One day Earth’s water began to rise without warning. Within a year the landmass loss roughly a mile give or take. The Power Rangers called on help from Aquitar. With the brightest minds on Earth & Aquitar they were unable to stop the rise of the waters. The Aquitians helped them complete the building of the Lightspeed Aquabase and even expanding it to twice the size it was originally planned. Even at that size over 7 billion would die. With the help of the Aquitians they were able to create a retrovirus to genetically modify the human race to live under water. Not all humans who took the retrovirus were able to be modified some even died from the side effects. Still several billion died.
Years later tensions between humanity and the Mers. Billy was one of the few who tried to get modified, but it didn’t take. He like many believed that a war was inevitable between the air & water breathers. Billy began developing a way for the humans to escape, not the planet but the universe. He created a gateway to open portals to another universe he found an Earth that was seemingly pristine and untouched by humans. The news was leaked, and the press ran a story about Earth-Perfect.
Colonization began immediately. For a year the Aquabase checked in once a week with the Colony, then one day during the regular check in window Billy open the portal again, the only thing he found was a charred ruin. The Lightspeed Rescue Rangers were sent to investigate who or what did this to their people. After an exhaustive ten day search of the planet by air and sea no sentient life was found, not even corpses. “Earth-Perfect” was declared off limits and highly dangerous due to the mysterious nature of the disappearance of their people. Billy began exploring other universes and found an unsettling number of charred ruins and each time no threat could be found.
After six months of looking for a new home and secretly investigating the charred ruins they found a planet under attack at that very moment. The Lightspeed Rescue Rangers were sent to help. After they successfully saved the city they saw how the monsters were leaving, the same way they did. The threat was from another universe. Billy immediately began developing a way to block transport from another universe to protect their base and to protect another universe, but no matter what he tried he failed.
Then one day while the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers were saving another city in another universe the unnamed threat sent in their biggest gun to kill the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers. The only one to come back was Ryan the Titanium Ranger, he died shortly after. The Titanium Morpher was beyond repair. Without any Rangers and too much of their resources being diverted to keep the people alive they didn’t have the time to develop another set of Morphers.
Dana Mitchell who had retried years ago to become the executive officer under her father was forced to step up and take command of the Aquabase after the death of her father. Her first act was ordered the gateway shut down. Billy didn’t listen because there was a threat to the Aquabase that could come for them at any moment. He opened it one last time to the most technologically advanced place he could find. He teamed up with Time Force, they gave him a lab and he began working on a new set of Ranger Powers. He successfully created the strongest he or Time Force has ever seen. Billy then began recruiting people from around the multiverse to save the multiverse from the nameless monstrosities attacking it.
