Fantasy The Masquerade

Bound by Blood is a fairly advanced roleplay based around White Wolf’s Vampire: the Masquerade series. We’ve been around for a few years and are getting ready to kick off our second chronicle, a fresh start with new characters and a new story. What better time to rope in some new faces?

Linked in the tabs at the top of the page you’ll find everything you’ll need from rules to lore. While there may be a lot to read, don’t let that intimidate you.

In lieu of a standard OoC thread, we have a Discord server for players to hang out in and ask questions.

Now then, what blood will you take? What path will you walk?

Do you hear it? The screams of Gacha salt?

The Masquerade
The Masquerade is an organized campaign enforced by Kindred society, to convince people that vampires do not exist. The Masquerade is the cornerstone survival strategy for Kindred; without it, the humans would rise up and exterminate all the undead.

Kindred Traditions

The first tradition: The Masquerade
Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood.
Doing such shall renounce thy claims of Blood.

Put simply, do not talk about being a kindred, to those of whom who are not kindred. Or die, simply put.

The second tradition: The Domain
Thy domain is thine own concern.
All others owe thee respect while in it.
None may challenge thy word while in thy domain.

Your house, your rules.

The third tradition: The Progeny
Thou shall only Sire another with the permission of thine Elder.
If thou createst another without thine Elder’s leave, both thou and thy Progeny shall be slain.

Those who embrace another without explicit permission are subject to death, along with the progeny.

The fourth tradition: The Accounting
Those thou create are thine own children.
Until thy Progeny shall be Released, thou shall command them in all things.
Their sins are thine to endure.

Those you sire are bound to you and you to them, mistakes they make are yours as you should have taught them better.

The fifth tradition: The Hospitality
Honor one another’s domain.
When thou comest to a foreign city, thou shall present thyself to the one who ruleth there.
Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing.

Coming to another elder's domain, even in passing, is to be noted.

The sixth tradition: The Destruction
Thou art forbidden to destroy another of thy kind.
The right of destruction belongeth only to thine Elder.
Only the Eldest among thee shall call the Blood Hunt.

Do not kill one another, naturally, this ignored more often than not. Typically this eludes to ceremonious execution rather than street brawls or the such. Murder is murder even amongst kindred one can supposes.
