The spiritual creatures that left the ocean came in pairs and had a supernatural connection with their spiritual partner. The only creature that lacked a partner was mankind.
The pairs that emerged together were:
Leopard (Hodr Meme Machine Meme Machine ) and Hawk
Elk (Ran Limerick.Grimoire Limerick.Grimoire ) and the Wolf (Hel Ethereal_Dreams Ethereal_Dreams )
Boar (Freyja Thisisntmyfinalform121 Thisisntmyfinalform121 ) and Fox (Loki MToki MToki )
&
Humans

It was not only these animals that came into existence. Odin being the firstborn and the strongest out of the Vanir and Aesir tribes decided to appoint gods and goddesses and tie their forms with each one of the spiritual animal and they would be the guardians for not only the species but the earth. Since then death has left it's mark. Everything dies - worlds & gods included. In this cycle of death and rebirth the gods' power ebbs and flows like the changing tides.

PRESENT DAY
For years the world has been slowly but surely getting thrown into chaos. Nature has started to change. Humans no longer respect the gods of old and the gods of old. The moon... it's turning blood red. Humans have heard the stories of the gods and their spiritual animal forms but they no longer fear it. Some have vowed to hunt the gods' favored animal species. What will happen if the humans slowly decide to hunt the gods themselves? (if the gods die their favored species dies and their spiritual animal partner)Or if they wipe out their species of animals? (The gods shall get weaker and there's more chance of the small worshippers forgetting them and the god dies). With mankind becoming more dangerous the gods face a decision: Do they murder the god/goddess tied to humanity? Humanity has become so detached from the gods it's unknown if they would wither away and die. What shall the fate of the gods be?

Meme Machine Meme Machine Limerick.Grimoire Limerick.Grimoire I would love to have you two on as helpers! This rp probably has the possibility to have probably 12+ main characters (10 guardians/god, 1-2 hunters, faithful humans/areligious humans and NPCs (such as shop owners or something (if there are the three of us could manage them). We'll probably want a good amount of humans as some of them will be faithful to the old gods and some could be into new religions (ex. Christianity/monotheisitic) or possibly not religious at all. Part of this rp is really capturing the upheaval of the old religion.

On another note: yes this has parts of norse mythology. And yes we can use some of the stories from the old gods and weave them into the plot but you can really make your character/god(dess) your own and add to it. They could have learned lessons from the time living here.

Ok, sound great, I planned to reserve a god and a human anyway, i'll try to play a few npc's and can later set up a discord

Gods and Goddesses & what their minor powers would be associated with. You can link with whatever animal you like as long as it doesn't say otherwise. Your character's name DOES NOT have to be the god's name. When you post in the main roleplay (for gods) please include your god.
GODS
Njord - wind & storms
Loki - chaos (must have the fox be his linked animal) - MToki MToki
Hodr - winter Meme Machine Meme Machine

GODDESSES
Freyja - glamour (illusions) - Thisisntmyfinalform121 Thisisntmyfinalform121
Ran - sea - Limerick.Grimoire Limerick.Grimoire
Hel - underworld - Ethereal_Dreams Ethereal_Dreams
Skadi - hunting (mankind is her linked creature) Thrushwing Thrushwing

Other gods (not connected to spirit animal)

Dellingr (god) - Dawn (sun/moon/dawn powers) [directly connected to Earth's health]

Eir (goddess) - healing [directly connected to gods health]

If there's too few people (especially because we need more humans.) We can cut down on the number of gods and eliminate some of the animal guardians

I'll take the boar as Freyr please, and does Freyr have to take the male form or can he take the female form as well? Much like how loki can shapeshift into whatever
