Where will you be when it all falls apart?

Over the past few months, it seemed to be the question on everyone's mind. And on a fine day in June, the answer became evidently clear. As tensions between the United States and the axis of evil came to a boiling point, it became apparent that there was no resolution coming. There would be no peace treaty, no surrender, only firey white-hot explosions in city centers that would kill millions.

Now, with only a day left to put the pieces back together, the citizens of New York City will spend their final few hours in the blistering summer heat. As the countdown to doomsday begins, what grudges will be forgiven? What feuds will be fought? And what vengeance will be realized?

Essentially, the idea I have for this roleplay is that it will take place in an alternate timeline, wherein the 1980's nuclear tensions boiled over. As the citizens of New York City realize there's no escaping the inevitability of Nuclear war, the city breaks out into chaos. Characters will be placed in the middle of it. As the countdown to the dropping of the atom bomb approaches you can have a list of objectives. Will you try to escape the city before it's too late? Try to reconnect with the one that got away? Or sit back and watch the world burn?
