The Diner - OOC

Brave.

Yes.

I shall try my best to be the bravest.

Ah, but this is the World of Darkness, where the already highly inconsistent funding and training for US law enforcement is that little bit worse.

Still, if your character takes their job more seriously than most of their peers, 1 Dot isn't wholly unreasonable.

Also yes, Sheriff's Deputies, sorry for not clearing that up. I was thinking Wilton is an unincorporated township a bit north of Penobscot. Slightly fictionalized world, afterall.

Keeping our cool, managing situations.

And if things go to hell we shall use the very calculated and measured response of burning everything down.

By the Emperor th town shall be cleansed in holy flame.

Sounds good to me.  That must be getting into Aroostook County, which is like redneck central from what I remember.

That was why I chose it, as it happens.

Friend of mine is a police officer who ran a Call of Cthulhu game in that neck of the woods, and that detail stuck with me.

I thought there were six players in this, total?

Also, is this going to be play by post, or some other system?

Shireling had to drop out. So I'd like it to be five or six, with two FBI, two Staties, and one Deputy, but with six people I'll accept 2 Deputies.

Right now I just need to drum up someone to fill Shireling's spot and the role of second statie.

aaaaallll byyyyy myyyyy seeeeeellllf~!

If any of you can think of someone you might want to invite to consider the role, let me know.

You get 7 Merit Dots to distribute as you see fit.

I strongly urge to you spend 2 of them on Professional Training.

alrighty, I'll check it out.

Equipment, what would you say the Maine state police force would equip their officer's with?

There's a drone hovering above close to where I live. It's just hovering there. I feel vaguely unsettled and excited. I don't know who it belongs to either so :v

From what I can dig up, the average officer has a Heckler & Koch 45 with night vision sights, but unless you're in one of the specialist units that's pretty much it beyond uniform, walkie, and bulletproof vest (which mostly stays in the car, from what I understand).

so a pistol, walkie talking and a bullet proof vest in the car.

Standard patrol vehicle or did they say 'hoof it" when we asked how were getting there :P

Yes, you get a car. I can't find specifics but it's probably a Ford Edge.

If you are still looking for another person, I'll see if my friend Sidhelives is interested.  I think she might only have time for play by post games though.

I just had a quick question about equipment.  I focused mostly on stuff the guy personally owned, along with his direct equipment kit.  Did you want me to include stats on here somewhere for like, a squad car/jeep?  I assumed it was probably not that large of a department, so a checkout system was in place, and I didn't worry about it.  I also didn't include anything on here of an assumed "tactical" nature that some departments have (like AR-15's), as it seemed that would be an unusual situation to have to pull out.

It is indeed a checkout system, but deputies have been known to just use their personal vehicles.
