together we will shine
Another fansign, another comback, another music bank to perform. Tirelessly they work, together they create, all at once they inspire. They wake up, work on songs, do promotions, practice til the break of dawn, "rest" and then repeat. Idols live for their fans. Well, that's what they say anyway. Keeping up an image is just as important as your talent in this world. Those who say otherwise are naive or controversial at best. Many groups have come before them, and many will after, but this is the time of their lives. What better way to spend it with friends?

Fan wars aside, most groups and soloists get along. Aside from a few bad eggs, any groups of people has them, they enjoy each others company. This is their job. Idols may be passionate about their job, but for most it's not a competition. In fact, many idols from all different labels are friends, if not best friends. There are notorious "lines" with group chats. Others collaborate often and enjoy working together. Others keep their relationship behind closed doors. Especially if that relationship is beyond just friends.

These idols have found something great. A close group of friends who have helped each other through thick and thin. Going out for dinners, late night karaoke, hilarious text conversations, special stages, and dare I say a little romance. Each with their own struggles, own failures and own strengths. Let's just hope dispatch doesn't ruin our fun.

companies, groups, and soloists... oh my

Companies
There are many label companies. Each with their own reputation and level of success. There are two huge companies that seem to rule the stage.

QaG Entertainment
Dubbed the lesser of two evils, QaG was founded by Jeong Dae-Geun. The multi-million dollar company is one of the oldest in the industry. It is often said that idols from QaG have some of the strictest contracts when first signing. They often include dating bans and strict weight and dietary requirements. They have a total of 7 groups under their main label, four boy groups and three girl groups, as well as some duos and many soloists.

WAVE Entertainment
The second oldest company with even more of a reputation. It was created, and headed, Kim Sung-Il. Having a few lawsuits been thrown their way, especially in the last year, has called into question their dealings with their talent. With a grand total of 5 groups, 3 duos, and even more soloists, they have quite the staff. Their contracts are extremely strict, even taking most some creative freedom from their artists.

Other companies include:
DayDream Entertainment
A small company that has come out in the past few years. With their female CEO, Han Da-Yun, their artists seem to push barriers with music and fashion. They have two groups and three soloists. Idols are give a lot of freedoms within the company to be themselves and to create what they'd like. They are very art focused.

BNH Entertainment
After the huge success of their first boy group, they have skyrocketed to the top in less than five years. A lot of people have high hopes for this company to help clean up the king and queen of entertainment. They value their artists, though are more traditional in values. They have since debuted one new group in addition to the first, as well as signed a soloist .

Pantomime
Bigger in comparison to companies the same age, Pantomime is a bit in the middle when it comes to their dealings with idols. They have a tendency to overreact to certain issues and rumors. While their contracts may not be as confining, negative press will be sure to put one in hot water. A few scandals recently left a few groups missing members. You can say some fans are a bit outraged over how the company seems to feed their idols to the wolves instead of protecting them. They have a total of 3 groups, two duos, and 7 soloists.

Groups
These are some of the most popular groups and notable members.

Boy Groups
QaG
MWD (Magnificence With Dedication) - 5 member group that debuted in 2012. Their fan name is Majesties. -Notable Members: Baek Sung-Woo
ViVid- 7 member group that debuted in 2017. Their fan name is ํ™”๋ฏธ (hwami, meaning splendor). ViVid debuted with a bright fun concept with their EP "Lemon Yellow". With each new comeback, they've changed their color theme. The color sets the tone of the album. Since they have released two full albums. "Cadet Blue" was their first comeback. It was an energetic, space exploration theme that had their signature boyish charm. Their most recent comeback, "Eerie Black", broke their norm with a dark horror concept.
-Notable members: Kim Seung-Jun and Hong Red (Joon)

WAVE
2BInfinity- 9 member group that debuted in 2014.
-Notable Members: Bailey Moon

DayDream
Creativity In You (CIY)- 13 member group that debuted in 2016. Their fan name is visionary (individuals: visionaries). Their group was made to create. They focus on art, their concepts based on the message. They have a unique sound that is often a fusion of different genres. Their dance is full of group work, with synchronicity and teamwork that the group is proud of. They are almost entirely self produced and self choreographed. They have had three full album releases and four EPs. Each with a different 'story', some personal and some not. Their most recent comeback was a full length album "Birth to Death" with title track "Lived". The album has an underlying classical sound, as it takes the listener through each stage of life.
-Notable Members: Park Ari

BNH
LGND (Live Greatly, Never Doubt)- 6 member group that debuted in 2015. Their fan name is legendaries and their official colors are gold and violet. No one can become a legend overnight. LGND's concept is to work their way into being legends. Their debut ep had 4 pop songs and each ep after, they add one more song and alter their sound slightly. Their first full length album had 11 songs and each album after added one more. They just released their fourth full length, total of 15 songs, with a really gritty rock ballad sound.
-Notable Members: Palmer Jeong and Quinn Lee

Girl Groups
QaG
Youth Fountain- 6 member group that debuted in 2019. Their fan name is HEBE. Youth fountain debuted with a bright & bubbly concept that alluded to their name, to bring "youth" and joy to those who listened to their music! WAVE
MIX5- 9 member group that debuted in 2013. Their fan name is Jewel. They have a very sweet and adorable vibe. The strive to be bright and excited. MIX5 is well known for their girly concepts. Their music is mostly bubblegum pop, though a few comebacks have strayed a little outside of that.
Blossom- 4 member group that debuted in 2017. Their fan name is Solis. Blossom debuted with a concept where each member would represent one of the four seasons showing in every comeback a new charm and evolving as an artist just like the seasons do. Since their debut, they had released two full-length studio albums. Ther music is known for its intense and sophisticated melodies mixed with the current sounds, that are made to showcase the different charms from the members. Their official colors are emerald green and aubergine.
-Notable Members: Lee Nari & Baek Ji-Eun

BNH
Voyage- 11 member group that debuted in 2018.

Pantomime
V!CTRY- 8 member group that debuted in 2016.

Mixed Gender Groups
WAVE
MXFusion- 4 member subunit between MIX5 and 2BInfinity that had it's first, and only, EP come out in 2016. A new comeback has been rumored to be around the corner.

DayDream
Yin/Yang (Y/Y)- 8-member group that debuted in Summer of 2018. Their general fan name is โ€œdualsโ€, but fans have the option to specify their loyalty to either subunit by using their respective fan names. Y/Yโ€™s concept revolves around the idea of contrasting ideals while exploring the meaning of โ€œYin & Yang.โ€ Their two subunits strictly adhere to their light and dark assignments both on stage and off stage (during v lives and variety shows). The two subunit groups only collab with each other during concerts. Other than that, they rarely promote together and are regarded as their own separate groups.
----- Night/Fall
Night/Fall is the darker subunit of Y/Y (all older members are in this subunit). Their subunit fan name is โ€œumbrasโ€ because the members consider the name to be very picturesque, which is โ€œa perfect description of our fanbase.โ€ Night/Fall focuses on more gritty rock songs (with a touch of electronic here and there) that typically have a deeper meaning behind them. These songs can vary in energy. According to fans, Night/Fall is not seen to be as strong in vocals (compared to Sun/Rise), but rather the โ€œdancing kinds/queensโ€ of Y/Y (due to how their songs are also choreo-heavy). Their first EP was called โ€œBerserk.โ€
-Notable Members: Min Galaxy
----- Sun/Rise

Soloists
These soloists are the most notable among kpop fans.

Male
Moon Hwan (under QaG)- Making his solo debut in 2018, Hwan moved on from disbanded group Aftermath to make his own name. Within his two years, he has taken the world by storm. His concepts have ranged from aegyo to "dirty sexy". Hwan's duality is a huge part of his brand.
Ju Song-Bin (under WAVE)- Debuting in 2015, Song-Bin is well known for his superior vocals. He is a ballad singer and has been a part of many ost albums, as well as acted quite a bit.
Alex Kim (under Pantomime)- The solo rapper made his debut in 2016. He had started as a producer for different groups until he decided he wanted to try and make his own music. He is an idol favorite, not just because he makes extraordinary bops, but he's just a great dude. Alex is one of those idols who's friends with everyone. It doesn't matter if you stan him or not, you know who he is.

Female
Younah (under QaG)- Debuted in 2014. She is most notable for her girl crush concepts and spitting killer bars. Her dancing is some of the best in the industry, even compared to some of the other male soloists. Everyone loves Younah, she's a certified queen.
Katherine Hong (under DayDream)- The former MIX5 member made her debut as a soloist in 2018 after leaving WAVE Entertainment in 2016. She has a singer-songwriter vibe and really shines in her ability to write and produce songs. She's written some for other groups, including Yin/Yang and CIY.
Park Ha-Jung (under Pantomime)- With a diverse new sound, Ha-Jung is fresh to the kpop scene, only debuting in 2019. Her debut song went to top the charts for it's retro feel. Ha-Jung shows great promise on stage, and everyone is excited to watch her grow.

Kim Seung-Jun
mood: karaoke is life | location: noraebang
interactions: Hong Joon ( Uxie Uxie ) | Outfit: goin out
Comeback time was always a bit on the hectic side of things. It wasn't that Seung-Jun usually had an easy schedule. If they weren't preparing for a comeback, they were on tour, and if they weren't doing either of those things, they were doing some other promotions. QaG made sure that ViVid was kept busy. Being busy kept them out of trouble. Well, that strategy definitely did not work for Jun, but that was besides the point. The idol was grateful for the hustle and bustle. It kept him from allowing his mind to wander on it's own, knowing it had an affinity for the darkness that lurked just below the sunshine facade he put out. He was basically living from distraction to distraction. Without them, he didn't feel human.

So, the fact they had a good chunk of free time made Seung-Jun anxious to make plans elsewhere. Friday was a half day of practice. He could have stayed over later, because Jun always felt he could use more practice. His manager, however, would not let him. Despite his constant reassurance that he was fine, the older man knew that he needed time off. Especially since recording earlier in the week. It had taken him three times as long to record his solo song than it had in the past. He had been aware that this song was very different and that he could possibly have a hard time with getting things out the way he wanted. The man hadn't expected to stand in the recording booth and only sing the first few lines, unable to get the rest out through the tears. After taking about an hour to calm down, his second attempt barley got any farther than the first.

He was told to try again the next day. Which he did. Thankfully Seung-Jun was able to get through the second session, only getting choked up a few times. That was only because he had spent the rest of the day before practicing and practicing until he could almost completely remove himself from the lyrics. He tried his best to numb himself to the words he was saying. The end result of recording was something he was proud of. Even if he was trying to detach himself the best of his ability, one could hear the honest emotion in Jun's voice. When he said the phrase "I miss you" he meant it. That left him totally drained, both physically and emotionally. The singing and crying had left his voice horse for the next few days.

Having been with his raw, vulnerable emotions very recently, there was no part of Seung-Jun that wanted to sit and be alone. It had been a no brainier to accept the quick suggestion to go out for karaoke. Lighthearted fun with friends was what he needed. Continue to ignore the problems and they'll go away right? That's what's worked for him so far. Why wouldn't it work now? After practice, a shower, and a nice long conversation with his mother, Seung-Jun got dressed and ready for their little night out. It seemed like a lot of their mixed-matched group was on board to come. Of course the usual karaoke pals were going, Eun-Bi (who he was determined to beat this time) and Ji-Eun. Usually Jun could get Sung-Woo to come with a bit of begging. Kat hadn't been able to come the past few times but she had maneuvered things last minute to join them.

There were others that he had never gotten the pleasure of crushing in a duet battle. Quinn had never come along with them, so that was exciting. Kyung-Mo had just gotten back from tour a few weeks ago, so he couldn't remember the last time he saw the kid, let alone met up at the local noraebang. He was fairly certain that Eun-Bi was dragging Soo-Ah along. He was sure that Nari and Palmer had also agreed to come. Jun wasn't sure about the rest, the invitation had been open so everyone could be there. He was pretty sure there was a room big enough for all of them.

Joon, his roommate and fellow ViVid member, had agreed to come along as well. The pair had decided to go together, it seemed silly to go separate. He had been somewhat surprised that the younger had decided to join them. It was, of course, a pleasant type of surprise. Once the two slipped into the room, Seung-Jun quickly began going through the list to see what he wanted to sing. "What are you going to sing Joonie?" He asked, not looking up from the list. He quickly put his hand up as he sat up straight in his seat. "Wait wait, let me guess, either 'Candied Kiss' or 'Beautiful Forever' by MIX5!" He added, grinning up at him with a bit of mischief. He was looking forward to this. If he didn't win, he knew he'd get some good laughs out of being with everyone. Though, he was a bit of a sore loser, so it'd be even better if he won. Seung-Jun was also set on getting everyone to sing at least one song, even if they fought him on it. Oh yes, he was going to have fun, even if he had to force himself to.

Baek Sung-Woo

2020 for sure has been one of the busiest years for Sung-Woo, he hasn't stopped working after all the members resign their contracts the company was more willing to let them do more of the solo stuff rather than just focusing only into the group comebacks. All the members were happy that they were able to showcase new sides of them and also to continue as a group.

But that didn't make things easier for any of them after MWD comeback in February, Sung-Woo had to prepare for his comeback as a soloist in April with another mini-album and soon it was going to be announced he was going to have another comeback with his first full-length album in July and a comeback for MWD in September was most likely to happen.

Some might think he wasn't resting enough and probably Sung-Woo would agree, but he didn't mind, he was happy to do something he loved and seeing that the company was still giving them comebacks even after many years of debuting and even if there were more groups, don't take him wrong, he was happy that ViVid and Youth Fountain were successful, but it wasn't a secret that once new groups debuted the old groups were pushed back and their activities were less constant.

So when he had free time he wanted to rest as much as he could, there was some planning going on about going to karaoke, Sung-Woo was reluctant, it wasn't because he disliked his friends as someone who was more into the introverted side he was surprised he got along with that many people, maybe because he was dragged to hang out and that's how they meet more people, but he just wanted to spend a relaxing day without having to go to loud places or with overexcited people he could just be on his own without anyone bothering him.

That would have been the perfect plan for Sung-Woo if Hyunwoo hasn't come and asked him to accompany him to a date with the girl he was seeing. Was it Sori again? Or another girl this time? Sung-Woo had already lost track of the dating history of Hyunwoo, he was even surprised he hasn't be caught on a dating scandal yet, but after having to third-wheel all the time when Noah and BonBon started dating and Sori and Hyunwoo started seeing each other, Sung-Woo just wanted to run away at the thought of being the awkward chaperone, so with that in mind Sung-Woo agree of going to the karaoke. Singing a couple of songs with his friends was better than seeing Hyunwoo on another date.

Sung-Woo arrived at the noraebang and saw the time, it was still quite early. Would he be the first one to arrive? He knew Ji-Eun and Nari from her group were coming, but his younger sister wasn't known for being punctual when it came to casual gatherings, he headed towards the room all of them were supposed to reunite, he heard some voices coming from inside so he felt relieved he wasn't going to be the first one to be there when he opened the door, he encountered by his labelmates.

He knew both of them since they were part of ViVid, Jun was the one he could call friend they were the same age and they spend some time together while Jun was still a trainee and Sung-Woo was a rookie, the other half of the ViVid members that was there was Joon and their relationship was something, to say the least, was Sung-Woo scared of Joon? The answer was yes, Seung-Woo was sure the guy had already planned 100 different ways to kill him when he helped him with one of the songs from his mini-album. This is really going to be the distraction Sung-Woo was looking for, now having to accompany Hyunwoo to his date didn't sound that bad.

"Hi, it seems you are already searching for songs has something caught your attention yet?" he asked trying not to sound awkward for trying to start a conversation with his friend and his possible murderer.

when eunbi had first suggested the outing, joon hadn't been planning on attending. he'd barely participated in the group chat, and though eunbi would've whined in his ear for ages for not showing up, the main reason was just to make sure his hyung was okay. he'd been there, of course, sitting on the other side of the booth while seung-jun had struggled to get through the song. the rapper had written it in hopes of helping seung-jun with his grief, but now he was more concerned that he had made it worse. he'd have been a little more critical since this was seung-jun's solo debut, but he'd held back his words when he saw the struggle in his roommate's eyes. "i think that one was good." joon had remarked when seung-jun had finally made it past the last verse without breaking down, though he was sure he'd ask him back to record additional vocals. not just yet, though.

"what are you going to sing, joonie?" seung-jun's voice startled him, and joon realised he'd practically been zoning out while listening to the random songs being played in the empty karaoke room. they were the first ones here, surprisingly, since he remembered the youth fountain girls making a big deal over not being late, though he supposed they had both been very busy with their upcoming comebacks. he opened his mouth to reply, but was quickly cut off by seung-jun's crack at his fondness for MIX5, responding to seung-jun's grin with a deadpan look adorned with the slightest blush. you let a guy get you into a legendary girl group and suddenly he's always teasing you for it. it wasn't his fault MIX5's tracks were good. "maybe 'beautiful forever'." he admitted almost begrudgingly, "but i don't think i'll do too many songs today. not quite as good at singing as the rest of you lot."

he leaned closer to seung-jun, glancing over his shoulder at the list in his hands. "what about you, hyung?" joon made a face at his current selection of songs, losing interest quickly and searching around instead for the menu. he was sort of hungry and was craving some chicken, but more importantly, a bottle of soju. ah, they had his favourite brand-

the door cracked open then with a click, and joon jumped at the noise, glancing up to meet the gaze of the newcomer. sung-woo seemed to visibly stiffen at the sight of the rapper, and joon raised an eyebrow at him. "hi, it seems you are already searching for songs has something caught your attention yet?" the rapper could almost hear the creak in his throat as his voice came out. maybe sung-woo was scarred by how difficult he'd been during recording, but he was only making sure the song was up to standards. he was a veteran idol, after all.

"seung-jun hyung has the song list." he responded coolly, tipping his chin in his groupmate's direction, "you can see if there's anything to your liking." he turned his attention back to the menu in his hands. how many bottles of soju would they need to feed the entire group? 8? he remembered eunbi being somewhat of an alcoholic-

the door slammed open once more, startling joon and causing him to let out an irritated noise. speak of the devil, eunbi, in all of her annoyingly excitable glory, with a less excited soo-ah tailing her. "we're here! on time!" she announced with a flourish, trotting in and pulling youth fountain's maknae in with her. "what songs are you all looking at? please put in my usual, my magnum opus." her gaze flitted to joon, then to the drinks he was browsing, "and please, two bottles of soju at least. i'm ready to party!"

joon rolled his eyes. "yes ma'am," he said dryly, turning to face seung-jun and sung-woo instead so as to cut the female idol out of his line of sight, "how many bottles are you guys feeling for?"

Baek Ji-Eun

For Ji-Eun it was always fun to hang out with friends when they had free time, their busy schedules always kept them apart, so when they were able to gather together and just have some fun as if they were not idols and had thousands of fans instead they just saw each other like normal people who just happened to share the same dream.

That day Ji-Eun didn't have anything scheduled so she could just enjoy her day doing what she wanted, she managed to convince Kyung-Mo to hang out with her, the guy just came back from a tour and had some time before he went back to his schedule, she wasn't sure if the guy accepted because he really missed Ji-Eun or because the girl annoyed the hell out of him until he accepted.

So here they were eating before they went to the karaoke meeting with the rest of their friends "How was the tour? Did you get me anything? Last time I went overseas I brought you a gift if you didn't bring me anything our friendship is over and I know you won't ever find a better best friend" she said jokingly as she continued eating.

Ji-Eun wasn't sure how long they had been talking and catching up with the other until she checked her phone and see it was almost time for the karaoke with their friends, she wondered who would go? There were some people that agree while some others just didn't' say anything and could probably show up at the last minute.

"Come on KyuKyu, we have to go or will be late and I won't let them choose the best songs from the karaoke!" she said to her friend before they left to go to the noraebang, it didn't take them long until they arrived at the reunion spot, Ji-Eun couldn't hide her emotion to see her friends and have some fun with them she rushed to the room where everyone was gathering she opened the room to be faced with familiar faces some she was closed than others and one specific face that she knew since she was born "Sung-Woo! I thought you wouldn't come because you are a hermit" she said excitedly to her brother as she tried to rush for a hug which Sung-Woo refused Now that you are here I'm going to leave her brother replied in a teasing way.

It didn't take long until another voice was heard which belonged to Joon "how many bottles are you guys feeling for?" Ji-Eun was sure he was referring to Soju and she was ready to drink with her friends "I would like one!" she said excitedly just to listening to her brother again "You are not going to drink" after listening to this Ji-Eun pout annoyed at her brother "You always take the fun away, by the way where is KyuKyu? We came together and I don't see him anywhere"

Park Kyung-Mo
mood: i'm here for the people. | location: noraebang |
interactions: Ji-Eun ( Stardust Galaxy Stardust Galaxy ) & the karaoke crew | Outfit: karaoke fun... |
Could things be more boring? Kyung-Mo was really over this whole extended break thing. He understood why it was important, and for the sake of the other members he was glad they had gotten one. When they had first gotten back from their overseas tour, the first week went by fast. Mostly because he slept through the majority of it. Between working hard, not sleeping well while traveling, and jet lag, Kyung-Mo was absolutely exhausted. So having that time to rest, play some video games, and just get some time to himself was nice.

After a week of sleeping he had his personal mix-tape to work on. He had been working on it on and off while on tour and before. Kyung-Mo only had a few more things to tweak and move around, a few more vocals to record and he was just about finished with all he could do. He had met a stand still since he had yet to ask about the one song he had planned as a collaboration. He was dragging his feet to ask Nari about it. The idol was starting to wonder if it was even a good idea to begin with.

The second week of break was much much longer. He hated how slow the time went. Being constantly busy was something he loved about being an idol. He loved to practice, he loved to work, so not doing anything was making him restless. Some of his other members were visiting family or going on vacations. He had attempted to do the same, but his Eomma told him it would just cause more problems than he hoped to solve. That idea went out the window. Kyung-Mo liked to travel, but they had just been through the majority of North and South America as well as Europe. CIY had a lot more international fans than a lot of other groups, and DayDream wanted them to meet as many of them in different countries as possible. He loved that, but he was done with getting in an air plane and packing for the next few weeks. Even video games and doing dance covers was starting to get boring.

When all of his friends said they were going to do Karaoke, Kyung-Mo didn't take anytime to agree. He didn't like karaoke. It wasn't because he couldn't sing, he could fairly well. His hyungs, however, ruined it for him since apparently his voice was adorable and sweet. Though to sit at home would be a much worse fate than spending time with his friends even if it was karaoke. Even better yet, Ji-Eun had told him she had spare time to hang out if he wanted to.

So there they were, before everyone got together, eating lunch and catching up. They hadn't hung out since he had gotten back due to her schedule being so tight. That was the case with most of his other friends as well. While he wouldn't admit it to her face, he missed Ji-Eun and the rest of the gang. They texted often, but it just wasn't the same as when they got to do things together. She asked about tour and if he had gotten her any gifts. He laughed at her threat if he hadn't gotten her anything. "Tour was great. Exhausting, but really fun. Of course I got you something, what kind of friend do you think I am? It's from Argentina, I believe, but I forgot to bring it. I'll make sure to get it to you soon, you'll be there tomorrow, right?" He asked. They had a beach day planned for Saturday and he was very excited about that.

And fairly soon it was time to leave and meet up with everyone else. Ji-Eun dragged him down the street. He cringed slightly when she called him KyuKyu. He had almost been able to forget about the annoyingly cute nickname she had given him. He didn't have the heart to tell her it annoyed him though. He got distracted by the menu posted outside the door while Ji-Eun went straight inside. Kyung-Mo slipped into the room right after he heard her asking where he was. "I'm right here, what did I miss?" He replied quickly.

Seung-Jun was quick to answer him, "We're getting soju," He shortly looked over at Joon, who was holding the menu, "one for me by the way, oh and Ji-Eunnie called Sung-Woo a hermit." Kyung-Mo snorted at the end of his sentence.

"I'll drink," He said shortly, before taking a seat. He saw the look in Jun eye's that told him he wanted to say something. "I swear Seung-Jun Hyung..."

"What? I wasn't going to say anything MoMo
. I'm just not sure if they serve sippy cups with soju," Kyung-Mo rolled his eyes in response. "Alright, a few more and we can get started, you're first right Eunbi-ah? I want to see what I'm up against so I can crush your high score," Seung-Jun continued, looking over at Eunbi with the grumpy looking Soo-Ah close by. Ari smiled a little to himself. It was nice to be with friends again.

So... yep. Palmer had managed to completely forget about the fact that tonight was karaoke night, despite having texted about it quite recently. He knew he should've put it on his phone calendar to avoid this very thing, but he didn't and was now suffering the consequences.

Even though LGND had their comeback a few weeks ago, Palmer was back in the studio recording the cover he was going to drop in a week or so as well as preparing for his solo EP. Now that was going to be a big surprise for Legendaries. He hadn't made any announcements about it or even hinted that he was working on it. He was just gonna drop it one day like "surprise!"

He'd spent pretty much all day in the studio and probably would have spent most of the night there too had Hajun not texted him. Palmer quickly checked his watch to see how late he was and he was hella late. Well shit.

Palmer quickly ran to the car, manager in tow, and plugged in the address for the karaoke place. "Go go go!" he shouted and his manager, who was cool as shit, stepped on the accelerator (though drove safely of course). Soon, he arrived at the noraebang and burst out of the car. He paused to ask the hostess where everyone was and then speed walked over. The doors were shut, which made it the perfect opportunity for him to play Kesha's Tik Tok as he walked in. Perfect.

Palm tree pulled out his phone and began playing Tik Tok, fast forwarding to the part he wanted. As soon as it hit "now the party don't start till I walk in", he threw open the doors, quoting every word. He let the song play a little bit after he walked in, taking in everyone that was here already. There was Sungwoo-hyung and Jun-hyung, Ari, Joon, Eun-bi, Soo-ah and Ji-eun. So, yeah, he was late.

He let them recover from his dramatic entrance, pausing the music and pocketing his phone. "Sup? Y'all miss me?" He didn't even give them a chance to answer before moving on. "Are we ordering food? I'm starving. Been at the studio all day. I could also go for some alcohol, too. Actually, a lot of alcohol. Yeah."

The Kiwi's eyes lingered on Ari and Jun since it had been the longest since he'd seen either of them, but then they stayed on Jun. Having always been gifted with the ability to read people, he could tell there was something up with his friend, his hyung. It was in Jun's eyes, his expression, the way he carried himself, as if he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Palmer, ever the empathist, didn't waste a second before walking over and sitting next to Seungjun. "Hi hyung," he greeted. He didn't ask how he was doing, because he already knew that answer. "I'm gonna sing a song with Jun-hyung." he announced with finality to everyone at the table. He'd absolutely be singing with Jun, no doubt about it. He nudged Seung-Jun's shoulder slightly, both in part to get his attention and to let him know that Palmer was here for him. "Do you wanna split something with me?" Everyone knew he could absolutely crush whatever food was put in front of him, but he'd rather share with a friend.

While waiting for an answer, Palmer's gaze wandered around the table and locked eyes with Ari. He grinned, eyes flashing with a promise to catch up later. Then he turned back to Jun. "Also, what do you want to sing? You're singing with me, no backing out."

where are you?

at the studio. why?

Satisfied with the reaction he got out of Joon, Seung-Jun went back to looking at the list of songs. He was soon joined by his younger member while the looked at the many choices that they had to pick from. The question was passed over to him. What was he going to sing? Jun was incredibly indecisive, so it would probably take him forever to make his choice. "I'm not sure yet, If Palmer wasn't coming I'd probably pick something off of LGND's new album, but I don't want to give him a big head," He joked just before he heard the door open. He looked up to hear Sung-Woo also ask about song choice. He smiled over at his friend, someone he's known for years.

He nodded along as Joon explained that he had the list. "I'm glad you could join us! I didn't even have to beg you this time," He laughed as he held the list over to the MWD member, "Go ahead and look, staring at the list isn't going to make me decide any faster." He could somewhat pick up on the tense fashion that Sung-Woo had walked in. It must have had something to do with Joon. Though he couldn't be sure. The vocalist was never this way with him, but they had spent a lot of time together and he knew that Sung-Woo was quite the introvert. And so was Joon. But they got to work together. He just ignored it and moved on. Acknowledging the awkwardness made it worse and they were meant to be having fun.

Yet another intruder burst into the singing room, as Eun-Bi walked in, toting the Youth Fountain maknae Soo-Ah along with her. Seung-Jun smiled up at her excitedly, laughing a bit when she stated she was ready to party. He could always count on her to bring the fun with her. The first time they met all they did was joke the whole entire award show. Which looking back knowing what he did now, he was surprised that dating rumors didn't come out of that. "You got it!" He chirped as he typed in the familiar numbers for Eun-Bi. She sang the song every time they went out, and the group went out to Karaoke quite a bit. It's probably why she beat him last time. He picked a song he had never sang before. Yeah, let's go with that.

And the group just seemed to continue to grow as Ji-Eun came in, getting a cackle out of Seung-Jun over her calling her brother a hermit. She was followed by Kyung-Mo who came in shortly after her. Seeing how the Baek siblings interacted reminded him of his own sisters. He should really call them to check on them. He was the man of the family now. That was part of his job right? All of this was new and everything about it was hard. He wasn't going to worry about that right now, he was here to forget that he was sad, remember. After catching Ari up on everything that happened while he was out and putting his drink order in for one bottle of soju, he grabbed the mic and handed it over to Eun-Bi who had already picked her first song.

The conversation had come to a lull as everyone was trying to decide what they wanted to sing, eat, and drink. Seung-Jun thought that maybe he'd sing one of Sung-Woo's solo tracts, he saw them on the list. He quite liked Hold Me from his last mini album. Just as he was looking at the list for the number to the song he had decided on, the door burst open and music started playing. He watched as Palmer made his dramatic entrance blaring...was that Kesha? Well, what ever it was, Seung-Jun started laughing. "Ever the dramatic, huh Palmer?" He called over to his younger friend.

Palmer made his way to sit right next to him. His chipper attitude was met with a smile from Jun. He was happy for the nearby company. "Hi Kiwi," He said affectionately as he slung his arm over his shoulder for a side hug. He pulled his arm back to his side just to hear Palmer announce that he was singing a song with him. "Are you now?" He teasingly asked. There was a moment when he wondered why he was being so lovely today. It had been awhile since they had seen each other, with LGND just having a comeback and ViVid preparing for theirs. However, the small nudge on his shoulder and reassuring look he got from his friend showed a lot. He almost seemed worried. Did someone tell Palmer? His eyes wandered over to Joon momentarily, no, he'd never say anything. He'd trusted Joon with worse secrets, and he had never been one to gossip. Maybe Palmer just picked up on something that he was doing. A feeling of warmth fell over him, a kind smile towards him as the question about food came next. "Sure, we can get a couple things and share," Jun replied happily. Even if it was possibly all in his head that Palmer was doing all of this because he noticed something was up, if felt nice. He felt seen, heard even. That was a comfort in it's self. Right, singing. "Me, back out? Never," He quickly shot back, he thought of how they had first met doing a duet together at an award show. That was a much simpler time. "Just like old times huh?" The older added, bringing a hand up to ruffle Palmer's hair, "I was thinking about Sung-Woo's Hold Me, but we can do whatever!"

A quick survey around the room told him they were still missing some, but they could be late, it wasn't like any of them minded. Well, that wasn't true. Eun-Bi would probably complain, even if she and Soo-Ah had shown up a bit late as well. "Who else is singing together? Who's challenging who? It isn't fun without a competition," He questioned the group, reading and excited to get started.

If she was being honest, karaoke wasn't really something Jihyun wanted to do tonight. She had nothing against anyone in the group chat, but considering she'd muted the whole thing a few nights ago because they were being annoying... well, she wasn't exactly sure she wanted to hang with them.

Multiple hours of yelling and drinking? Mmm yeah, maybe not. She saw that they were talking about doing a karaoke night tonight but had muted it before everyone chimed in whether or not they were coming. So she had no idea who was even going and had put it all in the back of her mind. There were many more pressing matters.

For one, being the leader of a group/sub-unit was just hard in and of itself. Two, Night/Fall was planning a surprise comeback in the beginning of September. Day/Light wasn't making a comeback so Night/Fall was on their own for it and she had a lot of shit to do to make sure it was perfect. And three, she was a guest judge and mentor on a new survival show and that was taking up most of her time.

It was probably best that Galaxy didn't go to this little shindig. But you haven't been out or had any free time in a long time, a little voice reminded her, you should go Should she though? She had so much to do. Plus she purposely blocked them. But as the voice said, she hadn't been out in a while.

Jihyun's mind was 80% made up on going when the texts from Palmer came in, telling her that a certain toothpick would be there, and that was all she needed. She saved the song she'd been working on and logged out of the computer. She then called one of their managers who agreed to drive her to karaoke.

Upon arrival, she asked the hostess where the rest of the party was and was pointed towards the closed doors in the back. Nodding her thanks Galaxy first made her way to the bar and ordered a drink, not at all trusting the others to order in a timely fashion. When her drink was in her hand, she made her way to the door and opened it, walking inside in a much less dramatic way than others.

Jihyun looked around to see who was there, ignoring Palmer's smirk and nod towards Sungwoo. Yes, she knew he was here, thank you Palmer. In fact, pretty much all of them were here, something that surprised her since she was sort of expecting less than half to show up.

"Hey," she greeted, walking over to the table, "How are we this fine evening?" As expected, she took a seat next to Sungwoo and set her drink down. "Hello, oppa," she began as she reached towards his arm and squeezed. "Hmm... not as toothipick-y as last time but still pretty toothpick-y. You've made some progress though, don't be too hard on yourself."

And with that, Jihyun took a sip of her drink and began browsing the food menu and song list.

you should come noona

It was obvious, that the environment was tense as Joon, Jun and he were alone, but it seemed the vivid member wasn't bothered by it and was even happy by Sung-Woo's presence, well at least someone didn't want to murder him just by staring at him, he started looking at the song list, not sure if he would sing at all, he would most likely end up being dragged to do it, maybe he could sing a DEAN song and call it a day if that happened, as he was deciding the Youth Fountain members joined, that was almost like a QaG reunion.

It didn't take long until they were joined by his little sister that say hello to him as they haven't seen each other in weeks, which was true, but they were both busy and besides hanging out with Ji-Eun was exhausting, it seemed like the girl just had the energy that would last for days. But she didn't come alone since KyuKyu was with her, was there something going on between them or it was just that they just really good friends, he hoped that it was the second option because knowing how dumb Ji-Eun would be sometimes he could just imagine the worst and he wasn't sure if their mom gave her the talk of the flowers and the bees and that was for sure a conversation he wasn't going to have with her little sister.

As more people started arriving it made he started questioning why these people were his friends, maybe that was the call that he needed to maybe find other people to hang out or maybe just adopt a cat or a dog and always say that he was to busy taking care of his pet, to go out with them. He was wondering if this was a better plan than third-wheeling Hyunwoo's date.

It couldn't get worse than it already was, he just needed to keep his distance from Joon, you know social distancing and they would be fine, besides there was not much he could throw at him, well unless things escalated with the soju and he ended up throwing him an empty bottle of soju, maybe drinking wasn't the best idea, but there were people to stop him, so he didn't have anything to fear, right?

And then there was Ji-Eun which was easier to ignore after growing up next to her, you just got the ability to just mute her words as she rambled until there was no tomorrow. As long as he stayed under the radar the night could go smoothly, he was just too into his thoughts that he got startled when Palmer arrived blasting a Kesha song just to make his entrance even more extra than it already was, again he wondered how he started hanging out with them.

But his surprise at Palmer's entrance was changed into happiness when Jun said he wanted to sing one of his songs. Hold Me was one of his favorite songs that he wrote since he let out his feelings when he struggled during the renovation of the contract of MWD and how the fans were still there for him. For that reason, he was going to forgive Jun for being the one organizing this mess.

But Sung-Woo's happiness was over as soon as he saw the devil walking into the room Jihyun was there, why from all people in their group she had to come, now he had to deal with Joon, Ji-Eun and now Jihyun, did he do something so terrible in his past life that he was suffering the consequences for it by having to deal with those 3 together? The devil took a seat next to him, so she was there to make his evening a living hell as she grabbed his arm and said he had made some progress but still his arms were like a toothpick.

Did Sung-Woo started working out because being compared to a tootpick hurt his ego? The answer was yes, but he wouldnโ€™t say it out loud, sure he wasnโ€™t going to become a gym lover like Noah or Hyunwoo that would just use it as an excuse take off their shirts in their presentations, his fans like him even with his tootpick arms that wasnโ€™t even tootpicks to begin with. He moved away his arm to be free of the devilโ€™s hold.

โ€œMy arms are not tootpicks and is none of your business if I work out or noโ€ he replied to Jihyun, for sure that was going to be a long night โ€œI want two bottles of sojuโ€ he added, he was glad he could handle alcohol because he was sure he was going to need as much of it inside his system to make it through the night.

Palmer nodded when asked if he was dramatic because, well, he was. He doubted he'd ever had a non-dramatic moment in his life, especially not since becoming a member of LGND and knowing this crew.

Ever the affectionate one, he snuggled into Jun's side when the arm was thrown around him and then sat up. "Yep," he started, popping the 'p', "we're singing together. Doing a little throwback to MAMA 2018, the first time we met." And what an interesting time that was. The both of them told they'd be doing a duet together, despite having never met and only meeting the day of the final rehearsal. Thankfully everything turned out okay.

Palmer saw the panicked expression on Jun's face and concern immediately coursed through him. What was going on? He didn't ask though--it wasn't his business and if Jun wanted to tell him, he would. It was easy to tell something was wrong though, or easy for him anyway. "Okay," he said, shaking himself out of his train of thought. "I don't care what we get, but I probably will eat most of it, just a heads up."

It was a fair warning since he could eat a lot. His brows shot up when he heard the comment about backing out, as if to say "really?" but it was all teasing. "Just wanted to be sure you wouldn't back out." is all he said. Then came the song suggestion. "Yeah, we can do that." he said cautiously. Not because he didn't want to sing the song, it was just that he hadn't actually heard it.

Yes, he knows he should have since Sungwoo is his friend, but LGND has been very busy with promotions for their recent comeback and he himself has been busy with his solo album. So there wasn't really much time to listen to other things. "Can we also do Bangtan Sonyeondan-sunbaenim's Friends?" He'd always thought that was a perfect duet song and now was the chance. "And also maybe Kiss Me Thru the Phone by Soulja Boy."

Palmer had no idea who else was singing together or challenging each other, so he didn't answer directly. But then he announced to the room, "I'll challenge whoever thinks they can rap Superbass by Nikki Minaj better than me after Jun-hyung and I finish our songs."
