Hokori
(The Quinque Eater)
(The Quinque Eater)
AAAAaaaaaagghhhhh-!
Hokori was double up over a pile of garbage bags in an alleyway somewhere, hand on his side as waves of agony washed over him. He pulled his hand away and a fresh spurt of blood followed it, prompting him to splutter up some more blood and reapply pressure on the wound quickly. That quinque had saved his life when he’d consumed it, but it hadn’t healed him completely. This was to be expected, given that he had almost been torn in half by those bastard doves. Hokori’s regenerative abilities were impressive, but it was not godlike. He needed sustenance still...
Back at the CCG HQ rumours from the official report of the infamous ‘Quinque Eater’ had already spread, reaching even the recesses of some online chat sites advice people discussed the ghoul and his incredible appearance. To think there were ghouls that powerful roaming the streets struck fear into those unsteeled to the hardships of facing such monsters. However, the report on Hokori was especially worrying as it set a precedent that those at the CCG has not experienced previously before. But at the same time, it provided invaluable information on the ghoul arsenal and how they were evolving. A ghoul capable of liquifying his kagune was dangerous enough, but being able to detach it to create rudimentary traps? This was an advanced level of predation that modern human capability had yet to catch up with. For now, agents would have to rely on their own skill and prowess to deal with these new dangers. As a result, Hokori’s rating had been understandably elevated to ‘SS’ simply for the deadly possibilities available to him and as a result of his actions the other day. He had murdered an agent, injured another and consumed his quinque. It was this last detail in the report that had earned him his new name ‘Quinque Eater’. He wouldn’t have heard about it yet, but one had to admit that the name was suitable.
“Bastard... doves. Bastard... faker. I’ll eat them, I’ll eat them...”
He wasn’t beaten yet, however. He stepped out from his corner of the alley and slowly made his way down the alley. The smell of blood was thick in the air, which meant that someone was feasting nearby. What ward was he in again? He couldn’t remember, but he was too hungry to care at this point. As Hokori rounded the corner, he saw ghouls eating a corpse. As one stood up to leave, Hokori’s vision to tunnelled onto his next meal. The remaining ghoul, sensing the malicious intent and the smell of more blood, rose from his crouched position and sprinted at the other injured ghoul, a ukaku kagune bursting out and enhancing his speed to near-unfollowable levels.
Of course, this didn’t faze Hokori in the slightest. Deadpan eyes coolly gazed at the oncoming projectiles ghoul with an irrepressible hunger, one that commanded absolute authority, demanded indefinite precedence. His hand shot out in an instant, gripping an ensnared neck and squeezing mercilessly. The ghoul struggled in Hokori’s grasp, multiple ukaku shards flying off in several directions. Unfazed. A split second later, Hokori lunges forward and sank his teeth into the exposed neck, followup bites savaging the body relentlessly. He consumed the ghoul as he held it up, taking very little time to eat the meatiest and more nutritious parts. He threw the mangled corpse down. More.
It was the loud electrical sounds that drew his attention, causing his caustic glare to swing over to the two figures further down the alley.
Sniff sniff.
The bloodstained, injured ghoul decisively stepped forward, commanding a gravity that overpowered those in the alley. The pure force of his will, the absoluteness his insatiable hunger manifesting in a powerful deadly intent that was unmistakeable to the remaining ghoul and investigator. News of Hokori’s rank change likely had spread as far as common knowledge, but it was possible these two weren’t aware of what he was capable of. Not that he was currently concerning himself with that. A single, thick rinkaku tentacle violently protruded from Hokori’s back, causing him to stagger for a moment before recovering and continuing his slow and steady stalk forwards. He had but one single thought burning deep in his hunger-crazed mind:
CONSUME
