Description: Jun Aphelion, 6'2 and German-American. A lightning scar runs from his right eye and down his arm, stopping just above his elbow. From stress and trauma, his hair has been left an almost silvery-white. He prefers to keep it short but doesn't bother with brushing very often. His right eye is cloudy, and entirely blind while his left is slowly developing a cataract.

First Name & Last Name: Jun Aphelion

Age: 23

History: Born to a low-income family, Jun didn't have much after his mom passed away when he was 7. Barely able to get by with what his dad brought home, Jun made sure to eat as much as he could when offered food so his father didn't have to buy anything extra. Unfortunately, this lead to Jun sneaking food from school and friends as often as he could. It would never be enough for either of them to survive on as Jun got older, so when Jun was old enough, he picked up a job at his local grocery store.

The manager was lenient, knowing Jun's situation, letting the boy work at 13. The next two years were better, though Jun could see how both he and his father were overworking. Jun dropped out of high school at 16 to pick up a second job at a cafe. Except, fortune didn't seem to favor Jun.

The next year, just a month after his birthday, Jun was struck by lightning while making a delivery in stormy weather. He was blinded instantly in his right eye, lucky to have suffered only second-degree burns on the entry and exit points. Over time, it was discovered Jun had periods of intense ringing in his ears, leaving him temporarily unable to hear for a few hours. Jun had learned how to get around the problem as best he could, but he couldn't get around the medical bills.

Jun took to learning to 'echolocate' as best he could as well as learning American Sign Language. He knew it would only be a matter of time before it was a useless chunk of information, but there was no certain date to when that time would be. Echolocation, Jun learned, was hard. Damage to his hearing didn't help any, but he needed to be able to 'see' without his eyes, he didn't have money for cataract surgery. To make sure he wouldn't peek, Jun would wrap an old towel around his eyes, eventually upgrading to a leftover roll of bandages. He because adjusted to the darkness and sensitive to the light, an unfortunate trade, but he didn't mind.

When the apocalypse hit, he was ready to be taken. His father had died less than 2 years before from heart failure, he couldn't hold a normal job, and he was in a mountain of debt. Though, through some sick sense of humor, he wanted to see how far he could go.

Personality: Once a bubbly, excitable boy, Jun changed after the strike. He became reserved, rough, pushing everyone away. He refused to make friends, scared they would tease and mock him like his old 'friends' had after he was able to return to work. Jun became bitter, a shell of who he once was. Crack the shell, and you get a scared child looking for someone he can hold onto, someone he can trust. He's scared of getting close to people and either losing them or being thrown out.

Short and dense. Muscular but in a toned rather than bulky manner. She has medium-brown skin and a small spattering of freckles across her nose. Her black, tightly curled hair she usually wears free, occasionally braiding it back away from her face in hotter weather. She tends to wear close-fitting, simple clothing, prioritizing ease of movement and minimizing anything that might get caught up when needing to move quickly.
    personality.

Snappy, judgmental, and defensive. A natural skeptic and a good liar. The apocalypse has amplified her possessiveness, both of her things and of people she perceives as hers. Even with her brusque exterior, Daisy cares deeply and will fight tooth and nail to keep her friends safe.

An odd mixture of over-nervous and over-trusting. Really doesn’t have any confidence in himself so would like to trust the people around him to make decisions on his behalf. The low self-confidence means he’s always second-guessing himself and is very indecisive. Conflict avoidant, empathetic, jumpy.

First Name & Last Name: Chera Verese
Age: 16
Personality:
Chera is… complicated. Never had she been much of a socialite, but she wasn’t nearly as closed off before, either. Cold, distant, yet strangely protective towards others, Chera’s internal ideology is one of help and be helped; trying to convince herself to subscribe to a kind of trader principle to avoid coming too close to anyone she might then lose. Having always had a good memory and head for organization, surviving for months on her own has further developed those skills. She often plans a week in advance, establishing a structured schedule; scavenging days, rest days, scouting days, etcetera. She holds her memory of her grandfather, the rifle he left her, and the lessons he taught her close to her heart. Beneath the exterior she’s forced herself to craft, she has a deep sense of justice and kindness towards her fellow man, willing to help others that have earned trust even if her gain in return isn’t entirely proportionate. She possesses a kind of quiet determination, and unspoken will to survive the coming days, months, and years, stronger than many possess at even twice her age and physical strength.

Chera wasn’t an outstanding student in school, but she always seemed to know exactly when and what was happening, with an exhaustive ability to memorize her schedule, lectures, and everything else she needed to get good grades. Although school is hardly even an afterthought now, her head for memorization and organization has gotten her far.

History:
Chera credits her survival to one man: her grandfather. Left in his care for a week when the outbreak started when her father was deployed overseas and her mother had a work emergency, Chera’s early survival was thanks to her rather isolated existence within her grandfather's homestead outside Atlanta, where he often taught her how to shoot when she was young, even before the outbreak when she often visited, along with the skills needed to make camp, hunt, and generally live off the land. Although still very much an amateur in such fields, Chera at least has her foot in the door. She seemed to catch on to the skill of shooting quickly, however, reliably landing the kind of accurate shots needed to pick off walkers.

However, Chera’s grandfather didn’t survive forever, and eventually a robbery gone wrong by a group of younger survivors claimed his life, leaving her to live out of his cabin until she realized that the raiders would soon return after sighting them on a scouting trip, forcing her to flee, finally daring to return to Atlanta, hoping to find some sign of her parents. Although she met up with a group of other survivors within Atlanta, they were soon overwhelmed by the hordes, leaving her alone to hold out in the city.

First Name & Last Name: Roland King
Age: 40

Personality:
Roland is a well-spoken, educated man with a love for the quiet, thoughtful side of life, reflected in his career as a professor in social sciences such as philosophy and literature. A book never farther from his hand than absolutely necessary, Roland takes any situation as one to learn from, approaching topics with an open mind and his fellow man with an open hand. He’ll take steps to protect himself from bandits, obviously, but killing humans, especially now that they are so limited in number, is a step he’ll only take under extreme duress. An avid reader of classics and biographies of great people long past, Roland draws from a well of scholarly research to find a way forward for civilization, and believes that educated men like him can be the catalyst for restoring it, if they can simply survive.

He challenges unnecessary violence and is willing to freely teach what he can to the people around him, as well as render other assistance. His greatest wish is to remain the man he was before this apocalypse. A good man, who looked out for friends, family, students, and neighbors alike, learning new things all the way.

History:
Ex-Professor from Reed Creek, Georgia, Roland King is a well-spoken man entering his fourth decade, beginning to plan for a still rather distant retirement before the apocalypse hit. His parents having already passed away in the years prior, and with no children of his own, Roland, whose only focus was once his work, was thrown for a loop by the complete collapse of society and the death or flight of all of his students. He was teaching in Atlanta, where he had to commute to work, when everything finally collapsed. His boat grounded and starved of fuel to transport it to where it could have been used, he had until recently been trying to secure the means to exit Georgia and embark on a northwards trip up the Mississippi to look for any signs of extant civilization. However, when scavengers broke his car and boat down for parts, he’s simply forced to scavenge to survive.

Using a belaying pin from his boat as a rather savage blunt weapon, and a snubbed 38. revolver,, he’s survived through what he would admit to be some luck, and the fact the neighborhood he’s been residing in has plentiful basements and was barricaded before most of its occupants were killed, zombified, or forced to flee.
