In the streets of every major city, the occurrence of maulings and blood drainings have reached an alarming high. While some people originally thought that people must be losing their minds, whether it be to drugs, media influence, or just plain crazy genes, those thoughts were laid to rest........and gave way to panic as a recording of a person combusting in the summer heat emerged, and another of a wolf standing like a man jumping across the rooftops. That was the start of international panic. People geared up for any type of supernatural defense imaginable. These creatures started getting dragged into the light, literally and metaphorically, but as more were captured and killed, the rates of human deaths only increased.

A coven of vampires and packs of werewolves have been found since then, and it the numbers of both have been much higher than the humans have anticipated. The vampires and the werewolves are fighting, putting humanity in a crossfire between 2 supernatural creatures who could destroy a battalion with ease.

The Vampires have managed to stay on the down low, typically living underground or within the ranks of humans, using things like the gothic era and the modern day goth subculture to blend in with ease. While they may act like normal humans, and some may even want to live like normal humans, that bloodlust will strike and they must feed at some point, hence the main role of humans in the eyes of vampires. Sustenance. Some of these vampires have super-strength, super-speed. Some of them have been reported using magic. Regardless, no matter what type of vampire you're dealing with, even if they appear harmless, they're to be treated with the same caution as every other vampire, as they can and may very well kill you with absolute ease. In the ancient texts, Elder Vampires have been known to be hired as warfronts by humans at war, giving them riches and the blood of everyone they kill in exchange for simply killing their enemies. Elder Vampires have been known to take down entire battalions without batting an eye

Werewolves have always been a bit trickier to pin down, due to the fact that some will be very much human in every way.......until the dreaded transformation. While Vampires are already very fast and strong, that's nothing compared to a werewolf, as they're even faster and stronger. Under the Full Moon, or even worse, the Blood Moon, they turn into savage beasts, at their peak strength and speed. The equivalent to slaying a dragon, an Elder Wolf under a Blood Moon can level an entire city in a night. Packs of werewolves have typically been in the mountains or the rural areas far away from the big cities, but have been steadily moving in as vampire numbers rise. Some werewolves, like most vampires, get bloodlust and the desire to feed, and what better source of food than the heavily crowded cities?

Humans value their lives to just lay down and collectively die, so they decided to push back against the immortal creatures. The humans formed a group called The Templars, taken from the ancient Knights Templar who fought for the Church in medieval times, since some of these creatures have been around since those times. They utilize not only enchanted blades and Holy Blessings, but also the most cutting edge modern day technology to kill these creatures and stop them from sustaining themselves on human life. The most hardened of these humans are known as Elder Templars or Champions. Typically current or former military (but not always), these people are fearless and strong. They know how to work the battlefield, and know how to kill with the most efficiency. It takes something like a werewolf or a vampire to give them a decent warmup and an Elder to give them a good fight

You are one of these factions. Human, Werewolf, or Vampire. Whether you want to kill, capture and learn, or befriend them and try to live in harmony, all you know is that you are not safe. You will never be safe. How will you survive the streets of blood red rage..........

Late 1800s Industrial Revolution

(considering that there's no technology or modern guns really used by our characters, I just pulled the time back and we're reconstructing the modern world to be more attune to the RP)

In the cold air of November, a peaceful city sleeps at night, peace in this case being a relative and context dependent term. In terms of life and how busy it is, it is very peaceful. No heavy machinery, not a lot of lights on at night other than the ritual that was the street lights. In terms of peace of mind, however, there has never been this much chaos, not since the exposing of vampires and werewolves planted the seeds of paranoia in the minds of every human that wasn't one, and the seeds of fear in the minds of every vampire and werewolf who had human friends or were adopted by human families and just wanted to live in peace with their loved ones and human counterparts.

This City in particular was where it all began, where the sighting took place and the panic happened 1 year ago. Even after a full year, the uproar still hasn't died down. They've lived in secret for so long, integrated in society so well, who knows how many they killed, or how many they WANT to kill. It was like finding out the god you served for so long either doesn't exist or doesn't love you despite your loyalty to them.

A lone girl walked the streets, armed with a revolver, a shotgun, and a sword but she knew she wasn't alone. She was never alone. It was night, when vampires looked to feed. While the more peaceful vampires can be kept out with the simple Invitation weakness, some must be kept out with Blessed houses or Holy Water soaked doors and windows or Holy items hung on them. A curfew of about 7 was put in place, because that's when the sun starts reaching the point where it won't shine on the city anymore, so the more resilient vampires can walk about without much hindrance if any. This woman was a High Templar, strong enough to do the slayer missions alone to anything other than an Elder. She possessed skill, firepower, knowledge and confidence in her proficiency with all of those things

Nighttime was when the Templars, Vampires, and Werewolves came out to do battle, small skirmishes that typically turned chaotic. It wasn't uncommon to see a house or church on fire per night, or to hear the sounds of gunfire and swords clashed. . It was a necessary evil, no matter the species, to have these kinds of battles or to crack a few eggs for the greater good, whatever that meant to them as a species.

Rayleh
Rayleh made her way through the alleyways with calculated silence. The night was when all forms of enemies came out to play, but she would have no part in it. She had no particular allegiances to any of the three major groups. Her primary quarry were the enemies of man, Rayleh was on the prowl to destroy a beer distillery as per a contract by a rival company. She had previously scouted the location the night before. It was a small building only suitable to produce a smaller amount of product, but competition was competition and she was being paid handsomely for this. The contract giver, a greedy business man named Jack Bryne, even gave her very specific instructions on how to destroy the distillery. She simply had to twist a few levers here and there according to the graph he provided her and then make sure no-one tampered with them and then the pressure build up would cause an explosion.

Eventually Rayleh found herself on-top of an adjacent building overlooking her target. Two guards armed with blunderbusses and adorned in garlic. Rayleh was unsure if vampires actually had weakness to garlic, she heard conflicting reports. The windows and doors appeared to be adorned with holy imagery and presumably were lathered in holy water. Now Rayleh knew for certain that was a typical weakness of Vampire and Werewolf kind. Of-course Rayleh being of a lesser breed had a nigh-immunity to such basic baubles. Her classification as a day-walker afforded her no typical weaknesses and no special resistances other than being tougher than the average human.

Although there was a peculiar instance where she encountered a girl adorned in holy-robes, Rayleh was going to make short work of her but this absolute energy from her stopped her advance. It was almost as if she was burning. Essentially from what Rayleh could surmise that these lesser artifacts, even Churches had minimal effect on her but there was still some that had overwhelming energy that effected even her.

Anyways-- she dismissed the idle thoughts and used her spacial warping powers to connect space time from this point on the roof behind one of the guards, all it took was a simple step forwards and she was already behind them. From under her low hanging coat she drew a Katana, a weapon from the far East given to her by her excursion to there years ago. She kept the hilt in one hand and the sword in her left and quickly decapitated the unaware man. With a low running bound she preformed the same action against the other man, neither of them knew death was even coming. It was unfortunate that men reached such fates, she bet they all dreamed of dying accomplished or heroically-- not simply blinking and being gone.

Rayleh spotted an open window in the distillery and used her spacial warping powers to reach the window and enter into the building.

She had work to do...

Arlo
Decita - Lower Slums
Arlo was watching over her pack as they fed on the humans foolish enough to be out passed their protective curfew. She mainly did this to keep a protective eye over them and to make sure they followed the rules. The wind blew gently, carrying with it the scent of blood mangled flesh from her perch on the remains of a burned building. Her human form was relaxed until she noticed that one of the younger wolves had cornered two children.

Arlo's eyes took on a dangerous glint as she shifted and leapt down, barely making a sound. The grey werewolf was unaware of her presence before she lifted him up by the scruff of his neck, "We are animals, not monsters. We do not hunt children!" She growled at him with authority and fierceness of the Alpha before slamming him into the ground. It may have seen rough but this was nothing for werewolves besides basic discipline. Her gaze focused back on the frightened children and her eyes softened at thought of them being one of her own kin, "Go home little ones, it's not safe out here." The smaller of the two offered a small thank you before being dragged off by her older sister.

Her claws roughly dug into the wolf's neck, "Titus, we've been through this before. My word is final and you're done for the night. Go back to the mountain and help watch over the cubs. Catch an elk on your way for them to feed." Titus' ears remained flat as he showed his submission and apologized for letting his hunger get the best of him. Arlo let out a howl alerting the pack to wrap it up and head home. Her instincts were telling her that something was amiss and she could not bear to see her family hurt. The smell of a human was strongly intermingled with that of silver and gun residue. She followed the scent and found herself watching a young woman that seemed to survey the area. Arlo knew that she could crush the woman but did not enjoy the pointless killing of humans for anything besides food. She chose to climb unto some building remains as she kept an eye out for any of her pack that may come across the Templar.

Loriana Hoizer
Decita - Lower Slums District
Her heels clicked against the silent cobblestone streets, a squealing mouse in hand. For now, the small mammal would have quell her bloodlust as tonight she was on duty. Her fangs pierced the rats body, the high pitched noises it was making silences as its blood passed her lips and slid down her throat. Drinking from such a pitiful creature was pathetic in Loriana's eyes, but a nesecary evil. Once she was done, it's body fell to the street with a soft pat, and Loriana emerged from the shadows.

Under normal circumstances, Loriana would be among the hunted instead of a hunter, but she was special. Finding herself with no home in any of the factions, she walked a lonely path with nothing but her sword for company. Her eyes seemed to glow with their abnormal color, something that gave her heiritage away, but the fee other hunters, or Templars, or whatever you want to call them passed by her with nothing more but a hostile glance. If she was on their side, they would attack with no mercy.

Sniffing the air, she sighed. She couldn't smell anything other than overwhelming fear of the humans. It was understandable fear, her kinsmen were monsters after all. Ones that until only a year ago, were that of stories and superstition. The Wolf; a killer who roamed at night taking revenge on the beast who turned her among those stories. Of course, those tales were only half true. A nearby scream drew Loriana away from her thoughts. Immediately scanning the near by area, she spotted a vampire chasing after a girl. He vampire was starving, Loriana could tell by the overly crazed look in its eyes, and she briefly considered letting him have the girl. Until she spotted what the girl was carrying. Well, more like who. In the panicked girls arms was a baby.

In order to distract the monster, Loriana drew a silver tipped knife and threw it at the vampires arm as she dashed in their direction. The monster hissed, jerking it's head in Loriana's direction, changing his target. This gave he girl and the baby a chance to get inside. Once they were safe, Loriana drew her sword, holding her ground against the charging vampire. At the last second, she side stepped, swinging upward. The strike cut through most of his arm, to the point she didn't know how it was still attacked to his body. The vampire was beyond rational thought, and with another charge, Loriana cut through his neck. It's kinda hard to keep attacking without a head. She chuckled toherself as she stabbed through his heart with her sword, finding it an efficient way to end vampiric lives. Wiping the blood off her blade, and sheathing her sword, Loriana continued on her way.

After another few minutes of walking in silence, her presence only given away by the gently clicking of her heels, she spotted a familiar face. Ruby, a high Templar who Loriana knew of very well. Wether or not the other woman would know of her was a mystery. Reguardless, Loriana sped up until she fell in line beside Ruby, where she greeted her with a charming smile. "Goodevening your highness, anything fun happen yet?" It was now She could smell a nearby wolf, causing her glance around the area, before back at the Templar beside her.

Ruby Grant
Decita- Lower Slums District

"Just a patrol," Ruby said. "Enforcing curfew and killing any human feeding Unholy. Good money for a boring night." It was thrown out though as she heard a thud and heard dripping. She saw blood falling from rooftops and someone moving much too fast to be human. They went towards the distillery, then in. "Was a boring night," she corrected. "Would you like to join? There's a vampire in the Distillery. I don't know how well you Unholy smell things but that's all I see right now." Unholy was the word she used to describe the Vampire and Werewolves due to their Holy weakness. Humans couldn't sense Vampires and Werewolves unless they were priests. Ruby had fairly high faith, but not enough to sense Unholy. Would be useful as hell though. Loriana was treated like crap by members of the Templars, but Ruby saw her in action before. As long as Ruby didn't see her feeding on a human, she was good in her book. Plus, she needed someone to talk to. This job was incredibly lonely at night, with anyone outside past curfew probably having a death wish, either at Templar hands or at the hands of Unholy.

Rayleh
Rayleh upon entering the open window in the distillery found herself on a catwalk overlooking the factory floor. She quickly assessed the situation, there were a few guardsmen patrolling the area with weapons in hand and additionally a few overnight workers making sure the brewing tanks didn't malfunction. She could go about this in a subtle manner, quietly altering the machines functions and causing them to explode; although, Rayleh didn't trust that one of the overnight workers wouldn't notice. Perhaps she'd make enough of a mess out of the guards to make the workers flee the area, it would cause alert outside but she only needed a moment to engage the explosion of the distillery.

With katana in hand she used her spacial warping to simply appear behind a guard, she spun around to his side and in one quick swoop she cleaved off his hands. His screams and cries were heard throughout the building and thus she heard the movement of more guards rushing to investigate. She saw ahead of her a guard round the corner, he was much too far away for her to trust she could get up on him time; therefore, in reaction she created a spacial distortion behind the guard and stuck her blade through it impaling him through the chest. She left the poor man to choke on his own blood and reacted quickly to the pair of men coming up behind her. Rayleh quickly created a distortion behind herself so the shot she predicted they'd fire at her was redirected back in there general direction. This didn't hit accurately and only sent the shot from their muskets flying near them, although it was enough to send the pair into cover.

She knew she couldn't abuse her spacial warping powers for much longer before having to let it "Recharge," she'd still need it for an escape. With the two guards who previously were flanking her now in cover she doubled back in between the machinery. She heard them screaming orders among themselves, many of the workers were already fleeing the building, it was the time to act. Rayleh sheathed her katana and brought her graph to hand to review over what machine she needed to make alteration to. Essentially (sparing the specifics) she had to reach the master tank and increase the pressure to high with a few alterations, this explosion would be enough to detonate the other tanks and more than likely level the building. Rayleh had a rough idea that it would take about three minutes for the pressure to reach such a level (More than enough time to escape.)

Rayleh moved quickly through the mess of various machines all related to the brewing process. She didn't move very gracefully, more so in a rushed manner knowing that reinforcements were a very real possibility. She was about to reach the master tank when suddenly a worker turned the corner and haphazardly almost ran into her before coming to a dead-halt. Rayleh looked at the worker, he was a boy... mid-teens perhaps? His skin was broken out and his face still had that babyish look to it. This was the unfortunate fate of people in the slums, he probably worked long hours for a family who was barely making it by. Rayleh could tell this by how calloused the boys hands were already and the tired bags beneath his eyes. She might of let him go-- just maybe but he was about to cry out for help. With one quick swoop her katana took the head off of the boy, she gave him what he probably wanted the most... rest.

Rayleh moved to the master tank and began to make the needed alterations-- little did she know that she was about to have company.

"The vampire inside has killed someone, and there's a wolf pack hunting someone where near by," Loriana said, watching the distillery. "And please, use my name. It might be hard, but it's really a simple thing to do," The hybrid said, briefly glancing at Ruby. She was called worse, but it was easier to work with someone if they could at least pretend to be nice. "Shall we go?" No point in wasting any time. If they didn't move fast, the vampire inside could cause more damage. "They're up to something...we'd be smart to check around."

Arlo
Decita - Lower Slums
Arlo scratched the back of her neck with one of her paw-like hands. The night was beginning to get quite interesting in the worst ways possible. A Templar, a vampire, and some other person that smelled of her own kin yet had the scent of those damned leeches. She took in a deep breath before releasing a silent sigh, she knew that she could not allow a vampire to roam around their hunting territory but everything would get a lot messier if the other two got involved.

Arlo debated on having them deal with the vampire until she spotted a familiar grey streak prowling around the building. It was none other than Titus once again disobeying strict orders. He had ever been able to keep himself calm around the scent of any vampire ever since they murdered his mother in front of him. It was a piece of his past that he usually kept to himself once he was welcomed into their pack. Arlo watched with squinted eyes as he dove into the nearest entrance.
"That idiot! He's going to get himself killed if I leave him." Without a second thought, Arlo leapt to action while cursing under her breath. Her crimson fur stood on end as the idea of losing a family member drove her forward.

By the she entered, Titus was nowhere to be seen and scent was all over the place as if he just ran around in circles. Her head tilted back as she let out a low howl to find him. Her furred ears flicked back and forth at every insignificant sound until she pinpointed the scraping sound of claws against metal. A horrible realization hit her as she took off running, as stealthy as possible, on all fours. "Damn it, he's headed right towards that vampire." It was quite a shame that Titus reached the vampire before Arlo could get to him, he wasn't inexperienced with war but he was young and hot-headed. It wouldn't go well for him.

She put up her revolver and drew her shotgun. "Let's move then. Just know that, if I'm referring to Unholy as a whole, like I've been doing this whole time, Unholy is about as good as it'll get." Ruby started moving to the distillery. The front door was locked, but the window was broken, so she climbed in through there being as silent as possible. The window was taken out already, and was to be replaced soon, so the entire thing was silent. The entire place was dark, and the only form of light she could see was the streetlights from outside. Luckily, she was better at seeing at night than most others, but since she was a human, it'll still take a bit of time to adjust.

She stepped slowly, her guard up and her shotgun ready for action.

Rayleh had just gotten done adjusting the master distillery tank to trigger the pressure build up that would last about three minutes and then cause a detonation that would set the building ablaze. It was time to make her escape now; however, she was immediately caught off guard a young ferocious werewolf. She be either severely wounded or dead if this werewolf wasn't so brutish and inexperienced with war. She dodged low evading his strike and he went hurdling into a tank. Rayleh knew that there'd be no easy way to finish this foe considering she wasn't equipped for anything other than the killing of humans. For a moment she considered utilizing the flammable material within the distillery already, but she didn't want to pre-imperatively trigger an explosion.

The young and viscous werewolf eye'd down Rayleh for another split moment before going in for another strike. Luckily she hadn't demonstrated her special power to her opponent yet so she'd catch him off guard. He straightforward for an attack but Rayleh created a spacial distortion in front of her. In a quick motion with her blade she sliced open a nearby steam valve that let out skin-melting levels of heat but was sure to stay clear of it. The werewolf fell for the trap and ended up being thrown into the puncture probably having much of his face seared from the scorching steam. This wouldn't stop him for long and Rayleh began to make her escape making a low bee-line weaving and ducking through the machinery.

As she was about to clear the machinery and reach the outer edge of the distillery the werewolf miraculously caught up springing towards Rayleh for a tackle. Deftly she caught this in the corner of her eye and made a quick evasion to the side and she swung up with her katana. This impact caused the werewolf to become disemboweled, his guts beginning to leak out. Of-course this wasn't enough to finish a werewolf and the pain he received from this would create an opportunity for escape. Rayleh continued to attempt escape but little did she know that she was being watched by yet more people.
