Fandom Tokyo Ghoul Re:Master

"Well, you and I both are getting older. Maybe its time to let the younger boys and girls get their chance at the fight," he said to the lonely doctor, "it takes a lot of work to be out there in the field. And even though we're still 'young' its still a tiring exercise to get out there every day and fight." For a moment, Leon let silence fill the room as he pondered on what he originally had intended to do. Anyways, I was looking into getting another quinque to accommodate good ol' reliable here," Leon stated as he brandished Giant Killer. Its silver finish glinted in the low light room, and the shadows highlighted the barrel nicely. The CCG Agent then placed the revolver down upon a table in front of Dr. Kaito. "You guys over here have quite a bigger problem with ghouls than the States. I'm probably gonna need a bigger gun to deal with this mess. Preferably something a little more advantageous at close quarters besides this combat knife I have here." Leon then pulled out his combat knife from his vest and placed it on the table for the Doctor to examine along with the Giant Killer.

Leon then heard footsteps come down the hall and a girl saying his name. He quickly left the room, briefly blinded by the change in lighting, and saw Nami, the young investigator who had initiated the fight earlier on in the streets of the 15th ward. "Hey you," Leon yelled, "you looking for me?"

The Senior investigator that accompanied Nami looked in Leons direction when he called out to Nami. Smiling a little the investigator walked over and held out a hand for a handshake as he spoke. "Investigator Leon its a pleasure to meet you I am Senior investigator Horu. HQ sent me to inform you that uhh well.." He looked back at Nami who still stood a ways away, Her head down slightly so her eyes could not be seen and here dress soaked in blood. "The HQ wants you to take Nami." he said softly as he looked back to Leon then back to Nami with a sorrowful look in his gaze.

Haise Sasaki
15th Ward

Haise stood at the small counter, requesting a rather simple black coffee from the man running the register. Pulling out his wallet and handing the man a few bills, he smiled and headed off to find himself a seat. However it was just his luck that the cafe was slowly becoming more and more crowded right as he ordered. Soon, all the seats had been taken! Haise let out a soft sigh, feeling a strange feeling as if someone were watching him. His eyes moved to find the source quickly, the encounter from earlier today putting him a tad on edge. He was hoping it wasn't the ghoul coming back for payback. He wasn't sure he could take them on but..he also felt a tad different as well. His eyes soon found there mark, meeting with the eyes of a girl currently sipping her coffee. He gave a rather embarrassed wave and a sheepish smile slowly made appeared on his face. He moved to the woman, soon standing across from her. "Er..do you mind if I sit here? There's ah..well there's not exactly much space left in here!" If Haise had any inclination of the woman being a ghoul, he certainly wasn't showing it.

"Hm.." Juuzou pondered the thought for a few moments as he returned his quinque to its case. "Honestly there's hardly anything at all on this apparent ghoul we're searching for.." Juuzou honestly just wanted to go get doughnuts. He'd been doing this for a few hours now, and he desperately wanted a pastry, or anything bread related. Searching one of the ghouls, he was lucky enough to discover a card for a pastry shop of sorts. Holding up the card in the air and waving it around, he stood back up and smiled. "Here! A clue for the investigation! Perhaps they work at a bakery and he just left there after meeting with them?" The reasoning was shaky, but it would be obvious to anyone that Juuzou was just making the excuse to go get food.

Tremki Kaguya, "Abbaddon"
1de266532ece637d23da9d61fe22c5e4.jpg

"People are just like birds, cause' birds all want to fly free ~"

Location - 24th Ward; Sewer Level

Tremki stood and started, however he kept on a constant type of 'movement' with his hands, either fiddling with the folds of his zip-up jacket & rubbing his feet against each other. The 'Black Dove' on the other hand wasn't nearly quite as fidgety as Tremki was - making only the most subtle of movements, hardly noticeable under the long black leather coat the figure adorned and the white mask he wore which concealing both the figure's identity and facial expressions. Tremki's curiosity would come at a cost however, for within those few short moments the one Tremki dubbed 'The Black Dove' made his answer. Raising his arm high, the figure unleashed something from under his black coat - shooting out a 2ft projectile right towards Tremki's head while only being a few feet away..Making the only reaction that was viable, Tremki jerked his head to the left side while manoeuvring his body forward attempting an evade to the left side, the 2ft Kouakaku spike narrowly missing Tremki's face - leaving a deep gash in Tremki's right cheek he hardly acknowledged as he dashed into the murky sewage waters, creating a violent splash on landing - giving him a moments distraction with the water to scurry his way into a dark corner of the other side of the sewage level. Intending on using the darkness to his advantage.

"Aha ~ So the 'Black Dove' does want to play with Tremki, we don't mind ~"

Lurking back in the shadows, Tremki only took one short moment to analyse the Black Dove, or more specifically the coat which the black dove adorned on him/herself. Wondering exactly what the 'Black Dove' was hiding under his coat, Tremki took little heed with his steps - making loud splashes in the water and on the concrete slabs. Planning to make his strike from above, Tremki quickly scurried up the walls - crawling on the ceiling of the sewage labyrinth on all fours and launching himself down on top of the figure, attempting to force the figure down with his feet barging down heavily on 'Black Doves' shoulders along with swooping both of his hands down violently clenched together in an attempt to smash over the Black dove's skull.

Bani 'Nega" Ningyo
20th Ward
"Going out again so soon Bani?" Taiyo, the restaurant's owner asked as she saw the aloof girl walk toward the back entrance of the restaurant. She had met Bani a few months back when the girl came in looking for a job. Upon hearing she was an orphan looking for a place to stay Taiyo, an orphan herself, had felt an instant kinship and rather rashly offered the girl a job and the spare apartment upstairs. She was happy that so far she doesn't regret her choice. Bani had proved to be a good worker that caused no trouble. Even if she dodged Taiyo's attempts to bond.
"Yep, I have some errands to run. I might stop at the bookstore on the way. Do you want me to see if they have that new book you've been talking about? It was released last week wasn't it?" Bani inquired pausing briefly to turn an innocent face to her landlady/boss resisting the urge to smirk at the startled look on her face. Probably hadn't realized I do pay attention to her rambling.
"Um..ya that would be great." Taiyo stuttered her startled look quickly turning into a smile as she realized Bani had been paying attention. Maybe we are bonding after all! "Thank's Bani!"
"No problem boss."
Bani waited until she was safely outside and no longer in Taiyo's sight to smirk, feeling a bit smug at getting one up on her boss. Bani had no interest in getting close to her but knew she had to keep Taiyo happy. She didn't want to get kicked out after all. Slipping her hands into her pocket she headed toward the bookstore. She had a meeting with an associate at a nearby coffee shop soon to arrange the drop off of her next meal. Probably another suicide case. She figured. They are the easiest to get a hold of.
She sniffed and became aware of the scent in the air indicating that it was about to begin raining. Pausing she debated continuing down the street or taking a short cut through the park across the street where she stood. The first drops hitting the ground made her decision for her. Turning she crossed the street and entered the park when she became aware that she had just walked in on an assault. A girl stood by the playground with three boys converging upon her. One lashed out kicking her. Irritated at the sight of the bullying, Bani moved toward them. "Wow, you can't find someone your own size you can beat up so you choose to pick on a girl. Tch, how lame."
It succeeded in taking their attention off the girl and onto her. She paused a few feet from them now suddenly becoming aware of the scent around the girl. Shit, she's a ghoul. Suddenly her intention's turned from saving the girl to making sure she didn't kill the boys. They were to out in the open for that.

The Rainmaker
24th Ward

art-rain-man-dark-soul-ii-mask.jpg

What a pitiful creature.

Marx internally sighed at the sight of Abaddon, the effects of his attack clear in the ghoul's immediate reactions. He'd scraped his target barely, although no class S or above ghoul was to be taken lightly to begin with, the speed of it was impressive for a categorised rinkaku. Indeed, winging Tremki in such a manner was as futile in fatally injuring him as it was trimming one's hair. The sheer rc cell count in his body would simply regenerate the damage nigh-instantly. No, more permanent, sudden damage would be required in an instant to quickly cease any blood flow or regeneration throughout the body. Failing that, gouging out the koukaku would suffice in at least disarming the freakish ghoul boy.

Lowering his arm again, Marx watched the ghoul scurry off and stayed put, content to let Abaddon come to him. Ghouls had vast reserves of stamina, humans did not. It seemed that his preemptive attack had not been enough to entice the kagune from the ghoul, so he was still fairly apprehensive as to what to expect next, however it seemed generic unarmed combat was preferred for the young ghoul.

The Rainmaker raised his arms to block the feet that crashed down upon him, having shot forth from Tremki post-scaling the tunnel's ceiling. Crossing and splaying his arms out forcefully, Marx rebuked the attempted landing/kick, however he quickly noticed two fists moving in for a potentially lethal head injury. Reacting just as swiftly, Marx ducked backwards, bending his body as he did to completely dodge the attack.

Time seemed to slow for the two. Abaddon hung in the air, fists clenched in the low light from his attack, slowly falling down. Marx was falling onto his back ever slower, still mid-duck. However, Marx had now retaken the offensive. Almost impossibly slowly relative to the two, Marx's arm began to rise again from his straining angle. The arc of his movement decreased bit by bit as the end of sleeve edged in line with Tremki, lining up the shot as the two seemed to just hang in suspension. Marx was certain the ghoul would not dodge whilst in midair, it was impossibly so. Unless, of course, it had means to block or otherwise maneuver in the air, Marx's Pinnacle of Rain would impale the creature to the tunnel's ceiling as three 2ft koukaku spikes would shoot forth like cannon shots from the sleeve. Truly as tactical as it was instinctual, this high-level battle took perception that likely only these two, among very few others, were actually capable of following. Once more, time seemed to resume its natural pace as the spikes loomed ever closer to their mark, tips glinting, glinting, glinting...

Remi Nunen
4th ward, bordering on the northern parts of the 13th.
The smell of coffee lingered heavy in the air as Remi rhythmically tapped his foot against the wooden floors. He threw another glance at the clock, but to his dismay, only a few minutes had passed since the last time he checked it. Where was he? It had been days, weeks even, and nothing. Did he want Remi to go insane? The tapping speed up as Remi downed the last of his coffee, it was the seventh cup of the day, and he would need many more if this kept up.

"Did they feed you yet?"
The voice that filled Remi's ears was unexpected. It was low, with a trace of huskiness and a hint of fear. The blood rushed through the man's veins, his heartbeat was deafening, and then there was the smell of meat. Remi was shocked that he hadn't heard him coming, but hunger did strange things to him.

"No..." Remi growled, his fists clenching as his brother walked right past him. Most of the family avoided Remi around the end of the month as he usually went a month or so without eating, but throughout the years, they had gotten a bit more careless, assuming that Remi could control himself. "I'm on my eight cup of the day, and I'm about to fly off the hinges." Remi supplied, his breathing raspy and the look in his eyes made it clear that they were counting the hours before there would be a family tragedy. "You know, they say that most people would give an arm and a leg to keep their family safe, how about you, dear brother?" Remi was only half kidding. He could see the veins on his brother's arm pulsate as they carried blood throughout that juicy, pink, moist flesh, he could practically taste it, and thankfully his brother decided to get the hell out of dodge, only giving a strained chuckle as a response before jogging out of the kitchen.

Hunger was the most terrible pain Remi knew, constant, and grinding. The first few days were easy to deal with, there was this unshakeable feeling of weakness and fatigue, nothing major, but as the days piled on, things got exponentially worse. Food and nutrients eventually became the only things on his mind. How to get it, when he could get it, and who it could be, were the only thoughts he had. It was a constant fight to keep himself in check, and today Remi was just a hairs width from snapping. Where was he?

There it was, the sudden bang of a door being slammed shut. No one was in more of a rush than Mr.Nunen whenever he was transporting corpses back home. Remi had assumed that the old geezer would have gotten used to it after feeding him for the better parts of 25 years, but every time he came home with a snack he slammed the door shut; like that wouldn't raise any suspicions.

Remi nearly leaped from his seat, his eyes switching color as the smell of flesh and blood filled his nose. "Oh...yes," He purred, rushing towards the divine scent. He could feel his thoughts starting to cloud over, but who cared? Food was here, and it was time to dig in. The house shook as Remi leaped down the stairs leading to the door, but, the man he met wasn't Mr.Nunen. No, Mr.Nunen would never wear a suit like this, and what was up with this icy stare? "Where, is, he?"

Hanako Yamada

"Sure we can, Associate Special Class, whatever you say," Yamada replied with a sassy tone before strutting back to their vehicle that had been parked just a little further away from the sight of the blood bath. She walked around the car and opened up the passenger side door and slid into the seat, buckling down, throwing her gear in the back seat and waited for Suzuya to get to the car. She was sort of disappointed in her assignment to have Suzuya as her commanding officer. Hanako felt that as a successful First Class Investigator, she should be able to deal with this case on her own and not have a baby sitter.

Kuroko had immediately looked away when Haise had turned around to see her. She knew that it was a rather suspicious action, but maintaining eye contact would probably be even worse. Besides, she hoped it could be interpreted as just her checking him out. So it took her by surprise to see him approach her table, and even more so when he asked to sit down. Time to act a bit awkward, then. Like it wasn't something she was already good at.

"Oh! Umm... yeah, sure, I guess." Kuroko blushed slightly. It wasn't faked at all; she always had a bit of a difficult time carrying a conversation just to pass time.

She looked at him for a bit, just to take in what he was wearing. He was certainly an investigator, alright. And he looked to be slightly on edge. Had he already figured out that she was a ghoul?

Somewhere in the 20th Ward - Kaori

Someone shouted out. Kaori turned her head slightly to see Bani across the street, drawing the attention of the boys. Which was a great stroke of luck for her, because as the reflexive tears from the kick stung her eyes, her kakugan had activated. Sure, Kaori had no way of knowing if this newcomer was a ghoul or not, but she sort of smelled like one. And Kaori always trusted her nose. She pulled herself off the ground painfully. She didn't have the remarkable regeneration that some ghouls she'd met had, but Kaori knew that she would be fine in a couple minutes. Then she noticed the tear on the side of her coat. It was very noticeable, and almost irreparable. The tears became real as her kakugan disappeared, dripping silently on to the ground. Not only was it her only coat, it was also her favorite out of any past articles of clothing she had, a birthday present from her last parents.

The boy with the bat looked around at the two behind him, and then started laughing. They were all around a year or two older than the girl standing in front of them, and bigger too.

"Oh yeah? Then why don't we start with you?" The other two snickered as well, and they began to close in on her.

CCG 15th Ward Headquarters - Dr. Kaito

As Nami walked into the room, Kaito picked up Giant Killer to examine it. He checked the bolt action, then pulled out the magazine and held it up to one eye.

"Ah, and speaking of which, here's one of those younger generations that you were speaking of." Kaito set the gun down after he set the magazine back into place.

"And by the look of things, she's already a fighter," he said with a laugh. "Teach her well on how to hone her skills, and both of us should be able to retire to a boring old desk job early, eh? I suppose I'm one step ahead of you in that regard." Kaito sat back down on his chair, and pulled it up to his desk to begin typing something.

"I'll tell you what, give me no more than six hours. I know, you have a busy schedule and all, but we recently got a rather... interesting kakuhou that I'm sure you'll enjoy. If you find yourself a job in that time," Kaito pulled out a quinque case from underneath his desk and set it onto the table.

"...then you can borrow mine for a bit. I suppose that can't really be helped."

Remi Nunen
4th ward, bordering on the northern parts of the 13th.

All shades of red painted the entrance hall. Lazy rivers of dark crimson and bright scarlet stained old wood floors, seeping into the cracks and giving a nice contrast to that dull walnut color. Droplets of the thick liquid splashed against the wall as teeth dug into tender flesh, ripping and tearing it asunder. Arms, legs, what looked like the remainders of a torso, and a small hand laid littered around among shoes and what used to be clean jackets. It looked like a scene of a gruesome murder, maybe the workplace of a particularly messy butcher, or if some child had ripped all their dolls asunder and these were the leftover from a tantrum. But in truth, this was just a long-awaited dinner.

A ripping, popping sound snuck up the stairs as Remi tore through ligaments, and then, shortly after, there were the echoing snaps of Remi breaking his way through bones to get to the juiciest parts. All the humans in his family hated the sounds Remi made whenever he ate, his siblings struggled to keep their food down if they ever caught a sight of him and his mother had fainted a couple of times, but Mr.Nunen usually kept him company. Mr.Nunen would stay in the same room, try his best to hold a conversation, to fake that this was just an ordinary meal, but he could never bring himself to look at Remi digging through of what used to be a human. He would strain himself to look anywhere else, at anything else, doing his best to avoid looking right at the chunks of meat he had brought the beast he called a son.

But this man, his eyes never left Remi.

Remi had wanted to say no, to refuse the mans offering, but the overpowering metallic smell was driving him mad. "I...don..t, want," Remi had stuttered, but his ghoul instincts trumped any form of self-control, and moments later Remi had lost the fight against himself, giving in to the hunger. He could hear how blood moved back and forth inside the bag as the man dangled it in front of him, and so, how could he say no? He needed to eat, and here someone was generously offering him the most delicious gift of soaking wet meat, so who was he to decline?

"Starving beasts have a habit of going feral," The man said, finally breaking his silence. Remi had never seen him before. He had thought that maybe this was someone Mr.Nunen worked with, but that didn't make any sense, all the people Mr.Nunen worked with were human; humans with a firm anti-ghoul stance. Remi couldn't imagine that anyone of them would do something like this, nor could Remi imagine Mr.Nunen making such a wild request, and yet, here was a man more than willing to give a hungry man a bite to eat.

"Weak,"
The man suddenly mumbled as he saw Remi struggle to chew through a female elbow, her shoulder blade proving challenging. How could someone be this cold? Even Remi felt horrid every time he devoured some poor souls remains, but this was just how things needed to be and the dead surely didn't mind taking part in the circle of life.

"Who are you?" Remi questioned, taking a short break from his dinner, his hunger somewhat sated. "Did dad send you?" The word dad seemed to make the man recoil, but Remi kept bombarding him with more questions. "Where did you get this? I usually get a leg or an arm or two, but these parts are from at least three different people. How did you get this much?"

"Not right now, but I'll tell you my name soon enough. Your....father... didn't send me, but you were in need of food, so I found you some." Nothing about this man made sense to Remi. The man seemed so cold and disinterested in the scene unfolding before his eyes, and yet, he had been the gears in motion, so a part of him had to care. But, how did he know about Remi's status as a ghoul? And how did he know that Remi needed food? These weren't the kinds of things someone could just guess. It had been years since Remi had shown any ghoulish signs in public, so how could some stranger walk in on the day he was needed the most? These and countless other questions swam around in Remi's head, but he was to busy eating to really dig into any of them. "After all, Seeds need nutrients."

~Santeru Ishumari~
24th Ward, Sewage Level
"No matter who you are, Karma always catches up to you."

Santeru ducked into the side entrance of the 24th ward rather quickly as to avoid any prying eyes, he sighed lighting up a cigarette between his lips with a disposable match taking a deep drag before exhaling the toxic cloud into the air. His eyes searched wall to wall in the narrow passageway in order to find any trip wires or possible traps usually put in place to trap unsuspecting humans who wander into the godforsaken place. After concluding that there were none he continued forward, his red duster coat making light flapping noises which echoed into the tunnel with every step along with his boots touching the concrete. He wasn't concerned with being heard, as it was doubtful an individual would even attempt to approach him. It was down here so often in order to find his protege Tremki that he was borderline a resident at this stage. The boy had run off from him in order to go play and had not contacted Santeru in hours, which usually meant he got himself mixed into trouble as usual.
The sounds of combat echoes through the service tunnel, which Santeru took note of quickly flicking away the lit piece of tobacco between his lips watching the burning ember bounce against the ground. He eventually reached a service door, he grasped the handle tightly and flung it open exposing the large sewage tunnel. Three figures came into his view, one incapacitated on the ground, Tremki, and a stranger. Santeru's eyes followed every move closely noticing the enemy combatant was using ranged tactics in order to keep Tremki at bay. This little show was growing increasingly irritating as the sounds echoing in the tunnel caused a headache to come on. Santeru cleared his throat his baritone booming off the walls "Excuse me! Can we all just stop for a moment so I can fucking think!" He said sternly no doubt startling anyone nearby as he borderline screamed it in such a tight space. His eye brow twitched as he brought his hands up to his temples underneath his large brimmed hat and slowly massaged them in order to alleviate some pressure.

"I... heard about this large incident that happened downtown on television. Were you... in that?"

Haise let out a small laugh as the woman mentioned the event with the S+ ghoul from a few hours ago. His coffee was set down on the table by one of the workers, prompting Haise to thank the man before continuing on with his conversation with the woman. "I guess it was that bad of a situation that we had to call a lock-down or something? Unfortunately I'm sorta supposed to get stuff like that confidential." Haise brought the hot coffee to his lips, having completely forgotten it was still extremely hot as he took a drink. A choked cough escaped the Investigator's mouth as he forced the hot drink out of his mouth, his tongue more than a little burnt. A few moments of ragged coughing ensued and Haise rose a hand up to the girl as a sign to give him a moment.

Feeling the burning begin to subside in his mouth after a few seconds, he composed himself and looked at the woman with an embarrassed smile. "Though ah..I was in the area at the time. Sorry about that..sorta forgot it was hot!"

"Huzzah!" Juuzou either didn't notice or didn't care about Hanako's tone, his slippers clip-clapping as he ran back to the car, the case for his quinque flailing in his hand. Immediately his free hand flung the drivers side door open for Juuzou to scramble inside and put his quinque in the backseat. Once the two were in and their seat-belt's were on, Juuzou put the key in the ignition and revved up the car. It should be mentioned that Juuzou doesn't officially have a drivers license. How he convinced the CCG to give him keys and ready access to a car is a mystery, a mystery which is made even stranger if one were to notice just how Juuzou drove. He sped, ran red-lights, and disobeyed most traffic laws. The fact he wasn't pulled over by a police officer, or even seen by one while the two made their journey to the 4th ward was sheer luck. A thirty minute drive had taken Juuzou half that time at the cost of Hanako most certainly taking his keys before he killed the two. The tires screeched as he pulled into a small parking spot. "Donuts! Sweets! Cake!" Juuzou cried out in joy, grabbing his quinque as he stepped out from the car and waited for Hanako to do the same before heading to the small cafe just across the street.

Its a terrible time when your runs leave you with less money than you'd like. From having the take a detour due to investigators, or Pigeons as Bakko called them, making trips more difficult; to other ghouls thinking they could mug her for her goods and life before being electricuted into a convulsing mess. Today was not the best of days. And wading through a sewer with a large box of human organs and meat wasn't the way she wanted to end her run. So was the life of trying to pay rent.

The tall, sabertooth masked woman had heard the warnings about this place, ducking into a passageway out of sight of anybody making their own rounds. How the ghouls here will eat eachother alive for a peice of human meat. That was why their contact was here and willing to pay so much. Almost double her rent money and seeing her circumstance, she was in no position to turn it down.

and this is where she was now, wandering through the sewers with a rather large crate under their arm. In the other hand, a map and picture of the man she was supposed to meet up with as she walked and grumbled under her breath. "I thought this was the land of being on time, not being late and keeping me here." the sneered, adjusting the crate back under her arm.

The moment she stopped to put down the crate, she jumped at not only the sound of sudden combat, but someone shouting as well. She sighed as she listened in and perched on the crate. It was sturdy enough to keep up despite her weight. If it meant waiting for her contact to finish the fight and possibly looting through the dude's pockets, then so be it.

"I... heard about this large incident that happened downtown on television. Were you...

4th Ward Bakery

Hanako stepped out of the car. Slightly nauseous from the road trip to the bakery. Her face paler than normal. A guttural urge surged from within her gut as the need to vomit even on an empty stomach emerged. She placed her hand over her mouth quickly and choked down the feeling of yacking up her insides on the pavement. As she recovered, Hanako slowly regained her form and composure and followed her mentor into the bakery, leaving her cumbersome long sword inside and instead bringing a different case with her that contained her quinque, Yotsume. "Wait for me, Suzuya-senpai," she said as she blissfully walked into the bakery, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling ground and the smell of the fresh flour and sugar being tossed around.

Remi Nunen
4th ward, bordering on the northern parts of the 13th.

Cafe's were a dime a dozen in the 4th ward, at every corner there seemed to be somewhere you could go to get your next shot of that ever so addicting caffeine. Most of them were parts of big chains, the void of soul and personality, having about 200 different menu items when they had, at most, five different flavors. Thankfully, there were some rare exceptions, places hidden just out of sight or away from prime locations, gems in the rough, and through strange twists of fate, Remi found himself seated in one of these little hideaways. The air was thick with the scent of coffee and chocolate. The furniture and building looked older than most of the clientele, but it was cozy and felt strangely like home. No coffee mug looked alike, all in different shapes, sizes, and colors; it looked as if someone had had a bit too much fun in arts and crafts.

"I need a bit more than just a trust me, it will all be fine," Remi mumbled, trying his best to impersonate the man sitting in front of him, a man Remi still knew nothing about, nothing other than the fact that he seemed to have access to dead bodies. "You knew I was hungry and you know who I am, what I am, and I'm supposed to be cool with that?" Remi did his best to remain calm, and to make it seem that this meeting was nothing out of the ordinary, but he was a few inches away from full-blown panic. 4th wasn't a nice place for his kind, in fact, he knew of no other ghouls living in the area as most avoided any ward filled with Doves, but, this was home, and for years nobody had seemed the wiser, so what had suddenly changed? Remi shifted uncomfortably, his clothes sticking to his skin as it was still moist after the quick shower he had to take. He wanted to know more, but this guy was really bad at answering questions.

"Your, caretaker, has been able to do shady things for years and never once has any repercussions befallen him, your outbursts as a child were never investigated or dug into, and nobody ever stopped to question why?" The man had a point there. There had been mishaps, moments that should have caught public attention, but nothing had ever happened, nobody had come to ask questions or to check up on things, was this guy the reason?

"It's not dumb luck or fate that you get away with these things. There are powers up above that have swept these things under the rug, explained them away or made it so that they never sent a ripple throughout the whole system. There have always been eyes on you, but we think it is about time that we do more than just observe." The words had sinister undertones, and Remi didn't like the thought that someone had always been watching, but it was nice to finally know why things had been so smooth for so many years.

"I, we, want you to come and have a talk at the office," The man seemed to stop as door flew open and some kid and a woman stepped into the establishment.

The Bone of his Sword and the Man of his Word
Corvin Maredlou

Corvin lifted aviator style oakleys up to his eyes as he stepped off the private jet and onto the near barren tarmac. There were, as to be expected, commercial jets preparing to take their hundred odd passengers to their new destinations taking off and lading, but it seemed that there wasn't any agent here to greet him. Which was an oddity.

Any other time he'd gone to a new country with the RGHOR they were generally greeted with representatives. Perhaps the lack of a greeting was a hint to the nature of the situation he'd been sent to, given the lack of usual human support.

"Could things really be so bad here? That my human friends would have been in such harms way?" shrugging as he mussed over it, he called out to the crew, "Lower down my baby so that I may be getting along on my way. Business has need of being attended to."

As he spook a panel opened toward the rear of the jet revealing an elevator system. As it whirred to life and began moving Corvin's personal vehicle, a refurbished Harley WLA, was slowly lowered to the ground. As soon as the elevator stopped moving he undid the restraints and mounted his bike he looked back at the small crew and reminded them that it was time for them to head back home to Romania, as per ordered, putting down any possible objections by reminding them that the country seemed more untamed than those around back home.
_______

It had been almost an hour since Corvin had left the airport and he was eager to reach this building for the 'CCG' that had failed to meet with him as they were supposed to have. It didn't bother him on a personal level, but he was not looking forward to dealing with them on a professional level. Sure, perhaps his meeting had slipped through the cracks of paperwork, but his homeland always prioritised foreign Ghouls arriving in their country.

Perhaps it was a regulation difference, but he didn't like it.

As he barreled down the nigh abandoned industrial district road a cry faintly reached his ears as well as an all too familiar smell. Curious and going off instinct, Corvin pulled his bike to the side of the road and ensured he had Dreptate and Indrumare ready to draw upon should things get hairy. Moving down a side alley, he found himself on one of those thing, in between the backs of buildings roads, the one's suppliers often used. As he exited out onto this street he first noticed a girl, likely eight or nine, come running down the alley. Her simple dress was tattered and bloodstained, though she seemed to have no injuries herself outside of a few deep bruises.

Still, he smelled it, and when a quartet of men came around the corners, eyes black, he knew he'd been right.

"Well, looky here boys, seems a stray's up and wandered into our play area," growled one of the men, seeming cocky and arrogant as well as dripping malice.

At the man's words the girl, who now had to pick between heading towards Corvin or heading back towards the men warily began walking towards the Romanian Ghoul.

"So I suppose it would seem, friend," Corvin returned, albeit coldly, giving the girl pause, "Did you lose something of your own tonight? Is that what brings out on this cold and moonlit night?"

The group seemed confused and off put. Here was this unaffiliated Ghouls, clearly in another Ghoul's territory, and yet he didn't care, ignored their threats and spoke to them cordially. The impromptu leader, the one that had spoken first, raised his voice again to meet Corvin's ears.

"Yeah, well, not really. We're part of a pretty big house around here, and this here's just where we have some fun. Work up an excercise before a meal. So you just go on and get yourself lost somewhere else before there's trouble!"

Wordlessly Corvin launched himself at the child, pulling his jacket loose as he covered her with it while telling her to keep her head down and hide under it until he was finished. At the same time his Ukaku erupted from his back and enveloped him and the girl as the four Ghouls, all Koukaku types, launched themselves fruitlessly against the barrier Corvin's massive Ukaku formed. Taking one moment to ensure the girl was covered, especially as her eyes grew wide at Corvin's Ukaku, the man spun around, forcing the group back with a sweep of his wings as his sword and shield came forth in his hands.

"I am the Drakon, son of my word, father of my promises. I am the law in my own land, and that law is peace. You will know a peace of your own soon enough." Corvin stated, a faint smile flickering on the edges of his face as the Ghouls seemed to realise that this wasn't some poor stray they'd had stumble upon them.

Regardless, the first of them charged forward, lunging with a sharpened lance for an arm. Blocking the slow attack effortlessly off Indrumare Corvin saw as the man was left wide open and promptly opened him further, from throat to groin in one fell swipe of Dreptate. The other three shared glances of uncertainty as it truly began sinking in. This wasn't a simple Ukaku Ghoul, he had Quinque!

Moving together, all three made to charge him, hoping to over power the man. Instead Corvin brought around a wing and deflected the Koukaku of the two on his right easily as Indrumare and Dreptate sent forth an assault on the leftmost enemy, putting him on his heels as he fought a desperate defense. Then, lashing out quickly, Corvin sent the man into a wall with a sweep of his left wing, then rounding on the other two. The closest faltered and turned to run, but Corvin wasn't one for letting filth escape and cut him down quickly. Falling on the next target, Corvin likewise put him down in a flurry of sword and shield.

Paying no mind to the final Ghoul, the one he'd slammed into the wall. Corvin put away his weapons and withdrew his Ukaku as he strode over to the girl, covered as she was and apparently shaking in terror. Speaking softly to her, he told her it was him before picking her up in both arms, promising he was going to take her somewhere safe.

As he did so the final Ghoul managed to get to his feet. His right arm was a mangled mess of broken and likely powdered bone, and his ribs likely weren't much better. Still, in all his anger he desperately formed his Koukaku over her left arm and prepared to charge. Still, he didn't make it a step before he found himself struck once more, with enough force to snap his head around backwards, shattering the vertebrae in his neck.

The last thing the Ghoul thought was that he swore the man had Ukaku... not a Bikaku.
_______

Having ensure the girl was safe, Corvin finally found himself pulling up infront of the CCG building. As he kicked down the kickstand on his bike, he let it rest gently, trying not to wake the girl who'd fallen asleep sitting in his lap.She was exhausted and from what he'd gathered she was likely an orphan, kept as stock by whatever house of Ghouls he was reasoning that the'd see an end to soon. In fact this whole scenario, the wild Ghouls and sort, was like a surreal, Oriental variant of the old west you'd hear about from the Americas. It was an entirely different world, and it was making more and more sense why the RGHOR didn't send any humans.

Lifting the girl gently as he stood Corvin made his way up to the front doors and pushed them open with his feet, careful to duck through the doorway as to not bump his head. Now standing in the foyer, sleeping girl in his arms, Corvin figured it wouldn't take long for someone to take notice of his presence.

"Juuzou-senpai, can you pick something out for me. I can't really decide on what I want. I'll find us a seat in the cafe," Hanako mentioned to him before wandering off. She looked up and down the rows of seats to try and find a spot open for her senior and herself. Then she happened to come across a seat next to the person with a medical mask covering his face. She had overheard some peculiar details of the conversation and decided to listen in while fiddling with her phone, taking a seat nearby and placing her briefcase on the ground. Conversations like this intrigued her investigative instincts and she wanted to hear more.

Some Coffee Shop, 15th Ward - Kuroko and Haise

Kuroko had rose out of her seat a bit when Haise had started coughing, but settled back down as he held up his hand.

“Are you… okay?”

She forced a smile. “Yeah, I would assume that would all be confidential. Sounds like it was a pretty big thing.”

Haise couldn’t help but rub at his chest slowly, the slight burning sensation dissipating. "Mm, you could say something like that. I hope you weren’t stuck someplace while it happened!” He picked up the cup of coffee again, lightly blowing on the drink inside before lifting it up completely to take a drink at the now cooled down drink.

“Oh, I wasn’t held up anywhere when it was going on. I simply saw it over the news, at the library which I work for. Really, it probably had less people coming in, which gave me a break.” Kuroko laughed.

You didn’t happen to see anyone suspicious enter the library, did you? Someone acting strange?” Haise couldn’t help but ask when she mentioned that she worked at the library. Seeing as less people came in, she might be able to remember anyone suspicious that may have visited. “Ah..This isn’t an interrogation or something, so you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to. I would certainly be grateful if you told me something, if you really did see anyone acting strange.

Kuroko was taken aback a bit by the immediate questioning, but she mentally shrugged. He was an investigator after all. Being inquisitive probably came with the territory.

“Uhhhh… Hmmm…” She clasped her hands together and rested her chin on top. “The only person that comes to mind was someone looking to return various books on ghouls. But that’s it.” Now that she thought back on it, he was likely an investigator, but Kuroko thought she might as well mention it.

Hrm…” Haise’s eyes drifted off to the side, looking out into the busy streets as she spoke. “I see. Probably just someone with a very big interest in ghouls..or an investigator. Probably an investigator.” He cleared his throat and set his drink back down, giving the woman a smile. “Well I appreciate you telling me anyway! If you do see someone strange, you can call the Office and leave a tip!

“Call the office…” Kuroko looked out onto the street. Once, she’d almost considered going to the place for help, back when she was being hunted herself. It would’ve been so easy to just walk into the CCG building and shake off whoever was following her… but even back then, she knew that was suicide.

“I’ll be sure to leave tips if I see anything strange. Although, it might just be an investigator burning his tongue on coffee.” Kuroko looked back to Haise with laughter in her eyes.

Haise couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle at Kuroko’s light-hearted jab. “Fair enough! It wouldn’t be the worst call we’ve gotten. Or the first time it was about someone burning their tongue on coffee…” His hand reached around for his briefcase, finding the handle of the case and gripping it. “Anyway, perhaps I should leave you be now? It is getting less hectic in here.

“Oh! You’re leaving? Ah, well, I’m sure you’re busy as an investigator. Umm, thank you for keeping me company though. Maybe sometime, you can borrow a book from the library.” Kuroko smiled. As he left, she tracked him as he walked down the street. He didn't seem too bad for an investigator...

If there was anything that annoyed Bakko more than being delayed by fighting ghouls, it was a late customer. And even more so, a dead customer. She sighed, knowing full well how dangerous this place was as she had told him that it was safer to meet in the 14th ward or anywhere else but this place. Now the dude was dead...or at least close to it. Poor bastard won't survive long in that shitfest. The skull mask clicked together as she ducked back out the way she came. No sense in sticking around any longer than need be.

She didn't frequent this ward for a number of reasons. One was the fact that the parts she had been in have been madder than a kicked wasps nest, but the main one was that it was strangely boring. She liked watching humans and ghouls tended to behave the same depending on the place. Watching ghouls interact with humans during was entertaining. Some were friendly and some...well even ghouls felt second hand embarrassment; but it was interesting. Underground where it was almost nothing but ghouls? It was like watching a pack of rabid hounds rip a rabbit to shreds if a human made their way down here at all.

Even in her thoughts, Bakko could feel eyes on her. The crate was leaking and the smell was starting to attract others. "Luck loos, it's fresh this time." she said as she glanced to her left. A group of three, faces hidden in hoods with only red eyes peeking. "And your friend was was gonna buy just became a meal himself."

"Drop it and we won't kill ya." One of them growled as they started to surround her. She could feel the smirks on their faces, but she was in less of a mood.

"Babes, please. You don't have to do this." She was calm, even as they drew in closer. The eyes of the sabertoothed skull glowed red as a blue tentacle shocked to life and impaled the man directly in front of him. Crackling with electricity and the man now and truly shocked and convulsing, the other two froze in place. "Now then. If you want to eat and live. Empty your pockets." The two standing looked at each other and frantically started throwing whatever cash they had on them. Satisfied with their compliance, she nodded and handed the crate over to the man on the right and retracted her kagure. "That's all I wanted. Feed your fam, patch him up. And maaybe I'll be back down here." The two ghouls stared at her in confusion as she gathered the cash and walked off, making her way back towards the surface. Hopefully she could catch her shows before she needed to hunt again.

Haise stepped out from the cafe, letting out a quiet sigh as he tightened the grip on his quinque. Where else did he need to be tonight? He stepped off to the side of the cafe as to not block the foot traffic as he thought of anything that had to be done. Did Arima have any of his books to return? He knew the man was borrowing a few, and they were certainly finished by now. The two just hadn't had a good time for Haise to pick up the books and take them back home. Looks like he'd have to make another trip to Arima tonight.

Then again, that could always wait until tomorrow. Yeah...he'd get those books tomorrow. Haise adjusted his white coat and began his walk down the sidewalk. Nothing left to do but go home, a small smile on his face as he walked through the large crowds of people. Perhaps he'd make some coffee when he got home, read a book and relax. He certainly needed some relaxation after his extremely hectic day. His eyes wandered about as he walked, his quinque bumping against him occasionally as he looked around at the various buildings absentmindedly.

Something caught his eye as he looked down one of the alleys beside him. Or rather, someone caught his eye. He stopped in his tracks as he watched someone rise up from the sewers, a strange mask covering her head. He could tell by her skin color that she was foreign, but what was with the mask? Unless...well...the only answer he could think of at the moment was the one he really didn't want to deal with. With a sigh he slowly made his way down the alley, his left hand gripping the case of his quinque tightly as he slowly approached the person. He didn't say anything to them..not yet at least. He'd most certainly scare them and send them back into the sewers if he talked while he was too far away.

"Sure! But if you don't like it, then I'm eating it!" Juuzou practically skipped to the counter, his eyes wide with joy as he looked at the wide variety of sweets they offered. He wasn't sure what to get! A few moments standing there (holding up more than one person and creating a bit of a line) had given him all the time he needed to decide. A slice of a 'Devils food' cake, and a slice of cheesecake! He quickly paid for the two pieces of cake and made his way over to where Hanako had taken a seat at.

Her attempts at covert eavesdropping was more than obvious to him, which prompted him to just see who she was listening in on. Two men by the looks of it, one of them having taken notice of the two. Juuzou didn't miss a beat as he slid the cheesecake over to Hanako and then rested the other cake on his side of the table. Their briefcases made them certainly stick out like a sore thumb, something Juuzou didn't mind at all. In fact, whether or not Juuzou even cared about the two nearby was being kept secret by his rather impressive poker face. He had already began to eat his food before Hanako, looking like he gave the two men no thought at all. The only one who really knew what Juuzou was thinking at the moment was Juuzou himself.

Bakko slipped out from the passage way from the depths with a tired huff, adjusting her mask back into place. A trip to the 24th ward was draining enough, but having a look around to see what hole she popped out of made her slump. "Oh for the love of.." she groaned, speaking English under her breath. It was way too late for wrong turns and winding up in the 15th ward wasn't as bad as being chased into a ward farther away than this. But at least it was a short subway ride away right?

which train was it again? ah dammit all, my midnight deadline isn't... The sabertooth mask's thoughts stopped dead in their tracks from a sound behind her. Someone else in the alley. Another ghoul? A cop? She turned her head over her shoulder, a man walking with his grip on a weapon. A weapon she was sure was meant to take her out if she messed up, but it he seemed just as unsure about this as she was. Must've surprised him too. With her guard still up she turned completely around and sighed. "Oh sorry, did I scare you sir?" she said in the best Japanese she could muster from being so tired from the day. Something was off about this, it made the hairs on the back of her neck stand but she did a good enough job not to show it. Something about this man didn't seem right. He was short, yes, much shorter than most but that had been a given considering that she wasn't from here.

But his scent.

Something was off and his scent was raising all sorts of red flags.

Behind the friendly and somewhat nervous facade, she was very ready to fight for her life if this was, indeed an ambush.

"I think I lost my way down there. Do you happen to know how to get to the train station from here?" She asked, her accent very thick and stumbling over some of her words. If she could fool this guy into letting her go, she could actually get some sleep for the night. Fighting even just investigator was the last thing she wanted tonight.

Noticing that his new found friends had seemingly drifted off into some sort of trance Leon made his way out of the good doctor's office and into the hallways of the 15th ward CCG Building, Looking for something to do while he waited on his next assignment. Her had not received any word from the top on what to do so he found himself in a bit of bind trying to make use of himself while he was still up and wide awake. It was after all dawning upon them the hours at which Ghouls began their nightly hunts and likewise the time at which Investigators and CCG Agents like Leon should be out stalking them and protecting the innocent. After all, that's why Leon became a CCG Agent in the first place as he wanted to have the power to protect those who could not protect themselves. He passed by the front of the building on one of his strolls around it and saw a man walk in with a girl in tow. He seemed banged up from sort of fight most likely with a ghoul considering the amount of blood that was splattered upon his clothing. Leon ran up to him and past the RC gates to greet him and take care of the girl.

"Hey! Sir, you alright," Leon called out as he took a glance at the girl. She appeared to be unconscious but still breathing. The man however seemed to be knowingly avoiding the RC Gates having stopped right before them. Leon became a bit more cautious and drew his sidearm and poised himself to be able to strike or dodge if need be.

Remi Nunen
4th ward, bordering on the northern parts of the 13th.
The abrupt silence caught Remi off guard, and when Remi turned his head to see where the mans gaze lingered, he found the reason for the silence. Doves, two of them none the less. It wasn't like they were uncommon around these parts, but why did they have to show up right now? Couldn't they have gone anywhere else? Back to HQ preferably. Or maybe waited like five minutes? A loud sigh escaped Remi as moved his eyes off the two new arrivals. He wanted nothing to do with them; if anything he wished they would just get up and leave, but they seemed to have rattled the stranger who had yet to resume speaking. "If half of what you said is true, I shouldn't have to care about those two either, right?" Remi knew it was a dangerous assumption to make, but he hoped that it would rip the man's gaze off the two Doves. "I have lived around those things for 25 years, so why would one cup of coffee suddenly raise any alarms in their heads? One isn't even looking at us while the lady just seems a bit creeped out because of your lingering eyes." Now that seemed to do the trick.

"What!? I wasn't looking, not like that. I was looking at her, but not at her. You know what I mean." Remi couldn't help the chuckle that escaped him as the man struggled to regain his calm composure. He looked friendlier when he panic, his eyes stare seemingly miles away as he tried to row himself out of the chaotic waters he had gotten himself into.

"Relax, relax. I bet the boy is more up your ally anyways." Remi muttered in hushed tones, unsure of what unholy mess awaited if the man heard those words.

When the man first arrived in the foyer Corvo was relieved. It was, for him, a chance to put the girl down and clean himself off. A chance to finally get the situation sorted out with the CCG and to understand what his mission was here. But, as all things seemed to have been going, nothing was going according to plan. As the man drew his sidearm and leveled it in Corvo's direction, the Romanian's eyes narrowed as his grip grew reflexively tighter around the girl as he readied himself for potential trouble.

Keeping his tone low as to not awake the girl, Corvo spoke, "I would personally advise putting that right back where it belongs, friend. If you do anything, at all, for any reason, to put this child at risk, when I am finished with you I will personally see to it that the anti-rogue Ghoul forces of Romania have absolutely nothing to do with Japan or the CCG. Furthermore you will then have to explain, and yes, I would leave you alive, but I digress, you would have to explain to Japan why Romania has then barred any and all travel to or from this.... frontier style free for all."

Stepping forward as if daring the man to risk the child's life, and also because he knew he could turn at least fast enough to that he would take the bullet and she wouldn't, Corvo walked towards the RC gates and grunted, nodding towards them.

"Now, turn one of these off so I can find a place to put this girl down, and get your boss down here so that I can have a proper introduction to your rag tag CCG and, if you even do them, debrief on what I've encountered since I've arrived."
