The Plot

This story starts in a little town's library, the kind of place where the carnival coming to town is the biggest thing to get excited over.  One night a group of the town's kids are studying in the library where one girl stumbles across an old book with an unknown language written down it's spine in gold.  Curios she picks up the book and the moment she opens it strange chanting echo's throughout the library, all the kids being able to hear it.  The next moment the children wake up in a field thrown back into a parallel universe where the mages had called on the gods to help them stop a war brewing between all the nations.

The mages see these kids as the hope for their world, but what can a pack of teenagers do to save people's lives?  Their best, because the only way back is to decode the codex.

Rules/Information

                1.  I would like no one liners, this being said you do not need to write a book each post.

                2.  Don't just not post, let us know if you are going to be gone.

                3.  If you have anything to add to the plot, please let me know.  I would love to expand on this idea.

                4. NO GODMODDING PLEASE

                5.  You can have a character from either the library or the parallel world.

                6. The parallel world is more of a mythical middle ages style setting.  So castles and horses instead of skyscrapers and cars.

The Different Species

In the parallel world the different kinds of species are kept to basics as listed.

-Vampires-

-Trolls-

-Mermaids-

-Fairies-

-Nymphs-

-Mages/Humans-

Are you going to make a character sheet or is this a jump-in kind of Role Play?

Alessana was never one to study for school, but that didn't mean she doesn't like libraries.  Reading for fun, and reading to learn something you wanted to learn was on a different level than reading to do homework.  It wasn't very strange for Alessana to be strolling the library shelves, her eyes skimming over some of the books she wanted to read all the while supposed to be looking for a book on a project for her History class.  Fingers gliding over spines of the hard backs her breath halts for a complete second as a electric shock goes up her arm as her finger caresses a certain book.  Bring herself to a halt she focuses her eyes on the golden letters.  "Strange."  She whispers under her breath as her hand wraps around the spine pulling it from where it was held.  The entire time she is touching the book shivers are going up her spine.  Without even thinking Lee opens to a random page the letters in a language she doesn't know, pictures here and there.

" Dii mundi suscipe deprecationem nostram. Sublevare in tempore opportuno."  The words echo through Lee's mind and out loud at the same time, her world begins to swim and she finds herself falling in to darkness.  In one moment her life is simple, just trying to do some homework, the next she is looking up into a clear blue sky, soft green grass surrounding her on all sides.

Caspian Lincoln Lex

His world was on the brink of war, the entire world.  No land, no people would be left out of it.  And he couldn't let that happen.  He prayed and prayed for a way to be shown to them, and when he was approached by a mage wearing the mask of a devil he couldn't say no to his offer.

Anxiety, that was the feeling that was going through Caspian's body as he stands with some fellow mages from all over the world, each wearing a different mask that represented their powers, his being a dragon.  One by one the mages prick their fingers blood welling to the surface as they chant the words that they were assigned.  Last on the list, Cas closes his eyes as he takes his athame to his finger and the moment the blood begins to well he chants the last and final words to bring the gods here. " Dii mundi suscipe deprecationem nostram. Sublevare in tempore opportuno."

The ground shakes under his feet as his blood touches the earth the final words leaving his lips.  Darkness encases them as one falling to their knees.  Then in the next second the darkness was gone replaced with the blue sky, and his gods surrounding them on the ground.  "It worked."  He whispers. Murphy sat hunched over a book on the floor, pen in hand as it hovered over the blank paper beside her. She had been in that position a good ten minutes or so, racking her head for something to write. She had a paper due by the end of the week and so far she had only written her name in the far right corner of the page. Her hair was tied up into a loose bun as strands of curly hair fell around her face. Squinting her eyes to make the page blurry before opening them back up to make her vision clearer. The rumble of electric lights and fans in the background, moving the warm air in library around but never seeming to be doing its job in cooling the area.

She found that the longer she stared at the book the less sense it made. Murphy was a high marks student, working her way towards making valedictorian, or so she hoped. Although with this paper she felt herself loosing grasp of her hopes. "Come on Murph its only words on pages. I've done complex math faster than this. You think they actually assign a book in english...this looks like gibberish." She mumbled only stopping for a moment when she heard a faint whisper, although she brushed it aside. Closing her eyes as she leaned back to rest on the book case behind her. Instead she felt herself falling farther than she anticipated, feeling her head hit the soft damp ground. Opening her eyes she saw strands of her hair catch up with her fall, settling around her. She lay there, to afraid to move. This was most definitely not the library, although she was wary to know the alternative. She reached a hand up towards the sky, as if to judge the distance, wiggling her fingers slowly. Still slightly stunned from her accidentally fall Murphy was still attempting to gather her bearings.

(Will Introduce Valeria Later... if thats alright)

The local library, while neat and pleasant in its own right, only had so much to keep Isaac's invested interest. Had it been up to him, he'd probably be out doing something a bit more physical, but the rainy forecast didn't seem to give him much choice in the matter. Instead, he slouched in his seat at a dinky little table by the fiction section, well out of the librarian's line of sight. With a blunted pencil, he continued his mindless doodling in the journal in front of him, eyes glancing towards the window now and then. Nothing but fog washed over the glass pane, which rattled occasionally when the wind howled outside. By God, wasn't this exciting? Better make sure to keep an eye on the paint drying in the back so he doesn't miss anything truly riveting Boredom could only take Isaac so far, and there were only so many places in town where he could find something to distract or entertain himself. Before long, he fell asleep with his cheek in his left hand, a pencil in his right . . .

. . . and woke up to a face full of grass.

Immediately, Isaac scrambled to his feet and looked around. The library had suddenly turned into grassland without any sign of a road or towns over the horizon. All things considered, Isaac would react to this scenario in the same way many other people would react to being dropped in the middle of nowhere.

By screaming like a bitch.

He cursed, ran in circles, tripped and fell an embarrassing number of times, basically went totally insane for a solid minute. He did feel better afterwards, strangely enough. He'd gotten most of the panic out of his system and could think rationally again. Physically, he felt fine. He still had most of his stuff on him, his phone, his journal, et cetera. He also wasn't alone, which, considering his brief mental breakdown just now, could very well be a double edged sword. He looked around one more time, checking to see if there really weren't any signs of civilization, took some nice deep breaths, and told himself he could probably make this okay.

He could definitely make this work.

Teddy had made himself a small fort of books, his backpack and other assembled objects. Burrowed in like a tick in the corner of the library, he flicked aimlessly through volumes on "cryptozoology." He had told everyone he was working on a "project" but no one could get him to say whether this was an official school project or something personal.

Glancing up from beneath a somewhat lank tousle of hair, he spotted Allessana Finn browsing nearby, flicking through the spines of books with a rapturous look. He couldn't figure out if he found it attractive or irritating. Frowning, he began to ink a series of slimy insects and invertebrates on his arm, and then suddenly fell to the ground, his desk and chair gone from under him.

Teddy lay a moment on his back, puzzled and winded. With a shock he realised that he was looking up at blue sky and lying on grass. Obviously, this was alarming, but the shock was cushioned somewhat by something he had taken several hours earlier. He decided, as he usually did in these situations, not to panic right away but to try to relax. In a way, it was almost a relief to find himself here, in the fresh air... He sat up and his heart dropped. Boys and girls from his school, people he had seen around town, were all scattered around this meadow, gazing around bewildered as if they'd been dropped by aliens. One boy nearby, in a stupid hat would not stop screaming. It was now that Teddy felt terror. He drew his legs up to his chest and huddled, too frightened to move.

Eleanor found herself at the library that day. Whether fate or just the need to find something half interesting to do, she was there when everything changed. For better or for worse, she had yet to determine.

It wasn't an extraordinary day. Another fight with mom, another house renter lost in the ever decaying town that she lived in. It seemed that every day that Ellie stayed, the more she wanted to leave. The more she didn't want to be apart of the "cutesy small town life". It wasn't what all the movies made it up to be. Less people to make friends with and even less that actually seemed to like you. It was a dreary sort of life, that was for sure.

As Ellie found her way to the library, which seemed to be more "crowded" (she used that term loosely, as 3 was a crowd in these parts) than usual, she noticed a couple kids from her school. Probably all looking to finish that essay that they had all been assigned. Mass production, as their principal had incorrectly used. You can't mass produce essays from kids who didn't want to work. And yeah, it was obvious they didn't want to work by the way they browsed books about anything BUT their topic, held their pencils steady for more than ten minutes, or simply took naps. It wasn't the most impressive, but then again, Ellie had forgotten about the thing entirely.

The teen found herself on the dusty second floor, books scattered in all different directions and bean bags rejected in corners. Lazy and slow the place seemed to be, especially right before summer break.

Then again, the town always seemed to move in slow motion.

Ellie had set up a state of "residence" in the far corner of the top floor, far from the sight of the ancient librarian or any adult coming to find her. It was somewhere she found when she wanted to be alone, to mope on certain problems in her life. It certainly worked, considering that Eleanor found herself close to tears as she lay down on the floppy books that made up a cushion. It had been a long day. Summer couldn't come any faster, and certainly nothing incredibly looming was hanging over her either, so Ellie decided to take a cat-nap.

Bad idea, seeing as the force that drew her here had other plans for Eleanor.

Closing her eyes with the pressure of heavy silence on her ears, Ellie immediately opened them again to find that the damp attic of the library had disappeared. In fact, the entire town that Ellie had grown up in misery in had vanished all together. The teen sat up, running her hands through her hair and scanning her surroundings. Her heart was beating fast now. She knew she was somewhere different, somewhere outside of retailing houses and old, crooked buildings. The town with weeds in the cracks of sidewalks and civil war reenactments.

Her brain caught up with her heart, screaming at her. She had no idea where she was, how she got there, and any way back towards any kind of food on the table and A/C that hardly worked. Ellie stood up quickly, stomping her foot and groaning.

"What the FUCK." she screamed, and several birds in the nearby trees scattered. "This is NOT what I meant when I wished to be someplace else on my 15th birthday."

Oddly specific, but it definitely allowed Eleanor to blow some steam onto fate, or destiny, or whatever brought her here.

From her vantage point on the hill, Eleanor thought she could see some sort of white flag waving over the treetops. It was far off, but it was a start towards SOMETHING. However, something held Ellie back. Maybe she wasn't the only one here...

Lestovin

They were all in prayer now, the HIgh Warlocks, the exalted sorceresses in their silken shawls, half the Guild of Druids, even young Caspian Lex, who looked more beast than man in that mask. Even as he looked on from afar, Sir Lestovin could hear the chants, sung in some forgotten language from the other world. The pull of blood magic was as alluring as it was sickening, somehow both sweet as summer wine and foul as city sewage. "A nasty affair." Rham commented, keeping his voice low. Sarren nodded in approval. "Be silent." Lesto ordered. "Remember who you speak of." His squires were good men, though young and especially rash.

Too many people had come here to bear witness to the summoning. One by one, the mages came forward, praying in the speech of the other earth. Religion had not featured much in Lesto's life, though he was known to make offerings from time to time. He would pray for strength before battle, for a safe voyage whenever he traveled away, and for good health whenever his wife bore a child. Yet blood rituals . . . a morbid thing, that, and frowned upon by his order. There was a deep tremor in the earth as the ritual came to a close which came with such force that it sprawled those nearby onto the grass. The horses screamed, bolting every which way. The mages down in the field were nowhere to be seen, obscured by a cloud of darkness.

The quake ended as quickly as it began. Rham and Sarren pulled each other off of the ground, disoriented perhaps, but unharmed. The landscape, by and large, was unaffected, as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened just now. Yet of the summoned beings crawling out of the hills and the grasses. . . Lesto could not say he was overwhelmed by the sight. They were teenagers, all of them, hardly older than either of his squires. One boy ran about, screaming like some sort of madman. Another sat curled up in the grass, and he looked no less frightened. A girl by the treeline stamped her feet like some petulant toddler, and complained quite loudly.

Lestovin, meanwhile, was at a loss for words.

"This is it?" Sarren said, speaking aloud what everyone else was no doubt thinking. "These are the heroes the mages had in mind for us?"

Caspian Lincoln Lex

It had worked, him and his fellow mages had done it.  Then the screaming began.  Lurching back to his feet Caspian looks upon the teenagers surrounding them, one of the younger boys running around frantically.  This was their gods?  Was this some cruel joke?  Did something go wrong?

No!  He couldn't give in to those thoughts, he had to trust in his gods this could be a way of testing if they actually deserved their help.  Placing a finger to his throat his mind floods some magic to it, causing his voice to be heard even to the on lookers hidden from view.  Magic without incantation or symbols was very rare and unheard of, but it marked the High and Exalted ones.  Even though Caspian never joined the college of magic, or gained the actual title of one of the High Warlocks, he didn't need it to know he possessed strong magic.

"Do not be afraid our lords and ladies, we have come to you in our time of need.  Please help us."  At this point Caspian moves his finger from his throat, pulls off his dragons mask and bows to the people he and the rest had brought here.

Alessana Nickolette Fin

The girl with black and grey hair was lost for words as even more of the world came into focus for her.  Other people from the library were there, beginning to move around her.  The screaming kid was what finally got her jerking to a sitting position, the book still clutched tightly in her hands.  Pushing herself to her feet she dusts off some of the dirt from her light blue dress, her eyes being drawn finally to the strange people in masks.

The man's lips begin to move, at first there is no noise, and then his voice is spread out all around them, as if he is speaking in to a microphone.  Yet as Lee looks around quickly, she finds no speakers to be seen.  Was this some prank?  No, no one in their town had the kind of money to go to this lengths for a prank.

Caspian's words begin to sink in through the buzzing in Lee's ears.  Lords and ladies?  Who used those kind of words anymore?  It was like they weren't in their own world anymore. "Where are we?"  Alessana's voice carries to the strangely handsome man, still bowing to them.

"You are in the kingdom of Asher, King of the Southern lands."  Comes the reply from the man holding the dragon's mask, so far he being the only one to take it off.

Murphy still laid in the grass, trying to figure out what exactly was happening. Although not even a few seconds later a scream pierced her ears, pushing herself up to take a look around. Her eyes fell on the boy who looked like a chicken who's head was cut off, it was actually quite humorous. She decided to get on her feet to have a better look around, watching those who did the same. Murphy's eyes fell on Alessana as the cries from others rang on. She was unsure what the screaming would accomplish, from her experience it only made matters worse. When she removed her eyes from Alessana Murphy realized that it was not only those from the library. Various figures with masks surrounded them, she could almost feel her stomach drop.

Flinching slightly when the voice of a man passed her ears, although the origin of the voice was hard to locate. The way the man was speaking Murphy couldn't help but think it was some kind of joke. Who in their right mind spoke like this? She questioned herself, hearing Alessana speak up Murphy looked her way. She hoped the answer would answer everything, but the response only left her with more. They defiantly weren't in their tiny town anymore, and from the explanation they were not in any of the surrounding towns. She rubbed her face with her hands, Murphy never felt comfortable when she had more questions than answers, attempting to think of any possible explanation but alas she came up short. "Help with what?" Murphy called, as she searched the audience, liking to put a face with a voice. Her eyes landed on a man who's head was lowered. At that point she felt anger, nothing was truly being answered, and from the looks of it this man seemed to know all.

Although Murphy was very intelligent it was often over looked due to her temper. In school many were wary of her due to her behavior, never knowing what would set her off next. With fire in her eyes and her hands in fist she made her was over to the masked individuals. "You act as if I'm supposed to know what that means. As if when you say the name of this place I am supposed to feel comforted." She growled at the masked individuals although she made a point to stare the man who bowed down. She wasn't looking to fight, although with the circumstances if she didn't get answers soon she wasn't necessarily going to hold back.

Isaac

As far as Isaac was concerned, he'd either gone insane, or had become the butt of a really tasteless joke. A bajillion questions raced through his head as he tried to come up with a reason for how he woke up here, or why anyone would dump him in the ass end of nowhere. Maybe this was just some sort of dream, or a hidden camera prank show, or something. In the end, he decided it was probably best if he didn't think about how he ended up here, since that was what had him so worked up in the first place. He just needed to find a way home.

Unfortunately for Isaac, he had no service on his phone, so he couldn't exactly call someone back home or even figure out where he was. The clock still worked though, and it seemed to be fairly accurate given the angle of the sun. As if that changed anything. What really caught his attention were the people behind him. Not the three or four other kids from the library, but the shady group of men and women in the distance, walking straight towards him and the others. Oh thank God, rescuers!  Isaac thought. Without a moment's hesitation, he ran towards them, prepared to throw himself at their feet, but . . . he stopped himself.

As they drew closer, Isaac began to notice just how odd they looked. All of them had masks on, dragons, eagles, wolves, and other creatures he couldn't quite name. They dressed in very old-fashioned outfits; thick, floor-dragging robes which were anywhere from plain and ragged to ridiculously fancy. Pretty weird, but Isaac was desperate enough not the question the outfits. Until of course, he saw the bloody knives in their hands. Isaac froze. They froze. Oyy fucking vey. he screamed internally. Who were these people? Some kind of satanic cult, maybe? Who else would wear around ancient robes, creepy masks, and bloody knives? One of the cultists took a few tentative steps forward, but Isaac remained in place, like a deer in headlights. He wanted to cry out, but his voice caught in his throat, and all he could do was stand there and hope the guy was nice and not some serial killer ready to stab him. The man opened his mouth to speak.

"Do not be afraid our lords and ladies, we have come to you in our time of need.  Please help us."

"I'm sorry, what?" said Isaac. What did he mean? Was this some kind of deranged ren faire? A hallucination? What? The man removed his mask to reveal an surprisingly good-looking fellow beneath, though this wasn't very reassuring. He went on.

"You are in the kingdom of Asher, King of the Southern Lands."

And where the hell was that? Was this guy trying to tell him that he and these other kids had been moved to a completely different country? In any case, the man looked Caucasian and he spoke English, so they couldn't be that far from home.

Right?

"Umm. . . America?" Isaac chimed in. "We're from America and we need to get back home. Maybe you could tell us where we should go? Do you have a phone we could use, or maybe you could direct us to the nearest town, or something?"

From his spot on the grass, Teddy was steadily reaching the same conclusion as the others: he had gone mad. There had been a handful of moments previously in Teddy's young life when he had had similar thoughts, and although this situation was quite different from any of the others, it seemed like the most likely explanation.

It turned out to be quite difficult to just resign himself to insanity, though, so he tentatively raised his head and climbed unsteadily to his feet. Again, the landscape struck him as so nice, and he felt real regret that he couldn't just enjoy it, that it was marred by the inexplicable presence of some random figures from his daily life. And the fact that it was almost definitely the product of his deranged mind. And... The horrible hooded figures, who he was only now noticing. Why... ?

Teddy shuffled towards the nearest of his school fellows (why?), a girl he had seen around school and always sort of liked, though he didn't think they'd ever spoken. That is, he'd always thought she seemed cool. One of the figures spoke:

"not be afraid our lords and ladies, we have come to you in our time of need.  Please help us."

This speech provoked a variety of reactions from his fellow teenagers. Several exclaimed or protested, one girl ran towards the figure as if to attack him. Only one response seemed fitting to Teddy. He leaned towards the girl from his school.

"Uh-oh" he said quietly to her.

Eleanor, as expected in a time such as this, was extremely jumpy. She found that being transported into a mysterious land and being surrounded by modern-day statanic-cult worshippers really put you on edge. She hadn't seen very many exciting things in her life, and was sad to say that this would take the spot on the top of that list. What the hell was this anyways? A big joke organized by the town against her highschool? It couldn't be, seeing as the town barely had enough money to fix the leaky roof in the courthouse. No, no no. This was something much, much worse.

Eleanor lept off the Earth when an unusually loud voice sounded in her head. It seemed to be coming from one of the ever-approaching cult members. The girl barely had any time to think about this, as right afterwards, a boy from her school scared her again. She found herself in the air again, bounding away from the boy whom she barely recognized. "Teddy?" She said in a hushed tone. "Are you behind this? Because if so, I'll never give you math answers ever again.

Eleanor's mind was so scattered that she barely noticed the numerous other students from her highschool, all in the same meadow and all here for the same reason.

Alessana Nickolette Finn

Others begin to pipe in with her, which made her realize for sure that this wasn't a dream.  In dreams when people talked it was like a faint memory, and in dreams you didn't have conversations with your conscious like she was doing.  Running a hand up and down the spine of the book, the tingling feeling giving the girl some form of comfort.  It wasn't until Murphy started advancing forward as if she was going to attack, when Lee moved after her.  Lee wasn't friends exactly with Murphy, but you weren't in the same grade as someone in this small of a town and not know kind of who they were.

Without thinking Alessana grabs onto Murphy's arm, trying to pull her to a stop.  "Think this through."  She hisses softly so only the other girl can hear.  "They are holding weapons and you only have your fists, let us try and talk to them over here." Lee really didn't want to get any closer to the mysterious threat than she had to.

Caspian Lincoln Lex

He wasn't very sure why he signed up to be the one to talk to the strangers, but the man who had brought them together was conveniently back with the others, on looking with their knives held tightly at their sides.  If they weren't careful this could end badly, and who knew what that would mean for his world.

Caspian tries to wrap his mind around the questions that were being thrown at him, but it took him sadly a few moments to reply.  First he turns to Murphy to answer her question, a little wary of how to explain it.  "With the war that the entire world will be thrown in to.  We have called on to our gods for help, but I believe they have sent you in their stead for some reason."  His voice is still being controlled by magic so everyone can hear.  "This is the land of Lauriel, it holds king Asher's land, the college of the mages and the Queen of the fairies land."

King Asher Velour

Asher was always known for doing what he wanted, even if it wasn't the safest or easiest.  His will was of iron and it was how he and his ancestor's before him were able to live and rule lands as a human.  For thousands of years humans were simply used as feeding, playthings, and slaves.  Then his ancestor had raised a rebellion strong enough to free his people forever and start a better life for them all.  It was hard to be a human kind, for with one wrong move he could throw his people back into complete servitude to the beasts that ruled.

King Asher was warned to stay away from the summoning by all his advisors, but that iron will of his was not something to be reckoned with.  So of course he was there amongst the crowd, hidden as a knight with a hood covering his head.  He had missed watching the mages summon the gods, but when he heard Caspian's voice just as the others had, he wanted front row seats. Coming to a standstill next to Lesto, Asher finally pulls off his hood analyzing what just happened. "Well that doesn't look like it went as planned."

Kaladin yawned slowly as he left the dojo where he took kickboxing. Twas a good afternoon, he thought to himself as he strolled on the sidewalk. He heard someone whisper about his black hair, his personal pride of life. Carefully he parted it back. Time to go start jogging. No such thing as too much activity. Once he reached home, he pulled out of his backback a book he had thought looked interesting. However once he opened it, a sense of deja vu came upon him.

All of a sudden he was falling. His reflexes kicked in, but he just kept falling as he reached out for whatever he could hold onto. Crashing into the ground, he quickly caught his balance and crouched. Soft grass was crushed under his feet and he felt strange. He heard the screaming around him and looked around. He remained silent barely in control of his functions as the man began to tell them where there were.

Lestovin

"Y-Your Majesty!" stammered Rham and Sarren in low voices. Lestovin quirked an eyebrow. As usual, the King had decided to make an appearance where nobody would ever expect him to, and in disguise no less. There was no doubt that his absence has already driven half the court mad with worry. Asher Velour, by the grace of the gods, rightful ruler of all Lauriel, was a broad-shouldered man, dark-haired with a face fit for a warrior. He had an unwavering spirit, that was undeniable, yet was as carefree as a boy of twelve. He was prone to frivolous antics and roguery of that ilk, much to the chagrin of his advisors, but was a good king nonetheless. Lesto's two squires were all too happy to throw themselves at his feet, bowing, but for the Knight-Enchanter, he deemed a cursory bow of the head to be sufficient. His Majesty was no stranger to Sir Lestovin, of course. It was Asher who had made him a knight, who had given him a place in his court, and had bestowed upon him a grand estate for himself and his family to live in for years to come. Everything he was, he owed to him.

"You did not miss anything worthwhile, Your Majesty." whispered Lesto. "Just look at these pups. They're even greener than all the grass in this damned field."

Teddy stared at Eleanor, dumbfounded.

"How?" He simply asked. How indeed? If this was a prank, it was an impossibly elaborate one. Teddy tried to figure out whether Eleanor was acting as he would expect a figment of his imagination to act or not. She had sprung away from him, and was blaming him, so in that respect, yes, this seemed to make sense. He felt a bit sad.

Teddy listened to the ominous words of the robed figure.

"Maybe we should run away?" He suggested quietly to Eleanor. The only other option seemed to be to go along with what the robed figure was saying, which still seemed rather human-sacrificey. Teddy hesitated, not sure whether to approach the man with the others or run.

"Just . . . who are you people?" barked Isaac. His frustration was beginning to overcome his fear and confusion, and none of pretty boy's vague answers did anything to alleviate any of those feelings. Nothing made sense. He had no idea what kind of backass, remote, fourth-world corner of the world Lauriel was in, but wherever it was, he just hoped there was some way out of it. And then came the mention of fairies. Yeah, these people were definitely crazy. Creatures like fairies and forest sprites didn't exist. Granted, Isaac still didn't have a rational explanation for how or why he was here, or where or what here was, but there was a line of reason he was trying not to cross, and that possibility was really toeing it.

By this point, the upperclassmen had made themselves quite busy whispering among themselves while Isaac looked around, trying to find a way to weasel his way out of this predicament. Maybe he could run? If his days of running laps around the school in gym class had been leading up to anything, this was it. It seemed almost feasible, until he noticed that there were men on horses waiting on the hill behind the hooded figures, and realized that they could and would probably run him down the moment he started running. Which narrowed his options down to one: go along with whatever these guys told him, and likely have his soul sacrificed to Lucifer.

Before Murphy had the chance to get any closer she felt hands wrap around her arms. Clenching her fist she turned to confront the one who dared stop her although seeing Lee her eyes went wide and she dropped her fist. Of course she listened to Lee although she was less than willing to do as she was told. "I know but we can't just let them believe its okay to do this." Murphy spoke under her breath, looking over at the man with narrowed eyes as she pursed her lips.

Listening to the man she rolled her eyes as she jabbed a finger at him, although for Lee's sake she did not get any closer. "I'm not going to fix your problems. Why fight for something that has nothing to do with you. Thats my philosophy. Don't drag people into your problems." She growled before backing up beside Lee. From there she was able to see the others that have gotten themselves mixed up in this. Running a hand through her hair she sighed, feeling some tension leave her body. She knew she needed to calm down seeing how no one else seemed to be angry although her personality did not allow it.

Valeria Valenthia Sidra

Mentions: Humans

Valeria had been roaming to the woods, a thing she often did out of pure boredom.although it seemed she was in luck when she witnessed a beam of light from the distance. She was there in a matter of minutes, extending her parasol as she walked out into the field. She made her way up to his majesty as she saw him in the distance. Coming up behind him she took a deep breath and smiled as the human scent filled her nose. "I haven't been graced with the scent of humans for some time your majesty. A special occasion were having?" A small smirk played on her lips knowing that if things did not work out she would have the pleasure of cleaning up.

Like the common vampire Valeria could live off of sucking the color from an object or taking the life of a woodland animal, although the nymphs always had something to say about that. Although those were only place holders and inhibited Valeria to reach her full potential. Valeria could feel her throat burn with each breath she took, but she knew if she valued her life she would stay away from the humans until the king grew bored with them or until they died. Which ever came first.

Caspian Lincoln Lex

A little smile dances across his face at the defiance of the girl with clenched fists.  It was a good thing though she listened to the other girl.  Keeping his face straight he looks at the crowd of people, no more than just kids.  "You can't just turn your backs on us.  The gods have sent you for a reason, and I'm sure that they will not send you back to where you came from until you fulfill whatever they have planned."  Of course Caspian wasn't sure if this was true or not, but it was the best he could do to get them to help.

What if they didn't help though?  Flashes of the future play across his mind, causing a shudder to go up Caspian's spine.  He couldn't let that happen, and obviously the gods couldn't either or they wouldn't have sent these kids.

King Asher Velour

The king nods his head along with what Lestovin has to say.  The knight hit the mark exactly.  The mages had promised them gods, and instead they were given kids.  Some of them looked hardly older than his own son.  Feeling a soft breath of air at his side he casts his eyes over at Valeria.  "The mages have promised us saviors from the wars that are coming."  He shakes his head at the activities unfolding below.  "I suppose I should offer my hospitality.  Sir. Lestovin please accompany me down there."  Without another word he steps away from the crowd and moves down the hill, his hand placed lightly on the sword at his side.

It takes him about a minute or two to come to a standstill next to Caspian.  "Hello promised ones."  He couldn't think of anything else to call them, and it seemed to fit.  "My name is King Asher Velour, and these are my lands.  I would like to welcome you, and offer a place at my castle till we figure out exactly what is going on."  Sometimes the king was a bloodthirsty brute, but other time it was obvious there was more than the icy shell.

Alessana Nickolette Finn

Lee wants to nod her head in agreement with Murphy, but she doesn't.  Who knew how these people would react.  Having trouble wrapping her own mind over all the next events, she keeps her lips sealed. Alessana was never really asked to believe in a god, or gods in this instance and she found herself struggling to do so. It wasn't that she didn't want to help them, it was that she had no clue how to do so.  Alessana wasn't really good at anything other than reading and track.  Neither of those skills were exactly fit to save a country.

Lee didn't have to voice any of these thoughts as more people come down the hill, offering them sanctuary.  The man. . .No the king was a force that she instantly didn't think heard the word no ever.  He was a tall, handsome man that made her want to bow.  It was a strange feeling, she never bowed to anyone, let alone in a situation like this. Looking over at her peers she finds herself stepping forward and nodding her head.  "Thank you, sir."  She didn't know what else to call him other than that.  The king hadn't acted like he wanted them to save his people, rather he wanted to help them, and that was the only reason Lee found herself saying yes to him and accepting the offer.  She at least would go and stay in the castle, till she knew how to fix this situation, because she would.  She had to.

Lestovin

Lady Valeria Sidra was fabled for her audacity, though Lestovin never thought the vampire bold enough to walk about so casually during the day, parasol or no. Nevertheless, he didn't think she would pose a threat to anyone's safety so long as the sun was out, which was reason enough for Lesto to loosen the grip on his sword.

As commanded, Lesto set off after the king, signalling his squires to do the same. King Asher led them down the hill and into the throng of mages, who parted readily to let them through. Some whispered, some sneered. Most were silent. The King fell in beside Caspian Lex, who was trying, with little success, to reassure the young men and women before him. Looking at these pups from up close, Lesto found that they were certainly an odd-looking crew with their coarse blue trousers and willowy figures. In spite of everything, Lesto could not stay angry with them. It was not their choice to wake up here with such a grand responsibility thrust into their hands. Neither did they seem to know anything about this world at all. How could they hope to comprehend anything Caspian was telling them?

Lesto kept his stare impassive. "Hello, promised ones!" spoke King Asher, as if these people wanted the praise and worship. "My name is King Asher Velour, and these are my lands.  I would like to welcome you, and offer a place at my castle till we figure out exactly what is going on."

"We know you must have questions," Lestovin interjected, "but rest assured, we will do everything in our power to help. Only come with us, and you will be welcomed under His Majesty's roof."
