You've been my Champion for over three centuries. I would have expected you to keep going for a few more centuries. " Zylf commented as she closed her hand then looked down at the ruined Sage before her.

1668489129606.png

In an instant, Zylf's naked form stood before Sage, looking down at the fairy with her glowing eyes, " You've beaten my Champion, Sage. You have proven you are worthy of my boon. Of my word. Of my power. " Zylf stated with a silky and very seductive voice while looking at the almost dead fairy. " Allow me to return your limb and eyesight. " Zylf snapped her fingers and Sage's leg would return to him, although the bark on his face did not go away, he would be able to see again but have the feeling of something stuck in his eye. " You've overcame many hardships. But that which is stuck within your eye shall need to be pulled out. " Zylf stated as the twig on his face transformed into a handle of a sword. " Remove thy weapon and become my champion, Sage. But thou shall be in my service. Just because you've gained the boon of a God does not mean you get to frolic along without doing my bidding. " Zylf stated as she watched Sage attempt to remove the handle out of his eye socket. Eventually Sage would feel his body become healed with Zylf's magic, his wounds have mended, and he now had the strength to keep going. Pulling the handle out of his eye was painful, although the more he pulled it out, the more he would see a massive blade manifest with each inch he pulled out. The sword would light up a dark green the more he removed it. Eventually as he removed the blade it would burn his hands.

1668489891232.png

Zylf smirked. " Your weapon, your boon from me. Pick it up and claim your boon. " Zylf said with a confident voice, although there was something about her voice that sounded ominous.

Sage let out a howl of victory when he saw the boggles head fall from her shoulders, panting as he landed on the ground, exhausted from the extreme battle, his eye staring over the battlefield as he began to register that things were peaceful for now. He began to fall backwards, his shattered blade next to him as he looked up at Zylf's form that was now before him. He coughed up a little bit of blood, watching the wisps that were vrel fading into Zylfs hands, sighing softly. "H-Heh... you have a nice voice Mrs. Zylf..." He said drowsily on the ground, before shakily standing on his now returned leg.

He felt the twinge of something in his eye, slowly reaching up to wrench it free, feeling it burn in his hands, laughing softly as he saw the new blade forming before him, understanding this was the fruits of all the labor he had gone through.
"S-Serve you? That doesn't sound fair..." He said with a small groan, before steeling his gaze and gripping the blade, taking up the boon as she stated. He had earned this, and he was taking it for himself whether it hurt or not.

He grit his teeth with the burning that came with gripping the blade, groaning slowly as he wrapped both hands around the hilt, lifting it up slowly.
"D-Do you have a name for this sword? O-Or am I naming it?" He asked towards Zylf through the pain, his woozy and slowly clearing mind wanting to ask a question to hear the nice voice again, though it was a question he did genuinely have.

1668523578879.png

1668523596829.png

As Sage picked up the sword, it would begin to sear his flesh, although all that he may to try and release the weapon, he could not. It would be the worst pain he had ever felt, so much it would actually bring the fairy to tears. " A weapon fit for a champion. One that will be a part of you, even after death. It will be your symbol of me. " Zylf smiled down at the fairy. " This is your weapon. You'll name it if you feel like you need it. " Zylf said as she would disappear and reappear in her elemental.

" Go and enjoy your life, you will come when called. " Zylf cackled as her massive form disappeared, the world around Sage would quickly grow back and the sword in his hand would disappear into two green tattoos located on both his hands. If he would think it, the weapon would appear in his hands. Sage would have passed the tribulation, but at what cost?
