You could grandfather yourself in as the program accepting an extra student/mistakenly accepting an extra student. Or, your character could be a returning student brought in as a mentor/RA to the new students. They could even return as an intern (an intern could be as young as 18 if romance was in your interests, haha). ...Just thought I'd throw out some suggestions.
