Twotall
In death, I’m somehow more alive.
The day started like any other day. Only a whole lot earlier.
A 5:30am alarm, a coffee or two, a quiet breakfast with with some half-awake parents. Then I was off.
A beautifully-early purple sky with the sun barely beginning to tip over the horizon. By 6:13am, her ride dropped her off at the airstrip and that was it. Mom and Dad still had work today unfortunately, so they couldn't see me off. Probably for the best. Olivia didn't like seeing her mother cry.
A plethora of first-year students cluttered and filed onto the large airship, setting course for Beacon Academy. Olivia was equally gittery, excited, and exhausted. The airship flight would be short and they would arrive at the academy no later than 7:00am, but she still was on the brink of falling asleep. Carrying her duffle bag and weapons case, she lugged her stuff to a seat, sat down and started to get comfortable. Even this early, people were practically jumping with joy. Students, from all walks of life were on this ship, awaiting the opportunity to prove themselves. Their skills and talents, trained over years in primary school, all for this very moment. Olivia felt a sense of happiness, seeing all these people ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. She sat back, relaxing in her chair, and closed her eyes.
You will remember this day for the rest of your life, Olivia Caldwell.
