(Artistic depiction with artistic licenses taken. Pleating were expensive before pleating machine become a thing, therefore soldiers in 1860s probably wouldn't wear pleated skirts...except Scottish with their Kilt. But those are only partially pleated.)

The group attacked Unionist sympathisers and raid Union army units in guerrilla warfare, Gertrude ended up getting lost from the group in the midst of battle and joining various units in a span of several months, before she found herself under the flag of 43rd North Carolina, Army of North Virginia, which she would remain with and partake in conflicts such as the Battle of Malvern Hill, and finally, in Gettysburg. At the last day (3rd July) of the Battle of Gettysburg, the 43rd were met with furious fire when they take part in an assault on Culp's Hill. Advancing under heavy fire, they occupied earthworks abandoned by Union troops, and attempted to push beyond the works. The regiment was exposed to a most severe fire of canister, shrapnel and shell at short range. The Regiment remained exposed and under fire until ordered to recross Rock Creek in the early evening.

Gertrude was wounded in this battle that let to her true gender being discovered. Since her home was destroyed, she was sent back to North Carolina with her wounded comrades in the 43rd, where she would settle in with one of her brother-in-arms, who seems to subconsciously saw through the disguise and became sweet on her in the course of war.

Her local community given her the nickname “Sweet Polly Oliver” as a reference to the English folksong, while it was not exactly the reason why she joined the army, Gertrude liked it, and the name "Olivia" became quite commonly choose for baby girls in the Ehrhardt family because of it.

Born on May 27, 19██ in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Olivia Ehrhardt IV was the second oldest daughter of her four siblings. After graduated from Northern Nash High School, she and her father went to travel around the world together, they saw the the old Stasi prison in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen, what remains of the Berlin Wall, the battlefield of Normandy, to Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia where the damage done by the Balkan Wars in the 90s could still be seen. Her father was a mercenary, the fortune soldier had not only participated in the Balkan Wars, also various conflicts in South America, North Africa and Middle East, the 1978 Toyota Hilux he still drive around was from when he was in the Chad-Libyan War of 1987, also known as the Toyota War, he and his team destroyed 6 Libyan T-55 main battle tank while driving it, making it one of the few Toyota in America with confirmed multiple tank destroyed records.

Olivia would grow up and join the US Army, but at the time woman were still not allow to serve in front line ground combat position yet, even though she did get a tour in Afghanistan, all she got was a position as medical staff at the rear in Heathe N. Craig Joint Theater Hospital at Bagram Air Base. After her four years enlistment contract ended, she became a racer in NASCAR trying to get the adrenaline she yearn for.
