love alarm is an app that took the world by storm. if you've downloaded the app, it has synced up with your heart and knows who you like, and who likes you. if you have the app, and the person you like also has the app, whenever you walk within 10 meters or 32 feet of them, their love alarm will ring with "one person within 10m loves you," but how can they know if its you, if you're in a crowded room?

Welcome to the year 2019, where love alarm is far more popular then it was ever expected to be. someone rings your alarm, but you've lost them in the crowd, leading you on the search of who is ringing your, love alarm.

Before the storm begins
I will cast that spell on you
For Mingyu and Minki, there really was nothing like just being able to enjoy being around the other. Even at school, both of the boys sat on the roof eating their lunch, in complete silence but peacefully. The clock chimed as 1.15 pm rolled around like it did every 15 minutes during the lunch hour. It was a bland tone, but everyone knew its meaning. It resounded softly outwards towards the ends of the campus, before going silent. The twins sat close together, Minki picking at the combined lunch they packed, and often holding up portions for Mingyu to eat as he scrolled on his phone. The two often escaped to the roof to avoid conversations with others at this time, as they relaxed between classes, and planned out the rest of their days, and who did the homework for the night.

On the other hand, Rena was sitting in the cafeteria. The girl sat in the back corner avoiding most people, as she picked at a meal that her elder brother had made her. Frankly, his cooking wasn't the best, but if he somehow managed to mess up something so simple like scallion pancakes, Rena was going to need to call the police on his disgrace to their family heritage. She hummed softly poking at the items in the container and frowned. She was distracted, thinking about the swim meet this week, and how they were going to go about it. They were on a losing streak for the last 5 meets, and she just didn't see a way that, they'd be able to come back, from that.

Blinking hard, rolling his eyes to try and wake himself up, HyunWoo was struggling. He had barely been in Seoul for a month, and had just started at the new school. He had been so nervous every single day before going to school. It kept him up late. He had tossed and turned for hours as he attempted to fall asleep the night before. He kept thinking that maybe someone would recognize his name, or look up his family, and find out about his father. That no matter how far away he was from Daegu, from his Appa, everything they did to escape the negativity that surrounded them would come flooding back. So far, nothing had happened. Hyun hadn't spoken a word to anyone since he arrived at the beginning of the semester.

When he finally had fallen asleep, he was woken up just a couple hours later by a small voice. SangEun, who he affectionately called Tokki, had come into his room, complaining of a nightmare. This wasn't a new occurrence. Ever since the year prior, his baby sister had started to have nightmares. Since their Eomma was so stressed and barely slept herself, Hyun had taken it upon himself to comfort her. It didn't matter how late it was, he'd wake up and talk her through her dreams. Sometimes they were about monsters outside the house who tried to break in. Other times it was about bad men coming in and stealing him or their Eomma away. He knew they had their connections. The people who mobbed outside their door, yelling obscene things and condemning their family. The fact their father was taken by police in the middle of dinner and SangEun was yet to see him again, all without an explanation. It hurt him every time she walked in with tears in her eyes. She had slept the rest of the night in his bed. She was a little blanket thief too.

HyunWoo pushed the side dishes he had on his plate around, trying to keep his mind preoccupied so he wouldn't fall asleep. He wasn't hungry. It was something that was happening a lot recently as well. He didn't have the will to eat, just like he had no will to make new friends. He knew his Eomma had woken up early before her shift at work to prepare both him and SangEun a lunchbox. He was grateful, truly, but he barely touched his food. Hyun knew that she was trying to make everything as normal as possible. There was no going back to normal, he knew that. He wished that they could go back to normal. Though, to sugar coat it would hurt more in the long run than to try and accept it.

Deciding that he was finished trying to force himself to eat, Hyun packed up his lunch and pulled out his homework. Maybe if he looked busy no one would come up to him. Stuffing his earbud into his ears, he played something loud. Normally he'd listen to classical or instrumental while working, but that would lull him straight to dream land. He rested his head on his hands, pushing his hair back off his forehead as he looked down at his math book. He was good at math, well, kinda, he tried really hard to be good at math. This was hard, harder than what he was used to. Why had he signed up for AP classes again? He was stupid, that's why. He should have just picked lower level classes to just skate by, but no, he had to be a tryhard. Nice going idiot.

[div class=st]
[/div] [div class=text][div class="scroll"] He had been crying in the bathroom stalls again.

Oh Minjoon found himself wiping his face with some toilet paper, trying to calm down and ease his puffy eyes. Normally he was a good student. Heck, he was a great student. Some people would also call him out as a teacherโ€™s pet. But today, he was far from it. As all the other students went off to lunch, he had been called back by the teacher to stay for a talk. Even just being asked to stay back to talk was causing anxiety in his chest.

What happened next was the first scolding he had ever received from a teacherโ€ฆ first scolding ever. He stood there with his head down and his hands clasped in front of himself as his teacher began to go on a tangent of how his latest homework and test scores were dropping. That he wasnโ€™t going to get into a good university if his scores kept on dropping this way. He needed to pick up his game and focus on studying. I mean, the teacher ended it all with โ€I tell you these things because I care about you. I know things have been hard since your Appa died. You want to make him proud, donโ€™t you?โ€.

And thatโ€™s what set him off.

The tears began to fall from his eyes as soon as the teacher had said that. Of course, he made the older male flustered and he told Minjoon to go and clean himself. And thatโ€™s how he ended up here. Sitting on the closed toilet in the bathroom stall, wiping the tears from his face. It was lunchtime and he knew that if he didnโ€™t finish up with this little sob session, he was going to be hungry until tonight because he had work after school.

He tapped his cheeks, hoping to help with the redness of his face before standing up. Taking a deep, shaky inhale, Minjoon decided that it was time to get going. He stood up to his full height before exiting the stall. Thank goodness there was no one else here to witness his little pity party. After splashing some water onto his face, he gazed up at his reflection. Okayโ€ฆ Heโ€ฆ seemed human enough now.

By the time he reached the cafeteria, most of the swelling had felt his face. Thank God for that. After a patient wait in line to get his food (thanks to the meal card which his brothers insisted on paying for), Minjoon was able to gather his lunchโ€ฆ Only to be faced with his next problem. Where was he going to sit? Normally, he was one of the first few to get to the cafeteria and would find himself a nice spot by himself. He usually took this time to study as well or to catch up on any homework he was starting to fall behind on, so he liked to be by himself. Plus, it wasnโ€™t like he had any friends to sit with, right?

But thanks to his little crying show, the cafeteria was flooded with students and he felt like there wasnโ€™t a single table that didnโ€™t already have people sitting at it. Maybe I should sit outside? He thought to himself as he held a tight grasp of his tray, aimlessly wandering around to see if there was anywhere where he could sit for some peace and quiet. dong-hyun.
Dong-hyun's notebook was littered with doodles, his pencil barely hovering above the page as he fought to stay awake. He'd had a late night yesterday because he'd stayed up painting after finishing his work for the day. He felt like he had barely any time to himself nowadays โ€” school lasted until ten every day, and then he'd go to cram school until eleven. When he got home, he'd put Tae-hyun and the twins to bed before doing whatever chores needed to be done โ€” laundry, dishes, and the like. By the time he finished all this, Jae-hyun was usually back from God knows where. The middle schooler's cram school ended at seven, but he stayed out with his friends until at least midnight. Well, at least someone in the family was enjoying their free time.

Normally at midnight, Dong-hyun would head to bed to start the grind again the next morning, but yesterday he'd been feeling so burnt out that he needed to do something to unwind. He lost track of time while painting, not realising how late it had gotten until his dad arrived home at three in the morning. This was where things started to go downhill. "You're the oldest." His dad had told him, "You should be setting an example by studying properly, not wasting your time on... whatever this is supposed to be!" He yelled, crumpling up his paper and throwing it away. Dong-hyun was completely dumbfounded. While his dad wasn't exactly supportive of him pursuing art as a career, he had never lashed out at him just for painting. At that point, he decided to just go to sleep for the night. He wasn't ready to have this conversation โ€” he knew it would only end badly.

The stress and fatigue of the day seeped into him over the course of the morning, resulting in his barely conscious state in class. The teacher droned on in the background as Dong-hyun struggled to keep his eyes open, mindlessly writing down the lecture. Something about logs? Weren't logs made of wood? What the hell were they doing in his maths class? "I need to study this later..." He thought, while drawing a log with a face into his notes.

Maybe he could close his eyes for just a second. He felt relief as he allowed his heavy eyelids to rest, but it only lasted a second until the aggressive BRRRING of the school bell made him jerk awake again. He really couldn't catch a break today. As he packed his things, he counted the hours until the end of the day. Nine more hours. Maybe he could sneak in a nap during self-study, because he was running on fumes right now. He slapped his cheeks in an attempt to wake himself up, and then got up out of his seat.

Dong-hyun joined Areum and Eunji to go to the canteen. There was already a horde of people rushing to get lunch. He usually stayed behind the crowd. It really wasn't worth it just to get food first, it wasn't like they were going to run out. Having to push through people to be first in line was too much stress. No, Dong-hyun was perfectly content with eating a little bit later to avoid the crowd, thank you very much.

When the trio arrived, the canteen was already half-full. They finally got their food, and Dong-hyun was practically salivating at the sight. Lunch was the only meal of the day where he could have rice, which therefore also made it the best meal of the day. He also found that the food here tasted better on Wednesdays โ€” he wasn't sure if that was just his superstition or whether it really did taste better on Wednesdays. Maybe it was just the relief of being halfway through the week that imbued the food with extra flavour.

After getting his food, Dong-hyun scanned the room, looking for a place to sit. Rather than a massive congregation of people, the room naturally split itself into cliques. First years, second years, third years. Popular kids, geeks, athletes. There was also a handful of loners spread out around the room. Dong-hyun's eyes came to focus on one of these loners, sitting with his homework out and his earphones in. "Isn't that guy who joined our class this semester? I think his name was Hyun-woo." He commented to Areum and Eunji. "He seems like he's alone... Do you guys want to find a table and I'll invite him to eat with us?"

Dong-hyun carried his tray over to Hyun-woo, taking a seat opposite him. He flashed him his most rehearsed winning smile. "Hey! You're Hyun-woo, right? I'm Dong-hyun!" He introduced himself. "I was wondering if you wanted to eat with me and my friends." He glanced at the homework sitting in front of the boy, as well as the earbuds in his ears. "You don't have to or anything!" He added hastily, "I don't want to bother you if you're busy."

1:15pm, Wednesday, March 14th, 2018. It had been a long fought battle but the allies were defeated. The tyranny was hard to revel against and no matter how hard leaders Toy and Gunwoo fought there was nothing they could do. They lost. They lost against the administration. They had lost against their teachers. Toy was devastated. They lied and everything but nothing could be done to budge the school security. It was official for now and for the foreseeable future. Toy and his indie band, Glow, would never be able to perform at any of the school's annual talent shows again. They said they couldn't allow for the students' safety as they didn't know the members who didn't go to this school and bands performing like that was a University thing. Since they formed the band at the end of the last school year, they'd been trying to find ways to play together in public that wasn't just busking. Busking was great but gigs made for a good career and Toy didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. He liked the drums and music production so if he could do that then he'd be happy.

Right now, Toy was sulking. He was dragging his feet to lunch following behind a few people he tended to gravitate towards, his fellow bandmate Gunwoo, a few music club people and some nerds. Normally the Thai boy was an idealist, always thinking about new possibilities, but he'd been trying for months to get the school to allow them to perform but to no avail. They'd already posted the news on social media that there was no way they could perform at any of the three different high schools that the young band members attended. Toy's pouty lips were on show for all to see. A smile was normally plastered across his face during lunch but seeing Toy sad made his regular group of lunch time buddies feel bad. They all knew how much Toy wanted this. They assumed he'd be fine within a few hours time. Usually small difficulties make him sad for short time periods but this was a major failing for Glow and the drummer really wanted this to work. Alas, there was nothing he could do now. He simply sat at a table whilst his friends grabbed food. Gunwoo knowing how sad his best friend was decided to leave him alone. It was for the best. Maybe some time to himself would make Toy think over the current band situation. Grabbing food, the teen sat at the table a meter or so from his group of friends, sulking and not touching a single grain of rice. This boy had his an iceberg and was sinking.

He is the new guy, I can't wait to talk to him it would be nice to get to know him, besides he looks like a prince" the girl said as she got flustered by her own words. As Donghyun left, she started looking for a table where they could sit it didn't take her long until she found one that was empty she rushed to take a seat on it as she waited for Areum, she noticed Minjoon who was searching for a place to sit, he knew the guy because they both worked on the same cafe, she knew about the passing of his father and how the guy was trying his best so she always tried to support him and try to make him laugh, until this day she had kept the secret of his father passing away just like he wanted it, not even Areum knew about it so when she saw him alone Eunji knew she needed to invite him "Hey! Her morning routine, while much different from others, was her normal. Her Eomma had come into her room after she hit her second snooze. It was a hard day if she hit the snooze twice. It had been almost two years since the accident, but she still woke up with pain. Some days were worse than others, and today just happened to be one of those days. There was really no rhyme or reason to when her body decided to protest getting out of bed. It just happened. Today, Areum had, most notability, nerve pain that made its way down her legs with it's fuzzy aching sensation making it difficult to get up out of bed. It was probably the most frustrating type. With muscle cramps or the usual aches and pains from creaky bones, you could do something about it. Nerve pain, however, was more stubborn and would probably be there for most of her day. But she wouldn't let it stop her. If every day that Areum woke up with some pain and she let it keep her in bed, she'd never leave. She had pushed through worse.

Once she had gotten help with getting ready, admittedly a bit more than what was necessary, Areum had been feeling better than she initially started off. She was very happy that her Eomma was willing to help her with things other teenages wouldn't need help with, but she still went overboard some days. Areum was fairly independent. She was able, for the most part, do everything on her own. She had adaptive devices and special techniques for getting out of bed and into her trusty set of wheels, for putting on clothes, for taking a shower, and other things important for living. Sure it would take her longer, which was why she had to be up so early every morning, but she was able to do it on her own. Her mother was yet to accept this fact, especially on painful mornings, and insisted on doing a lot of things for her. Areum had now learned to just let it go and let her do it. She didn't want to fight with her or make her feel bad for just doing her best. Even if it could be annoying and overbearing at times, the girl could endure it. One day she would love on her own and probably miss her Eomma's worrying.

School had been nothing out of the ordinary. Areum sat through lecture. She attempted to take notes and pay attention, but halfway through she always seemed to zone out at least once if not more times. She turned in homework she had barely completed due to her forgetting all about it. While she was smart, she was even better at forgetting so it often put her at a bit of a disadvantage. Being with other people, especially her friends Eunji and Donghyun, had made it easier to forget about her physical ailments. Talking and getting excited over stupid things made her day that much better. By the time lunch rolled around, she was starved.

Areum was glad that her friends had decided to walk with her. She wasn't exactly quick with getting to lunch. Don't get me wrong, when she needed to Areum could zoom in and out of places. She had gotten pretty good at propelling her wheelchair and maneuvering herself around. It took a lot of energy to go that fast thought. Not only was her pace slow, but packing everything up and getting everything situated in her bag attached to the back of her wheelchair also took forever and a day. Needless to say, Areum was not a fast moving person. It didn't seem to bother Eunji and Donghyun to arrive a bit later to the cafeteria than most. Areum went through the lunch line just like everyone else. She gave each of the lunch ladies and gentlemen formal thank yous as they served her food. Her cheerful smile never leaving her face. When she finally got her stuff, she set it down on her tray attached to one of the armrests in order to transport it over to the table they chose.

She looked up and Donghyun as he explained that he was going to go invite the new kid, HyunWoo, to come and sit with them. She heard Eunji's comment and laughed happily. "I agree Eunji! He's a little cutie! I always like to break the quiet ones," She replied, an excited grin on her face. She watched as her best friend found a table for all of them. Areum followed after her, Eunji being quick and already sitting down while she tried to maneuver herself perfectly so that she could sit at the table. Setting her tray, and removing all the things in her way, Areum looked up when she heard Eunji calling out to someone. Oh! Minjoon! Another one of those quiet ones she wanted to crack. Nodding and smiling in glee over at the boy, Areum gestured for him to join them with enthusiasm. "Yeah! Common Minjoon ssi. Just once, pretty please!" The girl brought her hands together, begging him and blinking rapidly. She knew him from where Eunji worked. Areum often came into Cloud Nine for her tutoring jobs. Mostly because she could hang out with her best friend when she was done. He never seemed to want to talk to her whenever she spoke to him. Part of her wondered if he just didn't like her. Well, too bad. Minjoon was going to like her and they were going to be friends whether he thought so or not. Eventually she would get him to speak. One day. And what a glorious day that would be. The girl brought her hands together, begging him and blinking rapidly.

Rena was silent, lost in her thoughts at the moment, before seeing a tray placed down in front of her. It caused her to blink and looking up, a small smile quickly formed on her before sombre-looking expression. Siyeon, if Rena was thankful for anything in the last couple of years it was totally Hwang Siyeon. Every time she saw her, she couldn't help but think of how these last three years have flown by, and how nice to was to have someone else who understood her on some level that wasn't Yantian. Rena didn't get close to anyone, but there was something about Siyeon, that Rena couldn't help but want to keep close and dear.

Siyeons question made her pause for a question as she poked at the scallion pancakes in her tin a bit more. Did anything interesting even happen? They were second years and quickly watched as their final year was drawing near. She frowned and shook her head. "Not really, at least nothing here that I've noticed. But you've come at a good time. The time of me brooding about another swim meet, and how we are totally going to lose. Again." Rena groaned at the mention of a swim meet. She LOVED swimming. She loved the races for it, and the competitions. But she hated how poor the team was. It seemed a lot of the new members this year, were just average, and nothing spectacular. Which really bothered her, because she only just got onto varsity, and even varsity was nothing amazing. She was one of the best swimmers on the team, and everyone else was average, some even below average. "I just, don't expect how the coach expects us to win a meet."

She sighed, placing down the chopsticks she held her hands. "Please, tell me something interesting has at least been happening with you, and the idol scene. Being normal sucks."

Hyun felt his heavy eyes drifting to a close. He had tried to focus on the math book in front of him, but it was not helping. If anything it only made him want to sleep more. If he knew the school better he'd probably be able to find a quiet spot, maybe a bench or something and take a quick power nap. Too bad he didn't know anything about this place and he didn't know anyone to ask. Just as he was about to nod off into his algebra, Hyun heard some shuffling in front of him. Opening his eyes, he stayed in his position. He could see the tray and sense someone nearby, but he really didn't feel like interaction with them. Maybe there was no where else to sit and the person just decided to sit down across from him. That was his most hopeful scenario.

Don't speak to me. Please just keep your mouth shut.

It seemed that as soon as he thought those words he heard the other boy speak. Thank you extroverts for ruining his life. It was like this kid read his mind and wanted him to suffer the terrible fate of making conversation. Hyun's hand moved to pull his right earbud from it's spot as he glanced up at his new company. His body was still hunched over and his head was still resting on his hand. He listened to the boy, DongHyun, ramble on about eating with him and his friends. HyunWoo internally groaned. Just when he thought he could scrape by without being noticed or even spoken to, this dude had to come and ruin it. He seemed nice, he was just trying to be kind to the new kid. It wasn't like he was aware that Hyun liked to be left alone. There was no use in being rude, that would only make the situation worse.

After DongHyun finished speaking, Hyun gave him a close lipped smile as he finally sat up slowly. "Uh, nice to meet you," He responded, debating whether to accept his offer. Would it be rude to decline? Probably. He really wasn't busy. The work he was doing could wait, it wasn't like he had other things to do later in the day. While it wasn't his absolute favorite past time, Hyun could probably benefit from speaking to people. It would at least give him something to keep him awake. It could be that DongHyun and his friends were fun and Hyun might make an acquaintance. Or at least a person to ask where a napping spot was the next time he was sleep deprived. "Sure, this is giving me a headache anyways," He told him while shutting his book. His voice was level, slightly monotone as he spoke. Hyun had neither the energy or the want to fake enthusiasm. He wasn't normally the most excitable person. He really only got worked up when he was playing video games and screamed at his TV.

Shoving his book back into his bag, he slung it over his shoulder and stood up. He gestured for DongHyun to lead the way to where his friends were. Meanwhile, Hyun was trying to peg where this kid could be on the social ladder. He was nice, very obviously outgoing, and, objectively speaking, handsome. He didn't really understand why, but he just radiated energy that screamed popular. Oh God, did he just make the wrong choice? Did he choose to associate with a group of uber popular super stars of the high school? Way to go genius, ruin your lay low plan week one by befriending the prom king. Well, it was too late now. Whether his guess was correct or not, Hyun got himself an unwanted lunch invitation from DongHyun and accepted it. It was just one time anyways, there was no harm right?

playing: i'm so tired... (cover) by oh minjoon
I could sit over thereโ€ฆ And too late. Those other people got it. Man, why are you so slow? Okay, wellโ€ฆ maybe I could ask to sit with these guysโ€ฆ And no. That guy came in to the cafรฉ and spilt coffee all over his shirt and then blamed it on you, even though you were behind the cash register. But that doesnโ€™t matter because the customer is always right and Manager-nim got you to apologise even though it clearly wasnโ€™t your fault. But youโ€™re way too much of a wuss to stand up and defend yourself, arenโ€™t you?

Geez. When did his inner monologue become so mean? Minjoon scrunched his face lightly as his thoughts were attacking him. All he wanted to do was find somewhere to sit and eat his food. Not have a guilt trip over how crappy his personality and traits were. He had internally confirmed with himself that he was going to go ahead and just find somewhere outside to sit. Maybe underneath the tree? Or by the basketball courts? Well, heโ€™d have to sneak around so the teachers didnโ€™t catch him bringing out the canteen utensils and bowls. But just as he was about to start walking once more, he heard his name being called by a familiar voice.

Eunji.

She was calling for him to come and sit with her. No. Not just her. She said us. Who was this other person she was talking about? Minjoon began to slowly walk towards Eunji, curious to see who else would be joining her for lunch. However, a group of students walked past just as he tried to have a look. However, he heard her voice before he saw her. It wasโ€ฆ her. Areum. Minjoon stopped dead in his tracks and felt his face burn up instantly. As the students finally made their way past and nothing was standing between the boy and the two girls at the table, all Minjoon could do was stare.

Dear Lord, he was going to have a heart attack.

Areum was sitting there like the prettiest damn thing in the whole freaking world and wasโ€ฆ was she doing aegyo?! Bringing her hands together, blinking rapidly and asking him pretty please. Was she trying to kill him? The way he looked at her would oddly resemble the way a victim would respond to their bully. He was petrified. And not because Areum was a bully. Oh, God no. It was because she was too perfect. He was afraid that if he opened up his mouth, he would say something stupid and offend her. That he could hurt her. Dear Lord, he didnโ€™t want to do that.

Looking back and forth between the two girls, he through he was going to vomit from the nerves. Well, was he going to be a man? Was he going to grow some balls and actually sit down with them and eat his lunch? Or was he going to be a coward and try and sneak outside for lunch and probably get in trouble? And then probably end up back in the bathroom, crying his eyes out. Okay, he was going to try and grow some balls. He slowly nodded at the girls, giving them a head bow and mumbling a โ€˜thank youโ€™ to them. Minjoon then placed his tray down at the table and took a seat; a seat which was the furthest away from Areum. And as soon as he sat down, he kept his head down and began to fiddle with the covers of his food on his tray. Okay, so many he was only growing one ball today. At least one was better than none, right?

yoon
dong-hyun.
Mid-way into his sentence, Dong-hyun started to wonder if he was making Hyun-woo uncomfortable instead of welcoming him. He seemed tired, his body slumped over the table and his head cradled in his hand. Great, he'd done it again โ€” sticking his nose in where he wasn't wanted. His brother had always told him he should stop butting into other people's business. But then again, his brother probably would've been expelled from school by now if Dong-hyun was any less nosey. Well, it was too late to back out now. He was pretty much talking on auto mode, his brain and his mouth running two different conversations at the same time.

He perked up slightly when Hyun-woo smiled at him. "Nice to meet you too!" He said brightly. He seemed like a nice guy. Maybe on the quiet side, but the fact that he wasn't immediately rude already said a lot. Since Dong-hyun was somewhat of a social butterfly, he'd met a lot of nice people but also quite a few unsavoury ones. He had a feeling Hyun-woo was one of the nice ones. When the boy complained that his homework was giving him a headache, he laughed, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "Maths isn't exactly my strongest subject..." He said, thinking back to the time when his little sister had asked for help with fractions and he didn't know the answer. She was eight. "But I can lend you my notes if you want! I can't guarantee they'll be helpful though..." He added, scratching the back of his head. Maths wasn't really his thing, so he needed to study it more than other subjects. Art and biology, on the other hand, were his best subjects.

Dong-hyun picked up his tray, waiting for Hyun-woo to finish packing away his stuff. "My friends are over there." He said, nodding his head towards the table where Areum and Eunji were sitting. There seemed to be another person as well, sitting at a distance from the pair. He couldn't quite make out who it was. Maybe one of Eunji's friends? Since she was in the year below him, he didn't really know a lot of her classmates.

He led the way to their table. As they got closer, Dong-hyun realised that the third person at the table was Eunji's friend, Min-joon. He didn't know him all that well. He got the impression that he was scared of him, although no matter how much he thought about it he couldn't understand why. Min-joon was a timid person in general, but seemed to become even more so when he was around him. The boy was a bit of a puzzle, but that's why Dong-hyun tried to be as friendly as he could whenever he was around, and stay out of his way when he wasn't. "Oh, Min-joon, you're joining us too? Great! I can introduce everyone at the same time." He said, moving aside so as not to block their view of Hyun-woo.

"This is Hyun-woo! He just transferred this semester, so be nice to him." He said. "And don't scare him off!" He added, looking pointedly at Areum, who had made a concerning remark about 'liking to break the quiet ones'. Having personally spent his fair share of time being harassed by her, he definitely wouldn't wish that on anyone else. Although to be fair, her strategy obviously worked considering that they were close friends now. "Hyun-woo this is Areum, Eunji and Min-joon." He said, gesturing to each person respectively, "I'm guessing you already know Areum and Min-joon, but Eunji is a first year so you might not have met her."

Self-introductions over, Dong-hyun took a seat beside Eunji, sliding his tray next to hers almost on instinct. The table was fairly big โ€” even with the four of them, there were still spaces beside himself, Areum, and Min-joon where Hyun-woo could sit. Well, this was an interesting combination of people. Didn't Eunji say that the new kid looked like a prince? If she tried to flirt with him he thought he might die from secondhand embarrassment. "So, are you thinking of joining any clubs? Eunji and I are in the art club, and I'm on the tennis team as well." He said, trying to kickstart the conversation.

Eunji knew how shy Minjoon was, she thought it was a miracle how the poor guy hasn't died of a heart attack by having to deal with all the customers back in the Cloud Nine, and she was sure that he wasn't someone that was used to be around people that's why she always made sure that Minjoon felt included and try to cheer him up so he wouldn't be afraid of meeting new people, but maybe Eunji wasn't doing a good job when it came to that, so at least she could try inviting him to have lunch with her and her friends.

So when she saw Minjoon walking towards their table, the girl got a little bit surprised she thought that the guy would just run away and hide somewhere, so maybe there was an improvement in Minjoon and that made Eunji happy, soon she would see him being friends with everyone at school.

Not only Minjoon was joining them but also the new kid, well if he accepted the invitation of Dong-hyun, but who wouldn't reject Dong-hyun in the first place, he was such a likable person there was no way the new guy would say no. She was happy that they would eat with more people since the more the merrier.

After she thought of that Eunji took a glance at Minjoon who was already eating and just trying to hide inside the bowl of food, well, maybe Minjoon wouldn't be the best friend of everyone at school after all, but she wouldn't let him just stay there without saying any word "How was work yesterday? Did something fun happen yesterday?" She asked him "Yesterday was my free day and my mom wanted me to go and buy some groceries with her" she added so Areum would know why she wasn't at work and so Minjoon knew why she did yesterday.

Just after she started talking, Dong-hyun arrived at the table and he wasn't alone, the new guy was with him too, Dong-hyun started introducing Hyun-woo to everyone and made a remark of don't scare him offwhich was mostly directed to Areum, but Eunji was sure they wouldn't scare Hyun-woo. The girl took a glance at Hyun-woo and she was right, he really looked like a prince that was taken out of a romance book, he was just too cute, would he think that she was cute too? Should she have put more effort into her hair that day? What if she thought that Areum was prettier than her? Her friend had this charm that would make anyone like her, meanwhile Eunji, well, she was just Eunji.

All those questions were in her head that's when she noticed that Dong-hyun took a seat next to her, she pouted slightly as she saw her friend sitting next to her, she didn't mind that Dong-hyun sat next to her, but she wanted that Hyun-woo was the one next to hear not Dong-hyun. What if Hyun-woo misunderstood what kind of relationship they had because of it and thought they were dating or something?

When Dong-hyun started asking Hyun-woo if he was planning in joining any club and told him they were in the art club she knew if she could make him join the art club they could spend more time together, she could imagine Hyun-woo sitting in the art classroom painting or drawing and if he had any problems she could help him or then working together on a project was something that made Eunji smiled like a fool and hopefully she wasn't blushing at her imagination "Art club is really fun! We do all these different things, so I'm sure, you could find something you would like. I'm also in the photography club and it is just as fun as the art club! You should really come and see them"

Areum felt giddy that Minjoon had decided to sit down with them. He was so quiet, it was such a pleasant surprise. Not that she had expected him to turn down their offer. Areum was incredibly optimistic and bet that he would have. Still, she couldn't help but squeal happily, her wide smile causing her eyes to disappear. At his mumbled thank you, all she could do was beam over at him. "No, thank you for blessing us with your presence!" She giggled. As she heard Eunji speaking to Minjoon, Areum looked around the nearby tables. She noticed Toy. He was sitting all alone, a frown on his face. Almost immediately she felt her face pull into a sour pout. Where were his friends? Why was he so sad? She felt the need to ask him what was wrong.

"Toy-ah! What's wrong?" She called over to him, waving her hand and patting the open seat next to him. "Let me hug it better," She added quickly. Areum was always one to comfort anyone with hugs. It didn't matter if they were friends, or complete strangers. If someone was upset around her, she wanted to make it better. She, herself, always felt better from a good old hug. It was only natural, then, that was the way she felt everyone wanted to be comforted. She thought she gave pretty good hugs too. Her arms could beat the best of them at arm wrestling. That could be a killer party trick. EunJi then spoke to her. Her attention was then brought to her friend and MinJoon once again. "Ahhh," She nodded with understanding, "I wondered where you were. I was there for like half the night with this student who just couldn't understand how to factor. It took me For-freaking-ever to get it into his brain," She paused for a second before continuing, "He's the sweetest kid though, I just wanna pinch his cheekies!" She gushed.

Then her face finally came upon confusion. Minjoon had been there? She hadn't seen him at all. Areum was hoping to say hello to him and maybe have a conversation with him. Her determination was to make him like her. She couldn't do that if he wasn't around. Apparently he was though. "You were at work?" She asked Minjoon as her head moved to the side slightly, "I didn't see you at all." Was he on break? Did she happen to come in before or after his shift. Though before she could continue, DongHyun returned with HyunWoo. Her face lit up with a bright smile towards the younger boy, only to pout slightly at DongHyun for his comment. "Wae? I'd never!" She whined before brightening up again. She watched as the other two began to interact with him. Glad that he had decided to join them. She was giddy over all the new friends she had joining them for lunch today.

Hwang Siyeon

Mood: Everything was going fine until she talked
Outfit: School Uniform
Interactions Rena ( truthofself truthofself )

Just by looking at Rena, Siyeon knew that the girl in front of her was thankful by her presence, they haven't been able to see each other since Siyeon's schedule was packed with activities due to her comeback, and she knew how Rena didn't trust on a lot of people it was like the girls only had each other to rely on, which for Siyeon was okay, she knew how hurtful people could be, by experience, so having someone that she could trust and wouldn't hurt her felt nice.

Siyeon started eating as she heard Rena talk about what happened while she was gone "Not really, at least nothing here that I've noticed. But you've come at a good time. The time of me brooding about another swim meet, and how we are totally going to lose. Again." Siyeon knew how passionate Rena was for swimming but it was also known that the swimming team wasn't doing their best, you didn't need to be a professional to know that the swimming team was lacking "You don't win nothing stressing out, I know that you are passionate about this, but you can carry the whole team in your own if they don't want to work harder is their loss, no need to sugarcoat things with them just go and tell them that they need to get it together before turning the team into a complete embarrassment"

"Please, tell me something interesting has at least been happening with you, and the idol scene. Being normal sucks." After hearing those words from her friend the idol let out a laugh "You know, being an idol is not as amazing as it seems sometimes being normal sounds really tempting, but the dating world, while you are being an idol, is something, so you don't hear from me, but do you know that girl from this group eternity? The one who is the youngest and appeared on a drama, not too long ago, well she is dating the leader of 4VX, but if they are trying to hide it they are doing a terrible job. If they get caught, is over for both of them since the guy is like 20 and the girl is like 16, that's the most exciting thing that happened while I was away"

After she said that Siyeon heard the loud and annoying voice of Eunji "Hey! Minjoon! Come and sit with us! It would be fun!" She wasn't a fan of the happy girl, not even a bit, in fact, she couldn't be more annoyed by her presence, but even if she didn't say it aloud was because Eunji reminded her a lot of who she was "Why that girl and her friend on the wheelchair have to be so loud? Sometimes I wish I could erase that smile from her faces"

Hyun nodded at DongHyun in order to say thanks for the offer of his notes. Math was normally something he was decently good at. To not have a clue how to begin was super frustrating for him. He may not be the most intelligent, but he was determined to do well. He'd probably stay up the majority of the night in order to figure it out on his own, even if he desperately needed sleep. He couldn't imagine being able to sleep well anyways. Following DongHyun to the table, he scanned the faces of his friends. The girl in the wheelchair was Areum. The other girl was EunJi. That left one more person. His name was MinJoon. As soon as Hyun saw his face, his eyes narrowed.

Oh, so that was his name. Hyun knew him alright. He really wish he didn't. He felt annoyed at seeing him again. It was completely a gut reaction. He let out a slow breath. He was sure that MinJoon was a nice kid, it was just first impressions meant a lot. And MinJoon just happened to make an already terrible night at work even worse. His shift was so close to over at the convenience store when he had deiced to stroll on in with his guitar. Hyun couldn't even remember what he wanted to buy, all he could remember was the fact the display he had spent over two hours setting up suddenly came crashing down. As chap sticks and key chains rolled all over the floor, he wanted to strangle the kid. Why? It was his stupid guitar that knocked it over. Even better he tried to help, only to make everything ten times worse.

It didn't help that Hyun had gotten into an argument with his mother before going into work. He was already in a soured mood from being told that his ideas were childish and naive. All for saying that he wanted to have a complete family picture in their house. His Eomma was set on erasing any evidence that his Appa ever existed. He, on the other hand, still held out hope that his father was wrongly convicted. Which caused them to butt heads that evening. So the fact he was on edge made him that much more upset at the fact that this kid made him stay an hour over time and he had to go on a hunt for every little item and put it back in the right spot.

Had he forgiven the shrimp? Not in the slightest. If one thing was certain, Hyun was pretty good at holding grudges. He could tell he was would be this annoyed with MinJoon for a very, very long time. Though, not wanting to make a scene in front of the cafeteria, all he did was bow his head in the girl's direction, shooting MinJoon a glare that told him that he hadn't forgotten, or even forgave him. Hyun decided to take a seat away from MinJoon in an attempt to keep his temper. He ended up sitting next to Areum, the girl in the wheelchair who apparently scared people away. Was she, like, evil scary? One of those sweet on the outside but possessed by demons? Or the "nice" kind of scary? The excitable, talkative type that would be overwhelming. He would rather be talking to someone possessed by the devil himself that the latter. Though, he knew his luck was terrible.

He was then asked questions about clubs from DongHyun. Right. Hyun had considered signing up for the baseball team, but he thought that might be an issue. He knew a couple kids who played on leagues that could possibly play this school. If they recognized him, well, there went his restart. Then EunJi spoke up about the art club. Hyun wanted to snort at the thought of himself in the art club. Art was never really his thing. He had been a part of the photography club at his old school for less than a semester. Mostly because a girl he liked was in it. Now he knew that was dumb, but he had a tendency to make pretty stupid decisions. "I haven't decided yet. I can barely draw a stick figure, so I don't think the art club is for me. But thanks for the offer," He told the two, another close lipped smile directed to them. "I used to play baseball, but I didn't really like it that much." A complete and utter lie. He didn't want to seem like a social freak, but he also didn't want them to start pressuring him into playing again. A little white lie here and there never hurt anyone.

And that was it. Hyun wasn't exactly the small talk master. He'd answer your questions, but unless he was really engaged in the topic, he wasn't one to ask questions himself. He expected, based on context clues and their conversation up to this point, that DongHyun, EunJi, and Areum too wouldn't have a problem with picking up the slack. Hopefully this didn't get awkward. He wanted to be the loner, maybe even the cool loner, but definitely not the awkward loner.

Rena picks up to chopsticks again, to just slam them back down. Siyeon, tempted to be normal. As much as Rena would love that, being able to actually have sleepovers with her friends, and hang out, and do normal teen girl shit, hearing Siyeon give up her dream and passion was not something Rena ever wanted to hear. Rena gave her beloved best friend a look, her normal 'you know that's not happening because I won't let it happen' look before smiling and laughing because idol gossip was Rena's favourite.

You know, being an idol is not as amazing as it seems sometimes being normal sounds really tempting, but the dating world, while you are being an idol, is something, so you don't hear from me, but do you know that girl from this group eternity? The one who is the youngest and appeared on a drama, not too long ago, well she is dating the leader of 4VX, but if they are trying to hide it they are doing a terrible job. If they get caught, is over for both of them since the guy is like 20 and the girl is like 16, that's the most exciting thing that happened while I was away"

Rena had to think for a second, she wasn't super good at remembering idols, but 4VX was familiar to her, because she actually loved their music, and met them a few times through one of her brother's friends. "No way," She had started before she remembered the girl Siyeon was talking about. "Holy shit, like the girl with the pink and purple hair? Really short? Freckles? The stupidly pretty one? That girl is dating the leader!?" She yelled in a hushed tone, clearly blown away. "Whoa, they'are so doomed oh my god. Which sucks, cause the leader is Riku right, the really hot guy? Suuuuper tall? Like ungodly obnoxiously tall?"

She was being over the top, which was normal in situations like this, Rena had an interest in the looks of people and idols. Mostly because she really enjoyed judging the looks of idols, and knowing she could style them better than the real stylist. Which is why she wanted to Intern at Siyeons company as a stylist, but her own parents said no, and swept her away to intern at their family company. Which made sense, but not much when she wouldn't even be the one inheriting the company.

She would have picked up her chopsticks again, but there was a voice she wasn't fond of. "Hey! Minjoon! Come and sit with us! It would be fun!"

Rena nodded along to Siyeons words, "Why that girl and her friend on the wheelchair have to be so loud? Sometimes I wish I could erase that smile from her faces"

Rena looked at her friend and smiled. "I mean, we could, go over there, and ruin their time together. They're causing a scene, and being noisy. Lunch Period is meant to be nice and relaxed, why do they have to yell? Just go up to them and get their attention." Rena raised her voice, to reply to Eunji. "We shouldn't have to hear you across the cafeteria!" She spoke, rolling her eyes. "People who distrust others time shouldn't be allowed to sit in the cafeteria.

Minki and Mingyu finished their lunch quickly. Mingyu sat there with an arm around his brother, while scrolling thing his phone, and MInki was peaceful, he had a leg swung over his brother's lap, and was resting his head back against his brother's arm. They were quiet until MInki broke the silence. "I think we should head to the cafe, I know we've eaten, but we shouldn't always hideout, might make you look bad"

Mingyu just laughed, "hanging out with my twin, is the least likely thing to make me look bad, or strange in any light. This isn't the 1900's, where being close with a family member was perceived as incest, despite well, you know, incest being well practised in pretty much all households at the time."

MInki just looked at his twin, that fact that Mingyu even dared to bring up the word incest when referring to the two of them shocked the younger boy. Not because there clearly is nothing normal and non-incestual between them. It was more so, hearing Mingyu go off being the golden twin again."Riiiight Min. So, come with me then" He started to whine, jumping up and tugging at his twin's arm.

Mingyu grinned and rolled his eyes. "When don't I want to go hang out with you, or spend time with you." He moved easily reaching for Minkis hand and grabbing onto it. "Where you go, I will follow, and vice versa."

"For you are me, and I am you."

"Together, until we are rewriting,"

"Our Destinies"

Both the boys smiled and laughed, it was like their little promise to each other, a little thing put together, of songs they enjoyed and phrases that were important to them. This was them in all their glory together, the Lim Twins, in all their brotherly-love and adoration, with hands being clasped together, the boys picked up their mess and walked off towards the cafeteria.

They entered slowly as if it was some drama opening. They always did that, the Lim Twins were always on some weird shit, with Mingyu thinking so highly of himself, and Minki so blinded by the adoration that he just followed along like nothing. A lost puppy at this brothers side in the end. MInki was the one looking around the room at people, soon laying eyes on Eunji, and Areum, people he was aware of and did enjoy spending time with. He enters at the end of Rena's sentence so he wasn't sure who the girl was addressing, but he was quick to draw his sibling with him. Greeting the people at the table, with a big smile. Minki was a people person, and people like Areum, Eunji, Donghyun and all of them, where people he liked.

"Hey!" He spoke happily, hoping he wasn't interrupting anything. "How's the gang? And the new faces, how is everyone!"

Unlike his twin, Mingyu just nodded and gave a small smile to everyone. He wasn't exactly fond of everyone, but he'd put up with them for his brother.

Mood - CRUSH ALERT

Toy accepted the slight weight of Areum on him. She was one of the sweetest people around and if anything he was slightly happy at least one person decided to talk to him. Still he was upset. "All my effort is wasted," Toy lamented, "I can never get what I want." The fact that his band, his pride and joy, one of the things he could look forward to at the weekends, wasn't allowed to perform at school was upsetting. The amount of effort he put in to try and get better at the drums whilst him and his friends tried convincing the schools to allow them to perform was heartbreaking, soul crushing and down right destroyed him. He had already decided he was going to be like this all day.

That was until the twins showed up. Shooting up from his hunched positions, he flattened his hair and made sure he was smiling whilst his eyes said otherwise. Even an idiot could tell Toy was enamoured with those two boys when they popped out of no where like that. He could barely contain his emotions and acted more like a dongsaeng than the hyung he actually was. Even in Thailand honorifics existed and if he was aware that he acted like a Nong rather than a Phi, he'd be very embarrassed. Why did it have to be them, he tended to wonder. Why a pair of twins and not any other random teen in this high school? It was complicated. Mingyu and Minki. Minki and Mingyu. They were his Kryptonite.

Minki had an aura of super sweetness that illuminated around him that Mingyu didn't have as much of but the levels of suaveness that erradiated off of the latter twin could kill a man. This sentence alone was what made Toy frustrated. How could they both be so handsome yet have different but equally charming personalities. Nevertheless it made Toy internally combust when seeing both together. One was fine but two were deadly and always being together didn't help so place your bets on who's dying inside. DING DING DING! We have a winner.

In response to seeing them together all the time and the off chance that at least one of them might be gay, he always tries to give a good impression when around them. This includes kicking ass at the drums, presenting as a good person at all times and trying not to screw up when speaking in Korean. He hopes that anything and everything he does helps. It's not like he had much control over their opinion at the end of the day. All in all, he was seated nicely trying not to stare too hard at the twins, hoping they won't find him completely off putting.

playing: i'm so tired... (cover) by oh minjoon
Oh man. Minjoon felt bad that Eunji was getting called out by another girl. It almost made him second guess himself and wonder if he should just up and leave so his work mate wouldnโ€™t get into any more heated discussions with other students. Butโ€ฆ Alasโ€ฆ he was seated now. I suppose all he could do now was try and forget the stab Rena had thrown at Eunji and push away that feeling in the pit of his stomach that was trying to convince him that everything Rena said to Eunji was his fault for just existing to begin with.

Neatly placing the cover to his food aside, Minjoon picked up his chopsticks and began to slowly move the bibimpap around in its little bowl to inspect which ingredients were hidden inside for today. That was until he heard Eunji speak in his direction. Wait... was she talking to him? Gradually, he brought his gaze from the food below him to look at the girl he worked with. A slightly confused complexion grew upon his face; I mean, who would want to try and start up a conversation with him in the first place, right? Thatโ€™s what confused him the most.

He went to open his mouth to speak but paused. Because Areum was calling out to Toy โ€“ and claiming that she would hug it better. His dark, wide eyes gazed from Eunji to Areum, his mouth hanging slightly as his mind began to go into overdrive. Areum had never said to him that sheโ€™d hug it better. He wasnโ€™t sure what it was, but she had never offered it before. Was it a slight pant of jealousy? 100%. Was there anything he could do about it? Wellโ€ฆ no. Because he didnโ€™t have the balls to do anything about it. So, instead, he swallowed thickly and brought his gaze back to the girl sitting next to him.

Right. Work.

Once again, he went to open his mouth once more to explain how work was โ€“ and once again, Areum was the cause for his mouth to become dry as she spokeโ€ฆ About the sweetest kid and how she wanted to pinch his cheeks. Goddammit. Why was she like this? Minjoon could feel his heart race as he watched the girl gush for two reasons; the first reason beingโ€ฆ wellโ€ฆ once again, he was jealous. And the other reason being wasโ€ฆ it was Areum. She was justโ€ฆ She was Areum. He didnโ€™t know how to explain it. But she seemed to have some sort of effect on him, no matter if he liked it or not. And my Lord, she was doing it again. Trying to kill him by looking at him and asked him a question. He thought his heart was racing before, well my god. It was going crazy right now.

โ€œOhโ€ฆ I-iโ€ฆ. I-uhโ€ฆโ€ Minjoon began, stammering over his words as he tried to create some sort of sentence to speak out. He had in fact worked last night. It was his normal full shift as per usual before going out afterwards to busk in Hongdae. He had meant to work on the coffee machine for the shift, being one of the few trained baristas for the contraption. However, as soon as he saw Areum come through the doors, he wanted to yeet himself. Eunji was usually here to protect him from these sorts of situations. But with the girl not here for the shift, it would mean that he would have to speak to Areum on his own. He was not prepared for that at all. So, instead, he spoke to his manager and said to the man that he had a bit of a stomachache and wondered if he could swap to cleaning duties instead. His manager, who had been going soft on him since his Appaโ€™s passing, agreed and Minjoon spent the rest of his shift cleaning up the kitchen and dishes.

Thank God he didnโ€™t have the opportunity to finish off that uncompiled sentence; because Dong-Hyun returned with somebody and was introducing them. Minjoonโ€™s dark eyes travelled from Areum only to findโ€ฆ Oh Jesus Christ. Was the Lord trying to strike him down today? Was he trying to give him a heart attack? Because it was working. He felt his blood run cold as he felt Hyun-Wooโ€™s glare piercing at him. As Hyun made his way over in his direction, Minjoon felt like a deer caught in headlights; frozen and eyes wide. He painfully watched as the boy walked over to his side, praying to God that he wasnโ€™t about to have his face punched in by the dude. And so, when Hyun took hold of the chair and moved it to sit next to Areum, all Minjoon could do was release a soft sigh of relief. Thank God. His face was going to stay intact today.

Why did he decide to sit at the table today?

Once again, Minjoon brought his gaze down at his food once more. Hunched over, he decided that it would be best to just focus on his food. Chopsticks in his hands, he began to continue mixing his rice, meat and vegetable dish combination in a slow snail-like pattern. Hearing everyone talk about clubs and justโ€ฆ the presence of Hyunwoo and Areumโ€ฆ Minjoon could feel his stomach starting to turn. The food before him which he had been craving and desiring for throughout the whole day was starting to make him feel sick. He knew this feeling. He wasnโ€™t getting sick sick. But more likeโ€ฆ sick from emotion. Sick from beingโ€ฆ well, afraid. It was in the pit of his hollow stomach, trying to drag it down as far as possible.

And to add the topping onto the dessert, theseโ€ฆ twins popped out of nowhere. Now, Minjoon knew these twins. But he was always scared that he was going to get them mixed up and call the other one by a different name โ€“ causing them to get offended. Which was not what he wanted to do. Therefore, he kept his distance from the pair of them. But here they were, standing before him and greeting them (well, at least one of them was, while the other just nodded and gave a smile). Jesus Christ. Why was the world out to get him today? Okayโ€ฆ Okayโ€ฆ Remain calm. Swallowing thickly once more, Minjoon simply gave the boys a small bow of the head to acknowledge them before looking back down at his food. He didnโ€™t even want to eat it anymore. Heck, even if he tried, it felt like he was going to vomit it all up again. And that would not be pretty; especially in front of the girl that he liked, and the boy that seemed to be hell-bent on making his life absolute torture.

yoon
dong-hyun.
Seeing the way Eunji was looking at Hyun-woo, Dong-hyun already had an idea of what she thought of him. Well, he wouldn't have a problem with it if she developed a crush on him, but considering that she was the type to fall head over heels in love without much thought, it was only natural for him to worry about her. But then again, Hyun-woo seemed like a nice enough guy. Maybe he was trustworthy. After all, Eunji was already grinning ear to ear just from being in his presence.

Ah, he was getting lost in his thoughts again. He tuned back into the conversation, listening to Hyun-woo talk about clubs. "...so I don't think the art club's for me. Thanks for the offer though."
"If you're not into art, that's fine. But don't worry about not being able to draw. I know a guy who wouldn't be able to draw if his life depended on it, but he makes insanely good sculptures." said Dong-hyun. He nodded when Hyun-woo mentioned baseball. "Well, if you didn't like baseball you could try another sport. I play tennis, but honestly our coach is kind of scary..." He said, thinking back to the never ending drills they did. Sometimes it felt more like the military than a club, "But if worst comes to worst, you can always join the going home club." Well, it wasn't quite a club, but rather it was just what the people who weren't in any clubs liked to call themselves. Sometimes he thought they were the people who had the most fun. After all, what's the point in being young if you're all work and no play? But he wasn't one to talk โ€” his whole life was work.

Dong-hyun picked up his chopsticks to start eating. Rice, jjajangmyeon, kimchi, and watermelon, all in little compartments on his metal tray. He liked when there was fruit on the lunch menu. He had a bit of a sweet tooth. School meals were something he always looked forward to because at home, everyone was so busy that cooking wasn't really a priority. A lot of the time they got by on instant ramen. He always felt sorry that he wasn't a very good cook, especially when he saw how skinny the twins had gotten. At times like that, he wished his mother was still around. But at least they could eat good food at school. He hoped they were eating well. He knew Jae-hyun was independent enough that he could get on just fine by himself, but the since others were so young, he couldn't help but worry about them, even when he wasn't with them.

As he was about to dig into his food, a voice rung across the room. "We shouldn't have to hear you across the cafeteria!" Dong-hyun craned his neck around, looking for the owner of that voice, only to meet eyes with Rena. His gaze flitted between her and the people he was sitting with for a second, before he turned back to the group, somewhat flustered. "Is she talking to us?" He asked, pointing up at himself. He turned around again to wave a hand at Rena and Siyeon. "Sorry if we bothered you! We'll be quieter!" Finally, he turned back to face the group. Ouch. All that looking around made his neck sore. He rolled his neck and shoulders before picking up his chopsticks again, until another interruption appeared.

The twins were a pair who naturally drew attention when they entered a room, so when they walked through the open doors, Dong-hyun raised his eyes to meet them. "I'm doing good. But how come you two only showed up now? Did you go somewhere?" He asked. After all, most people didn't come in halfway through lunchtime. But then again, Minkyu and Minki did have a penchant for dramatic entrances.

Now that everyone was together, the previously near-empty table had become pretty crowded. "Are we having a party or something...?" He asked, more to himself than anybody else. It was funny how him, Eunji, and Areum always managed to drag everyone around them into their conversations. Having such bubbly friends sure made life interesting. Having them around made him feel like maybe he could shine as brightly as them one day, even if darkness was in his nature.

Just as Eunji was already dreaming how it would be to have Hyunwoo in the art club, he brought her back to reality with his reply "I haven't decided yet. I can barely draw a stick figure, so I don't think the art club is for me. But thanks for the offer" he seemed really set on his idea and she was sure not even Donghyun words would make him change his mind, but not having Hyunwoo in the art club wouldn't be the end of the world, there was for sure something they would be able to do together.

"I used to play baseball... but the mention of those words made Eunji's imagination go crazy again, she thought it would be cute to go and cheer him up, she could even make him a special lunch that would make him happy, she was already thinking on all those adorable moments when she heard the rest of the sentence ...but I didn't really like it that much that last part made Eunji come back to reality, Hyunwoo was really making it difficult so that they could share a cute and adorable moment together.

But the good Donghyun came to the rescue again "Well, if you didn't like baseball you could try another sport. I play tennis, but honestly, our coach is kind of scary..." maybe Hyunwoo could like another sport "Tennis is a fun sport too! Donghyun is really good at it, he always looks cool when he is practicing or in a match" she added excitedly.

"We shouldn't have to hear you across the cafeteria!" as soon as she heard the voice of Rena, she felt embarrassed, did she really talk that loudly? She knew her voice got higher when she was excited but she didn't do it to annoy anyone, it was something she couldn't control and just like every time Donghyun came to her rescue telling Rena they would be quieter, Eunji wasn't sure what she would do if Donghyun wouldn't help he when she got in trouble. She looked at her tray and the food she got at noticed she also had fruit but she had chosen apple, it was her favorite fruit and as much as she liked it, she decided to give it to Donghyun as a thank you gift for helping her when she made Rena upset "Here, I know you like sweet stuff, so you can have my fruit" she said to her friend as she placed the fruit on his tray.

Just as she finished placing all the fruit on Donghyun's tray the twins arrived at their table, Minki greet them happily while Mingyu just greeted them on a cool way, Minki asked them how everyone was and Donghyun replied to his question "You can always join us! I'm sure if we sit closer to each other we can all sit together on the same table, you guys don't mind, right? I think it would be fun if we all get to spend lunch together" she said to the rest that was sitting on their table.

Siyeon started eating her lunch as soon as she broke the news of the idol couple to her best friend, both groups were quite known in the industry so having their relationship be out in the public wouldn't make most of their fans happy, she could already picture all the fans that would get their heartbroken because their idol was dating someone, love and dating were already troublesome and in Siyeon's mindset, it was just a burden so adding that to the fact that they were idols complicate things even more.

It didn't take long until Rena realized who she was talking about, and as Siyeon was expecting her best friend was completely blown away by the discovery of the new couple "Holy shit, like the girl with the pink and purple hair? Really short? Freckles? The stupidly pretty one? That girl is dating the leader!?" Rena yelled in a hushed tone, but still, Siyeon hushed her friend "I know it's shocking but don't react like that, I don't want people finding out and start spreading fake rumors about me being spreading their relationship status" she said to Rena, before taking a bite of her lunch.

"Yeah, Riku is the leader of that group, it was so annoying we all had comebacks around the same time so we used to see each other in music shows, and our waiting room was close to their waiting rooms and their love alarms would ring all the time we get you like each other no need to remind us every five minutes it was so annoying I wanted to go and break their cellphones"

Siyeon turn to see the reaction of the girl who Rena told to keep quiet, her honest opinions were one of the things she liked Rena in the same place it didn't take long until the guy next to her which name was Donghyun apologized in behalf of Eunji and tell them they would be quieter, Siyeon could identify almost everyone at that table, the loyal puppy Donghyun, Eunji the clown, Areum the wheelchair girl, Minjoon the crybaby, Toy the foreigner, the I'm too cool for you Mingyu and the annoying shadow that was Minki but there was a stranger in that table that Siyeon couldn't identify was he a new student or was he just too boring that she didn't notice that he studied there "Who is the guy, that is next to Areum is he new or something?"

It was soon after she called over to him, that Toy came to sit next to her. She pulled him into a tight hug. Areum loved hugs when she was sad. She also loved hugs when she was happy, or even angry. She just loved hugs in general. She frowned as the boy began to whine about not getting anything he wanted. The girl wasn't 100% sure what had happened. All she knew was he was sad. "I'm sorry," She responded, "Maybe fate already has an even better surprise for you and couldn't let you have all the luck." With that, she was content with herself.

One arm still over the other boy, she rejoined the group conversation just as HyunWoo was explaining baseball. She could tell based off of how the boy kept defecting EunJi and DongHyun's comments that he wanted to avoid the conversation of clubs. As DongHyun finished his little recruitment session, and EunJi added something about DongHyun looking cool playing tennis, Areum decided to try and save HyunWoo from the current conversation topic. "So, HyunWoo, where are you from?" She asked with a bright smile. It was then that Rena decided to yell across the cafeteria, cutting the new boy off from finishing the sentence he was about the start.

She waved over at her with an apologetic smile as DongHyun responded to her. Areum knew that Rena was sometimes more on the...grumpy side of things. She wished there was some way to get closer to the girl to try and help her. She had learned that normally people are grumpy because of something else going on in their lives. Areum was easily upset and angry after her accident. It wasn't until she accepted it and moved on that she felt better. So many Rena had something in her life that made her the way she was. It was just figuring it out and helping her through it that was the hard part. Areum knew that it probably wouldn't be herself to do it. But she never knew.

Before she could go back to the conversation she had just started with HyunWoo, here came more to add to their little lunch party. It was the Lim twins joining them in the middle of lunch. Thinking of which, she had yet to start eating with all the yacking she was doing. It was helpful that at the appearance of the twins, that Toy sat up, freeing her hands. She grabbed her chopsticks as EunJi invited the two to join them and DongHyun said something about it being a party. "Lucky for them," She started, speaking in Donghyun's direction, "I happen to love parties." It wasn't every day that all the different clicks of people got together. It was always fun when coincidences like this happen.

It was when she moved from looking over at the twins to go back to her lunch that she noticed MinJoon. His face screamed 'I'm uncomfortable'. She felt bad. Did he not like his lunch? Did someone at the table make him uncomfortable? She began to wonder how she could help. There wasn't anything that was coming to her mind at the moment. The cafeteria was so crowded at this point, there wasn't very many other places to sit by yourself in he wanted to. By that time, she realized she had been staring, probably for too long. Areum decided that in that moment, there wasn't much she could do. Being with people was probably good for him, she always felt better when she was with people, so it was possible that everyone felt that way. With that thought she returned her attention to her lunch. Oh, right. Her conversation with HyunWoo. "Where were we? Ah, that's right! Hometown, go!" She told the boy next to her with a bright smile, before shoving a mouth full of food into her face while waiting for an answer.
