Project: Icarus
Year 846 AOR
Mission: 02
Objective: Reproduction
Status: Briefing

Project Icarus is the second of its kind. There have been many projects over the years, but never any such as these. Earth had died long ago, but now there was talk of moving back. Of it being safe. So in year 806 AOR, the Colonies of Olympus Rising, sent a team of one thousand people to take the week's journey back to Earth and ready it for human life. This was Project Daedelus. The people sent were scientists, builders, architects. Those well learned in their crafts to build a large city capable of holding enough people and the space ships in order to continue building the city up and up.

But now, in year 846 AOR, it's time for a new mission, Project Icarus. The Colonies of Olympus Rising are sending one thousand young adults, ages 20 to 26 to inhabit the Earth and reproduce. To ensure the safety for the rest of the people. These young adults have apprenticed under one field their entire lives, and are now being used for that knowledge to make the Earth worth living in.

But wait. Reproduction? How? A group of politicians, including the Chancellor, have yet to provide further information on that subject. Nor have they disclosed any information about Project Daedelus. The only hope for the human race lies, apparently, in this sole group of young adults.

The Earth's last day was the fourteenth day of September, in the year 2100 AD. Which also doubled as the year 0 AOR (after Olympus Rising). Olympus Rising was started by millionaires across the globe as a way to save the human race. They decided that if one could afford to pay, they would be put on the ship, but there were only so many positions that could fill. The rest was done by lottery. It was very successful, and soon, many ships were collected, filled, and launched into space.

Originally, there were twenty ships. Some did not survive. Many people died. Some went off track and were lost. But Eight remained. Eight that orbited around the planet Jupiter, far from the sun. They were called the Colonies of Olympus Rising. Each one was as big as a large city, though some were larger than others. They were all run by the Chancellor, who was elected, and his board. There were two levels of board members. Level Ones were those who had been in politics for a long time and had a bit more sway. Level Twos were those who had less experience, and less sway, but still mattered.

Life has functioned very well up until now. It's no secret that people have grown suspicious of their way of life. Like, just how long their ships are going to last. Still, none of this information has been disclosed to them. And these missions? The projects? Tjhey sound like they mean bad news. But hey! Everyone would probably see Earth again.

But just what does Earth hold?

Also known as Alpha Mother (or Amo among the younger generation, who've come up with their own slang over the last several years), this ship is the largest of the colonies. It was the last one created, and it is where the Chancellor makes their home and office. This tends to be a more urban colony, with tall buildings since the dome is much higher.

Also known as Alpha X (The Monster among the younger generation), The Hydra is the oldest and smallest of the ships. It is a direct copy of the very first ship that was the prototype for the colonies. It's rather flat, has fewer levels, and is pretty much the equivalent of the slums.

What the younger generation calls "The Heights", which is now a positive term, The Aphrodite is the sleekest and most expensive of the ships, originally meant for a luxury cruise around the solar system. It's of medium size, and home to some of the richest and most influential people.

The Gaia, which has yet to be given a new nickname, was originally created to prolong the life of humans and return life to earth. It is a large and flat ship with a large amount of farms. It also has a very large man-made lake full of fish.

The Hephaestus, the Death Trap, or the awful "Heffer", is a ship that was painted with an iron based paint and looks rusted beyond belief. It's probably the least safe of all the ships, especially since it receives it's heated from boilers. And it looks like it could fall apart at any moment. Still, it's safe enough for life.

The Ares, the War Machine, the "Warrior", was originally built, well, as a war machine. it's decked with guns and is probably the safest ship to be on considering it happens to be bullet proof and everything is kept super clean.

The Chimera, the Citadel, is the second largest ship. It's very much like a big city, but not quite as big as the Medusa. It serves as a city that holds all walks of life. The inner ring is for those doing well in society, and it gradually moves down in status to the outer ring where the slums are.

The Oracle, also called the Ark by all generations, is a ship filled with several different biomes and tons of wildlife. A sort of effort to keep the beautiful wilde beasts of Earth alive. There are also homes, but they are small villages. Still technilogically advanced, but environmentally friendly.

1. Read all information. Uncluding the info found under the plus sign on the giant picture of Earth.

2. You must make at least two characters, and they must be a male and a female. Keep genders even.

3. You may make up to four characters.

4. As soon as I have at least four people show interest, I will upen up the character sign-up thread.

5. Respect each other.

6. Be prepared to post at least twice a week. And tell me if that won't work for you.

7. It is not first come first serve. But I do have an unlimited number of spots for players. However, if I don't think you're right for the rp, I have no problem telling you so.

8. Have fun!

I got a bit of inspiration from the 100 actually! I'm glad you picked up on that! And I want it to have that kind of vibe tbh.
Well I'm definitely interested! Thinking about a surgeon and either a biologist or a zoologist for my first two characters. (I might make more, I do that)

*slides in here so stealthy and steals the cookies* ya shouldn't have sent me the link, cuz now ya stuck with me. : D
