Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

PenBlade1326

The Faint Light In The Dark Tunnel Of Life
It's 2014. The current year. Modern times have passed monsters on as myths, legends, all make-believe. But little do they know that the creatures that go bump in the night are very real. It's been years since the last band of Slayers were brought together.

A form of peace has covered the world for the past few centuries. Vampires, werewolves, other undead, spirits, and all other...monstrous things have lurked in the shadows for all that time. Now, they've arisen and will try to take over the world, and they will make the humans remember why they're supposed to fear them. They feel as though they should be more than just nightmares, they should be considered REAL threats. Because they are.

Only one thing seems odd...the Slayers, destined to save the world...are mere high school students. And they're the most unlikely heroes. Not even friends, really. Totally unaware of what destiny lies before them.

Gonna wait for juuuuust a little while. I'll let you all know when it starts! Keep an eye out for alerts tied to this RP!
(Keep in mind, we're starting as our characters BEFORE they become Slayers, so for now, any knowledge they have of creatures is a coincidence and we're all normal..for now)

Just another day at Hilltown High School. It's the first day of school, freshman are eager and all older students are regretting that they came. Jane stood at her locker, placing all the un-needed binders inside. She hummed one of her original songs to herself slightly. She takes her time at her locker, class starts in about 10 minutes. Her freshman year is something she dreamed of her whole life, ready to being life anew. She closed her locker, dressed like a tomboy-ish punk rock singer, she began walking to her first period class, a co-grade class where all four grades are admitted into. (I'd like all of the characters to be in this class together :) )

Takao is in his class 5 minutes before everyone else arrives. He walks in and sits his book bag on the windowsill next to his seat in the back of the room. He Quietly sits there as he pulls out his book and reads before anyone else including the teacher is there. He keeps returning to the clock on the wall above the door hoping this day would be over a lot faster. His mind goes blank for a second and sees a girl walking to the room. Who is she? She is in this class..I wonder if shes nice..I doubt it..no one talks to me anyway. His vision ends as he sees and hears people walking into the room. He stuffed his face in his bool and quietly read.

Jane's dressed in black skinny jeans and a black and pink t shirt and black converse with pink laces. Her brown hair flowed over her shoulders. She looked like a feminine tomboy...odd mix. She sat in the middle of the room, setting her backpack on the floor and watching other students pile into the room. She remained quiet, humming her song to herself softly.

Takao saw the girl walk in an honestly could not look away. There was no doubt that she was beautiful, but would she like him. He waived it off and began to put his book away as the bell rang. He did not know how his first day would go, he was actually not ready fro all of this. He can't wait to be a senior next year. Also this is a co-grade class. Seniors would be here, Jocks maybe? And Freshman, will they ask me where their next class is or even to be friends? All of these questions on only the first day of his 3rd year. What class was he even in again? He wants to ask but doesnt want to sound stupid or even be ignored.

Conner walked into class, sat in a seat, and prayed he wouldn't be seen by anyone. He wouldn't be a stranger to harrassment. But until that happened, he would be reading a lovely book that had nothing to do with the real world.

Amelia walked into the class wearing a cheerful creme colored dress with black polka dots on it. Her red flats matched her red belt and her red lipstick and her little red purse slung over her left shoulder, too. She found a seat front and center and sat down, placing her binders on the rack under her desk and began arranging her writing implements in the right corner. Amelia could tell that today was going to be a good day. The world had an upbeat mood today, and her pencils were already sharp and crisp - the erasers weren't even blackened or smudged! She smiled to herself as she watched the other students take their seats, settling into their disorganized cliques.

Takao saw the boy kind of speed walk in and he knew they were in the same situation. Quiet, alone in the world like me. "The first class of the day huh. Alrighty then." He stares and the front of the room with his head in his arms, swallowing to kind of keep himself from being bored out of his mind.
He stared at the girl as she walked in. The red theme going on definitely attracted eyes. Her organization made his head spin. The neatness and the long hair. He felt infatuated almost. Shes probably just like the others. a user. He can't trust anyone with his heart, or anyone for that matter. No friends, little family, he was an outcast.

Jane watched the boy and girl enter the room. The boy appeared nervous, and the girl was...well, what Jane calls 'Perfect Prep'. She glanced back at the front of the room, waiting for the other students to enter the classroom.

Takao's eyes kept coming back to that girl in the middle of the room. He had to know her name. He has been watching her for a while. Wanting to let her know that she is beautiful. Was this his chance to break his shell? He wanted to get up so bad and say something. His mind drifted away from her and headed to his desk. Its like a canvas for peoples markers and pens. it was covered, and he didnt even want to thing of the gum that was probably on the bottom of the desks. He was grossed out.

Amelia felt the eyes behind her. They were staring again. They were always staring, she knew, but it never hurt to press her dress again, toss her hair, make sure her pens were in the right order. She decided she could use the remainder of the time before class began to set up her notebook to begin taking notes. She opened up a brand new notebook, taking in the smell of the fresh paper, and picked up one of her five colored pens to write her class header.

Jane sat in the middle of the room, pulling out her iPod, waiting for class to start. She put in her earbuds and began listening to her favorite band, All Time Low. A few jocks entered the room. (Acting as a cue for @Huntrey to enter now xD )

Watching the jocks enter the room Takao glares at them, in his mind thinking What a bunch of brute..I don't need any of there shit. He grabbed his bag and took a small pocket knife out. He brought this for protection since last years incident. He shoved it in his pocket and pulled out a small notebook for notes, he wrote the date at the top and even doodled a bit. He looked over and saw Jane put her headphones in and was able to come up with some of the words from the song. All time low..?? She likes them too..interesting. The other girl in the front of the room had a lot of pens. too many he thought to himself. All he needed was one black ink pen.

Luke had just cut the engine to his car when he finally noticed the time. Grabbing his coat and almost running through cars, he reached the gate. Swiftly he entered his school, exchanging glances with his friends and teammates. He didn't talk to any of them, for all the conversations would be dull and repetitive, he longed for new friends. When he finally reached the class, he had already ditched his binders and his coat, the locker barely fitting it all. With his signature necklace, jeans, buttoned up shirt, and his friends beside him he entered the room. While his friends were joking and laughing, Luke was lagging behind, trying to ignore a girl desperately grabbing for his attention.

With a quick study of the room, he decided on a seat to deter the girl, one that was near a preppy girl. She was color coordinated, almost with her binders and notebooks at that. He lost the girl and sat down next to Amelia, giving her a smile as he entered the desk. With a quick attention he removed a pen and small notebook from his pocket. Placing them on the desk and leaning back in his seat, he was finally ready for the day.

(Thanks for that :3)

Jane pulled out a binder custom-decorated in band logos and other assorted decorations. She took out a pencil from her backpack and set both her the binder full of paper ad her pencil on the desk. She glanced around the room, noticing the jocks who entered. Her eye caught Luke. Kind of cute. She thought. She had the whole freshman-finding-older-boys thing going on. She then looked to the preppy organized girl, Amelia. She shot quick glances around the room and saw Conner and Takao. Jane was the only freshman in the class....the youngest person in the room. Awkward. She thought.

(Anytime :3 )

Amelia looked over to Luke as he sat next to her. He's so dreamy, she thought to herself. She returned his smile with a genuine grin of her own. "Good morning, Luke," she said brightly, eying his necklace that he always seemed to be wearing. It was a consistency that she liked - not that she needed to see it to recognize Luke. He was, after all, one of the most popular kids in the school. He was a senior on the football team and the focus of pretty much the entire female population at Hilltown. After all, what wasn't to like?

Takao noticed how behind Luke was from the rest of the jock. Was he really one of them? How is he going to make friend. There was one empty seat left in the room. Who are we still waiting on. seconds felt like minutes to him. Keeping a close eye on Jane he kept thinking over and over again about her. It was all in his head and it would never happen. His head began to hurt as another vision came to him. Who are these five other people..they are so blurry..I can see them. 3 girls..two boys and me..thats all I can tell. His vision ended abruptly as the chair of Luke's slid into place next to the preppy perfectionist. "Oh god he likes her" Her muttered to himself.

Jane wasn't one to be social with new people right off the bat. She thought Luke was cute, definitely, but being a freshman made her confidence die down. She shook off the thoughts of saying hi to him and just kept listening to her music. I'm just a freshman anyway. She thought to herself.

He looked onto Amelia, giving her a intrigued smile, "I don't believe I have had the pleasure," He held out his hand, awaiting an introduction from the girl. He fit the bill of dream guy to a dot, beside the fear of relationship. So when the girls in the class looked upon him he smiled, being the gentle giant he is.

Jane observed Luke and Amelia. "If only I could be that sociable." She muttered to herself. She wasn't jealous, just a little down that her confidence was so low. Like Luke, she's afraid of relationships, and it only adds to her insecurity. He was a jock anyway, and she was just a punk chic. Not exactly your everyday match-up. She kept her thoughts focused on the music blasting in her ears through her earbuds.

Takao saw as his hand stretched out and laugh quietly to himself "Funny. hes trying so hard" But..maybe im being hypocritical about this. I like that girl..a lot. Shes beautiful. He shook his head and plugged his headphones into his phone and shoved them into his ear. Disturbed blasted kind of liud to where some could hear.

Amelia was taken aback by Luke's words. "Amelia," she replied curtly. She put her hand in Luke's, letting him do the grasping and shaking. She felt silly for being a little upset that Luke didn't recognize her. He was two years ahead of her, and it was ludicrous to think that he would know the names of all the girls in the school, especially those that did not fawn over him all the time. But she did play in the marching band. Wouldn't he have seen her at a game or pep rally? Perhaps if she was a cheerleader...

She took her hand back quickly and fished around in her purse for her hand sanitizer. "Would you like some?" she asked Luke. "It's cherry," she added with a smile as she realized it fit her color scheme for the day.
