Take Back the Crown

who was talking about a sleepover where people braided each others hair
because I could see that happening

Bo knows how to braid (three strands) and he's very patient if he has an activity to do
I'm the one who actually brought it up xD and @/teekay and I had this conversation about it basically. We even mentioned no growing his beard out and they could braid it do he ain't be left out. I said Foxrun had God level braiding skills because of his mom. So it escalated from there actually

I approve of all that had been said xD the ships, the braiding. All of it.

@ everyone (@Rydellius) tfw idk what ya'll's laws of magic are for whatever magics your characters use but Bo just,, explains things the way he/I understand magic in his "world" (even though they're all in the same one in this rp pff)

so I hope it's ok? bleh,, magic isn't really a science (since it's all fictional and made up, and everyone makes up their own rules for it in different stories) so idk man

I feel like you did a really good job explaining @soundofmind I understood exactly what you were talking about. But that's just me
I agree with all of this. You did fantastic.

Personally I think that synthetic magic could exist, but it's very very dangerous and not nearly as effective as true magic

IT WAS FINE, and explained really well!!

I feel like everybody can just kind of wing it when it comes to lore? Since we're building it together as a group.

Plus, when it comes to magic there are endless possibilities and really no limits!!

Also, just so everyone is aware. Ingvar (Hjalmar's nasty boss) IS a deity in a humans skin, and he comes from another plane of existence. Probably the very place where magic was born, as most powerful entities were born that way (including the daemons).

He's that sort of guy that likes getting involved and playing with mortals like toys, so there's really no reason he wants the money. He's crazy, and enjoys displaying his dominance and control over others.

He's not the kind of guy you would want to get mixed up with, and he is NOT easily defeated.

(sadly, at the time, Hjalmar was but a child and desperate on top of that... but it'll all be explained later when I get to his story arc).

I think it was really well put. It's really cool hearing everyone's different takes on magic through their characters and stories.

There's even more sad in Oceana's story because all elves have extra life force which means they live longer and it can be used in the form of magic. But for some reason she can't use magic so no one knows what will happen but it helps her heal faster and her senses are above a normal elf. Like basically almost dog level hearing and smell and taste. And hawk sight... And sensitive hands but she doesn't taste stuff with her feet or anything ehehe

Kacel'la is similar, she should know how to use magic, especially dragon magic, but to fit in she's deliberately like:

"I definitely can't use magic. No, no magic here-" *falls into campfire, climbs out unscathed and with skin dusted with scales* "that's no magic that's uh...make up? Whatever you think, blame Dorian!"

Lilith was simply born with magic, but kinda honed it since she was younger, so she can control it a lot better. But like explained in her bio, she's practiced more necromancy more than anything because of her family. :( So she's super talented in the area of dark magic... But still can't dead things back to life right.

Foxrun could learn more magic if he tried to. But really he only knows some illusion magic from playing pranks with the other kids when he was younger. Yet he has a high understanding and tolerance and feel for magic because of how often he was exposed to different kinds at the same time. He's endured some pretty weird stuff actually.

If he ever were to go more into magic, which I have thought about doing later on in the rp, it would be magic that deals with the mind. Still technically along the same lines of illusionary magic. But much more advanced and on a more elaborate level. Like his mother. She's a dream nymph. Which means she alters peeps dreams. Specifically she gives them pleasant dreams and thoughts. But it's on more of a personal level. Dealing with that person's inner wishes and such.

I'm rambling and hoping I'm making sense ???

Sorry guys that I've been making Hans such a bum xD

I've been trying to get into animation school while some life problems keep popping up, so I think I may have to go on hiatus for a while until things get a bit easier to manage.

As for Hans' place in the story, I think it's been established that he'll be recovering in this village for a little bit, so until I get things sorted out, he'll just be hanging out in the background like that for a bit. Sorry for the pause, but things are just getting really nuts over here.

Thanks for letting me contribute where possible! You guys are great!

(All this talk about magic I want to join in haha)

I kinda touched on it in the rp but Nameen's eye is basically a specific source of magic that latched onto her in order to keep itself from being dissolved into the overall life force energy source thing? (Hers is a different type of magic than what I use in my other story so I haven't thought it through as much)

Anyways in exchange for using her body as a host the source grants her its power, which gives her the ability to kind of manipulate the minds of living things if they're caught in the stare of her eye. She can warp the senses, making people see/hear/feel... etc things that aren't there or influence their decisions

That sounds fine!! Hopefully everything will sort itself out for you soon, my friend!

As for magic stuff (by the way, everybody's is so cool).

Svetlana and Yaroslav were already magically gifted, but they have inherited a dragons knowledge on magic and strength as well which makes them 100x more powerful than your average wizard?

Hjalmar wasn't magically gifted buuuuut that's slowly changing heh heh (can't spoil anything though) ;^)

And I just realize that all my character went off to be alone and I can't write whOOPS

Except for Svetlana who was washing her clothes last I saw her (which means she's probably eaves dropping on Bo and Nameen).

I can relate with the no character biz here. Valeiah is taking a nap.

I've kinda come up with an idea about Valeiah's magic. It's more of a hereditary thing. It's an inherited type of magic. That's the only thing I've been sure of since the very beginning?

In her tribe, the different families have different types of healing magic. Like one family, for example is best at healing small wounds. And another is incredibly gifted with fixing broken bones. There's even a family that can heal mental wounds, but they like to keep to themselves and don't share that magic often, because they aren't very talented with it and sometimes it backfires and makes things worse.

The magic is in their blood. So, Valeiah's family is mixed of all types of magic. It's why the Cermish name, in her tribe, is well known for teaching to the children and helping them master it, because they know how to heal everything (besides the mental one, because again that family is kinda hush hush. they're dying off lol)

It's a hard thing to learn though? It's almost like learning a sport. You have to work at it constantly and practice a lot. It's something that develops and gets better over time. And it's amazing when a child is pretty much born into their powers.

Valeiah happens to be one of those special kids, and on top of that she's a Cermish (which actually is her mother's surname, not her father's. Mapiya threatened him into keeping it that way because they're so great and she's kind of cocky).

So yeah that's kind how her magic works. I was thinking about it today ahaa
