Futuristic Sky Dreamer (OOC & Discussion)

Yeah, same! Sounds good to me. Also, love your character; Silas is so much fun to read about.

Also, I'm operating under the assumption that Marv, Diego, and Jesus are cargotechs on their first run with the Transverse. If this isn't the true, I'll just go back real quick and edit it. (I'm also assuming that Lu-Lee's been on at least one run with the ship before.)

@ tarandus tarandus @birmiethewormie, Tempestus Tempestus

Y'know I suppose it would be prudent for at least one of the techs to have intimate knowledge of the ship. So let's say Scutter has been on this thing for a few months at least, plenty enough time to get acquainted with the different compartments. Besides, having worked at a dock not unlike this one he's seen his fare share.

As for the Delgados, they're younger but that doesnt mean they dont have SOME experience with ships. I mean if you want them to be green as guacamole then by all means!

I adopted the unwritten rule of narrative roleplaying: when no obvious post order is indicated one post per GM action - aka - GM posts and then each of us posts once until GM makes an update and so on. I've seen in some games people make room for more active/eager roleplayers as they dish out more posts in between GM updates, in that way facilitating IC communication/character development and contributing to the health of the game without being smothered passive by pace of others.

I guess that is something to consider?

Tempestus Tempestus in my post I took the liberty to presume that Marv was present at the muster, before you acted ICly. Let me know if you want anything edited.

Of course! Let me read up from today's developments. Finally getting settled in to check up on it.

Also Darrian_Gabriel Darrian_Gabriel what's the story on this Crysanthium? How is it contained? Is it volatile?

Awesome, I've edited it to reflect that. So they (Scutter and Lu) probably have at least passing acquaintance 👍

Yep, absolutely up to the writers of course, but I'd assumed that this was their first shipping out on the Traverse, but not their first experience on a ship. Would be interesting either way, though!

Yea leave it up to me to forget to mention the highly volatile payload, lol. I had planned on it to resemble really rough looking rubies essentially. It's a new mineral only discovered and mined on certain moons and asteroids. In it's raw form it's very dangerous and can only be stored in special containment and magnetically sealed crates. The mineral ore is run through special treatment refineries that break the Chrystherium into constituent elements, which produces a wealth of different fuel sources for all kinds of space craft. Very lucrative for the company.

Guys, it's Traverse...:P

Oh, whoops. I've fixed it.

... I mean, haha, whaaat, Transverse? Never wrote that. No idea what you're talking about. I wrote Traverse, it's only ever been Traverse, totes used the correct one since the beginning.

I'm gonna have to grab this tomorrow. Theres a couple of big plot points that need fleshing out before I post up!

Tempestus Tempestus Fantastic post. What a wrench to throw in there, haha! Would you like me to write out the full part with the test, or just Lu-Lee's actions (and you write out the test results)?

Cool cool, I basically wrote halfway: room for you to add more if you'd like, but complete enough to move on if you don't!

Tempestus Tempestus Also, do let me know if you'd like me to change anything. I'm totally up for editing the outcome, making their lives more difficult, and so on. Hell, if you want to have the captain get annoyed enough to actually act in your post, I'm fine with that too!

I somewhat altered the timing of the blood samples and when the troopers are ordered to move. Hope that's alright!

Rejoice in the revelation that is to come. F'taghn!

On a more serious note:

...
“Alright everybody back to your positions, the sooner we leave this shit hole the better!” yells Gabriel to his crew as he takes Silas aside “I want a special tracking beacon fixed on that goddamn Falchion at all times.
...

The tracking beacon in question - is it a device or did Gabriel have something else in mind?

He just a wants some of the ship's sensors solely focused on the military vessel that'll be escorting them, just in case the other ship tries anything funny. Gabriel is quite paranoid, lol.

I just realized, that in my last post, I really didn't leave a whole lot of room for your characters to do very much. I'm going to update again on Tuesday , but if anyone wants to respond with a short character blurb in the interim, by all means. In the next post, Gabriel will be interacting a little bit with his tortured past in a dream/digital simulation. This is a chance for you guys to flesh out your character development in kind of describing what your people are doing in their down time. Exploring a little about their hobbies, interests and how they would occupy themselves just lounging around the ship, maybe explore a little about their past as well. Than the real action begins...

Sorry, for some reason I wasn't getting notifications from this thread. It's a bit late but

Yep as far as I'm concerned this is the Delgado's first run on the Traverse. I see it as the first time they've ever left Mars as well, but I'd double check with Birmie before I guaranteed that cus we're sharing backstory.

Glad I saw this, I've been at a loss for what to post about. Also glad there isn't a lot of pressure to post nonstop. I like the vibe in this one and I'm interested to see where it goes, but sometimes I'm a bit neglectful.

So just for everyone's FYI, at the end of my most current post, the ship has suddenly entered the mysterious nebula and the ship is taking heavy damage from a vast debris field. The ship didn't pick any of it on it's sensors and all of it quite literally came out of nowhere. That's what all the sirens are indicating.

Anyone want to engage in a scene with Silas? How about that movie night while the Commander is busy riding his unicorn? I figure we could invest a bit in interpersonal relationships (especially those who were longer on-board) before the proverbial sh!t hits the fan.

Lemme know if anyone is interested. Either way I'll have a post up in six or so hours.

Riding his unicorn...lol. Is that the new name for playing chess?

Just a heads up, as the ship keeps getting pummeled by debris, the damage to the cargo hold is only gonna get worse. There'll probably be a bit of a shouting match between Gabriel and Scutter as Gabriel wants to desperately save the Chrystherium, while Scutter argues that if they don't jettison the cargo hold, it'll cause irreparable damage to the Traverse.
