Realistic or Modern The Plague

I glance at Winnie worriedly as I follow him. We arrive at the medical sick bay, and she pales.

GM > Davis

Winnie stops short of the door. "Can I just stay outside and wait for you?" The guard quickly asks why, and she explains that she just does not want to enter the compound.
GM > Kenneth (Since I appear to enjoy your storylines more than his :P )

Conversing happens between Kenneth and the girl, and they agree to leave the compound later today. The doctor calls in the lady, who apparently goes by the name Emilia. Kenneth is left in the waiting room by himself, spare for a guard at the doorless exit to the outside.

I breathe a sigh of relief, and Karen and I get checked. "You're both healthy individuals." He says, and he allows us to walk out. I see another man as I walk out, and I walk over to him. "Ello mate! We're on a quest to build a civilization quite like the ones before the Fall. Would you care to join us?"
"Uh...sure...?" The man replies. "I'm Davis. My daughter is coming out soon." I glance behind me, and I see her walk out. "There's Karen! Anywho, what's your name?" I ask the man. "Robert." He replies. He stands up. "You want to leave now?" He asks hopefully. "Nope. Other people to ask." (I didn't know if that was your character or not...so I decided to post again to try to fix the confusion, only to make my confusion worse...do you want to say another man walked in, or this was in another q-town...or what? I'm very confused.)

Payton

I told the group to stay put and approached the man alone, "Hello." I spoke in a somewhat friendly voice, then took a seat next to him.

She refused to leave her tent some days, meaning at some times she wouldn't eat. Every time someone saw Ella that didn't know who she was, screams of panic erupted in Q-town 21. It was, of course, her scar. Before the fall it hadn't become an everyday struggle to talk to people. And even if you don't look infected there was still so much distrust.

She figured though that today she needed to eat, and crawled out of her tiny tent.

(Sorry for the delay, life is so good at sucking)

DM > Davis

(Ignoring the second post) The man looks at you guys. "Uhh..." he scratches his scruff under his chin. "Who are you?" He has a rather deep voice, and he speaks as he rubs a spot on his right side.

DM > Payton

The man looks up at you. He speaks in a soft, almost boyish voice. "You can't say that this isn't a breathtaking view." He takes a breath and jumps to his feet. "So, where you all headed to?"

DM > Ella

The people around her appear to be conversing. Your Q-town is much like the others, an array of tents fenced in, and of course there is always a guard presence. You begin to walk to the "headquarters" of your Q-town, where rations are given and where some person listens to a radio for communication purposes. Your Q-town is in the central of a forest, and the air feels quite nice, with a certain autumn chill.

"Hmm... Never really took a moment to stop and look at the wonders of nature..." I closed my eyes for a moment, then reopened them, "I-- I mean, we're headed for the nearest Q-town." I stood up, tapping the tip of my shoe against the ground, it was a signal, to tell the group that its all good and they can come out.

"I just explained. I am Davis, this is Karen, my daughter, and there is a person waiting outside the borders, named Winnie. We are on a mission to create a civilization quite like the ones before the Fall, as well as creating a cure for all these disease outbreaks."

DM > Payton

The man takes a breath, and turns to you. It suddenly becomes apparent that he doesn't have a backpack or anything similar. "I actually have a cabin a bit downhill from here. If you can promise me you're clean, I'll take you back there."

DM > Davis

"Uhh..." the man almost seems to have some head injury. "I like it 'ere..." His words trail off indefinitely. (Just for clarification, are you inside the medical border thingy at this point or are you inside?)

DM > Davis

The man appears to be taking a series of deep breaths as he anxiously grabs at the side of his stomach. "They make me painful..."

"I promise I'm clean. Can they come along too?" I took a good look at the group, we began our journey with 9(excluding myself) and there were now only 6(including myself) of us left.

"Well...Erm...I guess I'm gonna go ask some people, then we're gonna head out." I say, walking out.
"Well...Erm...I guess I'm gonna go ask some people, then we're gonna head out." I say, walking out.

DM > Payton

The man takes a brief count of the group. "Sure. Just follow me, alright?" He starts carefully descending straight from the road into the forest.

DM > Caleb

The man looks at his hands as you turn away. There's a few other people sitting, all relatively isolated and quiet. As you approach a skinny man, a voice calls out "Foreigner!" from another room. The other people seem a bit alarmed by the sudden shout, but nobody's moving to answer the call. It's probably for you.

Payton

I followed the man, for the first time in my life, I didn't hesistated, it was kinda weird, I feel like I don't even know muse lf anymore. "So... How long have you been living here?" I decided to strike up a conversation.

DM > Payton

The man answers casually, "Eh, it's just a cabin I used to own before the fall. I'd take my family on vacations down here and, after the fall, we just stayed here. We had a little bit of a stockpile, but we can forage enough to feed three people and start a slight stockpile." The man looks around quickly, but continues. "You won't tell anyone where we are, right?"

Payton

"I won't.. Why don't you live in the Q-town like all the other survivors?" I found the fact that they were away from civilisation rather interesting. Most people nowadays like to feel safe and secure, that's probably the main reason why they all went to the Q-town, but personally, I like to be free,

DM > Payton

The man explains. "In these times of chaos and plague, the more people you accumulate can eventually turn into a liability. If it's just me, my family, and my teen, we're less likely to have someone wander upon a diseased corpse or something. Also, if it's just us and something does go wrong and we all die, it's just three of us, compared to like, three-hundred. If that makes sense." The man finds a tree stump and turns along his path. "My name's Adolpho, by the way."

DM > Davis (You stopped doing headings so my instincts took over :P )

A man, looking rather clean cut, but having the skin tone of an eastern European, is expecting you. He stands from his chair, with a scaple in hand. "Remove your shirt." (Is your other character with you or is she sticking behind in the waiting room?)

Payton

"Payton, Payton McCall." I nodded, "feels good to meet someone different for once." I felt something grabbing onto the bottom my shirt, I looked down, it was Michelle, Daniel's little daughter and someone that I really liked having around. "What is it Mikki?" I stopped walking and knelt down, "cmon, climb up and I'll carry you." She hesistated for a moment, before slowly climbing up my back.

DM > Payton

"Cute girl." your escort says. We eventually come across a small clearing where a wooden cabin stands with a stone chimney attached. The cabin is two stories, and, while it doesn't stand out too much, we notice there's no windows on the building. He takes us around the cabin to the front door, going around the chimney, which appears to have some small words etched in one of the bricks, hard to tell as you pass it at first. He starts to dig through his pockets. "By the way, if you feel like you want to stick around for a bit, feel free to. Just promise you'll go out foraging with me."

"I'll think about the offer, thank you. In the meantime, I still need to get them to Q-town, most of them are trying to find their families." I examined the cabin, "You Wanna stay here?" I nudged Michelle, who was getting a little tense, she shook her head "Mommy says we're going somewhere safe to find uncle Steve... Are you leaving us?" She whispered in my ear, I didn't know how to put 'yes, I am leaving you guys' in a nice way, so I stayed quiet.

DM > Payton

The man gets his keys out and opens the door. "Alright, welcome to..." he tries to think of something witty to say, but after a short pause, just continues, "...my house! My wife is out foraging, and my son is probably sleeping. Just make yourself cozy, and I'll get some food for you all."

(Btw, for whoever cares about Kenneth's story, I think I'm gonna let him go dark. He didn't vanish from existence, but we may see him again.)

Payton

It was hard to make myself sit still, I rubbed my sweaty palms back and forth against my fears, then jumped up and wondered around the house, Michelle left Sara and the others that were chatting and followed me, "Are there books here?" She held my hand, "I'm sure they do, maybe you can ask Adolpho and maybe, just maybe he'll lend you some to read." I smiled and squeezed her hand, "Yeah?... Yeah.." Her eyes lit up.
