Fandom Oh, the places we'll go

Andy for now looking to get his jigglypuff out of the ball, the little balloon looking to him a bit confused and wondering what she was supposed to be doing. "We will be having a battle with one of the trainers right now, perhaps you can show them your singing voice, not right now though." Her eyes light up at getting the chance to sing again, however, it also hopes that the audience would stay awake this time otherwise she would just practice her artistry again.

"You ready Parfait?" the name making the puff look back to Andy with another confused expression, before giving a little smile at the name. "It's a dessert if you must know, perhaps I can learn to make it at some point" he would try explaining to her, the pokemon still wearing a little smile though it is most likely at the mention of food rather than what that item actually is. With that done, the trio now looks to see the trainers roaming around the area most either in the grass or on the concrete path waiting for possibly trainers or wild pokemon. Andy heading to what looks like a younger one who would be eager to have a battle with him, so eager in fact he just tosses out a pokeball with a rattata inside it without really even introducing himself first.

Andy just smiles not bringing that up as he was looking for his first battle too, he backs up to give parfait and the rattata some space before this battle begins.

Sorrel laced her fingers together as she rested her hands on the back of her hands. She began to wonder around the park after Andy had split off from her to find a trainer to battle. Strolling down the sidewalk she noticed what looked like a schoolboy, in his hand a PokéBall. He might be a trainer, she thought to herself while walking over to him. The young boy looked up slightly at Sorrel, slightly confused, "Are you a Pokémon trainer," he asked. Nodding her head Sorrel smiled, "Yeah! My name is Sorrel," letting her hands fall back towards her sides she slipped the right one into her pocket, "And I challenge you to a Pokémon battle!" That seemed to make the boy excited, "My name is Jack! I'm a student at the school in Goldenrod to be a Pokémon master," he replied as he held out the hand gripping his PokéBall, "And I accept your challenge!"

The two split apart in order to make room between them in order to battle properly. Once there was enough space Jack was the first to bring out a Pokémon, throwing the device towards the battlefield. "Oddish, I choose you!" Out of the light form an Oddish. It let out a squeak and had a serious look in its eyes despite its smile. An Oddish was perfect though! Sorrel knew she had a type advantage against the weed Pokémon as she grabbed Apollo's PokéBall from out of her pocket, then tossing it towards the field, "Go, Apollo!' The puppy Pokémon burst out of his capsule and got into a battle stance, growling slightly at the Oddish.

"Oddish! Use Acid!" The little blue weed's cheeks swelled up before it spat out a purplish liquid towards Apollo, "Quick Apollo! Dodge it!" Apollo quickly jumped out of the way, missing the Acid attack, "Now, use Ember," Sorrel commanded as the puppy Pokémon opened his mouth a shot out multiple hot embers at the Oddish, hitting it directly. Oddish took a lot of damage from that shot, but still had some energy left in it to fight. "We're not giving up only getting started," Jack stated plainly before pointing in Apollo's direction, "Sweet Scent!"

Oddish shook the leaves on the top of its head which released sweet smelling pores into the air. The smell was enough to give Apollo a false sense of security and drop its guard.

"Start with quick attack" comes this trainer's command as it would get off a blindingly fast tackle before either one of them could react to it. While it does knock her back a bit, it doesn't do that much damage, "Parfait give it a pound!" Andy would call to her looking to retaliate with an attack of her own, the puff wearing the pouty expression as she smacks the purple mouse on the head sending it back as well.

The rattata follows up with a tackle, running up and smacking the balloon pokemon sending her rolling back a ways but both have plenty of energy after this, rattata looking a bit annoyed that this balloon isnt out yet and is still wearing a smile after a few seconds of recovery from the tackle. Parfait is now told to look as cute as possible via charm while the mouse tries another tackle, though this doesn't have nearly the effort put into it and as a result the tackle just sorta bounces off of her as if it just hit rubber, parfait still wearing a little smile as she delivers another pound to the normal type mouse.

This pound, however, is evaded and instead of attacking, the other trainer opts for tail whip instead wagging is tail as if to taunt her which does get her angry and definitely not worrying as much about defense for the moment. "Give it a dose of your Disarming Voice" Andy then calls, the puff releasing pink waves of energy that impact the pokemon as it tries covering its ears as the voice is a bit more of a scream due to being enraged earlier. While she calms down, the rattata gets even more pumped up and excited for this battle as it used focus energy before trying a quick attack again which knocks her over yet again, leaving her a bit dizzy this time as that had hit squarely. "Alright let's put him to sleep" Parfait needed no other cue and starts singing yet again, the lullaby hitting the rattatas ears and making him drowsy before he would fall asleep, two more pounds later, the mouse would be fainted, the other trainer recalling him back.

"Ah, no! Stay focused Apollo!" The puppy Pokémon had a happy smile on its face thanks to the sweetness in the air, but unfortunately it left an opening for Oddish to hit him with another Acid attack. Apollo howled and skidded across the ground; he wasn't out for the count though. Sorrel gazed at her Pokémon, determination in her eyes, "This battle isn't over until we win," she stated sternly, "Apollo, finish Oddish off with Flame Wheel!" Apollo barked as he ran towards Oddish, flames pouring out of his mouth before leaping up in the air and spinning in a Flame Wheel. Crashing down onto the weed Pokémon there was a small explosion, Apollo jumping back and standing in front of Sorrel in a readying position in case Oddish was going to attack again.

When the smoke cleared Oddish was laying on the ground, its eyes swirls. "Oh no! Oddish," Jake gasped at the sight of his fainted Pokémon. With a somewhat saddened look the boy withdrew his Oddish, slipping the PokéBall back into his school bag. But surprisingly he pulled out a second PokéBall, "You're right Sorrel," he said with a confident smirk, "This battle isn't over yet." Drawing his arm back Jake threw it towards the field, "Voltorb, I choose you!" Out popped a red and white, orb shaped Pokémon that sparked a few times.

Sorrel looked at her Growlithe as she contemplated her next move. It was obvious that there might not be a good chance it'd be able to take any of its electric type attacks before fainting. Pulling out Apollo's PokéBall the teen held it out towards him, "Apollo, return!" Apollo dissipated in a red light and was withdrawn back into his specific capsule, which Sorrel then put back in her pocket in exchange for another. A grin spread across her face as she casually tossed it up and down, "Now this getting interesting," she remarked before readying herself, "Alright Garret! I choose you!" Out from the PokéBall came Garret, the Gallade looking down at his opponent with a glare.

Rattata now dealt with, this trainer would toss out a bidoof. Given how long the previous battle went, Andy wasn't too sure Parfait could handle another one right now and so she is returned in favor of the Azurill. The bidoof would start with tackle which hits its target, though would be sent back by water gun soaking the beaver to its slight annoyance in the process. The other trainer doesn't seem too bothered by this as he would call for a rollout, the brown beaver now looking like a brown boulder as this would send Aqua rolling around before being tossed out of it for now. "Quick use a water gun before it turns around!" Andy calls thanks to this bidoof and ends up farther in the grass and out of its rolling for now.

The normal type charging again for another tackle; thanks to the increased distance, this would be dodged by Aqua just hopping off to the side, the bidoof coming off more like a charging bull. The water gun hits the pokemon from behind rather squarely sending him sprawling a bit, bidoof isn't done yet however as it does a defense curl before going into another rollout which hits hard due to the set up, Aqua dizzy again from this hit, another water gun wouldn't do much this time leaving her to be nailed again by the 2nd pass, the 3rd one, however, would barely miss grazing her tail and once again leaving the beaver open to being pushed into a tree this time and knocking it out. "Huh, you're very good sir, the name is Austin " he nods giving Andy a brief handshake at the battles ends before heading off. Andy now turning to Sorrels battle once things are said and done

Sorrel's smile didn't waiver as she stared at the battlefield, "Why don't we finish this quickly," she stated confidently to her opponent. "Use Psybeam!" Garret swiftly moved a hand in front of himself as he shot an eerie rainbow beam at the Voltorb, hitting it square on. Jake gasped as his Pokémon rolled backwards and noticed that the attack it just took was pretty effective, and strong. "Come on Voltorb! You can't give up yet!" The electric type buzzed and sparked as it looked towards its opponent, glaring daggers at it. Jake clentched his hands closed, balling his fists as he gritted his teeth, "Voltorb, use THunder Shock! Then follow up with Rollout!" Voltorb's body lit up as it shot a bolt of electricity at Garret, zapping him, before starting to charge at the Gallade relentlessly.

"Don't let it catch you! Keep dodging!" Garret nodded as he heeded his trainer's advice, jumping out of the way to avoid getting hit. Voltorb was fast, but Garret was just a little faster. "Don't let up Voltorb! Keep using Rollout," Jake shouted as his Pokémon continued to use the same move. Sorrel crossed her arms as she watched the scene in front of her unfold. It wasn't hard for her to figure out what Jake's plan was. He wanted to tire Garret out in order to achieve a win since he knew her Growlithe wasn't in tip top shape after the earlier battle. It was an interesting tactic. But Sorrel had an idea, and her smile gave it away. "Garret, use Psycho Cut over and over at the ground!"

Garret evaded Voltorb again, barely, before jumping back a ways. His elbow blades extended and shined a bright blue as he slashed the air repeatedly, each time purple blades of energy shot out and hit the ground. With the ground now cratered and battered, there was no smooth way Voltorb could attack. Before Jake could command it to stop the Voltorb accidentally bounced off one of these craters and launched itself into the air. Sorrel grinned as her opportunity arouse, "Now! Finish it off with Ice Punch!"

The Gallade jumped into the air, fist closed, and arm drew back as it turned blue and seemed to absorb an icy aura. Meeting the Voltorb in the air Garret swung his fist, hitting the electric type with his Ice Punch and sending it back down to the ground. When the dust settled it was clear the Voltorb was no longer able to battle. With a frown Jake withdrew his Pokémon, "You win," he mumbled a little sad as he looked up at Sorrel who had walked over to him with Garret at her side. The teen's smile turned soft as she placed a hand on the boy's head, "Hey, don't sweat this too much," her voice gentle as she spoke, "I can tell that you're going to become stronger. You just need to practice more, and believe in your abilities as a trainer. Ok!" Chuckling softly she patted his head, "I had fun battling you, Jake. We should battle again sometime," her statement caused Jake's mood to change a bit, now smiling instead of frowning, "I had fun too! Next time though I'm going to win! Just you wait!"

Soon the young boy waved his farewell before running off, presumably to go home. Sorrel looked to Garret with a smile, "Thanks for your hard work!" The Pokémon smiled softly to his trainer and nodding his head. Looking around she spotted Andy standing nearby, "Hey Andy," she shouted, waving her hand above her head, "I won my battle! What about you?"

"Yeah, I did win mine, congratulations by the way. " He adds as the two head back to the pokemon center again to heal up their pokemon. By now it's nighttime and while the normal trainers are fewer, Team Rocket is now around under the cover of darkness. Andy now not sure to continue to head to the next city or not .

He decides to continue going thru the park with Sorrel given that they were about halfway there already, eventually the park gives way to route 36, the moon in a cresent shape as they continue, " You know some pokemon only come out during the night, so we could get different encounters right now if we look for pokemon." Andy would explain to Sorrel., a few rustles are heard but they quickly fade off into the distance followed by a few flaps of wings.

Andy veers off into some patches of grass for the moment eager to see what pokemon are out during this time. Moving along the patch of grass , it would get just a bit denser before revealing not one but two pokemon in a clefairy and murrow. The two pokemon appearing to have a little dance in the moonlight. This cute scene is interrupted when Andy rustles the grass trying to get a bit closer.

Both pokemon would give the trainer a look before getting into some battle stances with the intent of causing some mischief, the prankster ways having rubbed off on the clefairy.

Andy sends out both his pokemon, the bird and fairy give them little glances before nodding that they were set for battle.

"Way to go!" Giving him a pat on the back before following the boy back into the city. When they got done at the Center night had fallen as the streetlamps to the side of the sidewalk slowly glowed to life.

The three traversed out of the city, through the park once again and headed towards Route 36. Eyes turning towards the moon Sorrel was in awe of the crescent shape it took, along with the stars that were scattered throughout the night sky. She snapped back into reality when felt a jab to the arm. When she turned her head back, she quickly realized that the jab was from Garret, who then pointed at Andy. It seemed like the Gallade was trying to get his trainer's attention because their travel companion was speaking. Sorrel listened to Andy as he spoke of certain Pokémon only coming out at night time. "Really? There are only Pokémon that like night time," she asked quizzically. It was the first time she ever heard of certain Pokémon being nocturnal.

Sorrel stopped as she watched the boy wander off into the darkness before trying to follow him. It was a bit hard with the limited amount of light, but she managed to find him. He was in the beginnings of a double battle with a Clefairy and a Murkrow. Not wanting to interrupt, Sorrel and Garret decided to sit a ways back in order to spectate. Even letting Apollo out of his PokéBall so he could sit on her lap. Sorrel holding onto the puppy Pokémon and leaning her head on him a bit while watching Andy's battle.

While Aqua and parfait would start off with a bubblebeam on the clefairy and disarming voice on the murkrow respectively, the clefairy would use Minimize while the bird goes for a peck on Aqua, doing a bit of damage. Due to the clefairy now being even smaller, a pound from the puff miss as does another bubblebeam due to the bird flying out of the way of it before both would use a sweet kiss on one of them each, murkrow doing this thru mimic leaving both rather cutely confused. The next two attacks in a water gun and disarming voice would go off but water gun misses the fairy while a pound hits the bird who uses a peck that would be dodged and clefairy uses a disarming voice of her own on the puff who would avoid those sound waves.

This would be looking good for andy at least till Parfait tries a sing, getting the fairy to sleep but not the bird. Parfait from this just seems to light up happily, someone finally staying awake for a whole song? She wasn't passing this up continuing the tune while the murkrow would relax from it but not fall asleep. The same cant be said for Andy and Aqua after the prolonged exposure (and possibly Sorrel and her pokemon as well). Seeing everyone involved in the battle currently having a bit of a nap the two that are awake have a bit of a dance themselves for a bit before Andy wakes up to the usual pouty faced Parfait though she would only be doing that to hide the happiness from the murkrow not falling asleep. The battle would resume after this, Parfait using a pound on the bird though she is busy watching the bird do a featherdance.

Once Aqua wakes up, another bubblebeam would barely miss followed by clefairy using its own sing and while this does put them to sleep again minus murkrow, this would be only used to take a few berries from the bag and possibly pokeballs, the group not going to sleep for too long after the two hide the gains. parfait having a smile on her face at the know while using a disarming voice which knocks out the krow for now and would get andy to throw a pokeball at this clefairy which thankfully chatches after a few shakes.

As Andy battled the two wild Pokémon, Sorrel continued to sit from a distance. The little moonlight there was made it hard to watch as her eyes had to focus hard on their silhouettes. "He's not bad," she mumbled softly while listening to the sounds of each Pokémon's attack. Soon enough though Parfait started to sing, causing the girl to quickly cover Apollo's ears and Garret to cover his trainer's ears. With most of the song muffled Sorrel and Apollo were only somewhat drowsy. Unfortunately, Garret had been more occupied on making sure his trainer didn't fall victim that he had become victim to the song himself. Slumping down and resting his head on the teen's shoulder a bit.

"Oh Garret," she chuckled softly before letting out a yawn, "You've always been a worrywart." Her tired gaze drifted towards Andy who was victim to his own Pokémon, causing her to let out a soft chuckle. Apollo turned his head up to his trainer and bumped her cheek gently with his nose, "I know, maybe we'll camp out tonight," she yawned.

After some time, it seemed that Andy and his Pokémon regained consciousness. Finishing their battle and successfully capturing the two Pokémon, Clefairy and Murkrow. Sorrel clapped her hands a bit as a form of praise/congratulations on his accomplishment.

"Well that was an interesting battle, thank you Sorrel" Andy then comments to her as it soon ends, Andy actually capturing the Clefairy and not the bird, it flying off a bit after the battle concludes. "At least now I do have 2 other pokemon with me after that, however, need to make a trip to the pokemon center to be sure they are alright. I do have potions though that won't really help the clefairy too much," he explains.

However this is where any perceived luck that Andy and Sorrel may have had finally runs out as on the way to Violet City both would be ambushed by some rather obvious team rocket type grunts, complete with full black outfits with the red R emblazoned on their centers,. Andy now not really looking to have a fight with these guys but after one demands to "give us your pokemon" Andy was not going to just surrender his under any circumstances. sending out Aqua for the moment while one sends out a zubat and another grunt sends out a Drowzee.

Thanks to that battle with the clefairy and krow pair, Parfait wasn't exactly ready to battle again having taken attacks from them during it. As such, Aqua is sent out first to try try and use a bubblebeam on the zubat which it is barely able to dodge while the bat would try a steel wing on her which hits and does alot of damage to the poor mouse. "Sorrel! Be careful he warns her as Drowzee begins battle with Sorrel.

Sorrel nodded her head as Apollo moved off her lap, allowing the girl to stand up and dust herself off. She returned the puppy Pokémon to his PokéBall before starting to follow Andy again. After a battle like that the idea of going to the Pokémon Center wasn't surprising as two of his three Pokémon were close to being out of commission. So she began to follow him once again with Garret at her side. He had managed to wake up when he felt his trainer move earlier.

Though it seemed that their luck had run out as they were ambushed by two strange looking people wearing black uniforms with a large red R in the middle. When they demanded the two give up their Pokémon, Sorrel couldn't help but to raise a brow. These must be those Team Rocket people Andy warned me about earlier, she thought herself as her gaze went unbroken. Soon enough, however, she was pulled back into reality as she heard Andy yell at her, causing her to blink and look towards the Drowzee that stood in her path.

"Woah! This chick has a Gallade! People would be willing to pay a pretty penny for one!" The grunt had a crooked smile on his face as he stood behind his Drowzee.

Garret calmly walked in front of his trainer, glaring menacingly at the Rocket member and his Pokémon. This seemed the make the two a bit nervous as they shivered. "Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen," Sorrel told the man as she tightened her ponytail, "You see, I'm not a fan of losing." A confident smile spread across her lips as she looked past Garret and towards the Drowzee, "Alright Garret! Shadow Ball!"

The Gallade drew his arms back as a ball of dark energy formed between his hands before throwing it at the Drowzee, hitting it square and causing it to fly backward.
