Futuristic The Mismatched Heroes of The Odyssey (Now Accepting)

"Of course." She growled.

She listened carefully, mostly hearing gunfire and something hitting metal. She had a good guess Captain Bryn charged into the fight and she didn't want her to face the pirates head on alone. She readied her gun and opened the door a tiny bit, enough to crawl under as it shut behind her. She ran silently, the reflectors in her cornflower eyes shimmering as she made her way through the dark.

Katya crouched using the metal parts of her body as a sheild, there were loud pings as metal hit metal and bounced off. Quietly she moved forwards since most attention was on Azul, unlike the ready of them her mechanical eye was equipped with night vision, one of the many perks of losing the original. She moved eerily close to the bars and then suddenly reached out gripping them. There was a weeze from the metal as she bent the bars outwards and stepped out the cage.

Marian could see in the dark, but not as well as she could see in daylight. Her ears twitched hearing the metal and her focus shot towards where the cage would be. She could make out a shape coming out of the cage and so she aimed her blaster and fired, the shot hitting a bar a few centi-meters from Katya. "Damnit." She hissed under her breath.

Azul was caught off guard by the figure running towards him, but he instinctively lunged forward towards the weapons scattered on the floor. Something hard clipped his leg and caused him to slide a bit but his hands still found a gun. He quickly whirled it around and fired it, rope shooting out of it with weights on each end that were sent flying towards the figure's legs. Azul spent no time seeing if it got her for e was already grabbing as many weapons as he could get. Small electric pulsars were stuffed in his pockets as well as daggers, and he found goggles.

"Perfect."

He yanked them on and hit the button on the side, rewarded with vision of the war zone around him. Kat was escaping as well and the others would hopefully follow. Azul's body ached but his mind was focused. He rolled from around the crate and then started racing towards the exit of the room.

@Miss Ditzy

As soon as Azul was clear Noma bolted. She tried to make the weapons crate but the sound of gunfire forced her away. Instead she ran for the rear of the area, dodging between the cargo. In the darkness, Noma's four minds searched her vision for anything that might give away her surroundings. Even with the help she git a few walls or crates. Hard things at the very least.

Noma took cover behind a crate and caught her breath. She had no weapons and the sound of combat boots was approaching. She looked around her, feeling the cargo, for something that might help. The occasional flicker of charged stun round flying at her comrades gave her glimpses as she moved through the cargo.

As a soldier approached, Noma stuck her hands out from the side of a crate. She walked out slowly, keeping her hands in a 'surrender' pose.

"GET ON THE FLOOR! NOW!" He yelled. He should have pulled the trigger or stepped back at the very least. Noma pursed her lips and blew. A liquid sprayed from her mouth and covered the mans face and torso. As Noma spun back into cover he fired, the electric round ignited the vapor in the air and the man went up like a torch. Noma screwed up her face as the fire kissed her fuel soaked lips, singing the flesh. She kicked the burning man in the chest and took his weapon then put a stun round in his chest and left him to burn.

Bryn turned around and was just able to see what was coming at her. Her reflexes weren't exactly fast enough to dodge the rope entirely, but she still managed to move aside fast enough for the weights to only hit against the side of her left leg. They bounced off as the weights connected with the metal, making a loud clang noise. It didn't hurt as much as it would have if the leg was natural, but the force was still strong enough to shake her and cause her to flinch. For once she felt a small feeling of relief that she lost that leg.

She quickly recovered and looked back up, only to see Azul making his escape.

"You're not getting away that easily!" She yelled as she fired a few shots at his legs.

She ran through the shadows, the occasional flicker of light makeing the reflectors in her eyes glow. She moved beside the captain, covering her if needed. She fired at the pirates, the minimal light helping her aim. She reluctantly ignored the cries of the guards for she wouldn't be any good helping them if the pirates were still at large. She mostly aimed surgically to not make any of her shots fatal but damaging all the same, her eyes locked on Captain Bryn from the shadows as she ran beside her through the shadows to the door.

The alarm sounded all throughout the ship and lights flashed in every room. The sound of people rushing down to the prison echoed throughout the hallways. All this and yet still in his workshop, slumped over on his desk fast asleep was a young lizard humanoid. He had become used to all the noises on board and his time with the large engine made him even more immune to loud noises. But there was always one he could count on to wait him up.

"Sir!" said a male voice with a British accent coming from the watch on Stig's wrist, "That's the alarm, you must get up now! The prisoners have escaped and there's a gun fight in the cargo hold!" It was ISAAC, Stig's AI "assistant".

Stig jerked awake at this and jumped out of his chair. "The alarm? Oh no! I need to get down there!"

He ran around his quarters and grabbed his goggles and wrench. He hastily rummaged all over room before he realized that he couldn't find his blaster. "Come on...Where is it...." He muttered to himself while digging through a tool drawer.

"Bottom drawer, sir?" ISAAC said as if this had happened before. (Which it had)

Stig checked as suggested and as fate would have it there was his missing blaster. An audible sigh could be heard from ISAAC. Stig ignored it and grabbed the blaster before running out the room.

Stig put on his specially modified goggles as he rushed down the hallway.

"ISAAC, stay linked to all the security cameras just in case." he said.

"Of course, sir." ISAAC responded and with that the images from all the main security cameras throughout the ship could be seen on the lenses of Stig's goggles. Stig had ISAAC linked to the ship's systems as well his goggles and watch just for this sort of emergency. It always did come in handy.

Finally Stig arrived to where the prisoners were being held. He loaded his blaster and moved passed the guards towards his fellow fleet members. He kept himself besides Liam, noticing that Bryn and Marian were a bit more occupied at the moment.
"Sorry I'm late guys.." he said, "But I'm here and ready to help now!"

Katya laughed quietly and slinked her way towards the crates. She kept an arm raised to protect her head from bullets and walked confidently, reaching the first crate Kat raised her hand and punched a decent sized hole through the wood. Ah the benefits of metal. Reaching inside she pulled out what seemed to be almost like an old fashioned sawn off shotgun, the barrel of the gun was short, however the handle and triggers were different and it could hold a lot more ammunition.

A sharp pain shot through Kat's side as a bullet grazed her waist. Glancing back she looked in the general direction that the billet came from and scowled darkly, she stared at the cat and pulled the safety off the gun. With a defiant click.

Hearing the sound of more crates breaking, Bryn turn and saw another one of the pirates taking out a shotgun from one of the crates. Noticing that gun was aimed directly at Marian, Bryn put aside her pursuit of Azul for the time being and threw herself in front of the doctor.

"Move!" Bryn called out to Marian, pushing her back a few paces.

She activated her shield and felt the force of the shot hit against it. The gun was stronger than she had anticipated and she could feel her arm vibrating from impact. She shook it off and looked over her shoulder at the doctor.

"You ok?" She asked quickly before quickly turning back to Kat and preparing herself for another attack.

"I'm alright! It's you i'm worried about!" She shot at Azul. She fired a couple times at each pirate, trusting Bryn could take Katya as she covered her from the rest. "STIG! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" She shouted angrily as se fired, already knowing the answer but still was not in the best mood. "GET THE HELL IN HERE AND DON'T LET THEM OUT!" She barked at Stig, blasting a few rounds at Noma, hitting her shoulder with one of her stun blasts.

Plot Update◀

A bullet embedded itself in the pirate's leg and it sent him sliding on the floor. He quickly cawled out of the way when he heard footsteps. Another fleet member? It wqas a weird lizard man thing. Whatever, Azul needed to take over the ship controls.

He was so technical wizard but he was good at smashing buttons and pulling levers, so it might turn out OK. He unsteadily got to his feet, his vision getting hazy. He was already bleeding from his arm and now his leg. The control room was somewhere on this floor, and he needed to find it. He mustered his courage and took off in a jog. A soldier was down the hallway, preoccupied by a gadget on his wrist. He looked up only to have a dagger in his neck. Azul ran by and grabbed the dagger without breaking his run. Each locked door was blasted open and examined. Azul had grabbed other weapons as he was scrambling around earlier, and they were uncomfortable but worth it.

A group of six guard were standing alert at the end of the hall, facing Azul. They aimed their blasters as soon as they saw him but Azul immediately pulled out an electric pulsar and sent it at the middle guard. As soon as it made contact blue tendrils of electricity bounced from the middle guard to the others, cooking them inside their suits. Azul jumped over their smoldering bodies and gunned down the door. "Finally."

The control room had a giant window with all the controls facing it. A single chair was in the middle, occupied by a older woman. Azul shot her in her head and shoved the corpse out of the chair.

"Now..what does what."

He was about to smash a nice red button when something odd occurred outside the ship. The window faced Earth since it was located in the back of the ship, and Azul peered out to see a giant, white ship. It looked like a Lunar ship. He was about to make some kind of contact until the ship separated in two, revealing a white orb. The halves of the ship simply floated away but the orb headed towards Earth, stopping some distance away beforebewginning to light up. Then it be gain unraveling, turning into some kind of substance that began covering the Earth. It took only a few moments, and when it was done a beam shot from Luna right into the substance. The beam didn't DSO anything else after that, and Azul sat, frozen, wondering what he had just seen.

Was Luna trying to do something nice for Peace Day. Luna never attended the festivities, so it must be doing something special to make up for it. Azul was about to go ahead with his plans until he saw the ship half that the orb discarded drift towards the orb and start disintegrating.

Something was wrong.

If Luna was doing this, did that mean it was wagingf war? How long would that wall or whatever be there?

'Incoming radio waves. Accept?' A computerized voice filtered through. Saul scanned the buttons, finally finding one he knew was correct.

A male voice, completely emotionless, filtered through.

"This is Luna's Governer, Krullion. You are now captives of Luna. You have a month to meet our demands that we will list on the morrow. You cannot signal for help, the wall will not allow any broadcasts etc unless they are sent to Luna. Do not worry, the wall will not change the climates or anything of that sort, but if you touch it you will meet your end. Refuse to meet our demands, however, and you will suffer. Enjoy Peace Day."

The message began again while Saul was frozen. Well, the others had to know. Saul grabbed the microphone that broadcasted throughout the entire ship and turned it on which allowed Krillion's voice to be heard by the whole ship.

Swearing under his breath in Russian Katya lowered her gun slightly at the sound of krillion's voice. She gritted her teeth, "Krillion..." Considering the fact that everyone seemed to have stopped for s moment Kat took it upon herself to pursue her captain to the ships controls. She stepped over the bodies that Azul had left on the floor and slipped into the room coming up behind him, "what's-" she stopped mid question and stared out the window, "well fuck me." She stared tilting her head at what must be earth and the Luna.

Marian saw Azul running out the door. "COVER BRYN!" She shouted to Stig, fireing a few last blasts at the remaining three pirates and took off down the hall on all fours in a fast sprint, her claws provided a bit of traction which kept her from sliding into walls while rounding corners. She averted her gaze from the dead bodies of the guards and just kept going, her eyes narrowed and slitted, teeth bared with only one thing in mind: Protect her loved ones.

She bound down the halls, seeing the control room and Azul looking at something. She let out a loud growl as she prepared for her lunge when the message was broadcasted over the intercoms. She skidded to a stop, sliding on the metal floor and stopping a few inches from the control room doorway as she stood up. She stared out the window in disbelief as Terra was coated in some weird forcefield. Her eyes wide, pupils widening back to a shrunken sphere as the situation hit her.

Marian was too fast for Bryn to stop her from leaving. But soon after, the intercom turned on and Bryn stopped for a moment dumbfounded. She listened to the message and could barely believe it. This was an act of all-out war. In half disbelief Bryn rushed out of the room made her way to the control deck.

She found Marian and two of the Pirates already there, staring out the window. She moved forward and saw it- The force field covering Terra. She stared in awe and confusion just like everyone else.

"This can't actually be happening..." She muttered, leaning forward against one of the control panels.

"R-right!" Stig responded to Marian. He wasn't used to seeing her this angry and it caught him by surprise. He lifted his blaster and prepared to fire when ISAAC cut him off.

"Sir, there are strange radio signals outside contacting the ship..."
ISAAC said.

Before Stig could even reply, the intercom was turned on and the message was played throughout the entire ship. He fell quiet while it played, and could only stand there and look to the others.

Seeing his captain rush out, Stig followed behind quickly, and after stepping over several corpses, arrived at the control room. He walked up to the window and saw a sight he never thought was possible. All of Terra were now prisoners of Luna. He looked at the others in the room with him.

"What are we going to do now..?" He asked out loud to no one in particular.

"We can't all be hallucinating the same thing..." She said, dazed. "An entire planet is being held hostage..." She was trying to think through the situation. Her family was on New Earth so she didn't need to worry too much, but millions of people in danger. She breathed heavily, her mouth opened slightly, her ears flattening to a parallel line, staring at the substance now covering Terra.

Jackson managed to make his way to the weapons crate, grabbing an automatic shotgun, and a side pistol. He pointed it at nothing in general, then seeing corpses on the ground, he dropped his guard, walking over to a lineup of people heading for.. somewhere. Jacks decided to follow everyone. "What's going on in here, aren't we fightin'?" Jackson asked the room of people staring out the front window in front of the command station. Jackson pushed through some people in order to see out the window. "Well... that aint' good." He said itching his head with the side pistol in his hand, as he looked out seeing the force field around the planet, and hearing the message.

"Of course it's not good." She said agrivated, her british accent slipping for that sentence. Not many really heard her second accent besides her family and the ministry.

She took a breath to calm herself down for she couldn't always bottle up her emotions, no matter how hard she wished she could. And when those emotions did get loose she usually vented on someone verbally but hardly came off violent and these occurances were rare.

"Drop the weapon, Azul." said a voice of deadly calm suddenly from behind. It was that man called King, his persona had changed entirely to match his steely eyes. He must have sneaked in while the loud message was broadcasting.

He was about fifteen meters away, a shotgun pointed straight at the pirate captain's head. At this distance, he won't miss.

King's eyes reflected on the ship's glass was livid with anger. His men lay dead and it was this worthless insignificant slob's fault. It took all his self control not to destroy him where he stood. As angry as he was, he was no pirate trash who killed indiscriminately.

@Coal

"Time and place Kat." Azul's humor was a weak attempt to calm down the intensity they were all feeling. The fighting had stopped, and soon a crows had gathered, the hostility fading away to numbness.

"The beam seems to be powering the force field, but contact with it is fatal. Luna has most likely spent hundreds of years building this technology and perfecting anything that could go wrong. I'm afraid some of us won't have a home to go back to."

Azul actually looked normal as he said the words. Maybe it was realization of what was happening, the seriousness of it all, finally sinking in. He had family somewhere on Terra. They had moved from Venus after Azul's piracy fame traveled the galaxy and they were being ridiculed and threatened. Azul hadn't found out until he had visited the old family home and found it destroyed. A neighbor informed him about the horrors his family had to cope with. Azul had never been close to his family, but it hurt all the same. Azul was still human after all.

And now they were trapped behind the opaque force field, most likely horrified. Azul knew his older brother was probably assessing the situation and trying to take control as usual. His dad would simply lock himself in the library, and his mom would bake, simple ways of coping with stress.

They might be lost to Azul forever.

He heard a gun cock, and the man's voice he recognized to be the one who had tried to interrogate them earlier.

"Which weapon? The eletreic pulsars that are responsible for the bodies outside of the door? The pistols that I shot others in the head? Or the dagger I slitted throats with? Which one?" Azul's voice was steely and cold, and his eyes seemed to be looking somewhere distant even though his gaze matched the other man's.

"Do it. Look me in the eyes as you shoot me. Watch the life drain out of me like I did so to countless others. I hope it makes up for the lives I took, I really do. I'll die, surrounded by my blood and you can continue enjoying the view of a planet being held hostage and threatened. You soon may even be able to watch Terra being invaded. Ah, millions will die, and Krillion will be the one to blame. At least I won't be the biggest scourge of the galaxy after Krillion is done."

Azul gave the man one last glance before turning back to the window.

Please excuse any grammar or spelling errors in my posts, I am writing on my tablet and my fingers are too big for these small buttons, lol

She looked between the two, thinking for a moment before deciding to take the temporary role as peace keeper. She took a breath and boldly stepped between Liam and Azul, her expression was a mix of dead seriousness and serenity.

"Look, there are millions of people down on Terra that could possibly die in a month or be subjected to a totalitarian take over lead by Krillion. We can't just sit here on this ship trying to kill eachother while others are at stake! I know we all hate eachother but can we please, put off the this until the issue on Terra is resolved. After that we can go back to slitting eachother's throats, savi?" She said firmly in her strong british accent. She stood tall with a firm glare, not showing any fear.

BANG, BANG

Went Liam's pump-action shotgun, blasting Azul full on the back of the head and Kat with stunning rounds. It wouldn't kill them, but it'll hurt like they wish it did before knocking them out with more than fifty thousand volts of electricity.

"Bravo company, this is First Lieutenant King." said Liam through his comms, ignoring the doctor. "What's your situation report?"

He gave Marian a cold look as though telling her not to talk to him.

"Oh sh-" Jackson threw his hands into the air. Jumping back from his easy going stance, against the wall pulling his shotgun out pointing it straight at Liam King's head. "The hell did you do to them?" He glared, then looked to his current situation, putting away his weapon, running over to Azul and Kat's bodies laying on the ground.

Her expression turned to irritance, for her boldness had gone unnoticed and embarressed herself for nothing. Her ears flattened a bit as her tail swished from side to side at it's normal calm pace. She crossed her arms and braced herself for whatever would happen next.
