Realistic or Modern Sakura High School

Sendo gave her a sheepish smile. And naturally she smiled back to him. The corner of her soft lips would curl into a smile and she would let out a small soft giggle.

Sendo would take her hand again and follow the two juniors. His hand was more cooler than before but it made Rina's heart throb more than before.- She knew Sendo was a popular guy, maybe taking her hand meant nothing..., he was just doing this because he wanted to take responsibility to lead her right? - she brought her other hand and felt the beat of her heart in her chest. Why was her heart skipping?

Between two beautiful sakura tree, Rina and Sendo took positions side by side.
The area was lit up by various colored lanterns. like white, yellow, orange, and pale pink. Sendo threw his arm over Rina's shoulders and gave a piece sign to the camera. Rina pretended she is totally calm but inside her hearts were very nervous. He was standing very close. she squeezed the garment of her yukata with both hands then she tried a natural smile to the camera.

"We are going to print out this picture. You guys pick up this later or you can wait around here. And we put this picture on the bored later too. Good luck Sendo sendai! " The juniors said then they went back behind the boards where the photo printer was placed. Sakura petal keep dancing around Rina and Sendo. These lanterns made a more enchanting atmosphere around there. But then suddenly, someone broke the spell. "HEY! Sendo! What are you doing!! Man, finally found you... you said you going to get some foods and you never came back!" it was Sendo 's volleyball teammate Joe.

The juniors would tell them that when it was printed they would add it to the board. The board was decorated from head to toe with pictures and pictures of students. Some photos were in groups, others as one class but there was particular photos that stood out from the rest. It was the photos of couples. Every photo was amusing and varied from person to person. Poses portraying from cute to cool to downright stupid and funny. A smile crossed Sendos face spotting a picture of a couple doing the pig nose together. Looking at the wall he would realise somthing he had not as a kid when he had seen the pictures on the board. Every picture had somthing in common. It was obvious in every frame and smile. It was friendship.

Suddenly Joe Would call out to him running towards them. "Yo Joe look who I found!" Sendo would point out Rina to him. Earlier the boys and girls team had searched for Rina to invite her for the group date.

"Oh, hey Rina!!" Joe would respond with a wave and warm smile. "We have been looking all over for you. I'm glad Sendo found you." Joe knew about Sendos feelings for Rina so with scratching the back of his head he would slowly back away. "Well, when you guys are ready we have already secured a table near the stage. The girls couldn't wait so they already made us go on a food run so just come down and have a bite when your ready. Okay guys see you soon, umm okay byyee !!" With that Joe would run off again and disappear into the crowd.

Joe spoke all in a rush and it didn't leave Sendo with much tme to react or reply. Looking over to Rina he would raise a brow. "Did you understand any of that? Because i didn't." Sendo would give out a small giggle. "Well I do want a bite, but how about we try our luck for some goldfish first." With a grin he would point over to the fishing for goldfish mini game stall. "What do you say?"

HAKO HARUKI

Hako never really thought of her future. In fact, she never even considered the fact. She had always focused on the now, and never felt she had time to think about it. She always focused on trying to have fun with her best friend or trying to kick Akia out of the house. Besides, she might have seemed overall positive on the outside, but on the inside, she was a pretty negative person.

She always tended to avoid the topics of future, because if her thoughts led to that, all she could imagine was her and her mom homeless out on the streets because Akia had screwed them over. She'd imagine Isobe moving on and having a happy life, while she was left in the dust as a garbage woman. She never had any talents that stood out to her or other people. In fact, she usually just went around learning random things. She knows a few random songs on the piano and guitar and learned a few things after an unnecessary conversation with the local plumber. But put all her skills together, she was useless, she didn't excel at anything and honestly, couldn't think of anything to do or even if she wants to go to college. And it's her last year too, you'd think she'd have some sort of idea by then.

So if she had no idea about her own future, how could she come up with an idea on what to say to future Bret?

Looking up she noticed that Bret had already finished his, well he seemed to know exactly what he wanted to say. While she knew nothing.

"Hey Bret, do I have to finish this now?"

Brets back was towards Hako as he looked down at the open capsule in the palm of his hands. This was the big plan he had for Isboe. This was suppose to be the perfect plan to woo her off her shoes. It was hard to admit but life was very unpredictable. One time your on top of the world and the next thing you know the rug beneath you gets pulled right under your feet. How could he not notice the small glances? The stares when Hako thought he was not looking. All this time he had thought when Hako had glanced over to him it was not at him but past him. What a fool he was. He was so focused on Isobe that he never realised what was right in front of him. Hako would finally break the silence pulling him from his thoughts.

Half turning to her Bret would notice that her plaque was still blank. His dark eyes finally picked up somthing he had failed to see. He was so obsessed with what he wanted to do that he had forgotten the most important thing. He forgot about her. Setting the capsule down he would take Hako side and Sit right beside her crossin his legs.

"No you have to do it right now no exceptions." Bret tried his best to sound stern and serious. Then not able to hold it any longer he would give a small laugh and nudge her softly with his elbow. "Well what do you want me to do? Hold you at gun point to finish it." With a giggle he would focus ahead of him on the fireflies swarming around the clearing before them. He had noticed earlier that Hako seemed a bit down but what was the best approach?

Gaze focused ahead Rina would come to mind. It was clear as day now. Rina talked and talked and fed him every day not only because she was a chatterbox but because she wanted someone to talk to. She wanted someone to listen. Someone to share her ups and downs with. She wanted a friend. and now he had to be there for Hako like he was for Rina. He was not good at comforting but he was certain without a shadow of a doubt he was a damn good listener.

Eyes ahead Bret would finally say it "You okay?"

(So sorry i wanted to reply yesterday but my mates came over)

HAKO HARUKI

Since Hako got there the aura around them had reached awkward and stayed there. It really just made her uncomfortable, and she should be happy shouldn't she? She's at a festival with her crush for pete sake! Yet the whole time the atmosphere felt almost negative. God this is weird.

Hako's eyes followed Bret as he sat next to her and answered her question, it was a little hard for her to figure out whether or not he was being sarcastic until he laughed, and she flashed him a smile. They remained in silence for a moment and Hako found herself staring back at the plaque. Her attention drew back to Bret as he asked her a question.

"Huh? What no I'm fine," she said holding her hands up in mock defense. She wasn't exactly sure why her mood had been so null the whole day, she was usually a cheerful person to other people. Maybe it was Akia who had put her mood down, Isobe had always made note of that, she'd always guess that Akia was back before Hako even had a chance to tell her about it.

"Sorry if I've been kind of off. We all got our problems, right?"

Rina would turn around in the direction where the voice came from. A tall guy ran up to them. Rina knows Sendo and Joe were good friends. They always ate lunch together near the classroom window, they also walked back home together after practice, she often saw them eating something at seven eleven near the school. She was sure a bunch of girls admired of them, hoping they go to the festival with these boys, but these boys from volleyball club admitted to go festival as group. It shows the strong bonds they have. And they included Rina in their group, it gave Rina more confidence and security.

Joe spoke in a rush explaining that they were going to eat foods near the stage, and then left back into the crowd.
"... mmm maybe he have to bring food to girls asap?" she said to Sendo and giggled. She could hear big cheering and claps from stage direction. might be another song will be starting soon.

"Gold fish! Yes, I want to try it! I never done it before." She said to Sendo. When she was little, Bret brought a gold fish for her. She gave it a name calling it "Mikan" because the gold fish was a beautiful orange. She was excited because her parents hated any animals like dogs, cats... she never could have pets but with a gold fish she could hide it in her room. Finding a glass vase she put Mikan inside with water. Next day, when she came back from school she went straight to Mikan. But... she couldn't find that vase anywhere. Under the bed, inside closet or inside the drawer. Finally she found a empty vase inside the rubbish bin witch was next to the car garage. "Don't bring those useless things anymore. Its disgusting." Her mother said from behind her. Something dropped down from Rina's hand and scattered all over the ground. It was food for the gold fish. "Clean that up now!" The mother said with a sigh and quickly went go back inside the house. From that day, she never played the gold fish game.

"My parents never allowed me to do that... but now they are gone, Im going to get a big orange one!" she said.

Bret stared at Hako with his dark brooding eyes. there was a hint of sadness he identified in those mesmerising brown eyes which was hard to identify because she maksed her emotions well. You could say she masked her emotions too well. Bret understood her in that context. He himself knew vulnerability all to well. Like the back of his hand, or what he would like to call it the back of his fathers hand. He had been through so much trauma that it was exhausting. It grew to the point where it was just safer to not open your heart at all. It was easier. It softened the blow when you were let down. But it was a long lonely path that eventually lead to self destruction. He had come close many times but it was Rina and Isobe that had turned him from that destruction. It wasn big things, but little by little they chipped away into his heart. Was this his opportunity to do the same for Hako?

"Hey don't worry about it. It's true we all have our problems but what's important is that your not alone." The urge to comfort her and let her know he was here for her was stronger then ever. Raising his hand it would hover over Hako small shoulder closest to him. His fingers would brush the fabric of her yukata lightly. Then at last second he would lightly punch her arm. "You got me with you so there's nothing to worry about. If u want to be punching out of your problems then I'm your man." With that he would give a small laugh. "Okay?"

Looking down at her plaque he would place a hand over her hand that was holding the pen letting her know she didn't need to write anything. "We got all night so how about we get back for the dance and you can finish this up later." Realising he had touched her hand he would cooly and calmly return his hand to his lap.

HAKO HARUKI

Hako remained silent as Bret spoke, he was trying to comfort, that much she got, and in fact, she was grateful, those words were something she really needed to hear. She's done nothing but look on the downside of things. From the beginning, she's done nothing but think negatively, and while yeah that's her true nature, it had done nothing but ruin her mood to the point where it showed outside, where everyone even Bret could notice it.

It started with rejecting Aki, which ended with her feeling bad, and she had spent the past week convincing herself that Bret would probably just reject her when she confessed to him and she would move on with life. Now she's out at the festival with him! Akia ended up making her mood even worse the second she opened the door, and from then on it spiraled down. The whole problem with the delinquents, the asshole principal, and the fact that she hasn't been able to get in contact with Isobe all day.

She needs to stop.

She remained silent as Bret lightly pushed her after a slight hesitation, and stared down at his hand which rested on hers with a blank expression. He notified her that she didn't have to finish now and took his hand off of hers.

After a slight pause, Hako would set the marker and plaque on the ground and stand up, throwing her arms up in the air into a stretch. She'd push a free strand of hair behind her ear and ignore the fact that the hair band was pulling on her hair. Finally, Hako would look down at Bret.

"You know, that's the second time you've pushed me in the past few minutes, could it be possible that the great notorious Bret is nervous?" she teased.

Sendo

when Rina would agree to go a warm energy of joy would electrify his body. This was no longer a dream anymore. This was finally becoming a reality.

This event held for the graduating seniors was not just an invitation for students but it extended to families and friends in the area. When he was a kid he had been here a this very point. Eyes full of wander and excitement he would wonder stall to stall soaking in the enjoyment of the occasion. It was all fun and games to him but there was one moment he could not forget. He was trying his hand to catch gold fish when he would notice a couple. He felt naturally drawn to the energy between two teenagers to his right. He remembers it like it was yesterday. The girl was teaching her partner a method but in the middle of the exchange you could feel it. You could see it. If you blinked you would miss it. It looked like a normal conversation between the high schoolers but if you looked closer you could tell it was more then that. Energy was swarming around them forming a shield around them as if to block everyone out. They were locked in a world for two as his eyes held hers. They had entered a secret world only they could share together. A world only built for him and her. a world of only one love. Sendo had the image burned into his memory and from that day he vowed he would also share it with someone special. That day has come. Finally his dream was no longer a dream. But a reality.

"How about we get two big orange ones then." A cheeky smirk would cross his face. "Let's do it!!" Leading the way he would pass a group of girls all with candy floss in their hands. If he remembered it would be near the takoyaki stand. Scanning the area briefly he would spot the takoyaki stand, then the gold fish stall a few stalls down from it. "It's over there!" Sendo would help Rina see pointing out the general direction of the stall over a few heads. " so why won't your parents let you have a goldfish?" Concern was etched into his brows as he walked side by side with Rina to the stall through the busy crowd.
