Do our characters have to be know-nothing newbies? In the CS it says they get their diavoul weapon upon entering the guild, but can they have one prior to entering the guild? Same for souls and stuff like that.

Generally speaking, this specific guild will be filled with more or less newbies due to a few reasons.

Weapons are generally speaking going to be only given upon initation into the guild, as they have to be forged from Diavoul Fragments and monster souls, which as was said, only a few have been found, and most guilds only having 1 or 2. So it would be rare for one to be forged outside of a guild, but technically could be possible if you really wanted.
