    From the moment Jennifer Kyang got her tiny fingers on a violin, the young girl knew just what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Born the youngest out of 3 children to Wesley and Mazlin Kyang, two intellectual yuppies, Jenny had been made to take up an instrument at a young age, with some parenting journal mentioning it would improve discipline and cognitive functioning skills. Despite the fact that music was supposed to simply be a hobby, Jenny quickly became hooked. Confused, but ultimately supportive, her parents wholeheartedly encouraged their youngest child's passion, increasing her lessons and driving her to all the competitions her teeny heart desired. And by all accounts, their investment paid off. With all the money and resources at her disposal, Jenny thrived in her craft, collecting a respectable amount of awards and accolades from youth music competitions.

    For all intents in purposes, music had effectively taken over Jennifer Kyang's life. Any sensible kid might have taken issue with that, but young Jenny reveled in it. She knew what she liked, and she pursued it wholeheartedly. Even in her spare time, she'd find enjoyment in asking someone else to teach her how to play a different instrument, or creating arrangements for herself. As weird as it was, Jenny was content for the most part.
    
    But then, shit effectively hit the fan by the time she was in middle school. Puberty hit, and a switch clicked in her brain, and she realized just how strange she looked to everyone else. How pretty much everybody else seemed to be doing so much better than her. The other kids had large friend groups, threw parties she wasn't invited to, and were even getting boyfriends. And where was she? A weirdo in a bowlcut who's greatest accomplishment was a stuffy music award that basically nobody else cared about. And worse of all, now that she actually had to start thinking of college, her parents had decided that she had to join Marching Band when she got to high school. For extracurriculars or some idiotic reason like that.
    
    Despite still loving music, she definitely didn't love the idea of being seen in a hideous jingly uniform by the entire student body. Aware that her loser status was about to be officially cemented, Jenny begged and pleaded with her parents to change their mind. It didn't work.   Band is Leah’s entire life. In a world where everything and everyone around her is lowkey boring (at least compared to fiction), she finds band to be the one thing that gets her blood pumping and makes her enjoy life. Of course, going into her senior year is a major cause of stress and panic—what the hell is she going to do with herself when she graduates high school? She’s ignoring that particular fact until a later date; for now, she’s focused on making the best of her last high school marching season and keeping up the stellar reputation of the saxophone line. To her, the saxophones are everything, and she is sometimes like a proud mom whenever she talks about them. She can only hope the other saxophones have a similar passion as her when it comes to friendly intersection competition.
  
  It should be noted, of course, that Leah is not a particularly skilled musician. She can play her alto saxophone and has been for nearly ten years. She can play a melody LOUDLY if the balance calls for it. She’s had a solo or two in concert band. However, she does not have her scales memorized, can’t tell a major scale from a minor one (she gets frustrated if they’re brought up), and despite her improving embouchure, she can’t play a lot of the notes below the staff. Her teachers can tell her she has a great tone for days, but Leah is not meant to be taking up any sort of musician mantel in the near future, and she’s perfectly okay with that. Oddly enough, her real skill lies in marching, which she likes to blame on her “marching genetics” from her parents. She can dress a line like nobody’s business, and her feet practically glide across the field. Even though it exhausts her, she adores marching, and is very proud of her skill in it. She worked hard to be able to claim her spot as A1 on the field, and she’s not going to let that effort go to waste.
  
  Outside of band (is there such a thing during marching season?), Leah does in fact have other interests. They are many, and it often seems impossible that Leah could have such a wide range of hobbies. For one, she loves anime, but she also loves reading, and she somehow manages to balance both of them rather well. She has aspirations to be a writer, hence her tattoo (that her parents let her get over the summer), but she also wouldn’t mind being an English teacher. She likes to say that in short, she’s a nerd, and this is clear from the way she perks up whenever the name of a show or book or anime she likes comes up in a conversation twenty feet away from her. If she was on top of looking at colleges (which she’s not), she’d probably go to a liberal arts college. Critical thinking happens to be her wheelhouse. Well, that and asking the band director what the plan is for a rainy day.

  Leah was born to marching band royalty, as it were. Or at least, that’s how they liked to phrase it. Both Irene Calloway and Thomas Diamond did marching band throughout high school and college, earning section leader positions during both tenures. Her mother was even drum major in high school. Even after graduating college, they were dedicated marching band alumni, and when they got married and had children, they made sure to raise them to love band just as much as they did.
  
  It worked with the first daughter, Lindsay. A musical prodigy, she had perfect pitch like her mother, and she had taken on the violin and the French horn like her mother and father, respectively. When it was her time to participate in marching band, she would play the mellophone, her counter-melodies soaring over the woodwinds in a way that would bring tears to the Diamonds’ eyes. Tears like diamonds, if you will. But first, the matter of their second daughter, Leah.
  
  Leah was born when Lindsay was six years old. From the start, Leah showed an interest in music, which was a good sign. However, she did not have the wherewithal to practice every waking moment like Lindsay. At first, there wasn’t a true sign of a problem, as Leah could read music just find and was strangely adept at recognizing enharmonics (don’t ask). Then they realized she wasn’t exactly improving. In fact, it was pointed out to Leah in middle school that she’d been playing her alto saxophone incorrectly for years. While she had a miraculous tone, her embouchure was all wrong. Leah tried to fix what was wrong, but she got too easily frustrated with the more complicated rhythms and the way her music teachers just tended to yell rather than try to help her learn.
  
  Her parents weren’t exactly helpful. They were busy helping Lindsay pick out a college with a wonderful marching band program and attending to the youngest Diamond sibling, Leonard, four years younger than Leah herself. That was just fine by Leah. She took to reading more often than she already was, sometimes even forgoing homework to do so. Anime quickly drew her attention as well. She still loved music, of course, but it wasn’t everything to her like it was to her parents and siblings. It was something she did for fun, no other reason.
  
  When Leah started high school, her sister was finally out of the house. Her shadow was still sticking around, but not as much. Her parents had enrolled her at the high school marching band camp run by Stanton University. Leah was nervous—she knew next to nothing about marching band save for her parents’ and Lindsay’s stories. That, and who else had a last name like Diamond? On the first day of camp, the band director recognized her similar facial structure and the fact that Leah was fond of counter melodies. But what really drew his attention was Leah’s marching. Even as a rookie, Leah seemed to fundamentally understand how marching worked. Her technique, while not flawless, was superb.
  
  Of course, this news excited her parents like nothing else. Leah didn’t show it, but it made her happy, too. She may not have been a jazz goddess on the saxophone, but she had a talent that her parents noticed! It was about time!
  
  Still, Leah wasn’t sure how to tell her parents that she wanted to go to a liberal arts college and not for music like the rest of her family. Even little Leonard was already saying he wanted to be a concert cellist. Leah felt a little trapped. Oddly enough, her parents’ home, marching band, was her only escape. The only place where it wasn’t just about the music. At least, not entirely. But now that she’s approaching the end of high school, she’ll have to tell them sometime.
  
  First, she has to get through band camp alive. Fourth time’s the charm, right?

  Dorian is nothing if dedicated to his craft. He’s always thinking of new songs to arrange specifically for piano, or wondering what other instruments could accompany him in one of his latest videos. A musical career, for him, is the only option, and he won’t let anything get in his way of making the music he wants to. He long ago promised his mother that he would never give up his music, and he takes that promise very seriously, to the surprise and occasional dismay of his father. Dorian considers his music a gift from his mother, and there’s no way he’s going to squander it and insult the memory of the greatest woman who ever lived. Though his drive is admirable, he is rather easily distracted from everything that’s not musical, and this has gotten him in trouble socially and academically before. He’s working at it… but thus far has been rather unsuccessful.
  
  When Dorian discovered social media, he realized this was the best way to get his music out there. Plus, extra opportunities to practice! So along with his next musical endeavor, he’s always trying to make the next greatest music video. Taking inspiration from some of the greatest content creators on the Internet (and gaining hope from the stories of those who got record deals from their popularity), he tries his best to emulate them while also doing something unique. He’s not sure how unique he can be in a world where his greatest skill is tickling the ivories of one of the world’s oldest instruments, but he’s determined to make it big and make it great. And with his younger sister, Lisa, at the helm of his channels, there’s no way things won’t go his way.
  
  Even though he’s very clearly talented, Dorian is always doubting himself. His own greatest critic, he wants everything to be perfect, even though he knows for a fact that perfection is impossible. He wonders occasionally if he’s been simply posing as a great pianist this entire time, if he’s been wasting his own time as well as his sister’s, but the thought goes away the moment a positive comment comes in. The negative comments are nothing in comparison. If he made one person happy, then he’s doing his job.

  The day Dorian was born was the best day of Georgia Eliades’s life. Ulysses Eliades was less ecstatic, but only because labor had taken about thirty-six hours, and he was running practically on empty by the time Dorian was finally screaming his presence in the world. After Ulysses got some sleep, however, he too was excited by the birth of his son.
  
  A woman in love with the music of the world around her, Georgia was always singing to her son and playing the piano for him. Even as a toddler, Dorian would clamber onto the piano bench and pound the keys with his uncoordinated fingers. Georgia would smile and set him on her lap, playing a song by placing his fingers on the correct keys. Ulysses took plenty of videos of the two of them playing together, and it would be these videos that Dorian would later take inspiration from.
  
  When Dorian was four years old, he was given the best gift ever: a baby sister. Little Lisa was not quite so invested in music as her mother and brother, but she loved to clap along as they performed for her. The Eliades household was full of laughter and occasional offkey piano playing, but it made for wonderful evenings. Dorian’s enthusiastic playing drowned out the sound of coughing coming from his mother.
  
  When Dorian was six years old and Lisa was two, Georgia fell ill. Though the children wouldn’t understand at the time, she had cancer, and was in at least stage three by the time Georgia had realized something was wrong. Ulysses spared no expense to try to save his wife, but the cancer was stronger. Dorian and Lisa held tightly to their father’s hands while they stood by their mother’s bed, wondering why their beautiful mother looked so pale and lifeless.
  
  The night before she passed, Georgia called her son to her bedside. He climbed into bed beside her and tightly gripped her hand in his tiny one. She told him never to give up his love of music, that no matter what she would always be playing beside him as she had been for his whole life so far. Dorian nodded, tears in his eyes, and kissed his mother’s cheeks. The next morning, she was gone.
  
  Lisa was lucky. Because she was so young, she would not be as affected by her mother’s death. But for Dorian, the loss of his mother was a great shadow over his life for a couple years. He relied on Lisa to even approach the piano and play a few notes, though the pain was too great to want to play without his mother physically there. Ulysses gave him space to grieve, as he had his own grief to process. Lisa held the Eliades men together by reminding them to get out of bed and spend time with her. She may have been a toddler, but she was more on top of things than they were. Eventually, realizing this would break Ulysses out of his funk. It took Dorian a little longer.
  
  He was eight before he broke out of his sadness. Dorian approached the piano and played a song his mother used to play for him. It was then he remembered, through the sadness, that he’d promised his mother never to give up his music. As he remembered, he could almost feel her sitting beside him, playing with him. It was then Dorian determined that he would work his hardest to spread his mother’s love of music to as many people as possible. And he set to work.
  
  By the time Dorian was eleven, he was just about as skilled as his mother had been on the piano. He knew the basics of arranging music, but he was still perusing the Internet for new songs to play. It wasn’t until he was in his last year of middle school that Lisa showed him the videos Ulysses used to take of his and his mother’s playing. Dorian realized that videos were the best way, for now at least, to spread his music to the world.
  
  With Lisa’s help (what a precocious ten-year-old she was), Dorian set up his channel, and going by the name Doreli, Dorian began playing for the world. He slowly learned how to arrange piano music himself, playing popular songs on the radio and even some older ones. (For some reason, “Piano Man” was one of his biggest hits.) High school was a time of great success for his channel, and Dorian found himself doing whatever he could to make the next greatest video. He even got a piano into the middle of a field for a video once. Lisa was becoming an amateur videographer, and she helped edit his videos until they looked professional.
  
  Though Dorian occasionally (a lot of the time) forgot about his homework, his skill was undeniable. Even though Ulysses was dismayed by the report cards, he was proud of his son for honoring his late wife’s memory, and he tried to help Dorian however he could. Though it was hard sometimes, what with Dorian’s incredibly high expectations of himself, he couldn’t help but feel proud of himself whenever someone commented with a heart emoji or positive feedback. It was all going to be worth it someday. He was going to make his mother happy, wherever she was.
  
  By the time high school was ending, Dorian realized he really hadn’t planned ahead about whether he would go to college or not. Lisa was the one who handed him the printout about Stanton University and, more importantly, its band camp. Even though Dorian hadn't participated in marching band himself in high school, his skills in music were hard to ignore. He figured he might as well try to apply, making sure to boost his application with some of his best videos (while giving his baby sister all the credit she deserved). To his surprise, they contacted him and asked him for a live audition. Though he struggled with choosing a song to play for a live audience (which he wasn’t used to having), he finally decided on one of the first songs his mother played for him: John Lennon’s “Imagine.” He was not a vocalist by any means, but something must have shown on his face as he played it, because an acceptance came in the mail for Dorian not long afterwards.
  
  Lisa was ecstatic, Ulysses was thrilled, and Dorian was proud. He was slowly making his dream come true, and he was keeping his promise to his mother. At Stanton, Dorian could fully work on his craft, and maybe in the end, he could spread his music to way more people than just his social media followers. He applied for staff for band camp almost right away, and he was put in charge of the pit. It's stressful managing a bunch of teenagers, but thanks to his social media presence and his sister, he's managed to survive so far.

  Cameron really lives up to the so-called “bonehead” reputation. As a trombonist, he’s not terribly skilled, but he’s got the spirit, and that’s good enough, right? (Someone please say yes.) He’s kind of like a really dumb puppy, and he’s perfectly happy with that. This whole experience, for him, is all about the good times and the fun memories. Of course, he’ll try when it’s time for an actual performance, but otherwise he seems to not give much of a damn about everything. He’ll claim he does, but his attitude really belies that fact. He does love music, and he’s enjoyed playing trombone, but he’s known from the first moment that he was never going to be the next marching or trombone prodigy. This was a hobby, and he’ll treat it as such.
  
  There is a reason Cam is very proud of his status as a class clown. He’s a natural comedian, always cracking jokes and whipping out just about every band-related pun you could think of (and maybe some you’ve never heard). Pranks aren’t his thing, though he will try to convince some unsuspecting freshman that he’s actually an undercover CIA agent. The fact that that one worked says a lot about his persuasive abilities more than anything. In such a stressful environment, he wants everyone around him to have fun and remember that nonstop stressing isn’t going to help anyone. Even Cam is not free from his own anxieties, but he tries his best not necessarily to ignore them, but at least give them less power over his actions.
  
  Cam comes across as irresponsible, and frankly, he is. He has been known to show up late, not turn in homework, the works. It’s not because he doesn’t care, or at least he says it’s not. No, he sincerely loses track of time when he’s having fun. Video games have kept him up late at night. Making a badass science project has distracted his attentions. Even hanging out with his band friends will make him forget he has a sectional to attend. This class clown act of his is mostly for show, but also quite true. Band is a fun activity for him, and he wishes everyone understood that he’s here to stay. Even if his showing up late on the first day seems to say the opposite.

  Bio:
  Cameron was born an only child which many of his friends say is the reason for his being the bane of all society. His parents, Sylvia and Emmanuel Ashfield, loved him very much, and they gave him all of their attention during his formative years. He was surrounded by love, which was probably why he ended up being so much of a loyal puppy when it came to his own loved ones.
  
  School, while a hated place for most kids, was the playground for Cam’s social skills. Maybe it was the cartoons he watched, or maybe it was some innate talent, but Cam was always cracking jokes. Even his teachers laughed at his comedic timing and the way his puns always seemed to reflect the situation at hand. He had an inborn sense of comedy, not that anyone could claim that was a real thing.
  
  It didn’t take long for Cam to be known as the class clown. He was proud of the title, buying into it so much he soon found himself coming up with new jokes nearly every day to satisfy the masses. It made him a little anxious, trying to keep everyone entertained all the time, but the power of making everyone around him laugh was too hard to resist. Besides, he had to make his teachers at least a little bit amused whenever he forgot his homework and had to stay after school.
  
  Joining band wasn’t part of the original plan, but Cam’s friends were in band. He figured he’d join, and on a whim, he chose the trombone. (The instrument chooses the musician, right?) Though he could read music well enough—ignore all the flat notes—he wasn’t the best player. And he was just fine with that. For him, band was more about the social aspect, getting to know fellow geeks and weirdoes in a place where the judgement was… well, not nonexistent, exactly, but much easier to ignore.
  
  Come high school, his parents asked him if he wanted to do marching band and therefore band camp at Stanton. Cam refused at first, but when he found out his friends were going, he changed his mind. It was grueling. There were few water breaks. Cam LOVED it! Call it the cult-ish part of marching band, but it sucked him in. Inside jokes, goofing off, doing fun things with his trombone—it was a dream! Sure, he got yelled at for showing up late sometimes or for goofing off, but he was just as much the band’s clown as a class clown! He even heard people start to call him “bonehead,” which—like tromBONE? How funny was that?!
  
  Despite his shenanigans, he’s somehow made it to his third year of marching band. He couldn’t be more excited to come up with new jokes to share with the band. He’s even come up with a new style of dress to make everyone cringe with laughter…

    River was born into a low-middle-class family who were really just able to get by. From a young age, she learned how to find and get good deals and will never settle for anything less and grew up to be an avid thrifter. While her brother was wickedly smart, she was insanely creative. So where her brother shone in academics like math and science, she always did better in her art classes and English surprisingly. From a young age though, she always loved music. Dancing, singing, and playing music was a big part of her life and was (once) a way her family bonded. Her mother and father met through ballroom dancing when they were young but neither went professional yet stayed together. So they did humor River in her musical interests, allowing her to pick up the trumpet from a young age and managed to use their names to get some dance lessons for her. While dancing was something she was better at, River ended up sticking with the trumpet, as it was much easier to learn how to play it on her own than it was to dance.
    Throughout school, she always felt out of place in most areas. It wasn't until her freshman year that they realized that, maybe she was queer. Unfortunately, River was never quiet about who she was, for better or for worse, and instantly became a target for bullies. River constantly got into fights and for a while was covered in bruises much to her parent's disappointment. They even tried moving schools but only to have the same outcome. River didn't want to pretend to be someone she wasn't and took it like a champ. One of the biggest moments in her life was officially coming out late freshman year. Coming out to the students wasn't as bad as many knew it, and by this point, she was fully a band kid and most of them were queer anyways. What really affected River was her parents and brother being dismissive of it, thinking it was simply a phase and she would grow out of it. Yet being more stubborn than a mule, she pushed back which has led to a major strain on her and her family's relationship.
    One of the better times in their life was attending camps. Their parents, always sent River and her brother to sleepaway camps, maybe to have a break from them, and River really took the most of it. They spread their wings and simply tried to get to know people as much as they good. Yet the camp they came to love the most out of all the ones she had been too was band camp. They really loved it there and honestly, River couldn't tell you why. They were like one of those kids where if you saw them interacting with everyone else, they were for sure going to become a camp counselor there when they were old enough. History:

Early life: Jack, or “JT” as he is known by many, was born the only son to father and drummer Ken Michaelson and mother and singer Jessica. From a young age, music had always been a part of Jack’s life. In fact, the first time Jack ever touched a set of drumsticks was when he was two- sitting in his father’s lap as he guided JT’s little hands around the drum set. Needless to say it was love at first sight for the drums with JT. At the age of 5 he began taking drumming lessons. His mother and father always encouraged his drumming, giving him a supportive household to grow in- even if the constant banging did give them a headache or two.

Most of JT’s childhood was great for the most part, that was until when he hit the age of 10 and his mother tragically died.


Later life: When JT was only 10, his mother Jessica had passed away after a long battle with cancer. The death of his mother tore him apart and there was a noticeable shift in his behavior. He became more unruly and rebellious, his father barely able to control him. He’d stop doing his homework and over commit himself to drumming. Because of this abrasive personality change, JT and his father would often have verbal fights.

Eventually when JT turned 14 and was set to be an incoming high school freshman, his father signed him up for marching band camp- much to his dismay. His father wouldn’t budge- there was nothing he could do to convince his dad to get him out of band camp. Knowing he couldn’t get out of it, JT made a vow to himself to absolutely own his instrument.

Before band camp, JT had bought himself a special tenor drum practice pad knowing his dad had signed him up for the tenor drums on the drum line. JT went from the set to the marching quads, practicing his heart out everyday so by band camp he’d be a capable player. As much as JT doesn’t want to be going to band camp, he certainly isn’t going to quit or slack off- no, he would go all in, for his love of music and percussion. It was what his mother would’ve wanted.


Personality: JT might be a little bit too confident for his own good. Luckily he has the music talent to back up all that confidence, but sometimes it comes off as irritating and cocky. JT also has rebellious tendencies, often preferring to go off and do his own thing and quite literally march to the beat of his own drum. Will the headstrong freshman be seen adding an improv solo where none was called for? Absolutely.

Bio: Remy was born as an result of a one night stand between French musical artist Pierre Renault known as internationally as "Rein" and a fan who managed to gain VIP backstage past. Remy's mother was initially welcoming to the idea of an unplanned child though that quickly changed when she found out Rein had no interest in doing the honorable thing and left her high and dry. She took out her frustration on Remi when they were born becoming neglectful. In the first few years it was not so bad as Remi was raised by their mother's grandparents who instilled them with their love of music. She sing for them whenever she could.

However there came a point when they were 12 when their grandparents could not take care of them anymore and they returned to the care of their mother. They went from a relatively good upbringing to that neglect and abuse their mother inflicted on her. She meekly took the abuse for a couple of years being made to hide what was done to they behind a smile and only outlet being humour and music. Eventually they had enough and they snuck out in the middle of the night trying to find something better with no plan but stubbornness.

They found herself living on the street, slowly learning to survive on their own in a big city, stealing, begging and busking to get by, living in abandoned buildings and drifting from one homeless group and another. It was than when they began to crossdress for security at first and later becoming their identity. Most of the time their only companion was a stray cat they named Madam.

One day when she was performing on the street, she was approuched by a couple who took an interest in the young runaway. Though Remy was initially hesitated, they slowly earned Remy trust and took her in and helped Remi as their own. They helped them catch up to her and encourage d her to join a band camp they knew.

    Born to a large family, middle child syndrome. There were five kids, two parents. They grew up climbing trees and making music with whatever they could find. A wild child, full of laughter and energy. Academically, they had never done well. It was disheartening, but band was like a second home. Immediately fitting in with their group of percussionists, it was like heaven. Once marching band came around in freshman year, they hesitated not a moment to join. It has been a source of joy and belonging since the very beginning.
    They had never been the closest with their parents, especially since they were sort of stuck in the middle and one of the lesser worries since the older ones were going into highschool and the younger couldn't be left alone.   He never knew his father, it was always him and his mother. They were close and she encouraged him in everything that he did. It was no surprise she was accepting when he came out.
  School came pretty easily, he was a gifted child. He still only needs to study sparingly, math is his only downfall. Band was always something he loved, and was a good way to make friends and have a community. There was no doubt in his mind that he would join marching band.
  Highschool came with its struggles as usual, but he managed to get through them. Drama, bullies, PE, you name it. While he is a pretty outgoing person, friends never came too easily.   Growing up in poverty, Seb quickly discovered that having money was a whole lot more fun than not having it. So armed with his sharp wit and resourceful nature, he became a master schemer, always cooking up plans to make a quick buck. He'd sell anything he could get his hands on, from homemade lemonade crafted with questionable ingredients to cheat sheets for desperate classmates. Unscrupulous? Perhaps. But when you're surviving on the edge, you do what you gotta do.
  
  Seb and his ever-changing address moved around the great state of Texas like a tumbleweed in the wind until fate brought him to the small town of Eastway as a freshman. It was at his new school that Seb's entrepreneurial spirit reached new heights. Armed with a silver tongue and a knack for the written word, he started a booming business, ghostwriting essays and crafting homework assignments for his less gifted peers. Money poured in faster than you could say "plagiarism," and his life seemed to be on a winning streak.
  
  But alas, every con man's luck eventually runs out, and Seb's cunning capers were no exception. Eventually, his carefully constructed empire would come crashing down like a house of cards in a Texas twister. The jig was up, and Seb found himself out on his ass, expelled from Eastway High.
  
  Faced with the grim reality of her son's actions, Elaine pleaded with the principal of nearby, highly affluent Highgate High to enroll Seb.   Born and raised in Anaheim, California to a nice upper middle class couple. Felix had a comfortable, idyllic childhood, a beloved only child, though he would often wish for a sibling. At the age of 7, that wish finally came true with the arrival of his baby brother, Fred.   After high school, Felix took off for Austin, Texas to attend college and earn his music composition degree. He fell in love with the vibe and music scene there, and decided to hang around for a while after graduating. He even formed a band with some friends in Austin, playing casual gigs at local bars around the area.
  
  At 23, his life would take a sharp turn one night when the band was performing at a local Austin tavern. Chilling at the bar after the show, he met a girl named Candice, and the two instantly hit it off. They began dating, and pretty soon, learned they'd be having a baby; a wholly unexpected turn of events, but Felix was beyond ecstatic to be a father. They named their baby daughter Lyra, and the couple moved their little one to Candy's hometown of Greenbarrow, widely regarded as a nice place to raise children.
  
  Felix couldn't have been happier with his sweet little family, and knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Candice. Felix would propose to her a handful of times over the years, but she'd always have some excuse not to accept, or insist it was simply bad timing for a wedding.
