Ouran Academy
Starter Post;;
Most students at the prestigious Ouran Academy, a school for rich kids located in Bunkyo, Tokyo, know about the school’s host club. While mainly catered towards women, in recent years they’ve accepted male customers as well. Ouran’s Host Club is one of the school’s most successful clubs and stories. They’ve been featured in magazines and almost every member has had a spotlight on them by the yearbook or newspaper and some in even bigger publications! The men of the host club put on sweet facades with their customers, but no member of the host club holds a bigger secret than Haruhi Fujioka.

Unbeknownst to the rest of her classmates, other than the boys in the club, Haruhi is actually a girl who just happens to have short hair and sometimes wears guys’ clothing. They mistook her for a guy the day that she accidentally broke a priceless vase and since then, she’s been working off her debt by being a part of the host club… as a guy.

Shortly after this, a princess type, similar to Tamaki, decided she also wanted to hold functions and dates with the students. After being rejected from joining his club, she was devastated, but with the whisper in her ear of the cool student, Setsuna Higurashi, they came up with their own club.

It’s been a few months since the all-girl host club has opened and they're rather successful considering the short amount of time they’ve been a thing. Today is one of their first events and, surprisingly, it’s a merger with the boys’ club. A decades themed party to end a stressful week of exams and tests for everyone. The party begins in just a few hours.

It had been a long week to say the least. Not only did Setsuna have two exams per day, but she was also setting up for the host club's first mixer with the boys. It wasn't that she wasn't excited about it per se, but a nice evening spent in her hot tub sounds so much nicer than having to play a role for whomever plopped down in front of her. Especially now that there was a theme, though she knew their princess picked the theme as she was given the 'ladie's choice' benefit, Setsuna still didn't think this was the best theme for their first mixer. It would've been much nicer to do something classic or romantic with all of the romance floating around.

While her thoughts were on the mixer, part of her brain was focused on the fact that she'd most likely be around Kyouya for most of the night. After all, they were the ones in charge of the whole scene, it was their job to make sure things went smoothly. Setsuna couldn't decide if she was looking forward to that part of the evening or dreading it because of how uncomfortable the boy made her.

Watching as the workers they hired finish setting up, Setsuna waved to Haruhi, who, for some reason, decided to help them with boxes and decorations. She shuddered at the sheer thought of manual labor, shaking her head and putting her attention back to the clipboard in her hands. She was checking things off of her list, the last one being for her to go get changed herself and letting the lolita do her makeup so it was purely grunge. Setsuna had been assigned the nineties as her decade, probably because grunge fit with her resting bitch face the best. It would be a fun night, or, it should be anyway.

KYOUYA OOTORI

Kyouya had arrived first to the former music room, as was typical for the vice president. Even though he was second in command according to the Host Club's structure, it was a well known fact amongst the club members that Kyouya was really the one in charge. The second year took a seat in his usual spot before trying to get a bit of work done. He started by making sure everything was in order for the coming evening. The costumes had been delivered on schedule, the food and drinks were all set, and the wait staff had already arrived to ready the venue. These parties were always very popular with the guests, but they were also a ton of work. Even with the time he had dedicated to studying for exams, Kyouya had allocated even more time to making sure the books lined up as he paid the various vendors. He was starting to lose sleep, not that it showed. He was an Ootori after all, and he wasn't going to let anyone see even a bit of weakness.

"That should be fine, then," Kyouya mumbled to himself, checking the last few details. Now he just needed to get to the event space. He pulled out his phone and sent a quick message to Setsuna, his equivalent, so to speak, in the girls' club. He just wanted to confirm that the girls were all set, since if anything went poorly, it would reflect on his club as well. Pressing send, Kyouya then went to change into his costume. Kyouya had ended up with the 1980's for his decade. His costume was inspired by Footloose: a leather bomber jacket, slicked back hair, and high pants. It worked well with his "cool type" designation within the club. Once he was dressed, Kyouya headed to the event space.

Tamaki passed Kyouya on his way to the club room and attempted to intercept his friend, though Kyouya ignored him and continued on his way. The host king pouted as he made his way to the club room all on his lonesome. Tamaki was quick to change into his own costume, eager to join the others. Tamaki was thrilled with his 1960's costume. He had a floral top and bell bottom pants alone with a peace sign necklace. He had wanted to get even more accessories but Kyouya had denied his request.

Tamaki burst into the event space, grinning. He absolutely loved these big parties. They were always so much fun! Then when Tamaki saw the girls and his mood soured. In his excitement, he had entirely forgotten that this was a joint event. He trudged into the room, dragging his feet to clearly display his unhappiness in regards to the current situation.

Haruhi Fujioka

To say Haruhi had been excited for the event was a bit of an understatement even if she had tried to keep it a secret from the members of the original host club. Haruhi would get to see the extent of the girls club and her exams were finally over, a stressful time for her since her scholarship to the school depended on her being the top of her class. A female host club wasn't a bad idea and seeing other girls run it was exciting to her. In her excitement, she found herself in the club room where the mixer was being set up and Setsuna was there as well. She was happy to wave back to the girl as she picked up an empty box and started to help out with putting it away. Maybe some of the work would get done faster with some help. Luckily she had changed already before getting to the mixer venue,.

For her decade, she got the fifties as her theme and her outfit consisted of a red letterman jacket, a loose white t-shirt underneath, and tan slacks. She styled her hair a bit so it would be slicked back with a few strands loose in the front. It wasn't be too hard to do on her own and it helped her sell the costume a bit more. She glanced up as Tamaki burst into the event, already decked out in his sixties costume. As always his costume suited his flashy personality. She moved the empty box to a storage area out of the way before making her way back to where Tamaki was. He didn't seem to happy with the mixer and he didn't try hiding it to much. "Hey Senpai." She greeted her club president with a smile, hoping that having another host member with him could calm him down a bit. "Everything looks great doesn't it? I think this is gonna be a hit." She added a growing smile as she looked at the decorations that were being set up.

After making sure any last minute arrangements had been made and dealt with, Setsuna finally had a chance to go get herself ready. The only part she was dreading was having another member of the club do her makeup, after all, she was perfectly capable herself. Apparently though, the grungey nineties look needed a smokey eye or something dramatic that she wasn't used to, so it was someone else's job. Usually Setsuna didn't mind having other people do unimportant things for her, but makeup was something she liked, so not getting to do it was kind of a bummer. Then her phone went off and she raised a brow, pulling it from her skirt and seeing Kyouya's name pop up. Her cheeks went slightly pink as she read what it said, he was checking in on her. Some people might find it sweet, but she saw it as him doubting her. Her response only exemplifies why it's so unclear to people that she likes him, to paraphrase, it went something like this.

You do know I'm not some random slack off, right?

Was it harsh? Oh, absolutely. However, sometimes Setsuna wasn't the best communicator. It was beyond her how she ended up as the cool one in the club, then again, it wasn't like there was a type that personified her perfectly. Did any type personify any of them exactly? The answer was no, and yet everyone still went by them like it was law. After sending the text, the girl tossed her hair over her shoulder and went to the dressing rooms to change. She kept her hair the same, only put two black scrunchies in instead of ribbons. Her outfit though, was different entirely.

Setsuna was wearing a plain black bra with a netted see-through shirt on top. She wore black ripped jeans and a black leather jacket to finish off the look. While she thought she looked weird, it did look like the inspiration pictures she'd been shown the week before the event.

"Whatever." The girl sighed, taking a seat to get her makeup done.

It was quicker than she thought, but Setsuna was thankful as she didn't like sitting still for very long. Now that she was completely ready, she slid on the combat boots in her size and made her way out to the courtyard where lights were hung and photo ops for each decade were set up. Her eyes settled on Kyouya for a moment before turning away and going to inspect the photo stations, talking with the photographers to make sure everything was ready to go.

TAMAKI SUOH

Tamaki squealed with joy, his sour mood instantly dissipating as he rushed toward his precious daughter, swooping her up in his arms. "You look so cute! But you know, Haruhi," he started, setting her back on her feet. "I think you would've looked even better in the outfit I suggested!" Tamaki had selected for Haruhi a pink poodle skirt, matching scarf, and heels. "You know, there's probably still time to change!" He looked at her excitedly, as if there was even a possibility of Haruhi agreeing.

"Leave her alone, Tamaki," Kyouya interjected, standing nearby and doing something on his phone.

Tamaki deflated again, pouting, but quickly recovered. "Well, anyway, the guests should be here soon. I hope those girls don't mess everything up for us." Tamaki shot an unimpressed sort of look in the general direction of the other club. Being raised in a very isolated way, Tamaki had a certain, and unfortunate, sense of how things 'should be'. And a girl's host club was certainly not, in his mind, how things should be at all. Tamaki's mind was slowly starting to widen as he met more people and was challenged to face new things, but he still had a long, long way to go.

KYOUYA OOTORI

Kyouya had to stop what he was doing when he saw Tamaki dash across the room out of the corner of his eye. While seeing the club president harass Haruhi was nothing new, Tamaki needed to be a bit more cautious and a bit more professional with the members of the other club present. "Leave her alone, Tamaki," he instructed sharply, feeling a bit pleased to see the over excited king deflate. Kyouya considered Tamaki a very close friend, but it was beyond entertaining to mess with him, especially where is concerned Haruhi. He watched the two for a few moments until he was satisfied Tamaki could handle himself, and even if he couldn't, Haruhi certainly could. The natural host had quite a bit of influence over the blond second year.

When Kyouya felt confident that all of the tasks related to the event had been completed, he returned his phone to his pocket. Kyouya watched as Setsuna approached the photographers and irritation simmered in his mind. He hoped sincerely that she wasn't going to mess something up by meddling where she wasn't needed. Setsuna wasn't incompetent, but Kyouya was far more experienced with sort of event planning. That and he had his reputation to maintain.

"Everything alright?" he asked casually, strolling up beside Setsuna and adjusting his glasses. Kyouya wasn't intending to be mean or aggressive, but he wasn't trying to be nice either. "I'm certain my instructions to the photographers do not require further explanation. Shouldn't you worry about your clubmates?"

Haruhi Fujioka

It wasn't even a minute before Haruhi found herself in Tamaki's grasp and let it happen for the most part, used to his way of showing affection though not a big fan of it personally. She breathed a sigh of relief upon being released and glanced up as he spoke and frowned a bit. She was happy for Kyouya's interjection and spoke up as well. "Senpai, this isn't the time or the place for that kinda stuff. Besides this outfit is better for the occasion and I'll leave dressing up to girls here, they'd look cuter anyway." She responded with a genuine smile, excited to see what the girls would dress up as. It was a breath of fresh air to see other women getting in on hosting even if the other hosts had some issues of competitiveness with it. Of course she had no intentions of leaving Tamaki and the others but she still supported the girls from the sidelines. More recently with Setsuna and her crush on Kyouya, she truly did want everything to work out between them.

"Come on, you know that these girls won't mess anything up. They may be a little new but I managed to adjust quickly and I'm sure they can too. You guys need to relax. Tonight's gonna be fun but not if everyone's at each others necks." Haruhi sighed, glancing towards Setsuna and Kyouya. Putting aside the girl's crush, she hoped those two could get along during this. If tensions get high, who knows what could happen. "Let's just make tonight fun, okay?"

TAMAKI SUOH
ouran-high-school-host-club-tamaki-suoh.gif
"Oh, I suppose you're right," Tamaki agreed rather easily, his sparkle returning as his host mode began to activate. "After all, how could something go wrong at a Host Club event? We will make sure our lovely guests have a wonderful time!" Tamaki scanned room, taking count of everyone who had arrived so far. "And speaking of our guests, they should be arriving soon, should they not?" Really, as the king of the Host Club, Tamaki should know what time the guests were arriving, but Kyouya always had that sort of thing under control so he never had to worry about it. Tamaki lived such a charmed, care free life for the most part, until you dived into the intricacies of his family situation.

Tamaki combed his fingers through his hair, making sure his appearance was just right. He would make sure everything was perfect. The girls all relied on them, after all, in his mind. He had a duty to them to make sure they all had a wonderful time. It made him feel good to make people smile and laugh. "I wonder how busy tonight will be..." Based on the size of the event space, and the fact there were to be 13 hosts in total between the two clubs, it should be a pretty good turn out. "I hope those girl hosts actually have some guests show up." Tamaki suddenly appeared quite sad, even distraught. "What if none of their guests show up? That would be so sad! I mean, it's not like a girl's host club could be very popular... No, even if none of their guests show up, we can just have them be our guests! I mean, the whole goal of the Host Club is to make every girl happy!" He seemed quite pleased with his decision, staring off into space with stars in his eyes, delusional as usual.

Eli wondered many times why she agreed to being part of this women's honest club then she remembered how hard it was to say no to the the princess. "Ugh that is the last time those puppy dog eyes work on me." Eli said to herself......it wouldn't be the last. Though honestly Eli had surprisingly been kind of enjoying her time so far and this even she didn't mind to much. Her decade was the 70s dressed up as disco girl ready to party! She didn't mind that to much. She was actually quite curious to see the boys though she was dreading on seeing Tamaki. She'll never understand why the girls loved him so much he was just....a lot. He had tried out his charms on her when she decided to visit the host club on the twins recommendation, she did not fall for Tamaki's "charms" which to seem to hurt his pride. When she finally made it she entered and saw three of the boys were here and saw Setsuna was the first girl to arrive, no surprise there. Eli walked in and put her hands on her hips as she looked at their costumes. "Well everyone don't look half bad." She said making her presence known.

She was just looking over one of the photographer's shoulders at the angle of the camera, making sure it had everything it needed and nothing it didn't. Then she felt a presence beside her and before she could turn, she heard the familiar voice of Kyouya.

"Oh," She said a bit bluntly, stepping back from the innocent man whom she'd practically been interrogating, "Yes, just fine."

Setsuna was a little surprised he'd come up to her, especially considering she could see Tamaki seething from about a mile away. Then again, it was her and Kyouya that agreed on having a joint event, it just seemed like a good idea, and it still did! It just might be a bit more stressful than initially intended. She slipped her tongue in her cheek and looked up at the boy, already slightly annoyed with his tone, sometimes she couldn't tell if she liked him or hated him.

"Your instructions were fine, yes. However, Mamoru here needed some lessons in angles so that girls weren't sent home crying when they looked distorted in the camera." She raised a brow to the boy with glasses, "It's sweet to hear you worried about my club mates though, but I can assure you, they're all perfectly ready for a lovely evening. After all, we have a reputation to build upon."

There was a glint of mischief in her eyes, but really it was just to throw him off. Setsuna really did want the night to go well, and she refused to have anything mess it up, no matter whose club it came from.

KYOUYA OOTORI

"Of course you do," Kyouya replied with his perfect, practiced host smile, almost guaranteed to make a person swoon, assuming they are attracted to cool types. In truth, Kyouya was only half listening to Setsuna as he scanned the room. He had to check every few minutes to make sure his hosts were all on their best behavior. Looking away for too long gave Tamaki, Hikaru, and Kaoru time to make trouble, and that was best avoided versus putting a stop to it once it started. Kyouya returned his attention briefly to the woman before him. "Well, Setsuna-san, I wish you and your club luck on a successful evening."

While Kyouya's words were simple enough, no malice or sarcasm, they also had an unreadable quality to them. Was he wishing her luck because he hoped they would succeed? Was he being polite out of necessity? Was he secretly hoping for their down fall? The vice president's motivations behind his actions were difficult to guess at best, and he certainly didn't provide any clues. Kyouya bowed briefly before going to check on each of his hosts. He had to make sure everyone was ready, and dressed appropriately, as the guests were due to arrive any moment. Each host had a full docket of one-on-one meetings in addition to photo opportunities and small groups. Kyouya ran events on a very tight schedule, at lease from the hosts' perspectives. For the guests, it was always a relaxing and enjoyable time.

After making sure everyone was ready, Kyouya awaited the opening of the doors. Once the guests began to enter, there wouldn't be time for anything extra. But Kyouya wasn't overly concerned. The Host Club was more than practiced when it came to events.

Haruhi Fujioka

Thankfully Tamaki seemed persuaded by her earlier though the switch was rather sudden. Not that it seemed out of place to Haruhi but it was always a bit shocking how fast he can switch his tone. "Yeah the guest should be arriving soon but there's still some time for the rest to get ready." Haruhi added on to his comment about the guests' arrival. She also couldn't help but wonder who all was coming to the event. There would definitely be a lot on the host's side but she didn't know how many were going to come from the girl's side. Of course, Tamaki's comment about them not having any guests seemed wrong too. "Don't be ridiculous, Senpai. They've been open for a few months so they definitely would have some by now. Besides I have only been here for a little longer than they have and I've already have a few regulars within the club myself. They should be fine." She reasoned with him glancing between him and the girls, hoping they didn't take too much offense if they heard it at all.

She glanced over as she saw Eli announce her presence. "Hello," She greeted politely. She didn't know much about Eli but she did try to make it a point to be nicer to the girls as opposed to the hostility the guys shown to them. Though she was more careful of herself around Eli. The girl knows somethings off about Haruhi and though she never seemed to look into it too much, Haruhi didn't want to give herself away either. She was the only girl allowed in the host club, even if it was through force, and that would definitely be a point of contention if found out. They might even reveal her gender and that would mean no more working for the fancy tuna host club.

TAMAKI SUOH
8RH2.gif
Haruhi certainly did have a point. While this other club was fairly new, they did have a few months under their belt. They certainly could not have made it this far, to the point where Kyouya would be willing to work with them, if they didn't have at least a small following. Kyouya wouldn't waste the clubs time with a business arrangement with a bunch of nobodies, leaving the club with nothing to gain. Tamaki did disagree with one thing that Haruhi said. "Don't say stuff like that, Haruhi! Sure, you may be our newest member, but you have more than a few regulars! You're our natural host after all! No training required, remember? You're far more popular than any of those girls!" Tamaki was not about to have Haruhi lower herself, his precious daughter, below some no names.

While Tamaki still wasn't feeling overly friendly with this new, rival club, he decided to try putting aside his negative emotions. He crossed over toward Eli in a few smooth steps with a dashing smile and sparkling eyes. He knew the female host by name, but not much beyond that. "Welcome, princess," he greeted, his voice dripping honey. "We may not look half bad, but you look absolutely beautiful!" He reached for her hand to kiss it. Was he going a bit overboard on the whole 'friendly cooperation' thing? Absolutely. But that was a core part of Tamaki's personality. He had to take everything and cover it with glitter and make it the center of everything. His inclination toward drama could hardly be outdone. "We look forward to working with you, princess!" Tamaki was confident that he could win over their rivals with his superior and unending charm. Maybe not Setsuna, she was a bit scary, but probably all of the others.

Some may think that Tamaki's kindness and flattery was simply a tool, a means to an end, but they would be very wrong. Tamaki truly was a romantic to his very core. If his flattery worked on the other club, he would be thrilled to have new friends to add to his group, new additions to his little family. Tamaki didn't put on a show for any reason other than to make others feel good, even if just for a short while.

Hana Chiba
The Princess in a Foreign Land

Current Location: Entering the Club Room
Interactions: N/A
Mentions: Setsuna ( temporarybliss temporarybliss )

Hana was often one to always try to have a plan. An idea of how she would want things to go. A strategy for how to approach things. Never had she thought one of those plans would be beginning a hostess club. Yet if she had learned one thing about Setsuna Higurashi, it was that she could make anything sound plausible. Even something like this. And while Hana was the kind to hope for positive results, the success of Ouran Highschool's Hostess Club was on a scale grander than anything she could imagine. Enough to grab the attention of the club's inspiration, the Ouran Highschool Host Club and make way for a merger.

Leading to where Hana was now. Sitting in one of the seats in the bathroom nearest to the clubroom, added some finishing touch-ups to her make-up as she stared at her reflection. Trying to ignore the nerves by focusing on her lipstick. Only to worry about whether it was correctly applied or not.

Hana sighed, shaking her head. What was she doing? Panicking in the bathroom right before her own club's biggest events. This was not behavior befitting any club president, let alone one in her situation. She should be there. With the rest of her club. Making a good impression. After all, should this go well, this could be the first of many successful mergers. And the path to making even more friendships within the Academy. Yes. That was the goal. All she had to do was work to attain it. And that work involved ensuring this party went without a hitch. And in order to do that, she needed to be there.

Taking a deep breath, Hana ran her hands along her dress, smoothing the fabric over. Fitting with the theme she chose in hopes of having this party be as memorable as possible, Hana was dressed in 1920s attire, wearing a loose-fitting cream-colored flapper styled evening gown that reached her ankles with golden sequins decorating the gown, frilly similarly colored sleeves made up of more translucent fabric covering her shoulders, white opera glovers reaching from her hands to slightly above her elbows, and a golden headband with a white feather on the side adorning her head. Something far from her usual style but considering the theme of the party, that was meant to be the point. To explore such bold departures of style even if they may be... new.

If her research proved anything, it was these sorts of parties were usually a success or, at the very least, were memorable.

With her headbands fixed, Hana exited the bathroom, her heels clicking as she picked her phone up from the bathroom's counter and turned it on so she can open her text conversation with Setsuna, the cool one of the club and her guide during this time. Even now, she was serving as one of the primary planners for this event due to having more experience with dealing with the companies hired to help set up for the merger. Yet, Hana did her best to get involved and assist in whatever way possible including now as she sent her a text.

Hello, Setsuna! Sorry if I kept you waiting but I am making my way over to the clubroom right now! How is everything looking?

After pressing the send button, Hana found herself biting her lip, unsure whether or not she should ask any other questions like if the Host Club members were present and if they were responding well to preparations. Only to realize she arrived at the entrance of the party... seems as though she would be answering these questions herself. A thought that echoed in her head as she took a deep breath and opened the door to the clubroom.

Eli smiled over at Haruhi when he greeted her. Before she could say or do anything else Tamaki appeared before her with a dashing smile and sparkling eyes.

"Welcome, princess, We may not look half bad, but you look absolutely beautiful!"

He took her hand and kissed it.

"We look forward to working with you, princess!"

For a moment it looked like Tamaki charms had worked Eli glanced nervously to the side and a faint blushed appeared on her cheeks. She then looked at him again with shyness and innocence's in her eyes. "Tamaki stop your making blush.." Then suddenly with in a blink of an eye her entire attitude change and she gave him a blank look with slight annoyance. "Is that the reaction you were expecting? " She looked over to Haruhi. "Do girls really fall for this over dramatic cheese ball?" She said as she yanked her hand out of his. "But thanks for the compliment." She said as he put her hands behind her back. "Now where's that adorable Honey." She said as she looked around. She then glanced over at Tamaki and smirked a little. "To bad your not as cute as Honey maybe then you wouldn't be so......obnoxious."

Eli glanced around again seeing no signs of Honey yet she also didn't see any signs of the twins either. "Ugh Lame...." She said to herself. When it came to Honey she thought he was the most adorable thing ever as for the twins she pretty close friends with them and found them to be a lot fun. But she wasn't the biggest fan of their role in the host club...or maybe she was? She denies it but there are times where they do manage to get her flustered. Forgetting all about Tamaki at this point Eli walked over to Haruhi. "Hey Haruhi you need help with anything?"

KYOUYA OOTOTI
eb9afeed398833a3a1efdcdb7c2c305e.gif
Kyouya was still stationed by the door, counting down the minutes until the event would begin, when the doors opened and Hana appeared. She was a curious character to Kyouya. Like himself, Kyouya knew Hana had a lot to prove, even if there reasons were quite different. He had been quite surprised to find out she was the one who had proposed the creation of the Hostess Club, even though it seemed that Setsuna had more to do with its actual creation. Which was quite similar to the relationship between himself and Tamaki. Kyouya supposed Hana's forwardness was a result of her station, like with Haruhi. It seemed that Kyouya had a lot to learn about the other classes in society.

"Ah, Hana-san, lovely to see you again," Kyouya greeted the club president with an easy smile. Out of all of the members of the Hostess Club, Kyouya had quickly determined that Hana was the easiest to get along with. Even with her middle class origins, Hana was quite well mannered and polite. "It looks like today's even will be quite a success." With the last of the hosts and hostess arriving, everything seemed to be on course.

While focusing most of his attention on the princess, Kyouya also made note of the interaction taking place between Tamaki and Eli. Or, the ended interaction. Kyouya had to press his lips together to hide a smirk as Eli firmly shot Tamaki down, seeming to prefer almost any of the other hosts over the king. Kyouya always took quiet pleasure in his extravagant friend had his ego shot down a few steps.

"Tamaki stop your making blush.."

Tamaki continued to smile warmly at Eli. She really was very pretty, and it seemed that she had appreciated his compliment, which is all that Tamaki could ask for. Maybe getting along with the other club wouldn't be as hard as he thought! Tamaki opened his mouth to speak again when Eli's words stopped him.

"Is that the reaction you were expecting? "

Stunned, Tamaki's expression almost instantly melted to confusion. The reaction he had been expecting? Well, yes, it had been. It was fairly typical for girls to respond to his flattery with a shy blush. What did she mean? Tamaki watched as Eli's attention moved to Haruhi.

"Do girls really fall for this over dramatic cheese ball?"

It was like a shot to the heart, an arrow cutting deeply into his chest. Over dramatic? Cheese ball? Tamaki wasn't sure what that second part meant exactly, but based on context, it seemed like it was supposed to be hurtful. How had the sweet girl he had started speaking to moments ago suddenly transformed into...this? Eli twisted the arrow further, expertly, by yanking her hand away, though he hadn't been holding it very tightly.

"But thanks for the compliment. Now where's that adorable Honey? To bad your not as cute as Honey maybe then you wouldn't be so......obnoxious."

K.O. Tamaki dramatically stumbled backwards, confusions turned to horror as Eli's stinging words continued. On the outside, Tamaki looked ridiculous. He was making such a big deal out of a little teasing. And he had been the one to approach her so aggressively, so he shouldn't have been so surprised that she would respond in turn. On the inside, Eli's words repeated themselves on loop in his head. Over dramatic. Not as cute. Obnoxious. Tamaki scuttled away to a vacant area of the room, curling into a sad ball.

The Princess in a Foreign Land

Current Location: The Club Room
Interactions: Kyoya ( youngwriterme youngwriterme )
Mentions: Eli ( animegirl20 animegirl20 ), Tamaki ( youngwriterme youngwriterme )

For a moment, Hana was starstruck with what she saw. For a moment, it felt as though the young woman stepped straight into a fairytale. It was a common thought she had appear in her mind since she arrived at Ouran Academy but never was it more true compared now as she stared at the decorated room. Astounded by its beauty.

That was until she heard a conversation near her.

“Do girls really fall for this dramatic cheese ball?”

Upon hearing the statement, Hana perked up, quickly turning to where she heard the noise. Only to find herself paling at what she saw. Eli. One of her own club members, insulting one of the host club members in his face. And not any of the host club members. The president himself. Tamaki Suoh.

Panic quickly filled Hana, her entire body tending up as no longer was she awed by the party room. No. Now she was seized with fear about how such an action could ruin their first impression on the host club. Ruin any chances that they could do something like this again! Tamaki was already curled up in the corner from the sadness. Surely things were soured because of this!

Hana shook her head, attempting to brush these thoughts off as she looked down at the ground in thought. No. They worked too hard to have one comment ruin everything. She just had to figure out some way to make up for that. And needed to indicate to Eli and the rest of the hostesses that they needed to be respectful to the other club. After all, they helped them set up this party and inspired the creation of the hostess club in the first place. While there may be reasons for holding some distaste towards them, they were deserving of some respect. But she couldn’t just shout it now. No. Then Hana will make her hostess club look like a group of disorganized children. She just needed to do it subtly. Subtly and smoothly.

“Ah, Hana-san, lovely to see you again!”

“Gah!” Hana yelped when the voice suddenly broke through her thoughts, clinging onto the door she stood near as she turned to the source of the noise with a wide evidently startled look on her face. Only to see that it was another host. Kyoya Ootori. The son of the esteemed Kyoya family and also the Vice-President of the Host Club.

Did she just make a fool of herself in front of the vice-president of the host club?

“O-oh, Kyoya-san,” Hana made a small ahem, scrambling to regain her composure as she let go of the door, choosing to stand up straight with a bright smile on her face. “It’s wonderful to see you as well. I hope you are well.”

Upon hearing that the evening seems to be shaping up to be a success, Hana sighed out of relief, finally relaxing slightly since arriving at the club room. “That is wonderful to hear. I must say, everything looks amazing,” She stated, looking back at the clubroom again with a sigh, once again taken in by the beauty of it all. Only to notice Tamaki still in the corner.

“Your President will be alright correct? I’d hate to have ruined the evening for him before festivities have begun?” She asked, glancing back at Kyoya with a look of concern.

Though she was sure he didn't mean it in any sort of way, the girl felt a small ping of fire in her as he replied to her club having to build upon their reputation. She could see his practiced smile, and could easily tell it was practiced, perhaps it was because hers was too. Still, she did feel her heart skip a beat as his eyes sparkled in her direction.

Distraction.

Trying to ignore the ever so handsome boy, the girl noticed as his attention slowly drew away from her, she went back to helping the cameraman, checking the time on the large clocktower.

"Damn." She cursed, glancing up to the boy, "Right, the same to you and the boys." Setsuna nodded quickly, grabbing her clipboard from the ground and hurrying to her position near the back.
Setsuna rarely had guests, not because there weren't requests, but more so because she was so busy with the planning part of the host club. With Hana in charge of leading them the best she could, the brunette kept to her schedule and would simply hand it off to the princess, telling her more than asking her if things were okay. It was just the way Setsuna was, she could be considered abrasive at times, but it was nothing her good looks or money couldn't get her out of.

Then, her phone buzzed, "Speaking of." She mumbled to herself, seeing the text from the princess herself.

With a sigh, the girl put her clipboard under her arm and texted back swiftly, Everything's ready, princess. But guests are arriving any minute so get into place.

It was straight to the point, much like Setsuna was in person. She never understood the tone over text thing, after all, why would someone get upset over a set of typed words? It wasn't her concern though, right now her main focus was on the girls and boys she heard chattering at the doors that were waiting to be opened. Walking over to the other hosts and hostesses, she raised a brow.

"Are we going to let them in?" She asked, tapping her clipboard, "I really don't want to get off schedule for our first event." She glanced at Hana, pleading with her through her eyes.

She smiled a bit at Tamaki's words of encouragement to her. He seemed to be trying to cheer her up, not that she needed it. "Thank you, Senpai. I appreciate it." Haruhi said giving him a simple smile before he made his way over to Eli. Haruhi watched the rise and harsh fall of Tamaki's ego by Eli's hands as not even a minute had passed between their interaction. Tamaki was easy to upset but this girl tore through him mercilessly. When Haruhi was in her sights, she partly expected to become collateral damage between the two. "... Well he is the most popular among us." She responded in his defense, not trying to permanently damage Tamaki's already shattered ego. Though it was too late as the last comment she made had shattered Tamaki's ego and he took up a familiar spot in the corner, curled up as usual. She and probably everyone else asides Eli could only hope he came out of the corner before the guests came.

She glanced away from Tamaki to see the wild hostess approaching her. She tried to be cautious around her but that didn't mean small conversations were avoided. "No but thank you. I might need help with him later but maybe Kyouya or the guests coming in will get him back in the swing of things. He'll be fine." She murmured glancing back at her club president curled up and sulking in the corner. "Luckily, most of the work is done by now and hopefully the guests will be coming in soon. I'm sure the mixer will be a success for everyone." She added with a smile turning back to Eli. "Tonight will be fun for sure."

KYOUYA OOTORI

Kyouya couldn't help but chuckle as Hana spoke. "Oh, don't worry. He'll be fine the moment the doors open. He would never let the guests see him like that. He is quite the professional," the vice president confidently assured the hostess. Tamaki was so quick bouncing from one emotion to the next. If one tried to focus too hard on his rapidly changing mood they would be sure to get a headache. "Though I'm sure he'd appreciate the concern." Tamaki did like having people make a fuss over him, after all.

Kyouya's small smile disappeared as Setsuna approached and spoke, his mood returning to neutral. He quickly checked his phone to see that it was the exact time the doors were supposed to open, on the dot. It seemed the other vice president was certainly on top of things, even if it seemed she was more worried than the situation warranted. Even if the doors were to open a few minutes late, the event could still be a success. Kyouya allowed his practiced smile to return. "Of course, Setsuna-san. Try not to worry yourself with the schedule. Events never go perfectly to plan, so it's important to be flexible." There was a bit of something in his gaze as he briefly locked eyes with Setsuna before focusing on Hana again. "Now, if you'll pardon me..."

A quick glance over his shoulder to make sure no disasters had occurred and Kyouya was confident everything was ready. He met the eyes of his hosts to confirm such. He lingered on the puddle formerly known as Tamaki. "Pull yourself together, Tamaki," he instructed as he turned to face the doors. He knew that Tamaki would already be back on his feet, ready to go. Kyouya took a slow breath, steeling himself. Their would certainly be problems, there were always problems, and Kyouya always found the solutions. He was ready. In a fluid movement, Kyouya pulled them open, stepping to the side and out of the way. "Welcome!"

The guests were quick to flood in the doors! Kyouya stood out of the way, watching as the event began.

In what seemed like the blink of an eye, Tamaki had transformed once again. From a sad, wallowing pile on the ground to being front and center as the guests began to flood through the doors. His host persona was in full swing now. "Welcome!" he greeted cheerfully as guests flocked to him. He was pleased to see that most of his regulars had been able to make it. "Thank you so much for joining us! Let's have a good time!" Tamaki began to dote on his guests, showing off his costume and charming them. His heart break from moments ago was but a faded memory now.

"Oh, Tamaki! Will you take pictures with us? Oh, please say you will!" one of the guests requested, batting her big, doe-like eyes and clasping her hands. Tamaki's regulars certainly had a type and Tamaki had learned to cater to the type with ease.

"Of course, princess," Tamaki replied, bowing before her, filling the role of dashing prince perfectly. "Anything for you."

The girls squealed as Tamaki led his group over to the appropriate photographer, bracing himself for what would certainly be a very long photoshoot. Tamaki didn't mind, though. Seeing their smiles, hearing their giggles, letting them fulfill whatever need they came to him to fulfill. Some of the girls came for the fun of it while it seemed others came for more specific reasons, such as reassurance and support.

Try not to worry yourself with the schedule, as if that was even possible. It was her job after all, not that she was a worrier usually, but this was their first big event with the host club, and they absolutely had to be up to par, if not exceeding them in satisfied customers. She scoffed at his comment as she felt like he was trying to one-up her.

"I'm quite flexible, thank you." She said calmly, crossing her arms only to realize how terrible that came across.

Still, Setsuna stayed silent and let him pass, noticing the look in his eye and raising an eyebrow back, unsure what it was for. As people came flooding in she was pushed aside, nearly falling as gracefulness had never been her strong-suit. After regaining her composure, the girl took a look around and nodded, turning to go find an empty table in the corner so she could pull out her computer and take some notes as well as make sure all appointments were on schedule.

She found Kyouya's words echoing in her ears which she found rather annoying, but still she focused on the computer, going over which hostess had how many guests and at which time.
