FUTURISTIC / REALISTIC SURVIVAL HORROR
You're a hardened Nuke Trooper of the prestigious Astral Marines, an amphibious light infantry commando group operating within the exhausted Ganjo Cluster. It's a visceral and hellish region of the galaxy rendered uninhabitable due to still-active mind-altering military radar installations. Creatures and terrestrials have evolved into ghastly projections of their former selves and remain in existence due to genetic adaptations and mind-control. The Imperial Navy has assigned your regiment to entrench defensive positions on some uncharted archipelago-rich planet within the galaxy designated: "90X04". Your unit has been tasked with raiding coastline facilities, source of the antenna's power, and disabling their generators. You're an elite soldier and this work comes easy to you, but nothing could prepare you for the mind-splitting horrors and carnal disfigurement witnessed in the decrepit stations. And within the regiment, frightening anecdotes of strange happenings and weird occurrences have command in a frenzy.

On one of these expeditions, your platoon's Troop Transport Vessel was ripped out of the unforgiving atmosphere by an unregistered anomaly upon arrival to one of these facilities. Consequently, most of the crew have suffered injuries with some fatally wounded. Due to vast experience, or pure luck, you survived the catastrophic impact and lived to escape the crash site. Armed with your Saber Rifle, expertise, and equipment, you hammer onto your objective and regroup with like-minded operatives.

You've been hiking to the facility 'Dawn' for three perilous days until now, your arrival.

All of us stand outside the entrance, primed with unwavering determination.

High Concept: dark-themed gritty survival-horror roleplay. Mutants inspired by Silent Hill and Resident Evil monsters. Atmosphere inspired by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise and combat inspired by the run-and-gun domination in DOOM. This roleplay will be character-driven and I'll tailor the plot to suit our character's development. Any questions please let me know and feel free to throw in your ideas! I have character sheets ready, I just wanna see who's up for it. Thanks for your time, peace;)

Sounds like we'll be doing the survival horror genre justice. I'm in. Still deciding on a role.

Any chance to see the character sheet? Also I don't really have a lot of "military squad" type writing experience so if there's any specific protocols and such that characters should be abiding to, I'd appreciate the advice. :neutralteeth:

Commander's Report:
"Currently serving with the 495 Orbital Commando. Dominus has proved through his share of intense combat that he's physically and mentally resilient, retaining optimal tactical proficiency in even the direst of situations. An outstanding asset for his team when employed on combative maneuvers, his stalwart courage and visceral hilarity keep the men engaged. He's pleasant and hospitable but speaking to him outside of the job "is like pulling teeth". Composed and vigilant, Dominus is The Marine-Trooper's trooper."

"As hard as a woodpecker's lips and one tough son-of-a-bitch. I've seen him detonate breach charges by punching through them. He's not afraid to throw himself in the midst of guttural carnage and horrifying dismay. A veteran of three wars, so I commend the man."

"An exemplary soldier and a natural-born leader."

"Tolstovia was once a heavily-urbanized ecumenopolis characterized by its booming industry and self-aware humanoid machine-led government. Long story short, 2 billion soldiers were deployed here when the Cyborg Coalition staged a revolution. Slave androids were released from the neural mainframe and fought an insurgency war against stationed troopers. It eventually culminated in several extremely catastrophic battles. Entire sectors were collapsed and razed to their foundations, but that's to say nothing of how cramped the fighting was... it was common to hear of pilots being crushed to death in their mechs, or boiled alive from the collective heat. 'Mechatrauma' after the war affected millions."

Hey, I have a few questions with the CS! I'm a little out of my element with the technical military lingo (although I'm definitely in the element with the visceral survival horror aspect.)

What exactly do these mean: Op: Dt. Op: Sd. Op: Bd.
What are the options for Class? (Yours says Nuke, Gamma but I'm not sure what that means.)

Is Sergeant, Specialist, or Corporal more realistic for a combat medic?

And have any of our characters been in previous deployments together?

Ayyo no worries fren, I'll try my best to help! Op is short for Operation, the 'Dt' 'Sd' 'Bd' are codenames for the operation. For example, Operation Sunspear would be Op: Ss.
Across the Galactum Imperum's Fleet, elite units are regarded as 'Nukes'. That would mean you and me. Marine-Trooper Officers however get the added 'Infra' 'Ultra' or 'Gamma' depending on their stage of training. All fully commissioned Officers are given the 'Gamma' honour.
"Is Sergeant, Specialist, or Corporal more realistic for a combat medic?" - It's up to you!

"And have any of our characters been in previous deployments together?"
I'm so glad you asked this question. Yes, we have sweat, cried, bled and fought together as brothers in arms. Tolstovia forged the strongest bonds. A lot will be further explained in lore dump tomorrow(;

So all characters in our unit are considered MT Officers?

And I shall eagerly await the lore dump. :coolshades:

No, we're not considered MT Officers UNLESS you want your character to be an Officer - that's fine:)
All Marine-Troopers are Nukes.

I know what I want, after doing a bit of research. A breacher, proficient in forced entry tools like crowbars, breaching shotguns, and explosives. Guess that counts under demolitions?

Hallo frens, lore dump is coming soon but I'm busy with coursework atm. Maybe I should create discord server? Also, still recruiting !
