Conor Sullivan

conor2-jpg.368629

Conor had been dragged out of his happy daydream when the gunfire began. This was all too
familiar to him and all he could feel was an inner rage as he watched Lucy and James both take
a bullet and fall to the ground. He saw Sinead stood frozen and pointed to corner opposite him,
where there were no gunmen. “Get out of the way!” he ordered her, to which she obliged.

Conor then turned his attention back to the gunman, who he by now knew full well was Angel.
Just as the man was about to pull the trigger to shoot James in the head, Conor wrestled the
gun out of Angel’s hand and slammed his fist into the Italian’s jaw.

Leo Davide

Whilst in the van, Leo kept running through his mind what he had to do. He fixed his eyes on Angel as the man approached him and handed him the loaded tommy gun. He nodded his head as he was reminded his was doing this for his dad. "Thanks," he simply replied to Angel. He gave the man a nod before focusing on the weapon he was holding. When the time came, Leo, taking inspiration from Angel, covered his face with a bandanna, leaving only his eyes showing.

Whilst Angel did his thing, Leo followed some of the other goons, entering the church from the main entrance. Leo fixed his eyes on the person he had been ordered to kill and as the gunfire began, she predictably rushed out of her seat. Kate barely had chance to run for cover before Leo emptied a round of bullets. Four bullets ripped into Kate's chest. before a bullet landed right in the centre of the woman's forehead. That was the fatal shot which wiped out the woman's life in an instant, causing her lifeless body to fall to the floor. Cassie had cowered behind the seats and she screamed out when she realised Kate was dead.

Leo momentarily froze on the spot as the shock of what he'd just done sank in. He had to remind himself of why he was here and why Kate had to die. She was the one who gave the Sullivans the tip-off about the weapons deal at the pier - it was because of her that his father ended up being killed. As for the Sullivans, they were the ones who had attacked him and Athena; and they were the ones who had poor Olivia stabbed.

Leo backed away a little as he watched the carnage around him. He'd done what Vinnie had told him to do and the hit the Romano boss had put out on Kate last year had finally been carried out. He had proved his loyalty to the Romanos. As far as he was concerned, no more of these wedding guests deserved to die, so he wouldn't mindlessly kill any of these people. He would cover or defend Angel and the others, but he wasn't killing anyone else in this church.

Giovanni "Angel" Gambino

Just as Angel pulled the trigger, he felt a heavy force collide with him, causing him to miss his shot. A loud bang erupted from the gun, the bullet just scraping the right side of James’ head. Angel felt the heavy Irish man send him to the floor. He was too caught off guard to react to Conor’s advances to disarm him. He was easily able to pull the gun from Angel’s grasp. Just as Angel caught on, he also caught Conor’s knuckles with the side of his jaw. The force of the hit was enough to leave a ringing in his ears, but unable to discombobulate him. Angel reactively shot his left elbow out into Conor’s eye socket, before following it up with a right hook to the temple.

The hit was successfully in getting Conor off of him, allowing them both to get to their feet. Angel moved for his back pocket, brandishing a switchblade. He flicked it at Conor, in the motion of a baseball pitcher. Conor was able to dodge the first swipe. The second, however, cut off his tie at the sternum. The blade barely drew blood, only able to skim Conor’s chest. Angel pulled the blade back to the side of his waist, ready to launch the blade into the Irish man’s jugular.

Conor had barely flinched when the blade scraped across his chest. Before Angel had chance to attack him with the knife again, Conor lifted his leg and slammed the bottom of his shoe into Angel’s stomach, sending the Italian stumbling back. Conor was now wishing he’d armed himself, as this would have been the perfect opportunity to put a bullet into the man's skull and end him once and for all. Instead, he settled for walking up to the man with the intention of headbutting him.

As the goons maintained covering fire, one of the Romanos wheeled in the wedding cake. His eyes caught sight of the altar, where he was ordered to wheel the explosive cake. Just as he was getting a running start, a Sullivan round caught his chest. His blood spewed out from the bullet wound and onto the dessert. As he felt the heavy darkness weighing down on his eyes, he lost control of the cake. Instead of heading towards the altar, it beelined straight for Sinead.

Giovanni "Angel" Gambino

The hefty kick to his gut knocked the wind out of him, disabling his advancement. As Conor’s head connected with the bridge of Angel’s nose, he heard a sickening cracking sound erupt as blood began running down the top of his nose. Angel fought through his watering eyes, as his tear ducts instinctively let loose of it’s water. He sent the sharp blade into the side of Conor’s knee. This caused the strong Irish man to submit, falling down to crouched position. Angel was ready to finish this, ripping the blade from Conor’s leg. He then latched his hand onto Conor’s hair and pressed his head into Angel’s chest. Angel then raised the blade above his head.

Just as he was about to shove the knife into Conor’s neck, his eyes caught the rigged wedding cake wheeling down the aisle towards Sinead. He instantly threw Conor from his grasp and tossed the blade aside. Despite the pain in his gut, he sprinted at full speed to a frozen Sinead. In a dive tackle, he wrapped his arms around her waist. His momentum was able to propel the two of them deep into the aisle, away from the wedding cake. It proved to be perfect timing, as the trolley caught the front of the stage and send the explosive wedding cake towards the upper left of the chapel. The fiery explosion instantly obliterated the left wing of the chapel, failing to kill anyone.

Angel laid on top of Sinead, pressing off of her. His eyes were unable to ignore her pregnant belly. Despite his face being covered, she would be able to see the complete surprise in his eyes. He was unable to get a word out before a bullet narrowly missed his head, sending him back into reality. He climbed off of Sinead and followed the group of Romanos who were retreating to the alleyway. Once outside, the catering truck opened the back of it’s door, allowing them all to climb inside. It didn’t waste anytime, shooting out of the alley and down the street.

And with that, love was drained as swift as thunder, with such vile force from the church. Mireya couldn’t believe her eyes at first as she watched James get gunned down, then Lucy shortly following her. A shame, her dress would be scarlet... The situation that only took seconds, felt as if time had slowed it down for everyone to enjoy.

Without thinking, she felt her hand reach down to her leg, removing the small Derringer holstered under her long dress. But, the gun would be of no use. A gigantic blast knocked her back, and she felt a pew fall upon her...

It took a few moments, but her slender frame allowed her to wriggle free. Her long slim dress tattered, her hair tossed, covered in dust and dirt, her steel-colored eyes dazed. Standing still momentarily, studying the church massacre, knowing this image would forever be branded in her brain. Well, one thing was certain, she was a Sullivan now.

Finn Sullivan

Finn watched happily as the couple said their vows, the love that they were feeling for each other only seeming to amplify in the church. Clapping as they kissed, Finn couldn't see how this day could possibly be ruined. That's when they all heard the church doors open and men took open fire on the church. James was gunned down immediately followed by his wife. Finn watched in horror, unsure of what to do at first. He turned to Mireya quickly and new he needed to protect her if he could.

Before he could turn to properly cover her, the explosion sent both of them flying back. Finn had the air knocked from his lungs as he collided with the hard ground. He shook the dizziness from his vision as his ears rang, looking for Mireya frantically in the gun fight. He found her under a pew and quickly moved to her side. "Stay there!" He told her urgently, using his own body to shield her from further harm as he tried to clear his own head. Finn stayed with her until he saw men retreating back to where they came. Then without hesitation Finn moved to pull the pew off of Mireya before turning to head towards James and Lucy, who still hadn't moved from the floor.

Lucy Sullivan

amber.jpg

Lucy's smile was as wide as could be as they began the ceremony. Knowing her family, they all toughed it out through the religious part of it. Not really one for reading to closely into the bible. The vows came next, and Lucy prayed that she wouldn't mess it up somehow. Feeling more nervous than she ever had before. The words flowed naturally however, as if she had came up with them herself and she was pleased when she finished the last of her own vows and slide the ring onto James' finger. As they were finally declared husband and wife, James pulled her in for a passionate kiss, stealing Lucy's breath away as he did so.

The clapping and cheering that followed made the newly married blonde smile even more. Having let her guard down, she finally was getting use to the idea that this was the one moment in her life when everything would go right. Until the doors of the church opened and the familiar sound of gunfire made its familiar appearance. Lucy could feel the bullet lodge itself into James as she held him. A gasp tore through her but before she could even do anything, the familiar sting of a bullet lodged itself into her side. Lucy couldn't hold James weight and before she knew it both of them were tumbling to the floor. Lucy saw the red begin to stain her dress and was alarmed at the rapid pooling of it just as she saw Angel moving in for the final shot over James, aiming directly for his head. Lucy let out a cry as she tried to pull herself up in vain to save her husband, but she was too weak and injured to do so. Conor's form came rushing by and sent the attacker sprawling back. Lucy looked to see their attackers face and wasn't surprised by who she saw.

As the fighting continued around them, the new bride pulled herself towards James' unconscious form, "James?" She croaked as she shook him gently, careful of any bullet wounds. When he didn't respond, Lucy was sent into a panic. Her breathing struggled and she let out a hiss as she held onto her side. The blood had pool even more taking up a good majority of her dress now as she felt defeated. She took her husband's hand in her own and squeezed it, her vision becoming blurred from both the blood loss and tears. The explosion caused the whole church to shake and piece of debris from the ceiling dusted the injured couple. Lucy's ears rang as she let her eyes slide close, giving in to the temptation, not having enough energy to keep them open, shutting her off from the dream turned nightmare around her.

James Porter
arrow-season-4-episode-16-recap.jpg

James slowly pulled away from the kiss but froze as he heard the sudden commotion and the all too familiar sound of gunfire. He thought they'd done it. He thought they'd got through their wedding without a single problem, but now it seemed his fears were about to become a reality. He turned to the entrance where the gunmen had entered, the anger evident on his face, but he didn't even get chance to think before feeling the bullet rip into his lower back, a few inches left from the centre. The pain was excrutiating and the loud groan he let out proved that to those around him. He then heard another gunshot and he saw the bullet had hit Lucy in the side.

"Lucy..." James spoke her name, the worry and pain plastered all over his face. His expression was grave and severe as he tried to ignore his own pain in favour of wanting to help his wife. He couldn't block it out anymore as the pain travelled down the nerves in his leg and he collapsed on the floor. The back of his head collided with the hard floor and knocked him out cold.

Shannon Sullivan
kate-beckinsale-2016-critics-choice-awards-05-300x420-jpg.368272

Shannon had been sporting a gentle smile throughout the ceremony, so proud to see her beautiful daughter marrying such a good man. She only wished Emmet was there to give Lucy away and share this lovely moment with the family. Conor had done a good job, but Shannon wished she could see Emmet standing up there looking proud. Shannon's eyes moved on to Sinead and she could only feel sadness knowing the girl would likely never have this now. Shannon doubted any man in the world would want to be with someone who already had a child and that really did break her heart. For all of their arguments and differences, Shannon was not oblivious to how sweet the girl was and that she had a big heart with so much love to give a man. Shannon wished things could be different for Sinead.

When the Romanos began attacking the Sullivans, Shannon froze for a moment, flashbacks of Emmet's death filling her head. She couldn't believe this was happening all over again. She was snapped out of it when she heard Cassie scream. She looked over to see poor Kate's lifeless body on the floor, murdered by one of Vinnie's mindless henchmen. "Carrick! Get to safety!" she ordered her youngest son.

As Conor began fighting with Angel, Shannon rushed over to Lucy and James, not caring whether she put herself into anyone's firing line. "Lucy!" she cried out, seeing the blood coming from her daughter's side. She bunched up some of the train from Lucy's dress and pressed his against the wound. With her free hand, she reached over to James and took the still man's pulse. "He's still alive," she reassured Lucy, who had by now closed her eyes. Shannon looked over her shoulder to Finn and Mireya. "FINN! Help us!" she pleaded with him. The only other person she was aware of with medical skills was Kate, but she was now dead. Shannon looked desperately to Rayna, a woman she hadn't set eyes on in 25 years. Part of her hoped the woman wasn't already going to end up saying goodbye to her son and the other part hoped Rayna didn't have anything to do with this, being that she was a Romano.

Sinead Sullivan
zoeydeutch-jpg.368352

Sinead couldn't believe what was happening. "Lucy!" she cried out. "Not again..." she quietly told herself as she'd watched the gunman shoot James and Lucy. Sinead had been told countless times by now that it was Angel who had shot Emmet. Whilst she'd closed her eyes when Angel opened fire on her father, she'd since been given a clear description of how he had dressed. The man who had just shot James and Lucy fit that description. When she looked to his eyes she recognised them. How couldn't she? She'd spent so many evenings gazing lovingly into that man's beautiful eyes, but now the kindness she'd seen in them was replaced with malice.

Sinead was brought back to reality when Conor yelled for her to get to safety. She quickly nodded and rushed away from the Romanos to an area that appeared safe. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she watched Conor and Angel fight, all whilst her sister and James were bleeding out onto the floor. This was meant to be a good day. Those two people getting married deserved a life of happiness more than anyone else she knew. Her heart broke for them.

Out of a newly developed habit, Sinead was about to hold her belly, as if to shield the unborn baby from this carnage. She was instead tackled by Angel to the floor down the aisle. She instinctively slammed the side of her fist into the man's shoulder, about to scream at him to get off of her, fearing he'd now turned against her too. Before she could hit him again and scream out, she was shaken by the loud explosion and the sudden realisation that she had been mere seconds away from death. As she caught her breath back, she looked into Angel's eyes as her own reflected pure heartache and confusion. She saw him look to her belly and could see the surprise in his eyes. He now knew she was having his child. "Why?" was all she could weakly ask him before a close bullet snapped him back into reality and he ran off.

Sinead rolled onto her side and clutched at her stomach for her comfort more than her baby's. Everything just made her feel sick and too weak to even struggle back to her feet. Her back and chest hurt from the impact of landing on the ground. Her heart hurt from seeing what Angel had done to her loved ones.

The wedding had gone as planned and Rayna even found herself shedding a tear or two at the sight of James and Lucy looking ever so happy together. The happiness did not last for long however. The sound of bullets founds it way to her ears. Her eyes found Lucy and James shot with blood pooling at the church floor. Her heart dropped at the realization that James was nearly dead except for the action of his best man, which saved his life. Rayna looked to her husband and children. The boys looks mortified. Liam looked so shocked. "Jesus." he whispered, watching the whole showdown.

Finn had already been making his way towards Lucy and James when he heard his Aunt's plea. He took Mireya's hand securely in his own as they made a beeline for the trio. Arriving quickly, he knelt down beside his Aunt, releasing Mireya's hand, looking at both Lucy and James. He let his Aunt fill him in on what she already knew and nodded along as she spoke, trying to stay calm despite the shaking in his own hands. James didn't look well in the slightest. The color had already drained from his face and as he reached in to feel for a pulse, he found it to be weak and almost non-existent. Lucy looked slightly better, the color still evident on her cheeks but were slowly beginning to pale. "Continue to put pressure on Lucy's wounds." He told Shannon as he moved to look at the train of Lucy's dress, where his Aunt was holding a piece of it to Lucy's wound. It had already been covered in blood, past the point of no return, it was ruined. Taking the thin almost gauze like material in his hands, he ripped at the dress without hesitation until he was holding a long piece in his hand. The material wasn't entirely blood soaked, and Finn was going to use it in attempt to stop the bleeding on James.

Looking to Mireya, the man handed her a few pieces of the wedding dress and handed it to her. "Press this to his head, the wound right on the side." Finn said quickly, his eyes bleeding with the woman, hoping she wasn't going to freak out on him. Finn left her to make the decision of whether or not she would help while he moved to find the entry wounds. The man still hadn't moved and his breathing was shallow. "I have to try and move him but I can't get to anything here," Finn told Shannon gravely. "We need to get them both out of here." Finn said quickly.

Conor Sullivan
conor2-jpg.368629

The pain in Conor's knee was excruciating and didn't get any better when Angel dragged the knife back out. The Irishman struggled to stand as he watched Angel make a dash for Sinead. He feared the worst, given that the Italian was on a slaughtering spree, but was slightly relieved after the initial shock of the explosion. At least the sick bastard had done something that wasn't completely evil and he'd stopped his bomb from killing Sinead and her unborn child.

When the attackers fled, Conor limped over to check on David, having seen his mother and the others around Lucy and James. He was upset to find David wasn't breathing and he needed a moment to compose himself before he had to face anyone else. David had been loyal to the Sullivans for quite some years and it was made even worse knowing he had been due to get married soon too. Conor couldn't believe he was gone and were James to pull through, he knew he too would be saddened by the loss of his friend.

As Conor grimaced through his pain, he helped some of the guests to leave the church, sending them apologies and reassurances. When he finally got another moment to compose himself, his eyes fixed on Kate's corpse and he felt the anger and distress building within him. The only thing that stopped him from going into a blind rage and smashing shit up was seeing Sinead still curled up on the floor.

"Come on, Tinkerbell," he said, using the pet name he hadn't used since the day he found out about her and Angel. He took her hands and helped her to her feet, before wrapping his arm around her shoulder, leading her to some nearby seats whilst beckoning Aidan over to sit stay with her. Conor placed a kiss on Sinead's forehead. "Sit down and rest," he softly told her. He wasn't about to start saying he told her so or that she had just witnessed the real Angel, but he hoped by now she saw past Angel's act and saw the bitter truth about the monster.

Once Aidan was with Sinead, Conor limped over to Lucy and the others, still ignoring the blood pouring from his knee. He hoped to God Lucy and James would get through this. They'd already lost loved ones today, he couldn't handle losing his own sister and brother-in-law too.

Sinead placed her arm around Aidan and shuffled close to him. "Why did he have to do that?" she sadly asked. "Lucy and James just wanted to be happy."

The Detective entered the church, with Officer Lockwood close behind. The wedding staff had called the cops as soon as they heard the gunfire and he understood ambulances were on the way too. The lawman remained silent as he looked around the scene. It was far more brutal and disastrous than the night he walked into the hotel after Gianna had been murdered. As a religious man, it sickened him even more to think all of this had occurred in a house of God. This was clearly an attack by the Romanos, he had no doubt about that. He also knew it would be near impossible getting
anyone to admit and testify to that truth. It's why Vinnie continued to do what he wanted in the city without consequence. He took in those around him; living, dead and injured. But he'd already set his sights on where he wanted to be and he arrived there just in time to hear the familiar young man speak of moving Lucy and James.

"Finnian Sullivan," the Detective spoke up, remembering his conversation with Finn months ago. Even amidst all of this destruction, he was already thinking of how both Finn and Lorenzo may be useful to him in this. "Ambulances have already been dispatched. Those two need to be taken to hospital and treated properly," he said, his tone briefly softening as he took in the grim sight of the bleeding bride and groom. He turned to face Officer Lockwood and displayed an urgency in his eyes. "Call the station and have more officers sent down here. But first, get them to hurry with those ambulances."

Vincenzo Romano

As he sat in the office of the hotel, Vinnie couldn't help but wonder how things were going at the wedding. If things had gone right, both James and Kate would be dead by now. Anyone else would be a bonus. He trusted Angel to have given the job his all, but he couldn't help but worry about Leo and the possibility the troubled young man may have backed out or been unable to complete the task. What he did know, was that if Leo stood any chance at being able to protect Athena like he wanted to, he would have to be willing to take another life. Leo killing Kate would surely pave the way to make all of that possible and at the same time it would fulfil one of Vinnie's demands. The last thing he wanted was Kate continuing to tell the Sullivans secrets about the Romanos, especially when it was her big mouth that got Sandro Davide killed.

Vinnie decided he wanted a drink, so he headed out to the hotel bar. He was pleased to see the familiar dark-haired lady was sat at the bar. A smile crossed his face as he decided to approach her. "Good afternoon," he pleasantly greeted the attractive woman. "I've seen you around here a few times now. Can I get you a drink?" he offered, sounding like a real gentleman as he did.

Finn looked behind him as someone called him by his full name, something he wasn't use to. Relief replaced his confused features as he saw the Detective. Finn was well aware of the relationship between his family and the authorities, but he also knew that involving them would be the only way to save the ones he loved. He was sure no one in his family had called, and was sure the disaster could be heard for miles. Finn stood slowly as the Detective began to explain that help was on its way. He nodded lightly and bit his lip, looking back down at James and Lucy. He knew that it was rare that any Sullivan was taken to a hospital for wounds, Lucy's wounds could have been treated at home, but as he looked back down at James he couldn't deny the doubt he felt about saving him.

The pressure was taken off of his shoulder's with the news that the ambulances were on their way. "Thank you Detective." Finn said to him, noting the grave tone the Detective held as he continued to look around at the gruesome scene. Finn turned back to his family when the Detective turned to his colleague, seeing Conor limping up. Finn saw the blood pooling from his leg and cursed out loud. Rushing over to his cousin, he reached out to stabilize him as he made his way towards the couple on the ground. "Sit Conor." Finn told his cousin and slowly moved to help him sit beside Shannon. The amount of blood pooling from his leg was worrisome and Finn was caught thinking on his toes. Quickly removing the belt from his pants he wrapped and secured it around Conor's leg before pulling tight, trying to cut off the blood flow until he could get to the hospital. "This should help mate." Finn said softly, the look on his face showing how deeply sorry he was.

Juliana had started her day earlier that morning, taking inventory of her art supplies and what she needed. She then proceeded to shop around for those supplies. Something she didn't really look forward too despite having a love for art, her paintings still didn't have what most were looking for. Her style was not familiar to a lot of her buyers and therefore was deemed as dangerous and risky territory when buying. Juliana didn't conform to the stylings of present artwork, finding it dull and repetitive. Regardless, the supplies burned and everlasting hole in her pocket. So as she had for the last few days, she headed over to the hotel bar she had stumbled upon a few weeks ago. The supplies was draining her funds, but drinks weren't cheap.

Jewels knew she could always twirl a strand of hair and bat her eyes at the next man she saw and she would be able to obtain a free drink with no problems, but she wasn't in the mood for such games. So as she sat at the bar contemplating whether or not a drink was worth the debt, a voice rang out from behind her. Raising a dark eyebrow, the woman turned in her stool to investigate the face that came with the voice. He was familiar, but as far as names, Jewels couldn't place one. He offered to get her a drink, which was enough to keep her listening. A smirk fell on her lips as he stated he had seen her around here a few times. "Good afternoon to you as well." She hummed his way, "And if you've seen me here before, you must be here just as much as I am." She took a moment to look the man up and down before smiling lightly. " A bourbon neat would be lovely, thank you. Name's Juliana." The woman held out her hand for him to shake.

Detective Edwards
gbhjgv-png.366263

The Detective nodded to Finn as the young man seemed reassured and willing for his family to get medical assistance in the same way normal people did. He was all too familiar with the whole code of silence, but Finn seemed to know James' life was at stake here and denying him a hospital would rule out any chance of survival. Besides that, as the Detective listened to the vicar speaking with Lockwood, it became clear the lead gunmen had hidden their faces, so even an objective and trustworthy witness such as Father Foster couldn't even provide a clear identification of the men. The dead Romano who had been about to wheel the cake before being killed, even with a name, any connection to the Romanos would be simply assumptions. Edwards wanted the name of the man who had shot James and Lucy - the one he had no doubt was also behind killing Emmet Sullivan. He would make the mystery assassin his focus now.

The Detective briefly observed the scene, taking everything in with his own eyes despite his colleagues taking photographic evidence. He trusted his own eyes more than a black and white picture. As Father Foster finished giving his statement, Edwards asked one of his colleagues to keep a close eye on the man for now. Even though he'd given away nothing of real significance, he still wanted to secure the religious man's safety.

Conor stumbled into a seat when Finn told him to sit. "I'm fine..." Conor told him. Though, Conor's leg could be hanging on by a mere thread and he'd still maintain that he was fine. Regardless, he let his cousin tend to him whilst he looked around at the carnage around them. "Thanks, mate," he distantly told Finn as he said the secured belt around his leg should help. "I can't believe I didn't stop this from happening. It was up to me to keep everyone safe today."

"You shut your damn mouth, Conor!" Shannon suddenly snapped, taking her eyes from Lucy and James for a moment. "This is not your fault. We know whose fault this is," she assured him, lowering her voice so no cops could hear. "You couldn't have stopped this."

"I could have killed him, though," he said, referring to Angel. "I was so determined to strip away any darkness from what should have been a beautiful day. If I'd let James and me keep our guns... There was a perfect opportunity for me to finish that bastard off for good and I didn't have my gun."

*******************

Soon enough, the ambulance arrived, with the paramedics and doctor rushing onto the scene. After quickly checking on Lucy, the bride was carried off into one of the ambulances, with Shannon going with them in the ambulance to the hospital so she could be by Lucy's side at all times. One of the medics began tending to Conor's knee, which would still need tending to at the hospital, but wasn't a major injury. Conor refused to leave the church until he knew what was going on with James, so the medic had to stay with him while they waited.

Once they'd cut through James' clothing, the doctor began to tend to the gunshot wound there, feeling there wasn't time to wait until they got to the hospital. The bullet needed to be removed and the wound closed so James didn't lose much more blood. He could then be tended to properly once in hospital. As they tended to James, the doctor was briefly taken aback by the number of existing scars on the man's body. It was clear the man had been stabbed and shot at plenty of times before, but perhaps none of those had been as severe or fatal as his current injury. When he was finished, the doctor looked to his colleagues. "We need to get Mr Porter to the hospital, quickly," he urgently ordered them.

Conor demanded they let him accompany James in the ambulance, not wishing to have an ambulance to himself just for his injured knee and also wanting to be with James in case he didn't make it to the hospital alive. "Finn, I need you to stay back here until the guests are all gone," he asked, trusting Finn was the strongest of the Sullivans still in once piece at the church. He was certain Luca would be distressed at seeing Kate killed.

Vinnie returned Jewels' smirk as she addressed him. "I'd say I'm here even more than you are. Not that I have a drinking problem, more that I own this place," he told her. When she asked for a drink, he was happy to oblige and flagged down one of his bar staff. "Two neat bourbons, please," he requested. He then placed his full attention back on the beautiful woman before him. "Juliana, I'm Vinnie," he said, gladly returning the handshake.

Vinnie hopped up onto a still next to her and thanked the waiter once their drinks were brought out. "So, Juliana," he began, taking a sip from his glass. "What does a nice lady like yourself do to keep herself busy?" he curiously asked. "Aside from drinking in hotel bars, of course."

Following the attack, Leo had got back into the catering van with Angel and the others. His face remained emotionless and he himself was speechless. No matter his motives, it didn't stop him from feeling some guilt for ending another person's life and for watching on as others were killed or injured. He now knew he'd got to the point Vinnie had always wanting him to reach and there was likely no turning back from here. Leo left the tommy gun in the van and once he was dropped off at the appropriate location, he let his legs take him to the Romano house.

As he walked up the driveway, he met no resistance from the guards. It seemed like he was now at the stage where he could just walk right on in to Vinnie's place without even having to ask permission first. He wasn't yet sure how he felt about that. As he entered the lounge, he saw Nicolo and Olivia sat together. It seemed like those two were never apart and all that made Leo do was think of a time when he had that with Athena.

"Is your old man home?" he flatly asked Nicolo, unable to see Vinnie around with his own eyes. He invited himself to take a seat on the sofa and practically sank into the cushions, relieved the whole thing was now over with. He'd done what Vinnie and Angel wanted, so hopefully now he had their trust. His conscience would have to take a back seat on this occasion.

As the ambulance and hospital crew arrived, Finn couldn't have felt more relieved. As suspected, Lucy's wound was going to be far more treatable than James'. Once they pin point the wounds and areas of bleeding, they stopped it momentarily and closed it before loading his cousin into the ambulance, all the while explaining to Shannon that they only thing they really were concerned with was the amount of blood that was lost, which explained why Lucy hadn't been responsive since she closed her eyes. Finn knew that the blonde was going to be okay and was glad to see her getting the help she needed. James was a different story.

Once everything had been examined and removed from James' body, they loaded him into the ambulance, his cousin insisted he go with James and really didn't give the crew any other say in the matter. Nodding his head at Conor's orders, he looked closely at both the men. "I will get the rest of them home. Call the house when something changes." Finn told him before letting them all go. The mess of the ambulances and the crew was gone and was now replaced by coroner's vehicles, who had been called to remove the body of Kate and David.

Finn had been shocked to hear the news of their death and was sure that the family was going to feel another great loss because of it. He just hoped they wouldn't have to add more bodies to the mix. Turning to Mireya, the young man let out a shaky sigh and rubbed his faces with one hand. "Are you alright?" He asked lightly, looking over the blonde for any sign of injury. The church was still somewhat full of guests, James' mother and her family was still around, though he wasn't sure if they would be heading to the hospital or not.

"We will stay here until everyone leaves..." He told Mireya lightly, repeating the order's given to him. "Perhaps we can have a ride arranged to take you and the rest of my family back to the house...until we know what is happening." Looking over to Sinead and Aidan, who were sitting in some of the back chairs, he decided it was best to stay near them. Hoping Mireya would follow, he walked towards the two and took a seat on the other side of Sinead.

Juliana raised a single eyebrow as the man revealed that he was around a lot because he owned the place, not because he had a drinking problem. Juliana wasn't entirely sure why she was here majority of the time, out of boredom, or maybe she was an alcoholic? The ebony haired woman turned her lips into another smile as their hands met and shook in greeting. Vinnie, as the man had introduced himself as, sat down on the barstool beside her, to which Jewels' turned her own stool to face him.

Thanking the waiter also, she took a drink from her glass before chuckling a bit at the question. "Making me think while drinking? Shame on you Vinnie." Jewels said, smiling his way, reassuring him that she was only teasing. "Well, when I am not drinking in this fine establishment...I like to read, explore the city, and I am often back at my studio, working on the next canvas that pops into my head." Taking another sip of her drink, she wondered if he thought she sounded boring, realizing that she really didn't have a lot going on in her life.

"I'm afraid there's not much to me besides a pretty face." Jewels sighed with a small smirk, wondering if he would agree with this statement. It wasn't often that Jewels stuck around long enough to let men interact with her like this, but he had offered her a drink and he was the owner, she would be foolish to turn down such an offer. As she looked at him however, she couldn't help but think there was a lot more to him.

Nicolo smiled at Olivia "yeah breakfast sounds lovely, be nice to leave the chaos behind for a while" he said as he watched his father pulled Rayna aside.

.....................
Eventually Nicolo turned around to Olivia "right are you ready to go now?" He asked her but before she could answer, Nicolo heard someone enter the lounge. He looked over to see Leo and the lack of emotion on his face. Nicolo raised a questioning eyebrow towards Olivia before turning to face Leo "No you just missed him, everything alright?" Nicolo asked him. It was evident that Leo was effected by what happened and that didn't surprise Nicolo, given what event had been planned for today.

Snapping back to reality, she followed Finn as he snatched her from her thoughts and headed to the altar. Compressing James’s wound, ironically with Lucy’s dress, her eyes lost their usual flair as the gravity of the massacre was settling in. It felt like an eternity, but ambulances and police finally arrived, taking control over the situation.

Left in the church after Finn when to speak with police and assist his family, she looked down at her blood-stained hands, before running a careless hand through her badly tossed hair. She couldn’t be in her any longer. Taking relaxed steps, she made her way outside the church.

Taking in the fresh air, Chicago thriving on as if nothing had happened, she spotted Finn making his way towards her. “I’ll be fine...” She said as she briefly assessed herself. She had a deep cut on her lip, most likely forming a scar. A few scrapes and bruises, but nothing else. Nodding at his words, she followed him as he went to accompany his family.

Taking a seat besides him, she leaned her head against his shoulder, tired from the trauma. “Bloody hell, i’m a honorary Sullivan now, seeing as another accident took place.” Chuckling mostly to herself, she made the comment loud enough for Sinead and Finn to hear. “That man Sinead... He’s your baby’s father isn’t he? Shame...” Her tone was distant, almost ghost-like, as she rambled truthfully about the situation.

Vinnie lightly laughed along with Jewels as she teasingly told him off for making her think whilst drinking. "Shame on me, indeed," he flirtatiously replied to her. When she mentioned the studio and canvases, he curiously raised his eyebrows. Something there had clearly piqued his interest.

"Juliana, you may be a pretty face but I'm sure you're doing yourself a great disservice by selling yourself short," he assured her. It had been a while since Vinnie had flirted with intention, but he was already enjoying the interaction. "You mentioned you have a studio. I'm a big fan of art and I'm always looking for more works to decorate my many walls with," he told her. "Is your art for sale?" he seriously asked.

Sinead Sullivan

Sinead had sat by Aidan and watched sadly on as Lucy, Conor and James were all led away in ambulances. This was all so terrible and right now she felt pretty low considering she was carrying that madman's child. Although it terrified her, she wouldn't be at all surprised if anyone felt anger towards her in all of this. When Finn and Mireya joined them, she sent them both an apologetic look and gently squeezed Finn's hand. She felt bad that she might had dragged her friend into the crazy darkness that surrounded her family. She hoped Mireya would still wish to be her friend after this.

Sinead's eyes were then fixed on the coroner as he approached Kate's body. Sinead felt a deep sadness for the loss of the woman she had only recently got close to. Kate had been so helpful to her and had been making sure Sinead did everything she had to in order to keep herself and the baby healthy. She was going to miss the young woman's support and friendship. Then there was David. Sinead often teased him, but he was such a sweet man and he always looked out for her, even after she yelled at him for sticking his nose in. But he was gone now too, because Angel had killed him.

Upon hearing Mireya's question, Sinead turned her head and leaned forward a little to look to her friend. "Yes..." she said, slowly nodding her head. She couldn't keep telling herself Giovanni and Angel were two different people, not after she'd looked into those eyes as he attacked her loved ones. "Yes, he is. I'm sorry..." she said, only to managing to whisper the last two words. She looked to the floor as she clasped her trembling hands together. She would forgive anyone who chose to distance themselves from her after this.

Olivia glanced to Nicolo before looking back to Leo. The young man was starting to look different these days and she put it down to his break-up with Athena and what happened to the poor girl not long after. It wasn't nice to see his usually gentle face appeared so troubled and cold. She supposed him spending so much time int he company of Vinnie and Angel would do nothing to help him on that front.

"Yeah, as far as Vinnie is concerned, everything is great. He told me to swing by here once I was done so I could inform him. Clearly, he has more important things to be doing," he drily remarked. Leo knew he would have to get used to this. All of this was just business as usual in the minds of Vinnie and Angel. He wasn't sure what it would take for him to reach such a mindset

Shannon had been by Lucy's side the entire time, or at least standing right outside the door whilst the doctors tended to her daughter's wound. As the bride laid in the hospital bed connected to the IV and heart rate monitor, Shannon kept hold of Lucy's hand, willing the young woman to wake up. In the back of her mind, she was also praying James would survive the operation he was presently undergoing.

It was a couple of hours before Lucy would begin to stir and at around the same time, Conor entered the hospital room, grabbing a seat so he could sit next to Shannon. "Lucy, sweetheart?" Shannon softly spoke to her daughter. "It's mum, and Conor's here. Can you hear me, Luce?" she asked. She was relieved to finally see Lucy awake since being shot.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Finn's cheeks turned a slight pink as Mireya leaned her head on his shoulder. She looked exhausted from the events that had taken place, worse than most of the Sullivan's looked. He supposed that his family was somewhat use to this type of event, in a sick and twisted way. So much so that Finn was able to place his arm around the blonde's shoulder's comfortingly. Finn was trying to keep everyone together, from falling apart within those moments. Wincing at Sinead's response, it was hard to hear directly from her that the man who injured their loved ones was the father of her child. David and Kate were gone because of that man, and James had almost been made a third casualty, if Conor hadn't saved him. Looking over at Sinead, the sadness in her features and in her face was clear enough to show how sincerely sorry she was for the mistake she had made months ago.

Finn's mind bounced back to a comment Mireya had made about being an honorary Sullivan, which made him smile slightly now. Looking around the room, at where a beautiful wedding had been taking place the moment things took a turn for the worst, he shook his head slowly and squeezed Mireya's shoulder slightly as he looked to the rest of his family. "You know, the initiation process of becoming a Sullivan is pretty brutal..." Finn mentioned out loud, referring to the mess that was the church. Staring out at it for a few moments, his eyes made their way over to the altar, looking at the blood stains that now painted the floor there, "But once you are considered one, you will never need another family, for they love more than most." Finn's face turned down to look at the blonde under his arm. "It definitely won't be easy, but we all have your back now."

Juliana almost choked on her drink when he asked if she had any work for sale. It had been months since she sold any item of her work and for the owner of this hotel to seriously ask her about purchasing some pieces was a big surprise for her. Clearing her throat slightly, she composed herself before nodding her head calmly. "You would be interested in my work?" She asked before taking another drink from her glass. "Well...I have more pieces than I can count just sitting and waiting to find a home. I would be more than happy to show you the pieces, though I must warn you," Jewels paused slightly, "My work isn't 'traditional' compared to a lot of your pieces in this building." The woman's eyes darted to a few paintings on the wall that would be drastically different compared to the modernized work she created.

Lucy shifted slightly at the sound of someone's voice and the dull beeping of a monitor. Opening her eyes slowly, the bright light of a hospital room greeted her and temporary blinded her as she tried to get use to the lighting of her surroundings. As her hands gripped the hospital bed sheets, she winced as she moved again, shifting herself up so that she could see around her more. Her blue eyes met her mothers and Conor's, relief painted their faces. Confusion swept across Lucy's features for a moment as she tried to recall what had happened and why she was in a hospital room.

Her throat felt like sandpaper as she swallowed the lump in it, her mind becoming aware that her mother's hand was in her own, she gave it a weak squeeze. The fogginess of the situation began to clear and now she remembered what had happened. "James? Where is he? Is he alright? Did they catch Angel?" She asked in one quick sentence. Her eyes looked between both her mother and brother, looking for any signs of hope that her husband was okay. Lucy moved again, wanting to find him in those moments, but the quick movement caused her to wince clearly agitating her own wound.

Shannon and Conor were both relieved when Lucy woke up and began speaking, though her questions overshadowed any of that relief. Shannon knew they couldn't lie to her daughter and she looked to Conor to make sure he realised that. Nothing good would come of sugar coating the reality of the situation. Shannon didn't know much of what had happened since she left the church in the ambulance with Lucy, so she left it up to Conor to answer her. Meanwhile, Shannon gently stroked Lucy's arm and kissed the back of her hand to comfort her.

"James is... He's currently in the operating theatre undergoing surgery. He lost a lot of blood and remained unconscious after hitting his head. James is in good hands right now and we all know how tough your husband is. He's been through too much shit to let this defeat him," Conor reassured Lucy. In reality, he had been told that they should prepare for the worst, but while there was still a good chance James would survive Conor would hold onto such hope. He shook his head in response to her question about Angel. "No, he got away. He stabbed me in the leg so I couldn't chase after him. I'm sorry I couldn't stop him, Luce..."

Shannon rushed out of her seat as Lucy tried to move but only caused herself more pain. "Shhh. Don't try to get up, sweetheart. You need to rest," she soothingly told her daughter, placing a kiss on her forehead. "We'll get through this. We're Sullivans - we always pull through. James is one of us too and I'm so sure he'll fight through this."

"There's always a place for all kinds of art, Juliana. This isn't the only building that needs it, either," Vinnie assured her. "Now, how about we arrange for me to come see some of your work later on this week? I'd be very interested in seeing your pieces of art and seeing if there is anything that takes my fancy. I must say, you certainly have my curiosity now," he said, referring to her describing her work as something other than traditional.

Vinnie took a drink from his glass before deciding on his next bold move. He was quite a forward man and not one to fear rejection, so why the Hell not? "Tell me, are you free this evening, or one evening later this week? I'd quite like to take you out for a drink, in a fancier bar than this one," he asked her.

Juliana couldn’t have agreed more with Vinnie’s statement about art always having a place, no matter the setting. It was rare for her to find someone else who thought the same way. “That would be lovely.” Jewels commented as Vinnie talked about arranging a day for him to come take a look at what she had. She just hoped the sheer amount didn’t turn him off from buying. Juliana didn’t need a rhyme or reason to begin creating a piece of work. It was almost like an addiction to her, she couldn’t go a day without even doodling.

As she took another drink from her glass, Vinnie’s next question gained a small smile from Jewels and caused her cheeks to darken slightly. Tapping her chin lightly, she appeared to be in deep though. “Well let me look at my schedule.” Pretending to look down at something on the bar counter, she took a moment to observe it before answering. “Seems you are in luck Vinnie, I think I can squeeze you in tonight.” The teasing smile making it clear that she really had no plans.

Lucy did not like the look on either their faces as she immediately brought up her husband’s name. Biting down on her lip hard, she let Conor speak, only sucking in a breath when she heard the condition James was in and where he was now. Tears sprung to the blonde’s eyes as Conor finished speaking. His words told her that he was currently being treated, but she noticed that he didn’t directly reassure her that he would be okay.

Her mother fussed over her condition but Lucy was far from concerned for herself. The dull ache on her side and the stiffness of bandages reminded her as to why she was in the hospital. The anger that began to reveal itself was agonizing. Lucy had openly accepted Sinead’s unborn child moments before the wedding, only to have her entire life flipped upside down by the child’s father. It was conflicting for her, she wanted to see Angel dead.

“It’s not your fault Conor.” She whispered gently, blinking the tears away as they clouded her vision. “I’m glad you didn’t finish him off.” The blonde said closing her eyes as her mother kissed her forehead. “It’ll be more satisfying when I watch the life leave his eyes.”

While Nicolo was ok with Leo joining in on the business, he knew that when Alex found out about the wedding and Leo's part all hell was going to break loose.

Nicolo nodded slowly as he listened to what Leo said. The hit had been a success, he was sure his father would celebrate over that. His eyes widened slightly when he heard James was possibly killed, but he quickly relaxed his face. He didnt care for James or any Sullivan for that fact but he did think it was a little harsh to kill him during his wedding especially in front of Rayna. "But are you ok Leo?" Leo looked Nicolo in the eyes when he persisted to ask if he was okay. He quickly shook his head. "I just killed a woman in cold blood. Under the circumstances, I don't think I have a right to be okay. It was her fault my dad was killed, but it doesn't make anything feel easier or better. I'm not okay, but I stopped feeling okay quite some time ago. To protect your family and anyone else I care about, I have to stop pretending everything is okay," he answered. Whilst he expected Alex and Athena wouldn't be at all happy with him for this, he knew it was a sacrifice he had to make in order to grow strong enough to prevent them from ever being hurt again.
