Welcome, to the new age. The planet has changed drastically over the course of thousands of years. Wars waged in ancient times shaped political influences and the result of empires being created. New forms of government, and entire spheres of influence were crafted. Magic was advanced and a distinction started to brew between those who follow technology and those who use magic. The world has been dramatically changed through magic however. Ancient wars tore apart the Earth, tearing up the old and creating anew, rendering alot of land in varying forms of recognition or none at all. however as time went on, through both natural and means conducted by magic during expansion to the old world, far more ancient creatures began to awaken while others were created and soon humanity and other sentient species of Europia that expanded outwards began to withdraw further inland from the further out continents. Through defensive warfare, political endeavor, and natural progression, technology and magic had several more revolutions. Technology became more widespread, as well as magic adapting to the new situation with varying resonance. All in the act of self defense of their interests and to survive.

Some nations losing their natural powers and having to rely upon artifacts or specific resources to create something more powerful, some retain what they had without error. Some nations banning magic entirely or just aspects of it due to fear of the old world, while others believed restricting it would be their downfall. Technological nations remaining independent from magical politics, or discovering a way to use both regardless of if taken to it's extreme or just to improve one or the other. As the times continued and even more nations rose and fell to political, war, or magical means, new nations and histories took their place. Some desire only to bring back the glory of nations since past, while others strive to create their own. In present day, the new nations have formed political ties to each other, neutrality, or a form of hostility. Enacting trade and political favors for survival, economical - personal benefit, or to grow in influence. While others remain entirely neutral to others for their own reasons. Technology has progressed greatly from older times, and magic has only grown to become adaptive and ever changing as well. While every nation had their own histories or created new calendars, some may even share a universal calendar. However the year listed on universal or continent wide calendars being marked as 1914.

Resonance is meant to be open to various styles, not preferring one spectrum of RPing over the other, while technically being traditional of a NB in the form of still supporting a story developed by the players. Allowing players to be diplomatic and focus on politics, allows self development of the nations and any character within, and still having the option of various forms of warfare down the line. Following similar vein as the original Resonance elsewhere, this RP is technologically and in terms of year around the first world war, but at a maximum if the RP goes long, to the second world war. The RP takes place on the continent of Europia, a similar yet split apart form of Europe. As the RP would progress, more of the world and the map would be increased for both new players, new options or events, and adds more to the world in the form of eco-system or new populations. Due to the RP being option based, every "distinction" one chooses can have their own pros and cons. A fully tech nation is not limited to just real life technology but has to be within reason or era, magic nations are not stereotypical levels of weak like some other NBs, and magi-tech can be split between improving existing technology or creating new technology. Along with this, magic is not entirely limited to resources either. Some could choose to require resources to use to utilize magic, while others could choose to have some abilities naturally or be both natural and requiring resources. Fully technological nations, though similar to other distinctions within logic, also do not have a genre cap. This means things like steampunk or dieselpunk, which is fitting as the original Resonance was WWI Dieselpunk. However things such as cyberpunk, futuristic, etc are still off the table due to not being consistent with the setting/era. This being to prevent people from spawning things like missiles, and trying to ruin everyone's day.

Also, the RP has no real preference to writing style. You could focus on developing relations and the nation, character and the nation, write what equates to novel-length posts, or write a paragraph at the very least. [Naturally being five lines.] What we are trying to go for here is a enjoyable experience for various types of RPing, while still remaining consistent and able to have some form of story, this naturally being done through player action and the history of their nations. The RP will consist of events later on in the RP which could range from mundane weather all the way to technological advancement or national issues. Some events, such as weather conditions, could also be utilized to affect any warfare later in the RP, forcing players to actually think about their own decisions and how to proceed rather than the standard rushing with no thought. The RP consists of various biomes which can vary between food, resources, and both. This would affect the abilities of a nation, while also being a natural goal in the overall world similarly to reality. A player could choose if need be to trade for resources and food, a player could try buying land from another nation, etc. Resources being tied to various other systems such as trading and technological production for example. This system being in place to prevent unnecessary or absurd restrictions on individual nations that are usually always inconsistent and never changing. Finally, there are also NPC states that can form in the world that any player and other NPCs can interact with. They will usually have their own posts and activities, and can give players a variety of more things to do. A player for example could choose to help them grow, use them for political means in a region, trade with, defend, and various more in the world. These NPCs will usually grow by themselves accordingly to the expansion system for players, and some NPCs or NPC nations can be related to events that can progress "global" technology.

Ending

Despite the IC itself starting far earlier, there were some delays and problems that had to be taken care of and new mechanics. But now the RP is more officially ready for any that is interested. The RP of course would always be open for new players, and any further questions can be asked in the OOC. This interest check is a bit more large than some I'd imagine, but felt like additional details would answer the questions more related to setting and RP function.
