Futuristic The Endeavour (Family Space Adventure)

2192. Technological advances have exceeded past human comprehension but Earth is still dying. Humanity now looks to the stars for survival. Jump Gates were mankind's greatest discovery, ancient devices able to throw ships across the unfathomable reaches of space and back again. Humanity has already begun ascension but the search continues for planets that can sustain the incoming influx of refugees.

The Pathfinder Initiative was created for this purpose. Select crews of Navy personnel, engineers, navigators, scientists, doctors and weapon specialists now work together under the Initiative with one duty: To find the system that humanity will call home.

The Pathfinder ship Endeavour is where you call home, for the time being. Your father (my character) is in command and although you are not Navy Personnel, you somehow always find yourself involved in the many adventures and perils your father gets himself in.
