Care Bears... prepare to stare!
Chapter One
Dog Days of Summer

Summer was upon the camp, filled with half bloods and creatures all alike. Upon Half-Blood Hill a grimy figure appeared over it's reaches. His golden eyes pierced it's surroundings. Koda took cautious steps down the hill, occasionally hiding behind trees. He stared as he watched people his age and people older than him carry weapons, and seem genuinely happy.

What was this place? What was a camp doing in the mortal world? His eyes narrowed as tried his best to blend in. Even summoning his sword. He looked almost in place. Other than the torn clothing, dirty skin and messy hair. He looked like your typical street rat. No one seemed to care he was there, he wondered why that was. He picked up the smell of food and headed towards it. If he could steal some food he could flee for it and head into that nice looking forest.

A throat clearing caught his attention. He whipped his head around and saw a boy in a black hoodie sitting by the fire in the clearing of some sort. "You aren't from this camp are you?" he looked at Koda. The wolf boy was on defense and narrowed his eyes at the boy. "Calm yourself, I'm Aiden. Sit." he said and pretty much pushed him down to sit. "I'm going to have to tell that you are here. I hope you know that." he said and placed an apple in Koda's hands.

It seemed that he didn't have to wait long, he heard hooves galloping. Soon Koda looked up and saw a half horse-half man looming over him. Koda's flight or flight senses kicked in. He rolled to the side and got into a crouching position and growled, his teeth bared. He put his sword into a fighting position. "I don't know where I am, but I'm not gonna get taken captive. I'll attack everyone if I need to." he narrowed his eyes.

    Eryn glanced behind them to make sure that the creature that was following them, wasn't nipping at their heels when they reached the camp barrier. While she wasn't from Camp Half-Blood, she had been to it before, she had been on a mission back in her home country when she came across her companion. Whom she could barely make out in front of her as she sped ahead, almost like a blur.

    Whoever this kid's godly parent was, had one heck of a child who couldn't be older then 10 or something, but had the silence and stealth of a trained assassin with how quiet she was and how fast she moved. She remembered how she had almost sliced the girl's head off because she had managed to creep up on the older girl. It wasn't hard to figure out that she was just like her, a demi-god. A child born between a mortal and a god, in most cases anyways.

    Eryn shook her head as she focused, stopping a few feet away from the barrier as she pulled her bow off of her back and quickly slotted an arrow into the string before firing it, her eyes glowing faintly before the glow quickly travelled down her arm and into the arrow giving it the power to strike her target. She smirked a tiny bit as she heard the satisfying roar of pain that came from the creature before firing another shot for good measure. She just hoped that the younger girl wouldn't have any problems here.. especially since she could have easily brought her to Camp Jupiter instead.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Blanca was grateful for the escort to the Camp that her mother had briefly mentioned to her just before her thirteenth birthday, while the other girl could have just led her to any silly place and told her that the camp was just over the ridge somewhere, she would have believed her. While she was a bit terrified when she spotted something that just didn't look quite right while they were getting off the bus in New York City, she was glad that Eryn knew what to do.
    Eryn had seen something she hadn't and quickly ushered the other girl with her into a hotel and kept a hand on her shoulder to lead her away, and while normally she would have questioned why some strange girl was guiding her somewhere, she had learned to pick up a thing or two about noticing something was off especially with the air. It had felt a bit tense until they had managed to lose whoever was tailing the pair before Eryn introduced herself and offered to buy her lunch when they were in Ireland.
    So the two stuck together, Blanca having asked for her help to get to the Camp with the symbol of a winged horse, a pegasus. While she hadn't seen the symbol on the sign of the arches that she had bolted through, she had a feeling of relief as she managed to skid to a stop, leaning over to catch her breath before turning excitedly to see that Eryn wasn't behind her. Worry flooded her before she notice the symbol on many campers' shirts and seemed to bounce a bit, excitement dancing in her silvery-blue eyes.
    She had made it!
A fluttering of wings caught Spencer's attention and he glanced up from the small drawing notebook he held just as the bird too off. "Dammit" he said under his breath as he closed the book on an unfinished sketch as he looked around to see why it had hurried off so quickly. He glanced down at the girl who had just come running out of the bushes into the camp. "First one of the day I guess.." Spence said quietly as he opened the book again and rapidly drew out a multitude of butterflies.
The drawing slowly lifted themselves from the page as Spencer drew and fluttered down towards the girl. Slowly encircling her in a small storm of beautifully drawn butterflies which fluttered around her to get her attention. "Up here." Spencer said loud enough to be heard as he pulled his hood and bandana off of his face. He closed the book he was holding and waved to the girl. "I assume you're a demigod, right.." he said sluggishly as he sat up on the tree branch waiting to hear from the girl.
Hannah stuttered to herself as she hurried past a group of campers milling around the outside of the infirmary as she looked around trying to find Chiron. She had been looking for him all day and had gotten lost about 15 times trying to do so. She still hadn't found her way around the place during the week she had been there and the only person she was willing to attempt to talk to was the half man Half horse person who had greeted her at the gates.
She caught a glimpse of his form crossing the camp and she hurried quickly after him "please wait up" she thought as she stumbled again, nearly face planting on the ground. "I-I need to talk to you.." she hurried by as a few campers glanced in her direction, some with faces of anger or distrust. She had demonstrated her powers after a serious training accident and ever since then people had occasionally called her "Blood Witch" behind both her and Chiron's back. She hated it, but she never said anything. She was too scared to fight back at times and didn't want to make anything worse between her and the other campers.
She rounded a corner and saw Chiron approaching a campfire where two boys were located, one looked familiar to her. It the other didn't. "Ch-Chiron s-sir!" She said as the smaller boy drew his blade and looked ready to attack at any second. Shocked, Hannah tried to stop herself but ended up falling face first onto the ground. She quickly sat up scared of what would happen as he stared at the small wild looking boy in fear. She had heard some of what he had said but the words 'attack everyone' rang in her ears as she sat unmoving in terror.
Brooke Weisz
It's been a while since Brooke has had a good night's sleep. But that doesn't change the fact that he still woke up at quarter to five in the morning. He got out of bed and headed to the amphitheatre to get some stretching and exercise in, all the while stifling a yawn.
It was a good day for a stroll but Brooke's stomach wasn't one to let down when it's hungry. After a few minutes of walking, he smelled it. The food, and he also spotted his opposite in all things godly, Valdis. Brooke hurried over to Valdis, a plate full of food already in his hands. "If it isn't Valdis." He sat on the ground opposite to the other and threw an apple at Valdis. "You gotta eat to stay strong, buddy." Stated Brooke as he wiggled his eyebrows. He took a huge bite of the pear. "Mmhhmm... Scrumptious and sweet."
"Goodmorning, you're all so pretty today!" Exclaimed Elfaba as she watered the plants with a smile. She used a bit of her powers to keep the flowers prim and beautiful. Elfaba would've continued in tending to the garden when Chiron passed by without a second glance followed by the new blood Hannah. "Something must be wrong if Chiron is hurrying off somewhere." Elfaba whispered to herself. She got up and followed the two, not caring about her muddy hands at all.
Still trying tk catch up to the two, Elfaba could see a crowd forming by the campfire. Chiron parted the crowd as if he was swimming while Elfaba had some trouble getting through. By the fire was Aiden with a boy no younger than twelve was filled with rags and dirt. Elfaba didn't notice Hannah already by the ground and bent down to help her looking terrified. In all honesty, Elfaba didn't understand what was going on. She barely heard anything of what they were talking about. "Are you okay?" She settled on trying to help Hannah than to ponder why the boy was holding a blade and looks ready to kill. She was pretty sure that if worst were to happen they'd be safe since Chiron is there and there are plenty of demigods who were there.
    Valdis managed to catch the Apple so it didn't end up hitting him in the head like he knew would probably happen. "Well well well, if it isn't Lucky Rabbit Foot himself. Glad to be done your 'good deed' for the day?" He asked with a snort as the other took a bite out of a pear that he had, making him glance down at the Apple in his hand before taking a bite. "So... what's the plan today?"
Chiron approached the boy with a kind smile. The boy gripped his sword tighter and glared distrustfully. "My Child, it is alright. You're safe, none of us will hurt you." he tried to calm him. It seemed to be working. "You are in Camp Half-Blood, a safe place for demigods. I'm assuming since you got in here you are a demigod." he gave Koda some time to reply. Koda seemed visibly a bit calmer, he had dropped his sword and it melted into the shadows. Of course Chiron took note of that.
Koda straightened up. "Yeah, daddy said something about that." he looked to the side and scratched his head. "Sorry." he said in a low whisper. He looked over to the girl on the ground and frowned "I didn't knock her over...did I?" he said in a worried tone. Chiron came over and placed his hand on Koda's shoulder. "What is your name?" he asked. Koda looked up at the centaur. He'd really have to get used to that. "I'm Koda Beaumont." He answered. "I promise I wont hurt anyone. Wouldn't you do the same if you just stumbled into a strange scary place with people with weapons." he huffed.
Chiron ignored that last part. "Seeing as you've seen part of the camp by.." he cleared his throat "sneaking around. Perhaps you'd like to find someone to show you around?" he asked.
Diana ran her hand down the back of her pegasus Blackstar, he was a soot colored beast with bright blue eyes and a wing spand that made the other pegasuses pale in comparison. Blackstar was Diana’s closest companion, and the two were inseparable. “Let’s go for a ride.” She said hoping on his back and with that the beast broke into a gallop and a smirk twisted onto Diana’s face and the busted through the stable doors.
They took off into the sky and did a couple circles around the camp ground till Diana heard a ruckus by the entrance to the camp and the faint sound of Chirons voice. She steered Blackstar in their direction to see an unfamiliar young face a few familiar campers and Chiron. She was able to make out the conversation as she was landing down next to them.
They landed with a thud, and Blackstar reared up and smashing his front hooves into the earth below as Diana held on tightly. “
I’ll show him around Chiron.” She offered plainly. She reached out her hand to pull him up onto the back of her Pegasus. “Come on, kid, the best view is from the sky.” She said with a friendly but cool smile.
Spencer let out a small small towards the girl as he opened his book again as the butterflies flutter over. Landing on the page, the ink creations flattened back down and faded from the page leaving it blank. He closed the book and hopped down from the tree, landing a few feet from the girl.
Come on then” Spencer said as he placed the book in a pouch on his pants. “I suppose I have to take you to see the horse man”. Spence looked back at the tree as small dark shapes scurried towards him. “Oh! One sec.” he said kneeling down and pulling out a scroll from one of his pockets and opening it up wide.
Soon small dark rats scurries their way onto the paper of the scroll and flattened out. A small group of ten gathered before Spencer rolled the scroll up and twisted the bottom of the scroll open. “..... looks like one more maybe... I should let Lyn know to go see what’s going on.” He said rolling up the paper and tying it up. He pulled his sleeve up and quickly drew out a bird on his arm which sprung to life and took off, taking the paper with it. “You didn’t come here alone did you?” He said turning back to the girl. “Don’t worry. I let the person on patrol about them. Why not tell me your name so I don’t have to sputter when I have to introduce you to Chiron?
Lyn pushed through the bushes as she reread the oddly written note she had received from one of Spencer’s weird bird things. “This thing is stupid” she thought as she moved a branch out of her way “it’s like this thing was written by ADHD rodents.” She looked up as she was getting close to the location mentioned in the paper. She didn’t like being right outside of camp, it bothered her due to monsters often setting up ambushes right outside of camp. “I just wanted to go back to my room and dance to some new tuneS..” she grumbled out loud as she stepped through another bush causing quite a bit of noise “but instead I’m trudging through bushes.. ugh
She stepped into another bush, this time coming into a clearing and noticed another person. Lyn squinted her eyes as she could make out the figure as being very much a human. “Hey!” She called out as she hurried forward to the girl “it’s not safe out here. Come with me.” She slowed down as she grew close and noticed something odd about the girl, as if she’d seen her somewhere before..
Hannah turned at the sound of a new voice and nearly gave herself a panic attack when she opened her mouth to casually respond. She shut her mouth quickly and nodded oddly as her mind raced “d-don’t say anything Hannah!” She thought “she c-could be one of the people who talked about her behind her back... or she could be nice.. I don’t know!” Her breathing picked up as she remembered the boy who was threatening attack. She looked over as the boy dropped the sword and looked at her, she caught his comment and gave him a small shake of her head to say that he hadn’t tripped her. She turned to glance back at the girl as she stood up by herself. “S-s-sorry for making you talk to me..” she said softly for the girl to hear before bowing quickly and awkwardly hurry away from the crowd as she felt the eyes of everyone piercing into her making her feel even worse for being such a klutz during what could be a tense moment. As soon as she pushed trough the crowd she started running back towards the cabins not realizing that she had both forgotten to speak with Chiron and forgotten her personal locked journal which had fallen out of her back pocket when she had fallen on the ground. All she could think of was getting away from everyone who was glaring evil thought into her mind.
    Blanca blinks as she tilts her head, watching the other curiously. Her gaze focused on the way the butterflies disappeared onto the paper, her eyes widening a bit. She tilted her head before remembering Eryn was still out there. "Oh! Still one more out there, you mean Eryn? She'll be fine on her own.. She's really smart and helped me get here. If it vasn't for 'er ey vouldn't be here." She said while smiling as she laces her hands behind her back and rocked on the balls of her feet. She had no idea Eryn would probably have no interest in coming here especially since she had already been to camp before hand.
Valdis' statement was echoing in Brooke's head. He doesn't really have a plan for the day. Not like he needed one, he usually just wander around when there is no activity. He took a bite of his pear and looked at Valdis. Once he finishes it he opened his mouth then closed it after a second passed. He spoke while his brows were furrowed, "I'm not really sure. Maybe I'd join Elfy in her daily gardening." He ended on a higher note than intended because even he wasn't sure if he would find gardening enjoyable. "But if you have something in mind then I am totally game for anything." his stomach flipped when he said the word "anything" because if Valdis were to say that he wanted to go Sparring with the Ares kids or with Aurora then he'd already be dead, the cause of death would be a panic attack. It's not like he showed anyone this side of him.
Hannah suddenly was up and about, much to Elfaba's surprise. Hannah bowed and muttered an apology to Elfaba before walking away. "WAIT! That doesn't really answer my question!" She shouted after the brunette then scratched the back of her head in confusion. "I never knew anyone could be that shy."
Diana came down from her sky patrol and offered the kid a tour from the clouds. As the crowd dispersed Elfaba noticed a notebook, journal to be exact since there was a lock. "It... must be Hannah's. Which cabin is she from again?" Elfaba thought to herself, a bit ashamed to have forgotten who the other girl's mother is when she liked to think of her self as some sort of spreadsheet with all the names and godly parent of everyone in camp. Elfaba jogged towards the cabin, shouting for Hannah until she caught up to her. She wasn't hard to find since she was the only one going back to the cabin. "Hey, Hannah. You forgot your stuff." She said loudly before stopping in front of the girl with a big smile. "Sorry if I dirtied it a bit. I haven't had the time to wash my hands. It's because of the gardening."
Amir walked along the shore staring out across the water with a rather distracted expression. As they have many times before, thoughts of home drove Amir to be as close to it as currently possible. He thought of his family back home and the relatives he lost getting to camp, their sacrifices weighing heavy on him no matter the amount of elapsed time. And so Amir had returned to the sands pacing back and forth in the surf skipping rocks that returned with only the slightest bit of charming. So lost in thought was Amir that he almost missed the Pegasus soaring overhead. Observing the gentle spiral down Amir knew there had to b some commotion, and whatever it was he wanted no part of it. Of course there was another whose curiosity was not so easily quenched. "So I'm not the only one that noticed the commotion, good. we should go investigate, it seems that there are many hearts gathered in that direction." Amir looked at his ring, and while inanimate it seemed to look at him expectantly "No, I'm staying here as are you." Amir didn't need to look at his ring, the silence denoted it's disappointment. The ring always tried to put him into situations that would boost his strength, while it was useful in dangerous situations it was more of nuisance when he was safe. It was better to stay by the water, skipping stones over the rippling waves.
Dawn hadn't been out long, yet where she had come from she couldn't remember, everything seemed as if she were in a dream. The forest seemed surreal with the sunbeams breaking through the canopy and lighting up the leaves to a bright green. Dust and pollen swirled through on a breeze carrie through the light and away into the deep woods. Things were peaceful, unlike every dream ever. The fact that something wasn't plaguing her made Dawn worry, her steps became faster until the young woman was sprinting through the green. Fear replacing worry she ran as if carried on the wind streaking though the brush, dipping under low-hanging branches, and hurdling over thorny bushes. Despite her panic Dawn's inner self felt more in her element, finding a horrific comfort in running for her life. Admittedly Dawn was completely unaware of where she was or even where she was running to. All the girl knew was that she had to keep going, bolting up the side of a hill she left over it's crest carried by her own momentum. Having the foresight to keep her feet under her Dawn landed upright, and though the shock jarred every bit of her she was unable to focus on her fatigue. Captivated by the sight ahead of her, dawn slowly rose to her feet, taking in the sight of the camp before her something in her mind informed her that Dawn N'Daiye had indeed reached her mystery destination. Tottering forward it took a minute to find her step before she could take up her typical stride. The camp seemed interesting enough and there were some people there that even neared her age. The wistful expression on Dawn's face practically screamed newbie as the camp seemed to pull her in.
Dawn continued walking through her new surroundings her attention engulfed by the novelty of her situation, until a hand clamp onto her shoulder. Large and strong it squeezed painfully until Dawn felt her collarbone strained threatening to snap. Then she registered the voice shouting "HEY!" inhaling sharply Dawn spun around her silver eyes locking onto the....girl? Dawn froze a stunned expression took over her features her eyes searched the girl's face for any resemblance to the face she feared without knowing. As if it were final confirmation Dawn's gaze drifted slowly to her shoulder focussing on the petite hand that held on with a light grip. The girl continued to shout inquiring about her time "here" wherever here was, and to her name. "My...name? My name is Dawn. I just arrived and I do not know where or what "here" is. Please stop shouting." The girl in front of Dawn had a kind enough expression but her shouting had caused Dawn to edge back, hurriedly shrugging off her hand. Looking at the young girl Dawn's scrutiny was evident, she ain't sure how to feel or what would be appropriate but at this point she did not want to try anything. For some reason Dawn's hands clasped her necklace as if she were bracing for something, catching herself she released the pendant brushing her fingertips against it to reassure herself. Dawn couldn't help but wonder what this woman was going to do, while she was nervous nothing told Dawn about any immediate danger and so the internal process of collecting herself began pieces of her emotional shell falling into place.
"... nooooo, Zuko whyyy... I made that for you... again..."
"... I guess I can make another..."
