Luca nodded at each of her dislike before grabbing the food menu and looking over it while staring at Kate. "It would seem that it was that way you got to know who I was." Before the five to six time he had talked with her, he hadn't met her and had been on high alert when she first came to talk to him. Back in the days when he liked to just drink and drink until he couldn't drink anymore, sometimes over drinking and being helped by Kate so that his drunkness would go away. "I hated and still hate hospital, but going to your clinic helped more than it cured me." He whispered mostly because it was true. He had been an anti social hard working Sullivan member who worked non stop until he met and spoke with Kate, with yesterday being the longest time he had ever spoken to her. Eventually he ordered some fish soup when the waiter came back, before looking at Kate. "Since I invited the lovely Kate, this would be my treat." He said while smiling at her. "Maybe I could get a date with the lovely Kate looking all beautiful and sexy next time I invite."

Alex shrugged "I'm not a plan girl" She said simply as she smiled at her dad, she watched him squirm and knew he had a problem with her plans. Instead of getting annoyed like she usually does, Alex suppressed her anger and instead agreed with her dad, which would be just as surprising for her as it was for him. "Monte wouldn't go anywhere with me, and I havn't see Gio all day, but yes I will let you know where we decide to go" She said sweetly.
Alex already planned to tell her Father one place and to go to another, however she obviously couldn't make that known. She looked back when the door opened and nodded a hello and Angel before her father and Angel went off to another room.
Alex walked to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of whiskey before going back to the couch, she wanted to know what they were talking about and what Angel had however she knew if she got caught standing outside the door again, she'd be in big trouble so she decided against it and remained on the couch, trying to come up with a plan for tonight.

"I mean it's a Sunday, a day meant for worshipping," Alena told him. She knew what she was getting herself into and her mother always told her that a lady should never drink, it's just not right. Besides that, Alena has never gotten drunk in her lifetime and she's heard all the rumors on how lightweights like her get drunk easily and Alena doesn't like the idea of giving in that easily. She wanted to toughen out through the drinking. Alena took a seat across from him, but she wishes that she would have sat next to him since she'll have to stare at him for the time being. The place was calm, but it was nice, she didn't like it so much when it was crowded. The waiter gave Alena a menu and Leo one as well, and then she left. Alena ordered a strawberry milkshake with extra whip cream, french fries without salt, and a double cheeseburger supreme. Damn, can she eat. Alena bit her lips, one of her many common habits to do, and then she looked up at the menu before the waiter came back to take it from her. "Was that too much?" Alena blushed. Alena was not just a salad eating girl, she could pack.

Alena waited for Leo to give the lady his order before she left to tell the chef. "Okay, so my father, had his 'goons' take someone's life. Long story short, Sinead ends up with a dead body in her dressing room." Alena said sighing before tapping a finger on the table. "I could only imagine the look on that poor girl's faces, I don't know the real reason behind it, but knowing my father he probably did it to get back at Emmet Sullivan," Alena added. After a long minute of waiting, her food and Leo's food arrives and Alena blesses her food before she digs in. She took a bite of the burger and all the delicious juices from the burger went running down her chin. She cleaned her chin up when she placed her burger back on the plate to take a pinch of the fries, a soft but hearable moan slipped out of her mouth. Alena covered her mouth with her hands and blushed, "Sorry. I haven't had a burger like this since I was six years old." She added when she was done chewing and wiping her lips.

"I'm glad I was able to help you, Luca. The hospital would certainly ask too many questions," she confirmed. "Do you know I can also get you fitted out with suits and such. I work a few days a week in a tailors shop too. I like to see you men looking smart," she joked. When asked for her ordered, she requested spaghetti bolognese. "Thank you, kindly," she said, when Luca said it was his treat. When he suggested a date, she tilted her head and pretended to be offended. "Are you saying I don't look beautiful and sexy now?!" she asked. "Well, perhaps I will look better this evening. I'll be having some drinks in the Emerald again," she told him. She liked to share venues between Sullivans, Romanos and neutrals. At the moment, she was finding Vinnie a little too intense so was avoiding him slightly until he calmed things down a little.

Leo Davide

"Well, guess what, Lena? I visit a Catholic church, so if drinking on a Sunday is a sin I can just go on in there and ask for forgiveness," he cheekily replied. "You know you want to go out drinking too," he encouraged her. Taking inspiration from Alena, Leo also ordered the double cheesburger and went for a chocolate milkshake. "Too much? If you can eat it then it's not too much. Life's too short to be crunching on lettuce leaves," he remarked. It was true. He had no time for girls who were obsessed with what they ate.

As Alena began explaining what Vinnie had done, Leo sadly shook his head. "Oh, that was uncalled for, wasn't it it?" he reflected. "That Sinead is a fragile little thing - she probably only orders salad," he joked. "But really, that was a low move. He shouldn't be getting at innocent people like that. I'd hate to imagine you or Alex being harmed by the Sullivans. It's not right," he seriously told her. Obviously, he'd never say such things in front of Vinnie as he valued his own health and job.

When Alena began enthusiastically eating her food, Leo could help but grin. "I think you're enjoying that burger a little too much, but there's no need to apologise," he said, laughing. "You're so funny, Lena."

Later that evening...

It was a clear and dry evening, unlike the previous one. Considering it was a Sunday, the social venues were relatively busy. There was a tension in the air for anyone who was aware of the escalating troubles between Chicago's gangs.

The Emerald Pub

After their lunch together, Kate had reminded Luca that she would be going to the Emerald that evening. After showing the new James to his new place of residence, Luca would have also suggested James tries the Irish pub out.

As with most evenings, Conor was starting his night in the Emerald, having a few drinks from his own premises before moving on elsewhere and parting with his cash. Besides that, his barmaid wasn't due to start her shift just yet. He kept his eyes fixed to the windows of the pub so he could see onto the street, looking out for Alex.

Vinnie had told Monte to oversee the retaliation against Conor, but keep a safe distance where nobody would see him. He would then expect his eldest son to report back to him as soon as the job was done.

The Whistler Jazz Club

sinead.png Sinead hadn't been home long after going shopping with Conor before she had her brother take her to the club. She'd decided to go there early to make sure she was going to be comfortable singing close to what had very recently been a bloodied crime scene. She also wanted to have a few drinks to relax herself before the club got busy.

As per Sinead's firm invites, James Porter had driven Emmet, Shannon and Lucy to the club to watch the redhead sing. The family members had been reserved the best table near to the stage. James didn't join them, instead splitting his time between watching from the main entrance and returning to his car to keep an eye on things outside. He would be around the club until the Sullivans needed a ride home.

When Sinead first stood on stage, she felt more nervous than she had before. Last night's murder aside, this was the first time her parents had been to see her perform on stage. By the end of the first song, she'd relaxed and was singing as perfectly as she usually did. She felt happy that she'd finally let her parents watch her.

Aces Casino
Once she had done her part in overseeing the jobs that were planned against the Sullivans that evening, Fortuna would be picked up by one of the Romano men and taking to the casino. Once she entered, she would be pointed in the direction of the private booth which Vinnie was presently occupying at the far end of the casino. He was watching the goings on from a distance, waiting for someone who he and Fortuna needed to have private words with this evening.

The Fox's Den

After persuading them enough, Leo had talked Giorgio and Alena into going out to the Fox's Den. He expected Lloyd and Danel would be there too, and perhaps Monte would join them when he was done with whatever Vinnie had asked of him this time. On the provision Giorgio was there too, Vinnie had relented and permitted Alena to go out with strict instructions for her not to get drunk. Leo liked to think it was actually his own sweet charm that made him so trustworthy in Vinnie's eyes and this allowed Alena to go out. Leo was looking forward to catching up with his friends and spending more time with Alena.

When Alena never came home, Alex eventually made her way up to her room. She changed into a pair of jeans and a nice black and white top with a low v neck cut. Alex looked in the mirror at her reflection as she admired the way her hair fell in waves, her hair was her favorite feature. Alex was never a girly-girl and had a complete different fashion sense to her sister Alena. She found that her own clothes were more practical and usually wore clothes that she could easily climb in or run in, with her family being able to run was necessary. Alex sat on the bed as she pulled on her black boots, they were slightly worn out but were her favorite shoes and she practically lived in them. Once she was dressed and ready she tiptoed her way to the door and opened it slightly sticking her head out as she listened for sounds. She couldn't hear any movement and after a moment she closed it and locked the door. She grabbed her bag and made her way over to the window, opening it quietly and climbing out. She sat on the window still and looked down into her back garden, she couldn't see anyone sticking around so she turned and closed the window before climbing down the ivy ladder attached to the wall just under her window. Alex couldn't help but laugh to herself, her father had threatened numerous times to take down the ladder and just never did, she was thankful for this empty promise.
Once down Alex made her way to the back of the garden and hopped the fence at the back so not to get caught by security hanging around the front of the house. Once in the clear Alex made her way towards the town. She decided to go past the Emerald on her way to see if Conor was working, she obviously wasn't going to walk in to him but knew that if he was in there, he'd be looking out for her. Or at least she hoped he would be.
Alex took a cigarette out of her bag and placed it to her lips, lighting it as she approached the Emerald, she could hear the music and chatter from the street before. It was now that Alex went on high alert, walking slow as she approached the door, she was aware of everything checking the shadows and side streets incase she saw someone she knew. Alex walked straight past the door of the Emerald and stopped slightly at the first window as she looked in spotting Conor straight away, she sent a smile to Conor as she caught his eye before moving slowly down the street, stopping a few buildings down to wait and a see if he would come out.

Angel had fitted on the new blazer, clearly satisfied as he adjusted the cufflinks. "Good evening," Angel announced into the household." Angel nodded to Vinnie when he was told to follow him. He raised his hand as a sign of "hello" as he passed Alex. "Pressed and ironed." Angel said as he handed Vinnie the box. He then stood back, keeping his hands on his hips, as he watched Vinnie open the box. His eyes slightly widened at the wads of cash, a grin peeling across his face. Angel bounced the wad of cash up and down in his hand, weighing it. "Grazie, Vinnie." He rested his hand on Vinnie's back before moving the wad into his new blazer.

Angel crossed his arms, keeping his hand on his bottom lip. "How serious do you want this to be? Cause I could have a guy come in with a tommy and light the whole table up. Sinead, of course, would be safe. I'd make sure of it. Even if there are survivors, the Sullivans will know we're done fuckin' around - pardon my language. Are we ready to go that drastic?"

Angel sat in the crowded seats, resting on a comfortable table with a drink in hand. He smiled as he watched Sinead perform, but also kept his eye on the family table. He'd periodically check his watch, feeling the temperature in the club raise by the minute. He'd keep his hand on the cold barrel of his revolver in his shoulder holster to ease himself. Angel recalled his exact words as he sipped the drink, "Distribute the gunfire to make it look like a robbery, but target the Sullivans. Keep the gunfire outside and for the love of god, do not shoot Sinead!". He kept his nervousness hidden as he leaned back and enjoyed the performance. He made sure Sinead would make eye contact with him once. When she did, he raised his glass.

Fortuna, clad in a long, form-fitting black halter dress, casually stepped into the carpeted grounds of the casino that successfully muffled the sound of her clicking heels. Accompanied by one of the Romano Family's many subordinates, the hitwoman was then directed to one of the private booths at the far end of the establishment, which she could clearly see was being occupied by an ever-so-familiar silhouette. With a smile spread across her lips, she dismissed the subordinate with a simple wave of her hand, before going on to approach the figure of her boss.

When Angel suggested sending a guy in with a tommy gun, he might have been surprised to see Vinnie smile and nod his head in confirmation. It seemed that was exactly what his boss had in mind. The only correction he did make was that it was to take place outside and away from Sinead. Vinnie had already broken an unsaid agreement by carrying out Romano business inside the neutral jazz bar once. He didn't want to risk breaking the owners trust, and silence, further.

Whilst she was singing, Sinead scanned those seated in the club, smiling at her parents and Lucy before continuing to see who else was watching her. She eventually set eyes on Angel. Despite him seeming pretty sincere earlier in the day, she was still surprised to see he had actually turned up to watch her sing. When he made eye-contact with her and raised his glass, she couldn't help but flash a smile specifically for him. She was very curious about Angel and couldn't help but wonder if there was a way she could ask Conor about him without her brother growing suspicious. She hoped this wasn't some Romano plan to get at her again, but she would hope her family being present would be enough to put anyone off trying anything of the sort tonight.

When Fortuna approached him, Vinnie got out of his seat and took her hand to place a kiss on the back of it. "Looking as glamorous as ever, Fortuna. I'm glad you made it," he told her, motioning for her to st at the table with him. "I've asked to be alerted when Arnold arrives." Arnold was an associate of theirs who they had recently discovered had intercepted and stolen a case of money that was intended for Vinnie. They were going to find out where the money was or Arnold was going to leave the casino on a stretcher. In the meantime, Vinnie and Fortuna had chance to talk. "When tomorrow's meeting is done with, we need to plan how we're going to get rid of Sergeant Hunter. I've received the deposit, so we need to seriously think about how we're going to do this." Sergeant Hunter had been causing many problems for his crooked colleagues in the CPD and they wanted rid of him.

Conor Sullivan

thor1.jpg The barman, Harry, shook his head he watched Conor win yet another arm wrestle against one of their regulars. The night was young and the men were still pretty sober, but still loud and rowdy. "Niall, you're a fucking sad act if you think you can ever beat me." After another victory, Conor took his pint and was about to have a drink when he glanced to the window again to see Alex outside the pub. He looked back to his beer before downing the whole thing in one go. "I need some air. Cassie will be in to help you shortly," he assured Harry.

Once outside, Conor looked down the street to see Alex a few building away. "You're lost, madam!" he called to her before motioning for her to come back and follow him down the side of the Emerald. Standing on the second step of the metal stairs on the outside of the pub, he casually waited for her. "You look so damn hot," he said, looking down to her. "I'm not ready to go out just yet, Alex. I have some drinks upstairs to warm us up and then I want to take you out to a club. What do you say?" he asked. The small studio apartment above the pub was another place he called a home. Not as homely as the Sullivan's place, but it was good enough for when he worked late or was too drunk to go anywhere else.

Angel tapped his finger against the glass, anticipating the gunshots at any second. The first couple of rounds sounded like putts, as if someone were lighting firecrackers off in the street. It was when the sound of glass shattering erupted from the street, it sent the club into a frenzy. Angel remained calm, sipping his drink, as the people around him screamed. He heard the front door burst open to the club, expecting it to be some civilians looking for harbor. His heart stopped and his eyes widened when he saw Jimmy, standing in the front lobby with his hands gripping a tommy gun. Smoke tumbled out of the barrel, a look of vengeance in his eyes. The execution of Jimmy's brother hadn't slipped Angel's mind, but he didn't think it would cause him to break off command. On his personal quest for vengeance, he aimed from the hip at the Sullivan table. The rounds spewed out like hot lava, sending steaming shells onto the carpet. The gunfire sent splinters of wood and glass across the room.

Without hesitation, Angel shot up from his seat towards the stage. Just in time too, because Jimmy's spray turned towards the band. As he panned across, the band members seemingly dropped like flies. Angel was mentally prepared to do whatever it took to keep Sinead alive, so he didn't hesitate to jump infront of the gunfire directed towards her. Maybe it was because Vinnie gave him clear instructions to keep her safe or maybe it was something more. As he tackled her to the floor of the stage, he felt a burning sensation in his upper shoulder blade. He collapsed on top of Sinead, yelping in pain. Keeping her down with his elbow, he brandished the revolver - ripping it from his shoulder holster. He aimed down to Jimmy, who was too busy turning the club into confetti to see Angel. The gunpowder excelled the bullet from the barrel, not only striking Jimmy in the throat, but tearing through it like a rock through wet tissue paper. Jimmy dropped his submachine gun to clench his throat. Without a second's notice, Angel discharged another round. Fitting perfectly between Jimmy's eyes, the bullet shot out and found a comfy home within the brick wall. Jimmy collapsed onto to the table, sending dinner plates and glass across the smokey room. Angel quickly jumped to his feet, despite his bleeding shoulder. He grabbed Sinead by her arm, pulling her along as he emptied shot after shot into the entrance of the door. He wasn't sure who else decided to disobey orders and attack the club, but he wasn't about to take any risks. With the sound of the empty click, he pulled her into the hallway behind the stage. "Find a safe place to hide! Don't come out for nobody," Angel said, gripping his bleeding shoulder.

He moved towards the exit of the door, bursting into Chicago. Although the air was fresher, it seemed just as chaotic outside as it was in the Whistler Jazz Club. He didn't let the gunshots stop his momentum as he bolted for his car.

Alex kept an eye on the streets around her but turned her head quickly when she heard someone say she was lost. Her breath caught in her throat, but once she saw it was Conor, she was able to breathe again a smile taking over her expression. She took another drag of her cigarette letting the smoke out as she turned and walked towards him. She dropped the cigarette on her way and made sure to stand on it to put it out. As Alex turned around the corner of the Emerald her eyes shot to the distance of the alley before she focused on Conor and saw him standing on stairs.
A blush splayed across her face at his comment and she looked down for a second before looking back up at him "I could say the same about you Conor" She said as she sent him a wink, biting her lip as she listened to his plans for the night. Her eyes shot up to the door at the top of the stairs as a smile took over her lips. "That sounds Perfect, right up my street" She commented before following him up the metal stairs, As she climbed the stairs she couldn't help but look back, she had a bad feeling about tonight that she just couldn't shake but she pushed it to the back of her mind when she saw nothing to be worried by. She was going to enjoy tonight, she was with a hot guy, sure he's the enemy but he seems to like her and she liked him. Alex looked around the room they entered, the edginess she felt outside faded once the door was closed behind her. "Do you live here?" She asked.

Luca had been looking for a new type of vehicle to buy when he remembered that Kate told him that she was gonna be at the Emerald Irish Pub. She was an interesting woman to talk to and she was helpful when she needed to be. Sure he had been talking with her for the last two days and the more he talked with her, the more he found her to be a beautiful woman to speak week and someone that he can be himself. It really wasn't everyday that he found someone that he might trust, heck the last few that he found that he could trust, well they where six feet underground.

Luca sighed before he got on the car, in order to drive to the Emerald Irish Pub. It was time for him to go get a drink and maybe see how the day goes. Once he arrived, he parked his car, got out and started to smoke a cigar. He could had gone inside right away but he wanted to smoke his cigar. He was thinking about going to the casino, somewhere he hasn't gone in a while, and try his luck.

Carrick shook the bed hair out of his face as he just got up from going as small nap. He decided to go take a shower and finally getting dressed in order to go help Conor out in the pub. It felt as if it was a long time since he last went to help Donor out and today was the day he was gonna go there. "I'm hungry, I wonder what's there to eat?" He said to himself before stopping himself from opening the door in order to go outside. He should go outside, but at the same time he didn't want to see anyone of his family members. His mom was someone whom he could talk to but his father, that man was someone who had actually brought their family down, making everyone outside the family who knew him, to think that he was a gangster when in reality all he wanted to be was a doctor in order to help the few people that he could. Yesterday he had heard Sinead voice while he had been on his room and had decided not to come out, mostly because he loathed her. She had the audacity of coming back after so long of being gone when she had left it so that their problem wouldn't ruin her music. He had to scold whenever he though of what she did but at the same time he couldn't fault her, he had wanted to do the same thing but being the youngest of Sullivan's sibling, well it was completely impossible.

Once he had completely been ready and fully clothed. He went downstairs and hoped to not see Sinead or his dad. He had to smile when he saw no one there before he went to the kitchen to see what they had so that he could cook something for himself. He had to think what he wanted to cook before he decided on crispy roasted cabbages and smashed potatoes,a healthy food that he cooked every once in a while.

Alena was brought home right after her lunch 'date' with Leo. It was nice, she enjoyed it. It was a date at all, but she decided to perceive it like that. Alena made her way towards the stairs where she went upstairs to her room and showered. When she was done, she remembered that Leo had invited her out to drink with the boys. Alena was nervous, she has never been invited to drink and her mother told her that drinking was bad. Alena looked through her closet and found a white shoulder-off dress(like the dress on the bottom) and she paired it with some white heels, as her hair was put into a bun(like the picture above). Alena put on some perfume and she took a small clutch purse with her that had her lipstick, money, and other things. Alena went downstairs and asked one of her father's goons to drive her to the Fox's Den.

"Does your father know where you're going?" One of the men said as she went over to the room. She opened the door, "My father knows," Alena said to him knowing that her father and Leo did talk about her going out. Her father also told her not to go out but she wants to see where the night will take her. Alena knew the risk of going out, but she wanted to have some fun. Alena went over to the Fox's Den when he dropped her off. She walked around and went towards a table near the back where she took a booth seat, Alena loved the booths, it was very nice, and comfortable and very private. She told the waiter that when the rest of the boys get here to guide them here.

"Of course, sir." Fortuna hummed in understanding upon hearing Vinnie's words, having taken a seat at his right side. Of course, the first thing that came to mind in making Arnold talk was with a gun barrel aimed precariously at his family jewels, though a knife would be just as effective. Fortunately, while she didn't have a gun with her at the moment, something she would have preferred using, she did have a rather nice blade sheathed away in the comforts of her handbag. A sadistic smirk tugged at her lips, though she successfully managed to keep it under wraps with a calm, tranquil facade.

Sinead Sullivan

sinead.png As the sound of gunshots and screaming began erupting throughout the club, Sinead stood frozen on the spot, her hand gripping the microphone stand tightly as she looked towards her family. She was knocked out of her shock as her band members began ducking for cover and before she could react, she found herself being tackled down onto the floor. "NO!" she screamed, terrified as everything was happening so quickly. When she opened her eyes again she looked to see Angel was the one who had collapsed on top of her. As he began firing shots at Jimmy, Sinead noticed Angel had been hit in the shoulder. Romano or not, it seemed like he'd saved her from being shot - even taking a bullet himself. When he focused his attention back to her and dragged her behind the stage, she didn't put up any resistance and instead tried to calm her breathing as she daintily tiptoed in her heels.

When Angel told her to find a safe place to hide, she quickly shook her head as it appeared he wasn't going to hide too. "But... Giovanni, you're bleeding!" she said, looking to the large wet patch of blood on his new blazer. Regardless, Angel rushed out of the building. For a brief moment, Sinead was going to follow him and escape the chaos, but she couldn't leave when her family were still in the building. She stayed where she was, hiding and trying to calm herself down. She tried to play back what she'd seen in those jumbled seconds, wondering if her parents and Lucy managed to take cover in time. She wanted everyone to stop screaming and shouting so she could hear whether it was safe to go back out there to check on her loved ones...

"Follow me, then," Conor excitedly told Alex as be began ascending the stairs. He unlocked the door from the outside and opened it for her to enter. He usually accessed the studio from inside the pub, but he knew it would be best not to lead Alex through there when he knew Sullivan gang members were drinking in there tonight. They likely wouldn't start anything with Alex and would have to get through Conor first, but word would soon get back to Emmet about Alex's presence. Conor closed the door and bolted it from the inside, wanting to be cautious with the lady present. Alex would see the studio was simple but nicely decorated. On the kitchen counter, there was a large selection of bottled spirits lined up, obviously taken from the bar but it was Conor's pub, afterall. "What would you like to drink? The choice is yours," he offered her, taking out two glasses. When she asked him if he lived there, he both shrugged and nodded his head. "I guess you could say that. It's my place and I sometimes sleep here, but my home is where my family lives," he told her. It was clear he cared for his family and genuinely enjoyed being around them. "This place is good for when I need it, though. It's certainly good for when I want to get to know a beautiful lady," he added, looking Alex in the eyes. He could hardly take Alex to his family's home and have her meet the parents, so this place served him well. "How about you? What's it like living in the Romano house?" he curiously asked her.

Angel moved for the boot of his car. Sending the trunk open, he pulled the body of a CZ 247 submachine gun out from the mat. Sliding the magazine into place, he started moving towards the front of the Whistler Jazz Club. As he moved, he smacked the slide into place, loading a round into the chamber. The gun fight was pretty much over, the Romano goons heading over to their cluster of cars. They were still exchanging gun fire with a guard who was blocking their root to their vehicles. Luckily, Angel was walking up right behind him. Angel didn't bother to muffle his footsteps as he walked at the same shuffling pace. The guard loosely looked over his shoulder to Angel, who was aiming at him from the hip. Five gunshots was enough to put the poor guy to bed, letting him slump down the wall with only a blood trail on the bricks left behind.

"Alright! Come on out, boys!" Angel called to his men hiding behind a row of cars. They walked towards Angel, who was patiently waiting in the middle of the road. As they circled around him, Angel let his gun sling by his leg. "Which one of you was watching the west wing with Jimmy?" Digger Doug stepped into the circle, holding a tommy gun to his chest. "I was. Jimmy told me to cover him while he ran into the cl-," The stock of Angel's submachine gun connected with the jaw of Doug, snapping his neck out to the right. He instantly collapsed on his back, his hat launching off of his head. "Do you know how to follow orders, motha' fucka'? Because of you, bozo, I got a bullet in my fuckin' shoulder!" Everyone around them was at a loss of words, not daring to intervene. "I... I," Doug stammered, blood running down his jaw. "Shut up," Angel barked, turning his gun around. "Come on, get on ya' feet." Angel's demeanor seemed to suddenly change as he offered Doug the stock of his gun to help him onto his feet. Just as Doug was a bout to step off his heels, Angel shoved the stock back into his head. Angel could feel Doug's nose crunch under the wooden butt of the gun, the sheer force enough to send him back on the ground. "Stay the fuck down!" Angel aimed down to Doug's sternum, causing Doug to frantically raise his hands by his head. "I oughta' pump your guts full of lead right now and let the crows pick the skin off ya' bones in the morning! You're walking home!" Angel lowered his aim, looking to the men around him. "Let's get outta' here." Angel spat, moving to the cluster of cars.

They peeled out relatively quickly, speeding off in an elaborate trail to throw off any followers. Their destination was the Romano household. Doug, however, was left to wander the streets; his nose hanging on by a thread.

Alex looked around the room, her eyes lighting up in amusement when she saw all the bottles lined up "Owning a pub certainly has its perks" she commented as she walked closer to them to see what all he had."I think ill choose vodka please, getting a bit tired of whiskey". Alex tended to drink a lot and whiskey had always been her choice of drink but it just didn't have the same enjoyable quality to it that Alex once loved about it, the burn was gone so she had to give it a break.
Alex listened to him as she leaned with her back against the counter, she looked him in the eye as he talked about him home, she could tell that he had a great relationship with his family, you could see it in the way he talked about them, he got a twinkle in his eye. She was slightly jealous of that but she wasn't going to make that know. "Yeah this is a handy place to have" She commented with a smile, while she took the straight vodka from him with a smile "Thank you, kind sir" She said with a laugh.
When he asked her what her home was like, she took a sip of her drink trying to figure out how to phrase it "Well it's interesting, for lack of a better word. There's usually fights with either me and dad or Alena and dad so it can be quite tense but other than it's homely I suppose like we all live there so there's always someone around to annoy" She shrugged. "I don't really know how to explain it, but it's easy to sneak out off". She took another drink before smiling "Whats the Sullivan household like?"

Vinnie was pleased Fortuna was with him to interrogate Arnold - she had a certain way of making people talk and he enjoyed watching his right-hand woman in action. She hadn't kept the family business going during the war by fluttering her eyelashes and looking pretty, though he was sure her beauty only assisted her. A short distance away, one of the waiters gave Vinnie a nod to let him know Arnold had turned up at the casino. Vinnie leaned forward to speak to Fortuna. "Down the corridor to your right," he said, motioning in the right direction, "room number two has been reserved for us. Go there now and I shall join you shortly, along with Arnold," he told her.

Vinnie got up and walked over to Arnold, shaking the man's hand and giving him a pleasant smile. There was the slightest hint of discomfort in the man and Vinnie picked up on it straight away. He placed his arm around the man's shoulder and began leading him towards the private room. When they entered the room, Vinnie motioned for Arnold to sit at the round table where Fortuna was already waiting. He quietly locked the door from the inside before joining them at the table. "Drink?" he asked, pointing to the whiskey and glasses that had been set out in the centre of the table.

"No, I'm good, thank you. Is there a problem, Vinnie?" Arnold asked.

"Relax, Arnold. As far as I know, there isn't a problem. Is there a problem?" he fired the man's question back at him. "I just wanted to discuss more business with you." Arnold placed the wallet he'd been holding down on the table and decided to pour himself a drink after all. Meanwhile, Vinnie took the man's wallet and began opening it. "May I?" he asked, even though it was clear he was going to check the wallet with or without permission. Vinnie removed some of the bills and looked at the serial numbers and features on the highest value notes. By now certain Arnold had indeed stolen the money from him, Vinnie nodded to Fortuna. "Fortuna, dear. Would you care to ask Arnold if we have a problem?"

Conor poured them both some vodka and handed Alex's glass to her as she spoke to him. He pointed towards the sofa and would sit down next to her, drinking some alcohol before placing his glass down on the coffee table in front of them. As she spoke about her and her sister fighting with their father, he sent her a warm smile. "That doesn't surprise me about Vinnie. But your brothers are okay? I know Giorgio was giving some shitty warning last night, but he seems alright. He was concerned about you mixing with dangerous men like me," he said, winking. It was true that the only one of Vinnie's kids Conor had a real problem with was Monte and he wouldn't think twice about beating the crap out of that guy.

Alex then asked what the Sullivan household was like and he sat back, placing his feet up on the corner of the coffee table. "The Sullivan household has always been close but crazy. We're not without our problems either. My brother, Kean, is weird with dad and Sinead, and my mum can also be a little awkward around my younger sister. I think Sinead and Kean just want a normal family, without any of this fighting and crime. My parents want Lucy to stay out of the business, which also doesn't go down too well. And me? Well, I just learned to accept and support what each member of my family wants, so I don't have any problems with them. It helps that I'm just so damn charismatic," he joked. He turned to Alex and looked at her pretty face as he faintly smiled. "I wish you could know them," he seriously told her. He wasn't sure what Alex was doing to him, but this affection for her was all happening too fast for him to even process.

Alex followed him to the couch and sat down, pulling her legs up under her and turned so she was facing him. "Ah yeah me and Gio would be quite close, he feels the same way I do, doesn't want any hand in the family business" She sighed "But he does his part out of loyalty to my dad" She took another drink of her vodka, holding it between her hands instead of putting it down on the table. "And Monte, well he doesn't seem to have any emotions like its unclear if he actually likes any of us but honestly, I'm not being big headed here, but I genuinely think I'm his closest and favorite sibling like he'll mess back with me at time and all and smile at me" She stopped for a second to let him process all the information she just gave him as she took another sip of her nearly empty glass before putting it on the table "I know that doesn't really mean anything to any other family, but a smile or a laugh from Monte means the world, it means he notices you as a person or as someone he likes" She explained.
Alex listened to his explanation of his family and smiled, an almost relieved smile "It sounds nearly as crazy as mine" She commented "Must be the mafia or gang family way, whatever they call it" She shrugged, It was very obvious that Alex had no interest in the family business or the Mafia way of life.
She looked at Conor with a serious expression taking over her features "Do you ever wish that we had normal families, that we weren't connected to crime or having to worry that some day we'll be attacked and killed or worse taken" She asked him.The fact that Alex said taken was the worst possible outcome meant that she knew how torture methods were used, she was wize and informed in the sense of the Mafia style and she hated and feared it. Being taken, especially after Alena, was one of Alez's biggest fears. Sitting here with the enemies son should have set off anxiety in Alex but she felt calm, relaxed and safe. She didn't know if she was being naiive or not but she genuinely felt almost at home with Conor, which freaked her out as she was falling too fast. She honestly didn't know what was worse at this stage, being used as a pawn in the feud by Conor or being heartbroken if he turned out to be faking all this affection.
Alex smiled an almost sad smile as she listened to his last comment "I wish we were in a position to bring each other home to our families" She finished off her glass of vodka and poured herself a new one before laughing slightly "We're a modern day Romeo and Juliet"

Fortuna nodded in acknowledgement upon hearing Vinnie's words. Slowly, but surely, a smile gradually crept up to her lips, one that would have been akin to a child seeing the light of the sun for the first time. It was a smile that was pure in a way one wouldn't be able to properly describe, if it wasn't for the particularly cruel and sadistic gleam that shone through the hitwoman's sharp black eyes.

"Hello, darling." Fortuna greeted the poor man in front of her, humming in absolute delight. Soon after she said this, she carefully placed a sleek, black handbag onto the round table, zipping it open and proceeding to rummage through it's contents. A moment or two passed before she gingerly unsheathed a dangerous looking dagger that she had taken out from her bag. She brandished the knife several times, as though admiring the beauty of the blade as it reflected the artificial light. "Now then," The hitwoman began, casually pointing the knife towards Arnold as she smiled sweetly. "Is there something you'd like to... tell me?"

Lucy was delighted to go with her parents to see her baby sister perform at the club. Sitting down at the table with her parents, she looked towards the stage and smiled to herself as she adjusted her dress. Her mother and father were conversing casually and she just took a moment to gather her thoughts and enjoy the scenery around her. Her blue eyes scanned the club and could see James in the back corner. Her eyes met his for a second, to which she offered him a tiny smile in appreciation before turning back to watch her sister. She always had such an amazing voice, something Lucy was always somewhat jealous of. But she was proud of her sister for having a life beyond the family and making a name for herself. Tonight was starting off wonderfully.

Within seconds, everything turned to hell.

Lucy gasped from her table and tried to take cover as best as she could. But a pain that she had never experienced before hit her in the upper thigh. Crying out, she moved to take cover under the table. "Shit shit shit shit!" She gasped out. Tears formed in her eyes, and a slur of curse words fell from her red lips.

The Emerald
Kate Henderson

Kate handed over some cash to the driver before she climbed out of the back of the cab. She's already spent a little time with a friend in a fancy restaurant and wine bar, so decided to finish the night off somewhere less stuffy. As she neared the pub she saw a familiar face stood outside having a smoke. "Luca, fancy seeing you here," she remarked with a twisted smile. "Come join me at the bar when you've finished with that," she suggested. She then entered the pub and went straight to Harry to order some more wine. Assuming Luca joined her, she would turn to him and ask him how the rest of his day went.

As they were inside, the sudden sound of gunfire and smashing glass was heard. From across the street, three masked men stood shooting at the pub windows. The men were shielded by the vehicles parked up in front of them. Nobody in the pub wold be hit, but it would still be uncertain if the intention was to kill anyone inside the pub. It would certainly be risky to attempt stepping out of the front door right now. The intention at the jazz club had been to get revenge for Maite's injury, but Vinnie had other intentions for the Emerald and its owner.

"I suppose I do wish we had normal family, free of crime and safety worries," he told her, his face now serious. "But, this is where we are and we can't change it. Our fathers wouldn't back down even if they could. Our families are too far involved to ever be able to turn back. I will always support my father and I've done enough now to start worrying about my conscience," he admitted. When she made her comment about Romeo and Juliet, Conor chuckled at her. "You might be right here. And... I'm pretty sure Romeo and Juliet kissed a lot..." he said and began leaning a little closer to kiss her on the lips.

Before their lips had chance to meet, Conor heard the nearby gunshots and practically jumped up from the sofa, rushing over to the window. "Fuck!" he hissed. He marched over to his bed and retrieved a rifle from underneath, along with a Colt pistol. The best weapons he had were hidden downstairs. Rushing back to the window he looked out again and realised he wasn't going to be able to get the men from where he was, not being too great at shooting long range. Conor was better at attacking people from close up, so that's exactly what he was going to do. "Alex..." he began, tossing the rifle aside but keeping the pistol in his hand. "I need you to stay here and keep the doors locked. They won't get this far, but if they do, make sure they know who you are. These are your father's men, I am sure of that."

Conor left out of the door they had entered in and rushed down the metal stairs. Just as he reached the bottom step, he felt a hand grip his ankle and cause him to fall forward down onto the ground, dropping the gun a short distance away. He got onto his hands and knees, trying to grab the gun. Before he could get it, he felt the force of a heavy boot collide with his ribs and knock him over onto his back. Looking up, he saw a man even bigger than himself standing over him. Conor knew this one would take some beating. The man stood still, inviting Conor to get up and fight. Not one to take anything lying down, Conor was more than willing to oblige and got up to his feet before slamming his fist into the side of the man's jaw. "Did Vinnie pick you up at the circus?" he remarked before taking a punch to the gut.

((OOC: To be continued. Will give Luca chance to decide what to do about the gunfire at the front of the pub. For now, nobody else (other than potentially Alex) will be aware of the brawl taking place down the alleyway.))

The Whistler
Shannon Sullivan

Untitled.png

Shannon had been enjoying the evening out with Emmet and Lucy. She always loved a chance to get dressed up and spend time with her family, even if she didn't always show it to her daughters. As she listened to Sinead sing, she couldn't help but smile. Whilst Shannon disliked the way her daughter had practically shunned them, she could see why. Sinead wanted a career in singing and didn't want her family's criminal activities hindering her. Still, she had always wished Sinead would learn how to toughen up - she would still need to be thick-skinned in the competitive career she dreamed of. Shannon snapped herself out of those thoughts to focus on the present. "I wish I'd been able to sit here sooner and watch Sinead perform," she softly told Emmet and Lucy, with a proud smile.

Then, the chaos began and Shannon's instinct at hearing the gunshots was to take cover. She attempted to shield Lucy, but everything happened so fast. From under the table, Shannon took a deep breath before hearing Lucy's pained swearing. She looked to Lucy's thigh to see the blood. "Oh, Lucy..." she began. She grabbed the end of the silk scarf she'd had draped over the back of her seat and pulled it. "Emmet! Kill those bastards!" she shouted, unsure of how many gunmen there were. She quickly rolled up the scarf and pressed it against Lucy's wound with one hand. She wrapped her free arm around her daughter's shoulder and held her close. "It's okay, sweetie. You're going to be fine," she softly reassured her and kissed her forehead. It wasn't often Shannon showed such a maternal side, but it was always there, closely guarded.

James Porter

James had been watching Sinead from near the entrance and keeping an eye on the Sullivans for some time. When he caught Lucy's eye, he returned a smile to her. She was beautiful and classy, probably too good for him. But that didn't stop him from appreciating her. He was about to return outside when he realised he should visit the gents bathroom first. It was when washing his hands after he'd made use of the facilities that he heard the gunshots from out in the main hall. "You're kidding me..." he muttered. He fumbled for his gun with his wet hands and dropped it on the floor. He wiped the excess water from his hands onto his trousers and retrieved his gun. As he approached the door, a crowd of people rushed inside to take cover. Concealing the gun, James fought his way through the confused men and rushed out. He returned to the source of the commotion just in time to see a bullet hit the gunman between the eyes. Good riddance. The gunfire seemed to stop and James looked straight towards the stage. He saw the familiar red hair belonging to Sinead as she quickly disappeared behind the stage and hopefully to safety. No longer hiding his weapon, James rushed over to the Sullivans' table where he could see Lucy was hurt. He could feel the anger building inside of him and more than ever he wanted to put a bullet in the skull of every Romano he knew of. "Are you going to be okay?" he asked Lucy. He then looked to Emmet. "What the Hell happened? All I did was leave for a minute to take a leak!"

Alex jumped at the sound of gun shots and turned to see Conor running around before leaving the room. Alex moved over to the window peaking out behind the curtain to see Conor fall and his gun move out of reach. Her heart stopped, They were going to kill him.
Yes she was loyal to her family and yes this was her fathers men but she couldn't let Conor die or at least fight without backup. But she also couldn't get caught helping Conor or her dad would most certainly find out and Alex was dead regardless.
Alex moved around the little apartment picking up a baseball cap and an oversized hoodie, she pulled the hood up over the hat so to hide her face. Once sure she was concealed she ran to her bag taking out a Pistol and a blade from a secret compartment she had made. She hid the blade in her boot and held the gun in her hand as she moved towards the door.
This was the one time that Alex was happy she had to carry around weapons.
Alex turned off all the lights before opening the door very slowly and quietly , she crouched down as she shut the door just as quietly behind her, she held her breathe for a second as she observed the scene, good no one had seen her and Conor was still alive. She looked down the Alley to see more men approaching the scene. Alex stood up a little higher to see one man pull a gun on Conor from behind as he approached the Alley. Without any thought Alex aimed the gun and pulled the trigger. Her aim was unfortunately a little off and hit the man in the shoulder rather than his head where she was aiming for. Alex dived to the floor as the clearly angry man began shooting up in her direction. She lay flat on the ground at the top of the steps and lifted her gun letting off two shots before the man was lying on his back covered in blood.

Kitty turned left and right, trying to see the back of her dress in her bathroom mirror, a green velvet ribbon hanging from between her lips. She quickly took the ribbon and tied up her hair with it before leaning back to call into the apartment's main room.

"My one and only love Sable Sherman, are you going out with me tonight? I might have more luck picking up some friends on the inside if a beautiful woman was with me," she cooed. Though her tone was teasing, her words were serious. She had already tried to go out by herself without much luck - or, at least, good luck - but the more cautious-minded Sable might be able to rein in her more impulsive decisions.

"I still can't believe I missed church," she added, quieter, "Maman would be disappointed, though I suppose Papa wouldn't really care." She chuckled. It was then that she heard gunfire across the street, where the Whistler Jazz Club was. Kitty ran to the window to look out at what was happening, peeking out through the blinds. While she couldn't tell exactly what was going on, she thought she saw a flash of a familiar face, sending sickening waves through her stomach.
