•Historical (set in the ancient Roman Empire)

Y/C was a slave in an ancient Roman city, having been born the daughter of slave parents and sold from household to household throughout her life. She had a younger brother whom she adored and looked over, sacrificing much so that he was always cared for. Despite the odds she kept the two of them together, watching over him and ensuring that he had whatever he needed. She grew into a beautiful young woman and he became a strong, handsome young man. Their master decided, however, that he would sell the brother. This threw Y/C into a panic, and she begged their master not to separate them. The master struck her, and this enraged the brother who attacked the master, taking his own whip and beating him severely. For this crime, Y/C’s brother was sold to the arena to be taken and cast in to be mauled by some wild animal or killed by a gladiator for the amusement of a cheering crowd. Y/C could not let that happen, and fled her master’s house and went into the streets. She was desperate to find help, to save her brother’s life. He was all she had. Suddenly she saw M/C, a distinguished Roman military officer sitting on his horse with a troop of men behind him and his second in command on horseback beside him. He appeared to be a man of power and authority, so in act of desperation she rushed to him and clasped his leg as he sat on the horse, begging him to come and save her brothers life.
