Fantasy The Fall of an Empire

Hello everyone! I'd like to know if any of you are interested in participating in a fantasy rp. It will have a plot, but the actions of your characters will affect where the story will go. To provide more information, I will be posting a map and a small synopsis.

The west coast of the northern lands of Cherieth, a world of magic and might. A land proud of its grand pastures, forests and mountainous regions.

Centuries ago, the world was full of different creatures. Many of which are rarely seen nowadays. One of these was the Colossals, a race of giant creatures that once roamed the earth. Their might has allowed them to gain dominion above many. They had many territories, all under their reign. They used to be just, ruling with an iron fist and a correct judgement. However, it was not soon that their power had corrupted them. They sought more lands, and they became righteous no more. They became no longer worthy of ruling any one. They waged wars on other lands, slaughtering the lives of many.

They had to be stopped. Calling upon the forces of magic, the great mages of the earth finally put an end to the Colossals without killing them - they sealed the gigantic creatures, away under the earth, as statues unable to act or even think, only to witness the time pass by as they become forgotten.

It has been 300 years now, and the lands are in peace. Or maybe not.

Emperor Golbmeg, of the Udun blood, has launched his powerful army of soldiers and mages to do one task - to conquer the other lands within this map. Blood was shed at many places, homes destroyed, cities in ruins, and people fleeing in fear and panic. This started a long, and destructive war.

But something was odd. Golbmeg would have not authorized this just for mere conquering. He must have a larger reason to do so. Something that would make him rise in power, not only in this lands, but on all of Cherieth.

In hope of ending Golbmeg's dangerous ambitions and the bloody war, a renowned mage named Grimwald had called upon volunteers. Those brave enough to venture in the face of danger and rise as heroes. He waits, at the Lost City.

I'm hoping that would suffice for now. I would like to have at least five (5) people who will be committed to this story and wish to see it to the end. If this would generate much interest, I will start to work on the official thread.

I am welcome for any inquiries and suggestions.

Necessary Information:
In this world, many of the fantasy professions are present. A huge amount of jobs are existing all around, such as merchants, farmers, fishers, nobles, and more. All of these are playable, from combat-based jobs up to being low-class civilians.

This being said, I will be separating combat professions into several classes.

Combat Classes

Warrior - The typical melee weapon swinging, hard-headed masters of brutal combat. They trade their defenses for a strong output of their wrath.

Soldier - Like warriors, they equip mostly melee weapons. However, they are not as hard hitting as those brutes, they are a more balanced class. With their strong defense, they withstand attacks, before they wound their oppresors.

Ranger - This class uses weapons that strike from a distance. Avoiding the grasp of their enemies as they strike them down with projectiles, they usually stand at the back line. Their speed and ranged offense make up for their lack of strength and defense.

Scout - This class uses all types of weapons, be it melee or ranged. Despite of their weakness in defense and strength, they sure make it up for their unparalleled speed on foot, and their unmatched stealth.

Mages and the use of magic

Magic, as many has known, is an art. Specializing in manipulating the energies that the world continues to generate also known as Arcane, many has taken interest in pursuing the studies of this, and many have failed.

Mages, which is also considered as a combat profession, despite their inability to wield weapons, will also be separated in several classes.

Mage Classes

Sorceror/Sorceress - Mages who specialize in the use of elemental magic. Bathing in the powers of differents elements, they are a formidable foe. However, their lack of defense is usually exploited.

Summoner - Mages who specialize in calling upon creatures, both from this and other planes. They have no skill in battling, but their minions are exemplary.

Priest/Priestess - Mages who specialize in the use of light-based magic. They are known to be able to cure even the deepest wounds, and even get a glimpse of what's to come. However, their magic is rarely used for offensive purposes.

Necromancer - Mages who have fallen to the dark. Masters of the evil and the shadow, they are able to construct extremely powerful spells at the cost of a hard recoil. They never care about defense.

On the character sign up thread. If there will be anything to change, that will be settled there.

Hey, I'm definitely interested in this. Is there a limit of five people, or were you just trying to get atleast five people willing to stick it through.

There is no limit, however, I do not want it to get too crowdy, since having too much people usually tends to kill the rp.
