It was in the year 2012 that the first attack happened. A group of supernatural beings came out of hiding and tried to wipe out the human population, and they almost succeeded in doing it too. The humans were confused, and it only took a handful of them to overthrow the military and anything else that could've come their way. They continued this for three long years until it all suddenly stopped. Rumors spread although deep down everyone knew what had happened. The supernaturals were stopped by their own kind, and every supernatural creature went back into hiding, as though nothing ever happened in the first place. Now, half a century later, the humans have prepared themselves. They've created new weapons to kill the supernaturals and prisons to capture them and figure out what works and what doesn't. It cruel, but it's effective, and so far they have succeeded in almost making the supernaturals just a myth once more.
In this new world, anything of the supernatural wasn’t accepted. Anything even suspected of being supernatural was hunted down and killed by the government. Friends and family alike turned their backs on each other, and entire towns were murdered in under a night. It was almost as if the world was ending, for the supernaturals at least. Amidst all the chaos, children were often abandoned by their parents, causing orphanages and foster systems to be overpopulated. There was a rumored “orphanage” for kids, although it was really a safe haven for the supernatural children. It's largely unknown and only few supernaturals have even heard of it, causing it to be much smaller than the usual orphanage that one might find.
Both the people running the orphanage and living inside it have been suspected by the government, and they are constantly on the move, trying to evade being caught. They move under ground or in the sky, places that will be easier for them to escape if they happen to be attacked. It's hard to keep moving and stay low profile, but they somehow manage. Liev, the owner of the orphanage, along with Seraphina, her helper, are tasked with keeping the children out of sight so that they don’t have the same fate as their parents. However, the government is catching up, and they're not sure how much longer they can keep everyone hidden.
