together we will shine
Another fansign, another comback, another music bank to perform. Tirelessly they work, together they create, all at once they inspire. They wake up, work on songs, do promotions, practice til the break of dawn, "rest" and then repeat. Idols live for their fans. Well, that's what they say anyway. Keeping up an image is just as important as your talent in this world. Those who say otherwise are naive or controversial at best. Many groups have come before them, and many will after, but this is the time of their lives. What better way to spend it with friends?
Fan wars aside, most groups and soloists get along. Aside from a few bad eggs, any groups of people has them, they enjoy each others company. This is their job. Idols may be passionate about their job, but for most it's not a competition. In fact, many idols from all different labels are friends, if not best friends. There are notorious "lines" with group chats. Others collaborate often and enjoy working together. Others keep their relationship behind closed doors. Especially if that relationship is beyond just friends.
These idols have found something great. A close group of friends who have helped each other through thick and thin. Going out for dinners, late night karaoke, hilarious text conversations, special stages, and dare I say a little romance. Each with their own struggles, own failures and own strengths. Let's just hope dispatch doesn't ruin our fun.
QaG Entertainment
Dubbed the lesser of two evils, QaG was founded by Jeong Dae-Geun. The multi-million dollar company is one of the oldest in the industry. It is often said that idols from QaG have some of the strictest contracts when first signing. They often include dating bans and strict weight and dietary requirements. They have a total of 7 groups under their main label, four boy groups and three girl groups, as well as some duos and many soloists.
WAVE Entertainment
The second oldest company with even more of a reputation. It was created, and headed, Kim Sung-Il. Having a few lawsuits been thrown their way, especially in the last year, has called into question their dealings with their talent. With a grand total of 5 groups, 3 duos, and even more soloists, they have quite the staff. Their contracts are extremely strict, even takingmost some creative freedom from their artists.
Other companies include:
DayDream Entertainment
A small company that has come out in the past few years. With their female CEO, Han Da-Yun, their artists seem to push barriers with music and fashion. They have two groups and three soloists. Idols are give a lot of freedoms within the company to be themselves and to create what they'd like. They are very art focused.
BNH Entertainment
After the huge success of their first boy group, they have skyrocketed to the top in less than five years. A lot of people have high hopes for this company to help clean up the king and queen of entertainment. They value their artists, though are more traditional in values. They have since debuted one new group in addition to the first, as well as signed a soloist .
Pantomime
Bigger in comparison to companies the same age, Pantomime is a bit in the middle when it comes to their dealings with idols. They have a tendency to overreact to certain issues and rumors. While their contracts may not be as confining, negative press will be sure to put one in hot water. A few scandals recently left a few groups missing members. You can say some fans are a bit outraged over how the company seems to feed their idols to the wolves instead of protecting them. They have a total of 3 groups, two duos, and 7 soloists.
