Act I: Single and Ready to Mingle
The sun has set over the ocean as the large cruise ship, fittingly named The Heart of the Ocean, moved through the water with elegance and grace. The waves had calmed to an even push a pull, causing the boat to seem as though it was gliding on top of the water. Mere hours before, approximately 300 singles boarded this cruise ship, either from friendly encouragement or by choice, in the hopes of finding love. After settling into their luxurious individual queen suites, they decided to get ready for the ship's introductory Single Mingle party at the ship's high end nightclub bar. The music had begun and the party is in full effect, the moving bass tones and sounds of flirtatious laughter in the air perfectly setting the mood. All drinks are free. All food is free. The room is full of people looking for love. What have they got to lose?

jessica-jpg.jpg
Despite her numerous objections, Jessica was going on a Cruise. Sometime earlier, her friends and family (including her Older Brother) had all pitched in for her ticket to go on a Singles Cruise. Why? They were all simply sick and tired of her negative attitude towards love and relationships. Jessica couldn't really back out either, the ticket was already purchased by the time they decided to tell her, there was no chance of getting a refund and it wasn't eligible for resale because it had her name tethered to it, something that left the young bartender extremely upset. Reluctantly, she accepted that she was going, but due to the fact that it was forced on her, she gave everyone the cold shoulder. She complained almost everyday leading up to the cruise and everyone just got nothing but sass and attitude. Despite attempts to apologize, Jessica simply told everyone to fuck off and not say a word to her until she gets back from the cruise, only saying that they shouldn't be surprised if she comes back...still single.

Jessica's Boards.jpg
On the morning of the cruise, Jessica had everything packed, including all her Boards. Surely there were some sweet stops during this cruise for her to be able to participate in her favorite activities. Hell, she even packed her videogames. With the amount of money everyone paid for this cruise, the damn place better have some Wifi and a big-ass HDTV in the Suite for her to game on. It was gonna be three months long! May as well make herself comfortable... So she packed her PS4, Xbox One and her Nintendo Switch, even her Gaming Laptop. She wasn't gonna be partying the entire time. It was just her home away from home as far as she was concerned. Coincidentally, she overheard that her boss was gonna be going on a cruise over the summer as well. Hopefully the bar would hold over until she got home. Aside from her gaming equipment, she also packed her tablet and some sports gear, but left the motocross gear out since that was just too much to pack, but she definitely did pack for mountain climbing and skydiving. Her only hope was that her suite was big enough to house everything. Her Brother, Nick was gonna be taking her to the Cruise Ship, the Heart of the Ocean. "Yo...why are you bringing so much shit?"

"You guys are forcing me to go on this cruise. I didn't even want to fucking go, y'all didn't exactly give me a say and fucking dropped it on me like a bomb. So don't be surprised that I'm being a bitch about it." She said coldly.

"Thank goodness I brought the big car...Because I kinda knew you were gonna pull this shit." Nick sighed as he started getting her bags and suitcases into the back, placing her boards on top so that they wouldn't risk breaking.

The drive to the Cruise Ship ended up being long and awkwardly quiet. Mainly because Jessica felt betrayed as Nick had a role in forcing her on the Singles Cruise. "Look, I know you're pissed but-"

"Just shut the fuck up and drive..." Jessica responded coldly.

Nick understood why his sister was mad at him, but thought that she was being extreme. He wanted to voice it, but Jessica shot down that chance. The remainder of the drive ended up being awkwardly quiet. Jessica was angry and hurt. She thought that her Brother would have her back, but he didn't this time. Maybe it was because he had a girlfriend too...If he did, he hasn't really said anything and she hasn't met the girl yet, but there was gonna be a buttload of attitude if she did! After a reasonably lengthy drive, they finally made it to the Cruise Ship. Looking at her watch, it would seem that Jessica made it a few hours earlier. After getting all of her stuff out of the back, Nick gave Jessica a hug. While she didn't push him away, she wasn't exactly all that receptive either, but returned the hug after a few seconds, but growled, prompting her Brother to back away. He then got back into his SUV before rolling the window down. "Love you, Jessica!"

"Fuck you too, asshole..." She flipped him off.

He sighed rolling the window up. "She'll get over it..."

Finally, a crew-member approached her, with a luggage cart as he saw everything she had packed. "Ready for boarding ma'am?" He asked.

"Yes...I am..." She sighed, restraining herself from lashing out on the poor crew-man, as he didn't do anything wrong.

"You alright ma'am?" He asked while loading her luggage and small boards, leaving her to carry her longboard.

"Yeah, my family and friends are forcing me to go on this cruise and I'm not all that happy about it..." She admitted.

The crew-member only frowned before another one of his co-workers helped haul all the cargo, as well as carry the Surfboard, that Jessica brought up into the Cruise Ship. Once they made it to the top of the ramp, Jessica showed the Printed Ticket, her ID and Passport. She was then lead to her Suite. "If you need anything, let us know." The Crew-men then left her to her devices.

A Couple Hours later...

The Heart of the Ocean was soon at Sea. Having boarded early, Jessica took the opportunity to make herself at home. She left the two big boards in the corner of the room and her emptied luggage and bags were in a closet along with the jackets she brought. All her clothing were categorized into the dresser while her toiletries were organized in the bathroom. Since the TV didn't exactly allow her to assemble her gaming gear, she simply smirked. "Good thing I brought the monitor. Hehe...Sorry, not cutting me off from gaming that easily!" She said with a devious tone before finding a good spot to plug everything in.

All of her controllers, her tablet and her laptop were both dead, so now was a good time to let them charge. She did have something else to do in the meantime. There was the introductory event in the Ship's Nightclub. Dreading the thought, she looked over her clothing. Jessica came to the conclusion that she was gonna dress as lame as possible. This was going to be a long summer and she dreaded every day that was coming. Was she even going to find that special someone? She heavily doubted it. Finally, she grabbed a White T-Shirt, Black Cargo Pants and White Jordans. She then grabbed her watch and proceeded to brush her hair, at least having some decency. Slowly, she clicked the watch on before putting her pendant and gold bracelet on.

After she finished getting dressed, Jessica grabbed her phone and her passport, since her wallet was not a necessity. Checking to make sure she had her room key, she sighed. "I really don't wanna fucking be here..." She moaned before dragging her feet down the hall.

o.jpg
Soon, she made her way into the Night Club. It was full of life. The music was popping. Must be the Single Mingle Party that was mentioned in the Brochure that she received on the way to her room. It was certainly hard to believe that there were about three-hundred other single people here...Sighing, she made her way towards the bar. "A Corona please."

To her surprise, her drink was ready for her, right off the get-go. "Thank you." Jessica smiled before leaning against the counter as the bartender tended to other customers. Wish Jacob had this on tap. Then again, he probably doesn't because I'd drink it all...lol... She thought.

Quietly, she proceeded to enjoy her drink, looking around at all the party goers, all talking to each other.

Sakari Lethonen let out a deep sigh as he looked at himself in the mirror. He pulled the dark red waist coat into place. He had decided to forgo wearing a jacket over his waistcoat outfit. First of all it would be way too warm in a club with more than 50 people, let alone when there was gonna be 300 or so people. Second of all, he wouldn't want people to spill drinks on it. Not that he wanted to sacrifice these clothes, but they were closer to his body and thus hopefully no one would come too near. Thirdly, it made him a tad bit more approachable probably then going in a full victorian look. Or gothic as most people called it these days. He rolled his eyes at his mirror image. He was already annoyed with the whole ordeal. People were gonna be loud and close and in his face, after all this was ment as a mingling party. Others would distract him, try to get his attention and what all not, while he was here for a job.

That is right. That was mostly his sole purpose of being here. As well as getting back into society after his three year imprisonment. He took a deep breath. He had never liked mingling, but alas. It was tiringly, exhausting and he saw no purpose in it, but it was necessary. Very necessary to get to know the circumstances here, the people around him and most of all see what kind of person his target was. Yes, he got out of jail and already was back on a job. All he had was a name, a picture and some bit of reasoning. He had not really asked for more. This was more to get the information, since even for him getting clean out of a kill on a cruiseship would be rather ambitious. Though if he got the chance, he would. First of all, he'd have to get familiar with the target, their habits, their social circle and routine and what all not. All while trying to avoid that agent that was most likely shadowing him. He doubted they would just let him go from a high secured facilty without watching his every move. Though his lawyers had been able to get him out, everyone in that room damn well knew he was not an innocent man. They had just needed a bit more solid prove and that... that he never left behind.

Another deep breath fell from his lips as if he seemed to grasp some courage to face all those partying, excited and most likely drunk people. He hated drunk people. They were annoying. Then again what breathing person was not annoying to Sakari's standards? Anti-social people. Those did it well in his books. Or pepole with a crippling social anxiety that could not go out off their rooms. A rather friendly smile played around his thin lips as he stepped out of his queen suite and followed the sound of music and laughter. Even though he hated social conventions and all that stuff, he knew how to act and how to be a very charming and friendly person. It was all an act though. Most of what he did was an act, every emotion he displayed was fake. The curse and bliss of a psychopath...

Sakari stepped into the high end club, moving a bit to the side as he observed the place. People were dancing, drinking, talking. Some were already getting very familiar for a simple mingling party. He would never understand such people. Did they have no self respect? Or dignity? His gaze quickly moved onto other people as he moved in a big circle around the dancefloor and through the club. He sat down at the bar and waited for a bartender to come over. "Double wodka, please," he ordered with a gentle tone in his voice. He would need that to be able to tolerate this all. He'd need that and a whole lot more to go mingling himself. "Thank you," he said with a soft nod when the glass with the colorless liquid was sat down. He picked it up between his long fingers and swirled the glass. He watched his wodka for a moment, before his gaze moved up again to observe the people around. He turned a bit sonhenwas with his back to the bar, elbows resting on it. A friendly open pose. If anyone wanted to mingle with him, so be it. He was not gonna make the first move though.

Avery made sure to get a WiFi package for the cruise, he’d be away for some time and he’d be damned if he couldn’t FaceTime the love of his life. The blonde had been trying to say goodbye for the past ten minutes, but Dawn didn’t want to part ways, it almost made him feel guilty, like he was doing something without her or going behind her back. Stepping away briefly he snatched a T-shirt off of a wire hanger. “How do I look?” he asked stepping back so that the four year old could get a good view of his out. “Pwain.” Dawn answered. “But handsome.” she quickly added, almost as if to save his feelings.

Plain was certainly a way to put it, Avery was sporting a basic white T-shirt and dark almost fitted jeans. Avery wasn’t sure it was possible to be late to a nightclub, but Dawn was going to make it possible. Once his shoes were on, Avery knew that he was going to have to put an end to their conversation. “Alright my love I gotta get goin’.” the hazel eyed man said as his pointer finger inched towards the button to end the call. “Where are you goin’?” Dawn asked curiously, head tilting to the side, pigtails bouncing in reaction. Avery paused for a second, trying to formulate a kid friendly definition of a nightclub. “A ball?” he answered doubtfully.

“Okay have lots of fun!” Short stubby hands waved goodbye before ending the call. Avery sighed heavily. Why was lying such a chore? He casually convinced himself that the two were oddly similar; there was dancing, music, drinks. Except at balls there was probably no bump and grind. The blonde laughed to himself as he exited out of his room and headed down the hall, he was going to need a drink after that call. Luckily he was headed to the perfect place to quench his thirst. Upon entering the scene he made his way to the bar. Leaning against the bar top he ordered a gin on the rocks and waited for the bartender to return.

"If you could please follow me, Miss Jeon, I'll take you to your suite now."

Elise followed the smartly-dressed staff member with her luggage, having politely declined their help earlier, reassuring them that she could handle all her bags. As she walked, fully aware that every one on this ship would be looking closely at each other, she felt even more self-conscious than usual. She tried to keep a pleasant look on her face; nothing too hyper, just a soft smile that would make her look approachable. She wouldn't want to accidentally come off as too cold. Was she walking strange? She was sure she was walking normally, but she felt like a complete fish out of water.

She took a deep breath. She was going to go nuts like this. Usually, she had no trouble socializing, but this was—this was...Everyone was looking for their match, whether a casual one or 'the one'. Of course she'd flirted around a bit before—and some of her attempts had succeeded, but...it never went anywhere in the end—but this was so different, with everyone's purpose being to find someone, for their own reasons. Oh, thinking about it more would seriously make her go nuts.

They finally reached her suite. Although she was not completely unused to luxury, having stayed in various extravagant hotels before, there was still that feeling of amazement and excitement of walking into such a stylish, luxurious suite, a sort of feeling of being on vacation. She supposed in a sense, she was on vacation, although it wouldn't be as relaxing as a normal vacation.

"Well! Here it is. Just let us know if you have any problems whatsoever, Miss Jeon, and we'll deal with it promptly. We're happy to assist you in any way that we can."

She turned to the staff member, who was now standing in the doorway, and bowed slightly, a habit of hers that she never saw any reason to get rid of. "Thank you very much," she said sincerely, smiling at him. He bowed back, and left her to indulge in the room alone.

Shooting a silent thanks to the couple who had insisted on sponsoring her ticket—she would, however, pay any extra expenses, assuming they ever came up (the website said all costs were completely covered by the ticket cost, but that remained to be seen)—she left her luggage in a corner and moved to the large windows. They were already her favourite part of the room; she loved the gorgeous view of the expanse of ocean and sky stretching out for miles. It may sound cliché, but beautiful scenery was beautiful scenery.

The bathroom was equally as lavish as the bedroom, if not more. She suspected she'd been spending a lot of time in the jacuzzi on this cruise.

Returning to her bedroom, she sat on her bed cross-legged, facing the windows. She sat there for what felt like a long time, just getting lost in the view, and her thoughts. It was something she liked to do, although she usually didn't get much chance to, with her busy schedule. Just letting her mind drift, not thinking about much at all, staring and yet not really seeing or focusing on anything.

As content as she would've been to stay like that a bit more, or maybe sketch a little, the Single Mingle party that had been listed in the cruise programme, as well as having been mentioned by the staff member earlier, was probably almost underway. Slowly peeling herself off the bed, she went to get ready. She'd picked out her clothes a few days before, another habit of hers. She wore a black dress, hoping it looked the right combination of elegant and informal, and a pair of black kitten heels to match. Tying her hair in a low ponytail and applying some light makeup, she was ready to leave.

...That didn't meant she left, however. She spent a good five to ten more minutes looking at the mirror, wondering if she should change anything, if she was dressing too over-the-top, or perhaps even too casually? In the end, she finally left the room as-is, and made her way to the ship's on-board nightclub.

One question that frequently popped up in quizzes is: What kind of person are you at a party? If Elise had to answer, she'd usually stick with her friends, but be open to talking to anyone who looked friendly enough, or maybe anyone was looking left out. And, well, assuming no one she knew was there, she would head straight for the refreshments, just for something to do. In this case, it was the bar. The bar was a good place to sit and collect her thoughts, and open up possible interactions at the same time.

The bartender gave her a friendly grin as she approached, and she gave a quick smile back. "Bonsoir, monsieur. Je prends un verre de rosé, s’il—ah, wait, no, um,"

She flushed. Was she really that nervous? "Um...sorry. Uh, can I have a glass of rosé, please?"

The bartender nodded and smiled kindly, as if he had seen this happening many times, which was possible, since guests onboard came from all over. Still, that was horrifyingly embarrassing. She quickly glanced around to see if anyone had noticed. Oh, she hoped no one did!

He gently pushed her glass of rosé towards her, which she took with a quick nod and "Thank you, and um, sorry again,". Okay, what now? Move over to the food or stay here? Spotting a man with long blond hair, wearing a dark red waistcoat, sitting alone at the bar, just a little away from where she stood, she made the rapid decision to try talking to him, and without giving herself more time to think about it, she made her way to him. It was going to be her first conversation with another guest on this cruise. He looked friendly enough.

The first thing she noticed was his eyes, a piercing blue. He also had a very gentle look, although she wondered if that was how he really was. In this type of gathering, many people would naturally put on a facade, whether intentionally or unintentionally, to appeal to others. She supposed she would find out.

"Hello," she greeted, a pleasant smile on her face. "Are...are you alone here, or waiting for someone?" Too late, she realized she should've probably waited a little longer before approaching someone; were her cheeks still red?

[div class=tag]outfit[/div] this [/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] Mercedes and Cade had almost been late arriving to the luxurious cruise ship they were going to be spending the next 3 months on. Truthfully, it had been Sadie's fault, though when Cade had pointed that out to her she'd just shrugged and brushed it off. They were only here because they'd dared each other to go, not because they expected to find love.

Honestly, Sadie didn't believe her soulmate was on this ship, large as it may be. She knew Cade felt the same, even if he hadn't said a word about it. But three months of free food, drinks, and dancing? Sure, she could hang with that. It'd be a nice fucking vacation, and she deserved it. Or at least, that's what she'd said to finally convince Cade to go. He'd been grumpy since this morning, but she didn't mind. She was used to his attitude.

After boarding, they'd both been shown to their rooms, which were unfortunately not near each other. She'd spent the next few hours getting settled and ready for the single party the brochure had advertised. Once she finished, she sent a quick text to Cade, letting him know where she'd be, should he choose to attend too. She'd already warned him that he wouldn't be spending the entire trip holed up in his room.

He didn't text back, but that didn't surprise her. She took one last look at her reflection and left her room, finding the singles party quite easily. Stepping inside, she felt the bass thumping in her chest and grinned. This would be fun, she was sure of it. Making her way to the bar, she ordered two shots of fireball and a jack and coke.

They were placed in front of her in seconds, and she downed one of the shots. Glancing around, she saw a guy standing not far from her, and she shrugged. Fuck it.

Sliding closer, she offered the little glass to him. "Hi! I'm Sadie. Fireball?" [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

[div class=tag]outfit[/div] this [/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] They'd almost been late. Honestly, Cade wouldn't have minded that much. Well, maybe a little, considering how much the tickets had cost. He was only going for the free food and booze. Love? Ha. It was a joke, and not a funny one. After everything he'd seen, he didn't believe that soulmates existed, though he wouldn't mind a good lay and finding something interesting at the bottom of a whiskey bottle.

After he and Sadie separated, he spent a few hours in his room, watching TV and bullshitting. He thought about going to explore, but decided against it. Leaving the TV on for background noise, he took a shower and unpacked a little bit. Despite what people thought, he actually liked organized and clean spaces.

When his phone buzzed, he glanced at it, rolling his eyes at his friends mention of the singles party. He didn't plan on going, although a few minutes later he thought about it and changed his mind. He couldn't just sit in here all night; he'd go crazy. Plus alcohol, he could use some of that for sure.

After putting a different shirt on, he made his way to the large club room. Immediately he spotted Sadie at the bar, trying to offer a shot to someone. He shook his head and headed past her, figuring he'd catch up to her later. At a different part of the bar, he ordered two shots of whiskey, downing them both when they were set in front of him.

He ordered two more and finally looked around. There was a girl not far from him, and he couldn't help but smirk at the look on her face. She looked about as happy to be here as he did. Two more shots were slid in front of him, and he raised one in her direction, giving her a slight nod. [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]Maddison Scott [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]the graduate student[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] The sound of the waves crashing against the sides of the pier was rhythmic, almost seeming to match her heart beat in time. Her hazel eyes were closed, feeling entirely in the moment if only for a short period of time. It seemed like forever since she had felt the sun on her cheeks, the cool ocean breeze flowing through her auburn hair. It almost felt like she was a kid again, running around the streets of San Diego with her brother and getting into trouble. Unfortunately, the nostalgic feeling was gone with the sound of her ringtone from her back pocket.

Maddison immediately opened her eyes, pulling out her phone and scrolling through the email she had just received from her colleagues at the university. She let out a heavy sigh and typed out a response. Sure, she loved her job, it had always been and would continue to be her number one priority. Her research was important, and could contribute to so much future knowledge of space and the universe. But the stress of constant work with no play had started to get to her.

"Hey!" Maddie complained, her phone being pulled from her hands and held above her head just out of reach. Her brother stood in front of her, holding the phone up with a coy smirk on his face. "How are you older than me and still so childish?" she groaned, shooting Jacob a glare. The man rolled his eyes and held her phone back out to her just as his own rang in his pocket. Maddison snatched her phone, muttering 'hypocrite' under her breath as Jacob immediately took out his phone and texted back.

Without waiting for her brother, Maddison grabbed her bags and boarded the boat, following the information on her ticket to her suite. Immediately after she walked through the door, Maddie was in awe. The room was perfectly decorated with modern yet oceanic tastes. A queen sized bed sat in the center of one wall opposite a personal balcony overlooking the water. She pulled her bags up alongside the bed, intending to unpack. But before she could, she noticed a white envelope on the pillow: an invitation to that night's introductory 'Single Mingle.'

Almost as if on cue, there was a pounding at her door. Letting himself, Jacob threw himself down on her bed, white envelope between his fingers. He was already dressed in a sleek black suit and grey button-up, his hair perfectly tousled. Maddie couldn't help but roll her eyes at her brother, already ready for the party merely minutes after boarding the cruise ship. He was nothing if not efficient. "Better just get ready, sis, and unpack later. Your soulmate might already be out there waiting for you," he teased, a playful smirk complimenting his sarcastic tone.

Deciding his teasing didn't deserve a response, Maddison spun around and took her bag into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. A few hours later, Maddison and Jacob pushed through the front doors of the nightclub, immediately bombarded with flashing lights and heavy bass. While she knew this was Jake's element, she couldn't have felt more out of place. Her phone was vibrating every few seconds with emails and texts from various colleagues that she needed to answer. "I'm going to the bar," Maddie said to her brother, distracted by the glowing screen of her smart phone. With that, the graduate student found an empty seat at the bar, ordered a cocktail, and began to reply to the ever-growing pile of emails.

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]Jacob Scott [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]the entrepreneur[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] "I know, I know. I'm going to be gone for a while. But honestly, this is why I created the team of advisers that I did. Just in case, you know? Besides, I'll still have my laptop and cell phone. So it's not like I'll complete be off the radar," the brunette said into the microphone of his iPhone, running a hand through his hair. A single strong voice, belonging to a man that was at least twenty years older than the young man standing outside the large cruise ship, responded with a simple "Alright, you're the boss," and the line cut. Jacob pulled the phone away from his ear, rolling his eyes at the 'End Call' screen. Being the young boss of a luxury sports bar empire had its perks, yes. But dealing with uptight men in business suits who secretly hated someone who could be their son? Not his favorite attribute.

Jacob raised his chocolate brown gaze, finding his sister leaning against the railing of the pier with her own phone in hand. While he tended to balance work and play, Maddie was all work. The only time he really hung out with her since she started graduate school was mandatory 'Wine and Dine' Saturdays at Nana's. And even then, she would sneak out her phone to read emails, take down notes, or read scientific papers whenever their grandmother wasn't looking. With a low chuckle Jacob crossed over to her and picked the phone from her hands, holding it up in the air just out of Maddison's reach. "Hey! How are you older than me and still so childish?" He parted his lips to respond but was cut off by the email notification on his own sounding off.

By the time Jacob had answered the email, Maddison had already disappeared on to the boat. That was Maddison for you: headstrong and stubborn. Jacob grabbed his duffel bag from the ground and threw it over his shoulder and crossed the bridge onto the Heart of the Ocean cruise liner. Jake had never been one for stopping to smell the roses. So he immediately found his room and changed into a look worth of the 'Single Mingle' invitation he had found on his pillow. After stopping to pester Maddison in her room, the siblings found their way to the nightclub for the party. Upon stepping foot onto the floor, Jake immediately began scrutinizing the room. It was high end and modern, he had to admit. But no where near the luxury of his own businesses.

"Stop it, Jake. Nana paid a lot of money for these tickets. Make sure you appreciate it and give it a try," Jacob muttered to himself. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his black suit pants and slid through the moving bodies on the dance floor, finding his way to an open booth in a slightly less crowded and thus quieter part of the bar. A waitress, dressed rather modestly in comparison to some of the other woman in the bar, approached with a pad of paper and an expectant look. "Bring me the largest Moscow Mule you've got," he said with a charming smile, waiting only a few moments before a pitcher of the vodka-infused beverage and a copper mug was sat on the round marble coffee table in front of him. Filling the mug, Jacob took a sip and smirked. "I guess let the party begin."

Rocky Rucker

| Location: Home -> Room on the ship -> Bar club | Mood: Excited -> Serious | Interactions: Fanaa Fanaa Avery | Outfit |

After his assignment was frozen due to the incarceration of the high priority target, Rocky had the luxury of an easy period of great work life balance. It gave him the freedom of time and mind that let him decide that he would adopt a child. The best decision he would ever make, if you ask him. Weirdly enough he had a psychotic serial killer to thank for that. Not that he ever would. But now that same man was miraculously set free as a result of some shady lawyer shenanigans and Rocky was back on the case just like that. However, this time his assignment was slightly different. Honestly, it was probably the most unique assignment Rocky would ever get or hear about in his life. He has been assigned to tail and observe the high priority, high risk, dangerous person of interest, Sakari Lethonen, to see if he was planning to conduct any more crimes or if he was reformed. Based on Rocky's findings, the government was prepared to extend Lethonen a job opportunity so they could learn from him. It sounded insane to Rocky but he was just following orders. The really weird that he was going to tail this gut on a love cruse? A serial killer. On a love cruise. What? As ridiculous as it was Rocky was ready for it. Though he couldn't shake the feeling that some higher power in the world was telling him that he really had to get a move on with forming a real family for Brad. Priority: Make sure no one gets murdered. Side quest: Woo a person who would fit in with him and Brad.

With priorities in check it was time to pack. Rocky had a week to prepare and explain to Brad that he would have to stay with his grandparents for a few months. Brad understood but was not too happy about being away from his father for so long. It would be painful for them both but they would still talk plenty. Rocky promised. They spent the week together going snorkeling, hiking, and just hanging out in the house while Brad helped Rocky decide on clothes to pack. Once the week passed and time came to head out to the ship the two shared a long lasting hug. "Love you, sport." Rocky said while ruffling up Brad's hair during their hug. "Love you too. Don't get hurt." Rocky stood up, grabbed his bags full of clothing, electronics, and gadgets for his mission. "I should say that to you! Don't go anywhere alone. Especially back to the rock wall you've been trying to climb." Brad groaned and stamped his foot. "I have to wait three months to go back?! Dumb." Rocky laughed and shrugged. "Guess you'll just have to play in other places and do your school work." He then hugged his parents goodbye and on his way out the door his father called out to him. "It wouldn't kill you to find yourself some love while you're there!" Rocky brushed it off. It just wasn't his thing but hey, you never know what can happen.

Rocky got to the dock the day after mission briefing. His objective was clear and his boss had reminded him to stay mission focused, though he was allowed to enjoy himself. He didn't need to be told twice. He will still be following orders! On his way to the ship he messaged one of his friends who mentioned also going on a cruise. "Hey I'm boarding the Heart of the Ocean now. If you see my ship while we're out at sea let me know! Maybe we'll dock in the same place!" Avery is another single dad who shares similar interests as Rocky. They've bonded over the social networking app Outdoor Single Dads where, with an account, you can share photos and chat with other single fathers who want a place to brag about their children.

Rocky made his way to his room with his bags in hand. His jaw dropped upon entering the suite. The place was beyond spectacular! An rush of excitement ran through him as he laughed like a child in disbelief and jumped on the bed with the door slamming behind him. The room was so modern and beautiful! He absolutely couldn't wait to bring people back because they would be very comfortable after an... active and long night. Once he hopped off the bed to put his things away and get settled, he noticed the invitation to the Single Mingle party. "Well it looks like I'm about to go clubbing. Very professional clubbing." He giggled to himself. "This is the weirdest thing to do while 'at work'. But...Well it would be a good place for a murderer to scope out a target. I have to go." With a shrug he showered and got ready. After much internal debate and a few pictures of outfit options being sent to Brad, he finally put on his attire for the first night. Which he of course accessorized with a watch and the necklace he refused to take off.

Once walking into the club the intense beat of the bass surged through his body. With a grin he walked over to the dance floor and had started to bust out some awesome moves before he cut himself short. Focus, scope the place for Lethonen first. He made his way to the bar because the bar is normally placed at a great vantage point. Well what do you know? Lethonen was at the other end of the bar speaking to a cute girl in a black dress. Do not panic. You can't just assume he's going to kill everyone. He approached the bar and overheard a man order gin on the rocks. He nodded toward the bar tender and raised his finger. "Same here." When he turned to express his approval of the stranger's drink of choice he felt like he knew the person. With a quick action he pointed at the blond male and smiled. "Avery? I didn't know you'd be on this cruise!"

Peekaboo! (Keeping this here in the event I figure out what to use it for because it's cool)

“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
Hyun Sumin wasn't necessarily sure he wanted to be here. There were way too many people. He didn't know what he'd been expecting, but it certainly wasn't this. Of course, the chances of him finding his "soulmate" in a small group of people were enormously slim, but out of three-hundred? Now, don't get him wrong: he was excited for those odds as much as he was sick to his stomach. But... three-hundred people? And he was expected to socialize with them without freaking out? Maybe with some alcohol in his system he could, but he didn't have a very good tolerance to drinks. It was far more likely that he'd make a fool of himself in that case. So what were his options? Frankly, he wasn't didn't have a clue.

As the bass thudded against Sumin's rib cage, he began to feel nauseous, turned around, and left the club. He wandered through the hall, his mind drifting aimlessly from one idea to the other. There had to be some way to get out of this. Or was he stuck now? Could he swim back to the mainland? No, no. He needed to do this. His friends had encouraged him to be here for a reason. They knew love would be good for him. Or, rather, they believed it. Whether it would or not was yet to be decided. Hopeful thoughts, Sumin, hopeful thoughts.

"Alright," he murmured, turning back around about halfway to his room. "Third time's a charm, right?" He prayed that no one was listening in on him right now; he probably sounded crazy, talking to himself like this. Then again, he didn't much care for that right now. His focus was placed solely on conquering his anxiety of people. "Just for five minutes. Give it a try for five minutes. If things don't get easier, you can leave." He began the walk back to the nightclub, not seeing another soul around save for a few crew members. It was sort of eerie, being the only one out here by himself, and he quickened his pace. As the music got louder, he knew he was headed in the right direction.

Reaching the club again, Sumin entered, his eyes taking in so much information all at once. The lights, the sounds, the smells, the sights... It was overwhelming. As someone who was very analytical, he turned his attention to the many faces, trying to understand them or, at the very least, make sense of who they were as a person. For a few moments, he stood there, staring at the crowd with furrowed brows, before he realized he might look quite creepy right now. He adjusted his tie, straightening it over his plain dress shirt and made his way over to the bar. Screw avoiding intoxication. He needed to loosen up.

When the bartender was free, he ordered the first drink that came to mind: a Malibu Sunset. He liked the fruity, tropical taste it had. It was one of the few alcoholic beverages he drank. He sipped at his drink greedily once it was prepared, wishing for it to transform him into a more sociable person. Of course, it wasn't magical, and it couldn't just take away his anxieties with a snap of his fingers, but surely it would help. He wasn't used to this sort of thing. He rarely got out often, his priorities work, sleep, and more work. That was it. That was his life.

God, he really did need to loosen up.

Ivy-Rose couldn't be more excited about this cruise, it was the first time she finally felt completely free, after spending most of her life in and out of the hospital, this felt like a new beginning even if her parents weren't that excited about the idea of her going on a cruise and even less one where most people were single, they thought the idea was odd but Ivy-Rose wanted not to only be free and live for once, she wanted to experience love for the first time, not the one she had for her parents or friends, she wanted to know what meant to fall in love and she hoped this was the opportunity to find the one for her.

When she arrived at the cruise she was mesmerized with everything, not only the view was breathtaking, but the cruise was like taken out of a movie she couldn't believe she was going to stay there. She was taken to her room with the help of the crew members, once she was established in her room, she lay down on the bed, it was the most comfortable bed she has ever had even more than the one of her own bedroom, she could get used to this place without a problem, but as she was relaxing she saw an envelope next to her, she opened it, to see an invitation to an event "Single Mingle" in the nightclub. Ivy-Rose was completely excited about the invitation, this was the first time she was going into a nightclub, mostly because she turned 21 and also because she was finally able to go due to her health. She decided to unpack and choose something that was cute but still was comfortable enough for a fun night.

Once she arrived into the night club it was just like she have seen in movies, people dancing and drinking and the loud music that meant you needed to yell in order to be heard, she didn't want to seem out of place and have everyone noticed she was a newbie when it came to going to a club. She took a look around and see everyone that was there some guys caught her eye but one in particular who was sitting on a booth was the one who piqued her interest, she walked towards the bar and asked the bartender for a virgin margarita, receiving a strange look for the guy who was behind the bar, even if Ivy-Rose was allowed to drink, alcohol was something she couldn't do due to the constant medication she took when she got sick, so it was better to try to stay as healthy as possible.

After she received her drink she walked towards the booth the guy was and smile at him "A handsome guy sitting all alone, seems like a little odd. Don't you think? But I guess I can change that, mind if I sit with you? I'm Ivy-Rose by the way" she said confident but flirty at the same time, hoping the guy wasn't waiting on someone else.

His piercing blue eyes now took in the individuals around him. There were way too many people yet to really put them into categories yet. Furthermore people tended to dress up for things like this, definitely since it was the first meeting and introduction. You had to make a stunning first impression, right? On the other hand, none of these people mattered unless two. Well, one he wasn't sure of existed and one... Well the other one was of course the whole reason he was here and so far he had not spotted them. He brought the glass of vodka to his lips once more and took a sip of that burning liquid. He loved the burn of alcohol down his throat. His eyes scanned the room again to see if anyone stood out or not. It fell to some interesting tattoos and clothing choices, but again nothing that really stuck with him.

Not until there came a rather innocent and timid looking Asian into the room and immediately turned on his heels to walk out. He frowned as his curiosity almost got the best of him. He even straightened a bit up, ready to leave the seat as his attention was suddenly requested by something else entirely. A sweet soft voice calling out to him, specifically. He had seen her standing at the bar before, and in the time he had been focussing on the Asian Bunny, she had apparently decided to make his way over to him. He couldn't have helped it to have his interest taken by such prey like behaviour, somehow it triggered him. Like he was a real predator. Perhaps he was. But alas, he'd have to give his attention up to other things. Namely the lady in front of him. Who had asked him if he was waiting for someone. On a singles cruise.

Internally he already had rolled his eyes a million times, but outwardly he kept that friendly smile. He even pulled it up a bit brighter. "Good evening, miss," he greeted her back. Polite and respectful. Very much in style with the clothing he wore. His eyes traveled quickly over her and what she was wearing. She was an attractive lady and he had to admit he liked her dress and the subtle way to show off her chest without it being tacky or slutty. She had a rather pleasant energy as well and a very pretty smile. He had noticed the hints of a blush on her cheeks, though couldn't guess the origin of that. Maybe the heat of the room? Or the adrenaline and nerves of making the first move? "According to my invitation I am very single and ready to mingle," he said with a soft chuckle. Though he could of course have been here with a friend or sibling. He had to give her that.

The male chugged the last bit of his glass. Time to move a bit more around. He hated staying in one place too long. Definitely knowing he was watched. Or more assuming he was. Furthermore he still had a target to find and from here figure out his plan. "Would you like to dance, miss...?" He let a little silence fall at the end of that question to indicate he was searching for her last name without asking directly for it. He slipped down from the bar stool and held out his hand for her to take. Modern dances and the body grinding was not really his thing. At all. But he could do some ballroom dancing and latin dances and this music was perfect for some salsa. Hopefully she would know how to as well. "If you are of course not waiting for someone else yourself?" He teased gently. She wouldn't have come up to him, if she had been waiting for someone.

Jessica continued to quietly enjoy her drink in peace. She was still unhappy about being on the cruise. Finding that special someone was no longer a priority. Still, she should just drop it and just let it go. The whole cheating thing happened when she was seventeen! And that was eight years ago. As the thought of it traversed into her mind, Jessica chugged her drink before waving at one of the bartenders for a second one. Perhaps she should have eaten before coming here to drink. Oh well, too late now! As long as she doesn't wake up next to anyone in bed, it was fine. Peering out of the corner of her eye, she saw a young man taking two shots and didn't really pay much mind to it as she scanned around the club. As she looked around, she saw...Elise!? What was she doing here!? Great...As if this cruise was not agitating enough. Her former Best Friend was here! Who was she talking to? And why was that guy wearing a two-hundred year old suit? He was definitely out of place. And if Elise was chatting it up with him, her taste in guys have definitely gotten weirder since High School. The longer she looked, the angrier she got. She then set her glass down.

Looking back at the guy who took the shots, it would seem that he had ordered another set and looked right at her, nodding. Was he inviting her to come take a shot with him? Quietly, she just walked over to him, seeing that he wasn't all that far. Without looking at the glass, she maintained eye contact with him before downing the single shot and setting the shot glass aside. "Thanks, I guess..." She said before leaning on the counter. "You seem thrilled to be here too..."

Avery

Location: Cruise :- c̶l̶e̶r̶b̶ club
With: Sadie and Rocky
Mentioned: Rocky [@iShyShy], Sadie [@Goldieloxx]

The first rule of responsible adulting was to always accept drinks from strangers. Avery offered the woman, who introduced herself as Sadie, a smile. The blonde honestly wasn’t expecting to be approached so quickly. Even though he was certain it was just a casual gesture he was glad he was still approachable and didn’t reek of exhausted parent or that of a person who hadn’t been in any sort of romantic relationship with a person in years. “I’m Avery.” the hazel-eyed male introduced. “Thanks.” Avery took ahold of the glass, taking one swig, emptying it entirely.

“Next one's on me.” he insisted, ordering another round before turning his attention back to the beautiful brunette. “So do you think you’ll find the one tonight?” he asked jokingly; a nightclub wasn’t the most romantic setting, he couldn’t imagine telling his daughter that he met the love of his life in a place like this. Avery felt his phone vibrate, signaling that he had received a message, but with the lighting, he found it difficult to read, so he thought it best to wait.

Luckily for the blonde, the man who sent him a message was now standing right in front of him. “Rocky?” Avery lifted a questioning brow. This was a pleasant coincidence. “Yeah I guess I’m tired of being single.” a soft chuckle escaped his lips. He really wasn’t expecting to know anyone on the cruise, but he was glad to see someone who was on the same boat as him (haha see what I did there). The blonde looked over at Sadie, “Sadie, Rocky. Rocky, Sadie.” he said as he gestured between the two. “Anyone want to go embarrass themselves on the dancefloor with me? I’ll feel like I’m brooding if I stand at the bar all night.”

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]Jacob Scott [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]the entrepreneur[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] Jacob glanced around the bar, noticing it was starting to fill up with a variety of people. He had always been a people person, charismatic and persuasive. That's probably why he was able to make it so far in the entrepreneur/business world. With such a vast empire of luxury sport's bar under his belt, it would seem as though Jacob would be able to get whatever he wanted. In reality, he was like his sister in nature: a workaholic. Jacob spent far too much time working and worrying about working that it had kept him from having any meaningful relationships outside of the friends he made at work. And in the rare free time he did have, the brunette spent most of it partying rather than working on himself.

Jacob leaned back on the couch, copper mug in hand. He stretched one arm out across the back of the bench, getting comfortable as he took in the scenes of the bar around him. A few people had apparently already hit it off, some dancing skin to skin to the beat of the music and others already making out in a dimly lit corner. While Jacob was the party-type as well, he did want to follow his Nana's wishes and potentially find a partner on this cruise rather than a simple one night stand.

A voice caught Jacob's attention, pulling him from his people watching. He turned his gaze towards the woman who had approached him, eyeing her curiously. She was pretty, in a cute and quirky way, with light brown hair and soft hazel eyes. Even the way she dressed was what he could only describe as adorable. He grinned at her words, admiring her confidence and gesturing to the seat alongside him. "Nice to meet you Ivy-Rose, I'm Jacob," the businessman responded smoothly. "What brings you to this 'Singles' Cruise?' Certainly a pretty girl like you doesn't need something like this."

[div class=tag]outfit[/div] this [/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] Talking to new people had never really been a problem for Sadie. She wondered how Cade was faring; if he'd come to the singles mixer at all, or if he was still brooding in his room. The thought made her want to laugh, but she didn't want the guy in front of her to think she was crazy-- or laughing at him-- so she kept her face impassive. With the same smile on her face as before, she watched as he took the glass and downed the liquor.

"You sure?" She questioned, but he was already turning back to the bartender to order another round. "Works for me!" Excited to get the night really started, she downed the shot almost as soon as it was handed to her. "The one?" She echoed, a light scoff to her tone. "Please, he's probably not even on this ship. Too busy walking around in a revolving door somewhere. What about you?"

Another man approached them, and it became clear that the guys knew each other. "Nice to meet you, Rocky." She admired both of the men, almost missing Avery's question. "Dancing? I'm down." Setting her empty shot glass on the counter, she gestured towards the floor and started that way. So far, the music seemed alright, and she could definitely get down with dancing with two attractive guys. [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

He'd just chalk it up to another failed social attempt. Sadie was the socializer out of the two of them, that was a fact. He normally didn't talk to people unless they talked to him first, and that's just how he was.

But she surprised him by approaching after all, maintaining eye contact as she downed the shot he'd offered in her direction. The act brought a smirk to his features; not many people could keep eye contact like that. Impressed, and hoping maybe he'd found a friend at the very least, he took his second shot and slammed the glass down.

"Oh, so thrilled." He told her, returning his attention in her direction. "Tell me, who signed you up for this? You can't tell me it was you, not with that sour expression on your face. What, you don't think you'll find your soulmate here?" [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

His tone and mannerisms were every bit as gentlemanly as his attire, she noted, relaxing slightly. "Elise Jeon," she answered. "You can call me Elise, or whatever you'd prefer," she added after a moment. Although her clients were mostly comprised of French people—who generally just addressed her as mademoiselle and occasionally madame—her own experience of growing up in two countries combined with the diversity of her other clients had introduced her to a variety of conventions of addressing someone. Some cultures dictated the usage of just the last name combined with an honorific, whereas in other cultures, it may be rude to just use the last name; instead the usage of the full name was preferred.

She couldn't quite pinpoint where he was from, though. He was European; that, she was fairly sure of. But...where exactly? His origin was difficult to distinguish from his accent and looks, which didn't seem to quite fit into a particular ethnicity or nationality she knew of; it was like trying to discern the edges of a wraith—not quite here, not quite there; indistinct.

As he held out his hand, she picked up her own glass of rosé to finish it, using the action to cover up her hesitation. Even after years around friends and colleagues who were accustomed to a moderate level of physical contact, she had never quite gotten comfortable with physical contact with guys. Handshakes were fine, but an arm around her shoulder, a pat on the back, la bise...she usually just smiled and went along with it, suppressing her unease.

Draining her wine, she took his hand; she didn't want to make things awkward. "I'd love to dance, but only if you lead," she said, letting out a small laugh. "I've taken ballroom dancing lessons before, for my job, but that's about it," she confessed with a sheepish smile. She wasn't sure what sort of dance he'd be used to, but she hoped she wasn't disappointing him.

I tested them multiple times, and there wasn't a problem. My algorithms were fine," Maddison said into the microphone of her smartphone, a tinge of annoyance in her voice. In truth, she was an all-around sweetheart. Maddie tended to be super sweet, kind, and happy. But when it came to her work, her normal personality sometimes was thrown to the wayside. The irritation in her voice was so out of character for her that her colleague hesitated before responding that he would try them again and get back to her. Maddie hung up without so much as a goodbye.

Immediately, Maddison felt bad about how she talked to her coworker. Sure, they weren't really friends outside of work. But she didn't like to be mean to people. So, she sent an apology text message to him before sitting her phone down on the counter of the bar. It was the first time she had set it down all night, causing Maddie to take a look at the bar around her. It was definitely much more of her brother's scene. The club was loud, crowded full of strangers. She'd much rather be in the quite solace of her lab.

It was then that Maddison noticed someone approach the bar nearby, also appearing to be a little tense and out of their element. He flagged down the bartender and ordered a drink that Maddie had frankly never heard of, but sounded delicious. She tilted her head in interest, glancing back at the gin and tonic in front of her. It was already almost gone. So she finished it off and offered the bartender a smile. "I'll have one of those as well." Turning her attention back to the guy who had sat nearby, she asked, "So what exactly is in a Malibu Sunset anyway?"

Rocky Rucker

| Location: Club Bar -> Dance Floor | Mood: Excited -> DANCE TIME | Interactions: Fanaa Fanaa Avery Sadie apolla apolla | Outfit |

It really was Avery and the surprise was a welcome one. It was an uncanny coincidence that both men were on the same cruise but at least he had a friend on the ship who could assimilate to his situation, for the most part. Rocky's gin on the rocks was placed in front of him fairly quickly and he took a sip with a grin on his face and as he chuckled at Avery's response. He nodded and motioned the glass toward his counterpart. “I feel you there, man.” The statement wasn't entirely true though, Rocky enjoys the flings and sessions he gets to live out. But he had a responsibility to his son.

Avery turned his attention to the short attractive brunette and introduced the two casually. Rocky flashed her a smile and extended his hand out across the bar toward her. “A pleasure.” He then shot her a quick wink as he noticed her taking in the sight of the men. His attention was taken back by Avery asking to dance and Rocky nearly jumped out of the seat. “I'm always ready to dance!” He gulped down his drink with the swiftness of an intoxicated frat boy and hopped onto his feet. Dancing has been one of Rocky's favorite hobbies for years. He has learned so many moves he can show off on the dance floor and loves the vibe the activity brings. Plus, it's a great workout! Sadie seemed to also enjoy the idea since she already was weeding through people to get onto the dance floor. Rocky raised his eyebrows at Avery and lightly bit his lower lip with a head nod toward Sadie to signify that they already were on their game and he was ready for anything the night would bring.

While waiting for his friendly neighborhood blonde Avery to get a move on, Rocky sneakily looked past him to see if Lethonen was giving off any nefarious vibes. Drink empty on the bar top. He was still speaking to the cutie in the black dress but was holding out his hand toward her at this point. Evidently he also aimed to dance. How did psychopath's dance? It looks like Rocky was about to find out. Hopefully it did not entail murdering their partner. The girl also chugged her drink, it seemed like everyone had high nerves that only alcohol could help alleviate on this first night of a long journey. But she ended up taking his hand to be escorted to the dance floor. After that observation occurred Rocky made his way toward Sadie on the dance floor, moving his hips and body to the beat as he made his way toward her with a fun expression on his face that changed with his dance moves. Once he got to her, he reached his hand out to spin her around so they could grind together and Avery could easily join. "Let's see what you've got, girl!" He exclaimed while playfully sticking his tongue out.

Once Rocky got into the dancing mood though, it was hard to keep him contained. If people started asking to dance he would probably take them up on the offer. Or even a dance battle! Clubs were so much fun, especially since his tall stature made him easy to spot and the center of attention usually.

Peekaboo! (Keeping this here in the event I figure out what to use it for because it's cool)

sumin
“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
Sumin continued to sip his drink and get used to the atmosphere, his thoughts occupied by both anxiety and curiosity. He noticed a rather fancifully dressed man. For some reason, this guy had caught his attention. He looked like a vampire. A victorian vampire. He was speaking with a girl, and Sumin tried his best to listen in on their conversation, intrigued. He liked to people-watch, as he called it, and these two seemed to be the perfect specimens. Victorian Vampire and Doe-Eyes. Above that, though, he wanted to see what was "normal" around here. What did people usually say to break the ice? How did they keep a conversation going? How did they test the waters? Was it with their words or actions? And what could he learn from them?

It was then that he heard someone else ask for the same drink he had. He turned his attention to her, blinking a few times. She was pretty, but he knew better than to just judge straight off of appearances alone. In any case, she was talking to him now. He set his drink down and fumbled a bit with his hands, which now sat in his lap, before replying to her. "A Malibu Sunset? You've never had one?" he asked, then mentally slapped himself. Duh. Of course she hadn't if she was asking him what was in it. "Oh, um, it's a cocktail. I believe it's composed of grenadine, malibu rum, and pineapple juice. It's one of my favorite drinks because it's so sweet and... fruity?"

Shaking his head, he bit his lip. He was worried he was making a complete fool of himself, especially considering his poor choice of adjectives. He just didn't know how to talk outside of professional situations, which was pretty strange considering his "professional situations" were rather informal, as he preferred it that way. But when it came to speaking freely like this? He was a mess. That probably contributed to his lack of any sort of relationship. It was also the flaw he feared the most. How was he even supposed to be a part of this singles' cruise if he couldn't even talk to the others without messing up what he wanted to say? Then again, he couldn't just live in fear like this. He needed to step up and speak for himself, whether it screwed him over or not.

"My name is Sumin," he greeted abruptly, then held out his hand. "It's nice to meet you?" That part had come out more like a question than a statement, but there was nothing Sumin could do about it now. Regardless, he wanted to actually make the effort to get to know people here better. Maybe she wouldn't turn out to be the one he was looking for, but that didn't mean he couldn't make some friends while he was here. "You have to let me know if you like the drink or not," he continued, trying to make his words flow as naturally as possible. His thoughts were all over the place, but at the very least he could try talking like a normal human being.

When asked about who signed her up on the cruise, she thought back to the arguments that she had leading up to the cruise, and the amount of time she spent playing videogames on her days off after working out or skateboarding. Because during that time, she consumed a lot of energy drinks, sodas, fast food and Dorito's chips, so she did have to work out and went on a seafood & salads diet to balance it out. She ate out three or four times a week, consumed an energy drink or two once every three days, went through four or five sodas once every three days...and four or five bags of chips a week. She then sighed, still maintaining eye-contact as a Bartender brought her another Corona on draft. She smiled at the bartender as she kept a tight grip on the glass. "Well, it was a team effort. My Mom...My Sisters...My Brother...and like...six of my friends, three were married...two were engaged and one was in a relationship. They all made me go on this cruise because I haven't dated in eight years." She said, rolling her eyes and taking a sip. "And being a general bitch when it came to the stupid topic. So yeah, my family signed me up without telling me and didn't say anything until after it got to where I couldn't back out. So I'm furious with them right now. No phone calls, no Skype if that's even still a thing, muted on Facebook, ignored on Instagram and Twitter...and my favorite, my Brother is getting ignored for Online Gaming..." She scoffed. "Guess who's not getting healed or buffed for his boss fight on World of WarCraft later tonight..."

Hopefully she wasn't scaring the guy, but he seemed a little amused when Jessica came to talk to him. It was better then looking like a lonely alcoholic. Even if she wasn't all that interested in finding a date, it wouldn't kill her to at least make friends. Even if she may not see any of them after this Cruise, the power of Social Media was often underestimated. So at least there was that. Was this guy into gaming at all? She would definitely have to ask him later. When it came to the topic of finding her soulmate, her fierce attitude...completely crashed and she started tightening the grip on her draft glass as she struggled to find an answer. She then slipped into a flashback...

Eight Years Earlier...

It was midway through the school year in December and it was two weeks before the long-awaited Winter Break. Jessica's Brother, Nick was in town. Mom was away at work and her younger sister Ashley was at a Friend's House for some big school project. Not to mention Mom was going to be out with friends after, saying that she was gonna be having 'Poker with the girls'. Jessica couldn't wait to spend time with her Boyfriend, Steven. He was waiting for her back at their home, though for the last month or so, his behavior was a little off, especially on the weekends, but Jessica ignored it, because she was probably just overthinking. Something was off about Elise too. But she was at least distracted by hanging out with her brother. The two siblings ended up hanging out for most of the day since it was a weekend. They had gone to GameWorks and hung out in Seattle until Sundown. On the way home, knowing that Steven was waiting for her, she had decided to order his favorite take-out; Chicken Teriyaki. Her Brother dropped her off at home before going back to his Hotel so that he could pack up.

As she anticipated, the door to her home was unlocked, but she was greeted by a dark home, which was...unusual. Did he fall asleep while waiting for her? When did he arrive? Its really dark in here... she thought.

"Ooooohhhh, Stevie, yes!" A Female voice moaned in the background.

Jessica raised an eyebrow, thinking that it was his phone because he was often on YouTube if she was playing Videogames and wanted to be in her company. "Hello? Steven?"

She then fumbled around for the switch and turned on the lights. What greeted her shattered her heart. She saw Steven...with a semi-naked girl on top of him...On her couch! "Um...A little privacy please?" The girl asked.

"Privacy!?!?" Jessica shouted, balling her hand into a fist and tears welling in her eyes!

"Jessica!" Steven responded in shock.

"Oh...you're Jessica...This must be like, really sad for you." The girl said, wide-eyed.

"That's one way to fucking describe it!" She growled.

"I thought you were hanging out with your Brother. What are you doing home so early?" Steven asked.

"What am I doing here!? First off, this is my house. And I...I was grabbing dinner for us. And...I can't believe that you'd do this, you fucking jerk!" She shouted again.

"I never meant for you to find out!"

"That's no excuse. Actually, that makes it worse!" She started tearing up, the take out bag shaking as she did. "Here's your dinner!"

She hurled the bag at them and it burst open, sending chicken teriyaki, rice and lettuce flying everywhere! A few strips of chicken smacked Steven in the face. "Hey!" The girl on top of Steven screamed a little. "By the way, Elise knew about this for the past three to four weeks!"

That was the last thing Jessica heard before running off down the sidewalk, crying her eyes out as she did so...

Present Day

By the time the flashback had ended, her eyes were red and a few tears rolled down her cheeks. She soon snapped back into reality after hearing glass shatter. Looking back down at her hand, her draft glass had been broken. Thankfully, there were no cuts on her hand, but broken glass was on the counter. "I'm sorry, I...I'll be right back." She walked off as quickly as possible as people the crowd made way for her as she pushed through them, covering her eyes. Once she made it to the club's exit, Jessica ran into the Women's Restroom. It wasn't long until she ran into a stall, locked it and just started crying in the same manner when she was running down the street that same night all those years ago...

Ivy-Rose smiled at seeing that the guy in front of her didn't mind her company, she took a seat next to him but still keeping a little bit of distance, she wanted to get to know the guy and flirt with him, but she didn't want to seem too pushy, she didn't want to scare a guy on the first night and create a bad reputation, she wasn't sure if he was Mr. Right, but she didn't want to miss that opportunity.

"Nice to meet you too" She replied to the guy and then took another sip of her drink as she heard Jacob said "Nice to meet you Ivy-Rose, I'm Jacob," the businessman responded smoothly. "What brings you to this 'Singles' Cruise?' Certainly a pretty girl like you doesn't need something like this." Ivy-Rose felt shy and flattered at the same time and couldn't hide her small laugh at the statement of Jacob.

"Well, first of all, thank you for the compliment I really appreciate it" She said as she gave Jacob a small wink "But I guess if I'm here is mostly the same reason as everyone else in this cruise we are looking for love and every day it gets harder to find the one. Don't you think? And I believe this is an original way to find someone and connect and besides you are also in an amazing cruise and we are sure going to get to these amazing places is like a dream come true" she replied to his question.

"So, I believe is my turn to ask why such a handsome guy is here. There must be a story about Jacob that lead you here, just like everyone else has their own story that brought them here. So what's yours Jacob?" She asked him at first she thought it was kind of a weird approach instead of asking why he came here, but Ivy-Rose was someone that loved stories and believed everyone was the protagonist of their own story and at that moment she wanted to engage in the story of who Jaco was.

"It is nice meeting you, miss Jeon," Sakari spoke as a true gentleman. Her appearance before had made it rather obvious she was from Asia, but that last name, so typical Korean, it made it too easy to pin down where from Asia she was from. Or at least, her family. One could never be too sure about someones true birth place. Even though she hid it well, he noticed that short moment of hesitation and perhaps even discomfort in her eyes. He had gotten very well at reading body language and the subtle hints in someones expression. You had to learn every detail in order to copy and fake it well. "Don't worry, I won't bite," he joked lightly. Perhaps even bringing up a slight vampire reference there, he wasn't unknown to what most thought when he wore clothes like this.

The hitman held her hand lightly, giving her all the room to pull back from him. Honestly he was not a fan of body contact either, but social rules... At least it was better than grinding together like some other couples did. Just as he stepped onto the dancefloor, he could feel an intense pair of eyes on him. He looked up, but just as he did that feeling of getting stared at was gone. Yet it was enough to make him hesitate now for just a few seconds. He shook his head a bit. "Sorry, though I saw someone I know, but that is impossible," he chuckled. He smiled when she excused herself on before hand for a possible lack of dancing skills and he shook his head with a bright smile. "Don't worry about it, I am sure you will do great," he said with an encouraging tone.

The blonde took her a bit more away from the rest of the people so they wouldn't constantly bump into others, plus even a simple salsa would need some room. "I will take it slow, and see how much you can follow," he said. He gently put his hand on her hip as he followed the beat of the music effortlessly. For now his focus was on her indeed as he took slow steps, until he was sure she had the hang of it and sped up. "You said you took ball room lessons for your job," he said, "what kind of work do you do? If I may ask?" Not that he was really interested, but well, it would be weird to stay all silent.

"Also with a name like Jeon, am I safe to assume you are from South-Korea?" the male said with a soft grin. Only to realize immediately after he had not given her the courtesy of knowing his own name. "I am Sakari Lethonen, by the way," he said. He let her a bit go so she could make a spin, before gently tugging her back into his arms. Though he made sure to keep the same respectful distance as before. "And I guess my last name is just as much as a give away where I am from as you," he chuckled. He was already annoyed with how stupid he was acting himself. But well, he had known that from the start that this trip would take a lot of his patience and acting...
