Junior Researcher Malcom Wilson walked to his desk, past the janitor, the room's security, and his colleagues. He ignored their attempts at conversation,he didn’t have time to socialize so he got to work. Sample 3A was quickly destroyed by a solution of chemicals made to destroy dangerous projects if they got out of control. These weren’t usually used without authorization but he had managed to grab a vial of the solution while “Grabbing materials for project R3A” Of course it would likely never be finished. When the plan was finished.

He wouldn't be able to reach the earlier strands of the sample but the newest evolution would suffice. He grabbed a few samples of the strands nemesis, an experiment he had spent months on. He would deal with it later but for now he had to escape, quickly erasing his work and the proof of his actions in seconds. He shoved the remaining samples into his briefcase, into the lead lined storage area hidden from plain view, next to an old makarov pistol he had grabbed in case something went wrong. The test subjects would be next, but he had tasked that job to his assistant, a gas capable of eradicating life wouldn't be employed for that issue. He pulled his pager from his bag as he wrapped up his own part, before reading the message. Done.

Wilson gathered his belongings as he rushed out the door, before a guard stepped in front of him. "Doctor, the higher ups have requested you stay for a briefing." Wilsons eyes narrowed as he reached into his bag, before firing the weapon. Wilson sprinted down the halls as bullets flew past him, making sure he was behind as much cover as possible while getting close to the exit when he found it blocked. Someone must have sounded the alarm, and now the island's security department was on their way if they weren’t on duty before. He couldn’t fight off that many guards, with his little proficiency in fighting.
Wilson turned around as the security noticed him, firing on him as he ran for the roof. With no law enforcement other than those guards there would be no one to stop those guards for killing him. His keycard would only work for an hour before his already limited clearance would be revoked. His assistant wouldn’t be caught while he took the blame, something he was willing and ready to do, even die to destroy the sample. Wilson opened the door to the roof and ran for the edge. The guards quickly followed, cornering him on the side of the roof with their weapons raised. “Return the Sample Wilson, we have our orders to use lethal force if you don’t comply.” Lieutenant Vogue said, stepping forward as his men waited for Wilson to answer.
Wilson glared at Vogue as he pulled a sample he had grabbed from the lab, holding it over the edge. “If you shoot I drop this, and your orders are to secure the sample.” He said as he kept a hold on his own weapon, concealing it in the bag. “I’m not going to give you five seconds to throw your weapons aside and clear out and let me pass or I’ll do it, I swear.” He said as he trembled, staring down the barrel at the nearest rifle pointed. The guards reluctantly lowered their weapons after Vogue motioned them to do so, before Wilson threw the vial, bolting for the exit as he locked it behind them.
Lab personnel poured out of the lab, running for the island's hospital as the remaining security guards tried to contain the situation. The patients had been torn apart by something or someone, the morgue filling as each victim died hours after being admitted to the hospital. Even more of the victims ran home as they locked their families away, too shaken to tell what had happened. Each victim fell ill, their families doing their best to nurse their wounds. One hour after the fevers began, the victims fell into a coma, slowly losing all life before they flatlined. Traffic was full as families drove to hospitals to both treat their family members, despite their pleas to not take them, some taking them to the morgue. Traffic accidents occurred all over as the family’s dead and dying came back and began to tear their own families apart, the family's pleas falling on deaf ears as the mindless shells continued their rampage.

The Crimson Death: Genisis:
This is the second reboot for this RP, taking place on the manmade island owned by the Romea Island, owned by several private companies. The island was inhabited by the employees of the companys and their families, but twenty four hours ago, an outbreak occurred at the island research facility, the undead spreading all over the island as the security declared quarantine, guarding the docks and any way out.

This RP will have a lot of gore, language, etc so I would not expect a PG experience. Any interested should comment below, once we get enough the CS and Lore pages will he posted before finally the IC chat will be made. Feel free to ask any questions.

The Plot
At the moment, many things are happening around the island as the residents struggle to survive while other, odd things occur across the island.

World events will occur and time jumps that will effect other groups must be discussed in OOC chat.

Mercenaries: (4+ Players)
A team of Mercenaries from different backgrounds and nationality’s have been hired to: Secure the Western Security Station, Find several objects across the Island, and capture those responsible- Dead Or Alive.

Passengers: (2+ Players)
The Island is home to an efficient underground transportation system, running throughout the entire islands land. A group of players are stranded on board one of the train cars, the lowly employees working with the islands higher ups.

Flight 653 (2+ Players)
Shortly after the islands outbreak, a plane going overhead was suddenly and mysteriously crippled, a few passengers escaping onto their island, not knowing of the dangers they faced.

The Unwelcome Guest (2+ Players)
An unknown perpetrator has arrived on the island, hiring a few mercenaries to assist their motives, whatever they are.

The VIP (3+ Players)
One of the islands higher up’s finds himself stranded in the company’s HQ, most of his security detail dead as infected begin the slow interception of the building, his remaining security detail protecting him as they wait for evac.

Bump for updated Interest Check.

Of course normal survivors will still be available like office drones, researchers, security guards, etc.

The original group had an optional discord channel and I will link that after I make some modifications for the new system.

What have we here? Zombies you say. I may have a survivor or two i could plot in. Perhaps a Mercenary, or an unwelcome Guest?

Your choice, hired by the company that created the virus or an unknown person

Preferably an unknown person. The merc will be a fairly deadly individual but not irrationally evil or without ability to be negotiated with. I would ask that he have a fairly definitive goal, even if its one i must keep secret.

Mr. Monteque

The "Client" has a goal, but his mercenaries may have their own agenda.

Infected types:
The Shambler is the result of the chemical agent Z-24 that is derived from the scarlet undeath. Any contact with deceased human flesh will reanimate.

The infected are slow and unintelligent. The infected can bite or scratch to infect survivors. The infected dwell in hordes and are fairly durable.
The Runner is the result of a victim of the Scarlet undeath dying from the disease. The infected can remember memories from their past and use these against survivors

Infected with firearms training are able to use firearms to a degree, along with other skills from their previous life. Like all infected, they require food to survive and will even eat Ferals and Shambler to survive.

The fights between the three main factions are common, usuallly in the form of two or more hordes fighting and even avoiding survivors.
The Ferals are the result of a more rabid version of the original strain, and one of the more dangerous creatures to encounter.

ferals are able to run at extreme speeds when they detect uninflected or infected from different factions. When no food is detected they will remain in a dormant state until their designated scouts detect food. The scouts will begin sounding the alarm: a disturbing combination of screaming and laughing. This is only one of the animal like behaviors they exhibit.
The banshee is the result of a feral being exposed to loud noises during its transformation. The Banshee is generally passive until it detects any noise, wandering to the source. The Banshee is able to scream at incredible decibels, able to disorient survives and attract more infected
The Goliath is a feral with high muscle mass that grows exponentially following its transformation. The Goliath is slow but can take on nearly limitless amounts of damage.
The infernal are infected exposed to natural gases during or before its transformation, making them explode upon death or if triggered by flammables, bullets, extreme heat, or self detonation
The Minic is an infected with mutated vocal chords, possessing the ability to mimic voices from survivors. The mimic will tear out t throat of its victims to mimic their screams for help.
The diver is an infected with mutated lungs, allowing them to hide in bodies of water for an unlimited amount of time, able to detect vibrations in the water to pounce in an unsuspecting survivor.
A decoy isn’t necessarily an infected, but one taken by a pack of Ferals. Through an unknown process, the victim will lose all vocal abilities and lose most brain functions. These are docile, attracted by noises associated with humans. These provide both reconnaissance and a distraction for a pack.
The Ice man is an infected that hides among snow and ice, able to spring from its wintery hiding place without warning. The sandman has simaler tactics but in desert environments.
The rotter is an infected that has sustained severe damage to the point of hiding: in Body Dumps, Dark Places, or playing dead only too grab and bite any unlucky survivor.
The Skinwalker is an intelligent Feral that captures a survivor, usually from a large group and slowly and carefully use sharp objects to skin the victim alive before donning the skin. The Skin Walker uses their gruesome disguise and their limited intelligence to emulate their victim, occasionally using a Mimic to assist with the illusion.
The Crawler is a version of the rotter, but instead of hiding in the shadows, they crawl through the abandoned cities.
The Nomad is a Feral that instead of joining a pack of its fellow Scarlet strand infected wander the woods and any place distant from civilization. The Nomad is a terrifying creature, large but intelligent to emulate any of the survivors it encounters in the woods, watching them for days before learning to use their tools and even camps to lure survivors.
