Lucid
Before nations existed, packs of werewolves constantly fought and pillaged. They were often scavengers and thieves. The world was in a constant state of turmoil.. At least before the rogues and small groups found themselves under the watchful eyes of mysterious beings they began to call 'Kami'. Only the most peaceful in this era were chosen by the Kami to lead their fellow wolves to a more tranquil era. These six wolves, who would come to be called sages, were chosen to wield the power each Kami held. They spread talk of peace and pacified the enraged land. These six wolves, though never truly given much recognition, gained disciples from each rogue clan whom they passed what they learned from their respective god onto. Though there were still those who turned their back on the peaceful ways that had been forged and they left the land inhabited by these wolves. Soon the clans expanded beyond their small valley as more wolves were united under the banner of these clans, each having it's own patron god that represented it.

But... With order, chaos would soon follow. Peace became war when Ayakashi began to raid the towns at night. Night became a dangerous time to be outside for many and it was getting to the point that a darkness was beginning to engulf the land during the day even. It was decided by the solar nation that it would begin its war on the darkness. Soldiers from the sun kingdom were sent to more vulnerable areas to guard towns and fight the monsters that lurked in the shadows. The lunar nation ended up pulling out of the joint peace agreements between the six nations and a full on war between dark and light began. The two sides have been battling it out for ultimate supremacy for years and it doesn't seem like anything's going to change anytime soon.

Alright, welcome to the thread for Ookami. In the rp, The first six(or only six) will get to choose their own kingdom that they play as and since the names are pretty vanilla right now, you can actually give the kingdom a name if you don't want the basic element names and you can add more information to the existing descriptions of them. Should more people than six join, they can join a preexisting one.

Anyway, if you haven't guessed already, this rp has a few Japanese concepts, but it won't be completely like the place. The world the wolves live in is called Aarush(First ray of the sun), being called this due to the hold the sun kingdom has over the planet. There are six grand nations in total: sun, moon, water, fire, storm, and earth and a few lesser kingdoms. Moral corruption is rampant among people and this is especially true for higher ranking weres. In this world of turmoil, most nations have advanced as military powerhouses and while fighting the threat of the Ayakashi, also fight each other to gain more territory. There are a few nations that keep to themselves however and they're often small nations or isolated island nations.

1. Don't make it a habit to play as supernatural characters (Besides were wolves anyway cause those are supernatural lol.) What I mean by that is don't play as a bunch of Kami (minor kami), dragons, and spirits. Now you can play as Ayakashi because they're a bit more common on the mortal plain than the other ones.
2. Don't Powerplay, godmode(be overpowered) or anything of the sort.
3.Please be able to post more than a few measly lines. Writers block is understandable though, but don't use it as a crutch.
4. Try not to copy others characters. Sometimes, they will have the same traits, but lets keep this interesting.
5.Be creative. If you have an idea, feel free to mention it.
6. If you're going to join, be active. I don't mean like post ever few minutes, but at least post every few days or so. I can understand if something comes up, but let me know at least.
7. Be respectful to each other out of character.
8. You may play as werewolves, foxes, and dogs.

Sun: Amaterasu
The kingdom of the light and the sun. It is referred to as being the center of the world. It was once a peaceful nation and has been quite prosperous in years past. They are, however, not very close to the kingdom of the moon as this particular kingdom tries to defend against the darkness. This kingdom is often bright and shiny, a lot of it's buildings are made from marble or gold if they're religious or imperial. They've got the ability to purify darkness. This kingdom is a military might, often acting as the world's guardian against the night, but they have ulterior motives. The nation itself is actually quite power hungry and actually wants the land to itself. They have taken to destroying the temples and shrines of the moon kingdom and killing off it's people, claiming that it's for the greater good of the world.
Moon: Tsukuyomi
A kingdom often associated with Ayakashi and just strange magic in general. The wolves here are skilled in the dark arts. Their god is often seen as being a trickster, and he is currently on the bad side of Amaterasu due to the fact that it's widely believed that him and his nation caused the Ayakashi outbreak. The ayakashi rule the night, often making it unsafe for people in other nations to go out at night as they've overrun the land. Only people from this nation can tame Ayakashi. They don't fear the creatures of the night and often coexist with these beings. Their land is unlike most others. It is covered in darkness, has plenty of forests and cave systems. It even has it's on tundra, with the nation known to be cold in a lot of places. It's capital is up north and many assume it's simply cold and desolate. The royal family runs similar to a mafia family here.
Fire: Kagutsuchi
This kingdom is known for it's metal works, food, and it's courageousness. It has some of the strongest, fiercest warriors and is watched over by the god Kagutsuchi Most of it's members are excellent blacksmiths or at least powerful warriors if not chefs. They are adept at using fire and if they can't conjure fire, they can still make a fire innately. Temperatures are often high in their land, sweltering actually. Their land is full of volcanoes and subterranean caverns. Their over world is seemingly in what most would call a perpetual summer, but their land is just so hot. It is allied with the solar nation, but it's on the brink of leaving that alliance due to wishing for it's own power.
Storms: Fujin and Raijin
Has the ability to control wind and lightning, though this depends on the part of the clan one is in. There aren't many who can dual use wind and lightning, but this group of people are known to live high up, away from the other kingdoms. They live in isolation in mountains or very tall trees. Their gods are often depicted together and while Fujin is peaceful though like the wind his temperament can change, Raijin is more energetic and tech savvy. This nation is actually more technologically advanced due to their ability to control electricity. It's often humid here or at least cloudy or misty. It supplies the world with technology and may aid nations in constructing creations of war.
Water: Suijin
A kingdom found both underwater and on islands. It is known for it's resorts where it's actually warm at, but they also live near frozen waters. They're seafaring and great at fishing or swimming. Their strength, like the tides, depends on the position of the moon so they are closely allied with the lunar nation. They can conjure ice and water depending on where they live. Those who live further north are often best at using ice or snow while those further south use water more often. Both are good at fishing, but those up north have better ice skating skills or can travel through snow easier. They are subordinate to the lunar nation because of it's dependency on the moon.
Earth: Konohanasakuya-hime
A kingdom that focuses primarily on farming, hunting, and gathering. While they raise powerful warriors, they are also peaceful. They try to stay neutral when it comes to the wars between light and dark. They have the best scenery out of everyone else as well as a mixture. They have beautiful rolling fields and forests, mountains that tower above the world, humid swamps, and barren deserts. They are often one with nature and their goddess is quite peaceful as well. She's known to be the softer of the kami. The wolves here can communicate with animals, grow plants and create rock formations among other things. Depending on where they live they can either use rocks, sand, or mud to their advantage.

(I will have a map up soon, hopefully today)

RANKS
Supernatural
Kami
- Gods of the world
Dragons - Creatures who resemble serpents or giant lizards. Each kami has their own dragon who helps them with their job but there are rogue dragons as well that can be dangerous or good. Some dragons opt to aid the werewolves or serve as guardian spirits while some can be harmful creatures.
Ayakashi - Strange creatures or phantoms. They can be dangerous or peaceful. Some serve as guides to the werewolves while most are tricksters or actually dangerous. They can be vanquished by wolves of the solar nation, but they can be tamed by wolves of the lunar nation.
Ancestral spirits - Spirits of what once was earthly. They guide the families they left behind. They can take on different forms, but some can actually become Ayakashi.
Kirin - A mythical entity that always stays by the side of the imperial family. They chose the next leader of the nation and also serves as a guard of sorts. It also chooses an imperial priest, samurai, and servant. There are six types of kirins, each was once a messenger of it's respective god/goddess until the Kami gifted the kirin to the werewolves.

Ruling Class
Emperor/Empress
– While this is generally seen as the superior rank, in some cases, the shoguns have the most power. Some may refer to the emperor as the 'prime alpha'. They rule over large chunks of land that encompass the lands that noble classes own.
Imperial Family – Related to the emperor through any means. One of them is the emperor's successor.
Imperial Priests – The highest ranking priests in the country. They are over the other priests and the only ones who have been given the right to evoke the god that watches over their country.
Imperial Samurai - A group of guards who protect the imperial family and the priests under them.
Imperial Servant - An Omega who belongs to the imperial family.

Nobles
Shoguns
– In charge of the military and security.
Daimyo – Powerful and wealthy landowners. They are often military commanders with this being an overarching term applied to anyone in a high ranking military position. (Generals, lieutenants, colonels, you'll have to be specific with this particular one.)
Priests - Wolves capable of evoking or speaking to minor Kami.
Samurai – The armies lead by the Daimyos incorporated powerful and courageous warriors which were termed as Samurai. They both go to war or they patrol cities at night keeping towns safe from Ayakashi.
Noble families - The families who rule under the emperor/empress. They're a little less powerful than Daimyos and they aren't usually high ranking military officers. They're more like politicians.
Servants - Servants belonging to each class under the noble type.

Common Wolves
The Peasants / Farmers
– The Farmers or peasants used to work in the fields to gather food.
Artisans – They work with metal or wood, crafting weapons, farming tools, and other things.
Merchants – These were shopkeepers and traveling traders.
Commoners - Have more leisurely jobs, or they're unemployed at times.
Cubs - Children

Lowest Classes
Omegas
– This class included convicted criminals and wandering bards. Executioners, butchers and tanners were included in this class as they were dubbed 'impure' due to them being surrounded by death.
Ronin - Rogue samurai. They are generally frowned upon. They often travel alone but will sometimes join shinobi villages.
Shinobi - Ninjas basically, skilled in espionage and all that jazz. Often lone mercenaries that work for anyone who hires them, there are rare instances where they've banded together in small villages or packs where there isn't quite an existing caste system as there is in the country. Villages may be commissioned by others to do certain jobs for them as well.
Criminals - Self explanatory. A lot of times, they may actually be sent out to areas that are highly populated by Ayakashi.

Other Ranks
Hunters
- They are mercenaries who specialize in vanquishing Ayakashi. They either hunt alone, work together in small traveling caravans, or they've set up small local organizations. They can be ex-samurai, ronin, shinobi, or fighters in general. They sometimes act as town militias if they form a large enough organized group within a town.
Guru - Spiritual Teachers. They often pass on their knowledge to their disciples, making their homes among nature and in temples. They teach the ways of the six sages.
Monks - Devoted disciples to gurus.
Organized Hunters - There are organized groups that fight the night-dwelling Ayakashi. They are often trained and certified by the solar nation themselves. There are those that are secret however and don't go by the solar nation's laws. The largest organization is called 'Artemis'. Artemis is based in the storm nation and highly advanced.

BTW, how does the RP work? I mean, there'll be more than two poople, doing completely different things at once, and what will you be doing in the RP.

I always sort of figured the rp would actually focus more on another group of characters rather than the royal characters that we'd have. Yeah, the royals would be important, but it may be hard to play as them seeing as how they'd all be in separate places, but if we came up with characters that were within the same vicinity, then we could play as them and occasionally play as the royals depending on what would be going on in the rp.

I'm interested in being the Water Kingdom! Also I'm guessing we have to keep track of several characters from each of our Kingdoms in order for this to work right. Whew world building.

You have a point there. So we'll focus on multiple characters and I'll add you to the list ^^

Alright, so two of us may have to end up taking on the last two nations. If not, then I guess I'll end up taking on the other two so we can go ahead and start working on our characters.

Lol I got online yesterday and somehow didn't see all the other responses lol.

Misuteeku Misuteeku But yeah, if you don't actually want to, you don't have to choose a kingdom to play as. All we have left right now are sun and earth though if you happen to change your mind.
