  • Lumine.jpg

    Name
    Lumina Whitlock

    Age
    28

    Race
    Human

    Occupation
Exorcist teacher/Sensei/ Dean of the school

    Rank
    Grade-S/ Special-grade

    Gender
    Female

    Height
    5'7

    Weight
    140Ibs

    Sexuality
    Bisexual

    Personality
Lumina has two personalities varying on accounts. Most times she's carefree, easy to approach, and lend a helping hand.
This can come off as immature or aloof, however, she is capable of being serious should the time arise.
This would be considered her second personality used for important situations such as on the battlefield or during a conference with higher authorities. Her presence can be intimidating causing the room to tense up.
It's not uncommon for her to be a little lax when in battle as she loves a good fight. Her demeanor can change depending on how personally she takes the mission.

    History
Lumina’s upbringing was one of loneliness. Being gifted in her family meant being blessed, but for Lumina it became a curse. Raised in a wealthy household, and forced to be an exorcist at a young age. Everyday she strived for perfection for fear of being ostracized by her family. Living a normal life was not granted and thus isolated from social contact. It wasn't until her teenage years did she finally make friends through a pact by demons.

Her first contract with a demon, Sedilia, was rather hard as Lumina internally fought to pretend to be professional and only using Sedilia for work. In time, she grew quite close, learning to be a better person, understanding what it means to be an exorcist. Through her growth, her heart was no longer cold, feeling a sense of peace. It’s on that day Lumina found her purpose to be a teacher and enlighten the next generation to break the old rules of exorcists to become greater.\

    Weapons

    None

    Power
    Gravity

    Techniques
1.) Mass- Allows the user to touch anything and add weight to it. They can adjust the pounds as they please.

2.) Force-field- A barrier surrounds the user at all times. This can be used to shield allies, though it is an invisible force it is there for protection. It can be turned off whenever the user chooses. The force-field allows them to halt an attack or object thrown at them and then repel it.

3.) Levitation- As long as the enemy or object is within a radius [50ft] they can lift a person or object off the ground

4.) Pressure- This is similar to 'Mass' where the object or surroundings will be crushed by the pressure. This can cause the area to tremble

5.) Float-The user can fly/ walk on air

6.) Anti-Gravity: When the scythe swings at the target whether from a distance or close range, it can crush the area where the enemy stands. Though it is an invisible force, it can be sensed enough for a person to dodge. If countered correctly an attack could save them, but should they block will only activate the ability. The blast can be changed from mild to heavy or instant death.

    Spells
Lux Vincula [light bonds/binds]- Golden chains that bind a demon

Clausa Cavea [Closed Cage]- Cages a demon behind a golden cube of glyphs

Lux scutum [shield]- glyph shield is summoned. It can change size by adding 'manga' [large in Latin] to the spell

Labyrinthum [Labyrinth]- Creates a labyrinth separating the demon from the exorcist by warping the area around them. Best used inside a building, but can be used as an emergency to escape or create distance from the enemy enough to close the gap and cause damage

Lux Scala [Light Stairway]- Creates floating gold platforms. This can be useful to catch someone in mid-air or cut across through the air

Bio

Bio
Many if not most gifted humans come from prestigious lines of Exorcist Dynasties, born and bred for the war against the Demon menace. Many, but not all.

Evan was born to poor parents. His mother had always been sickly and his father had a penchant for drinking, and in their poor corner of the world there was little in the way of work to be had. His father kept their meager economy afloat by bootlegging and day to day manual labor for sketchy bosses. Often food was sparse, and similarly often the power didn't work, but what they lacked as functioning members of society they made up for with love. Even when the cold crept past the threshold and in through the windows, they had each other, blankets, and enough floor boards broken loose to fire up the stove and boil some tea. Even when the hunger pangs kept him awake, there was a lullaby sweet enough to soothe him. They were unfortunate, but unwilling to succumb to it.

He always had a vivid imagination, they said. There were few children around, so Evan had to make up his own friends. Friends that sometimes bordered on scary. Sometimes they told Evan things that he couldn't have known, like when he told his mother that father had been fired from work hours before he came home, sad and stinking of alcohol. Like when he begged his mother not to sell the silverware, because grandma got those as a wedding from her best friend. It was harmless, they thought, and laughed the little oddities away. All the time until mother caught pneumonia, passed away, and Evan began speaking to her at night.

Father was broken-hearted and begged his son to stop, but when Evan began to provide proof that indeed, mother was still there with them, father finally began suspecting something.

Evan was brought before a local retired Exorcist who confirmed that Evan was followed by not only the spirit of his Mother, but a number of ghosts taking form through some form of magic. Hoping for a better future for his son, father convinced the elderly Exorcist to teach him how to use his gift, and reluctantly he agreed.

He spent many years under his former master, until a particularly cold winter shook the town and robbed him of both his father and the old Exorcist - but it did not manage to get the young man down. Death wasn't the end, not in his company. Surrounded by the ghostly presence of strangers, friends, and family alike, Evan set out for Valenheim City to try to build a brighter future for himself. One, perhaps, with a water heater.

Personality
Evan's close relationship to death throughout his life has made him nonchalant towards it. He's a fun-loving guy, unwilling to submit to tense atmospheres or grave conversations. He likes to see himself as the hero of some tale for children, the knight in shining armor here to save the princess and slay some dragons, and has a very difficult time taking in the actual severity of a situation. Since he grew up with very few friends outside the ghosts that haunt him, he's excited to make alive friends his own age. The remote town he came from didn't see a lot of demons either, so he's yet to develop a negative bias towards them.

Goal
To be a famous hero and renowned Exorcist. Maybe also to learn to control his power enough that he can finally have some privacy.

Exorcist Specialties

Weapon
Evan has inherited two large blades from his former master, an Odachi and a massive cleaver, both hanging from his figure by leather straps. What he lacked in control over his natural gift he made up for with his weapon proficiency, as he's managed to sanctify both blades for use against Demons.

Power
Ectoplasm
Balls of glowing blue energy hover around Evan and follow him wherever he walks, invisible to those lacking Mana. These wisps are formed from a thick, rubber-like foreign substance nicknamed ectoplasm, as it's shown the capacity to invite the spirits of the dead, allowing Evan to hear their whispers and command them to aid him in combat. The "wisps" can currently not number more than four, and when Evan expends one to fuel his techniques it takes a few seconds for it to reform. This recovery time increases for every "wisp" he expends, until he has time to rest. Since the ectoplasm is subconsciously crafted from Evan's latent Mana, they have the potential to create a plethora of effects.

Techniques
Spirit Boost - Evan can command a wisp to merge back into his body, boosting his physical strength and speed for a few seconds.
Paranatural Regeneration - Evan can command a wisp to merge back into his body, specifically targeting a fresh wound. This can regenerate cuts and bruises almost instantly, and help reduce the severity of more extreme injuries.
Soul Cleaver - By merging a wisp with his weapon it gains a glowing blue aura, and Evan's next attack with the weapon is far more destructive.
Spirit Martyr - A wisp can quickly interpose themselves between Evan and an attack, sacrificing itself to reduce the attacks power if not stopping it outright.

Demon CS WIP

Appearance: spiritsedit.png
True Form/Monster Appearance: A small, hunched creature, more snow rabbit than human in the hinds and with thin, black, skeletal hands. Long, white hair–brushed meticulously–falling in waves across the back. A face, recognizable as a person, but somehow wrong. Upon approach, it seems to shift, human then not. Blood-filled eyes and a broken nose, hooked teeth penetrating the lower lip. A glowing spine, underneath translucent fur, a black vascular system shimmering through the skin.

Name: Alaska Kurota

Race: Demon

Proclaimed Gender: ….Female.

Height: 5’8”

Weight: ~102lbs

Occupation: A slave – one suited to work that required dexterous fingers. The seaming of flesh and fabric alike. The movement of blood, hardened to stiffen skin into shape.

Sexuality: Bisexual

Personality: If it were not for her contract, Alaska might have been described as meek, both avoiding conflict that does not benefit her and seeking placation in the warmth. But the violence awakens something in her. Alaska is sharp and alert, ready and watchful. Moments of true comfort are rare, but the desperate need might be kept away through warm sweaters, waiting, just waiting for the heat of life. She still feels more animal than human. Predatory. The heat of humanity – that generated in the spaces of their gathering, and of course fire, and all kinds of ways to stimulate it – fascinates her enough to appease that beast. And that warmth coalesces when they speak to each other, those man-beasts that are bonded, warmth surging through their bodies in laughter and love and sex. She is parallel to humanity, the seekers of heat, but producing none of her own. This parasitic engagement is somewhat distressing, to a predator, but that warmth might be produced through her words and not her body. Alaska is trying to capture the same attributes of humanity she admires: but she is still cold, somewhat forced, and always watchful.

History only in the mortal realm: First it was the warmth.

The running down of mortals and mortal creatures that slipped through the gaps. The warmth of their bodies, not enough to satiate her, only to draw her into temptation. Teeth closing around the jugular, greedily drinking, tearing through flesh for her consumption. Rabid fury, rapid violence. A loss of interest as they too-quickly went cold. The slow, careful stripping of tendons, useful in her work. Eventually, she was allowed to pass through to the mortal realm, to find those sacrificial lambs at the edges of the world.

Before that, she had never crossed the plane herself, never seen a man or beast not admitted into the world of ice, flawless and bloody. Their bodies froze so quickly there her satisfaction could only be temporary. She patrolled the Edge for the transgressors, both wayward and implanted, to use in her crafts. Flesh and bone, sinew and blood. Breathtaking. Beautiful.

It was the warmth.

It was the time of year for it. In the coldest echoes of the deep winter, deep in the tundra, one of the small tears between the realms opened. A seam so slight a human might not perceive it, but a demon might freely pass through. It was the glistening of some small curiosity within her dulled mind, shimmering as brightly as the planar sheen, that spurred her forward through this gap.

Out of the still cold, but into another, wind biting against her pelt. She kept moving. It took a long time–if she had had any concept of time–but she kept to the same motion, eventually coming upon a small series of houses. In the back of her mind, the compulsion to return to her duty pulled her toward home, but there were many things she had never seen before: low sodden houses, livestock, smoke.

In through a small hatch, likely meant for a cat, and she entered an empty house. A fire still burned in the hearth, and the warmth invigorated her. She had never felt anything like it. The demon herself produced no heat, but the feeling was warm and inviting. She settled in the wood pile and fell into a deep sleep.

Woken by anxiety, missing her post, the demon realized she was not alone. Warily, she crept forward, bloodshot eyes peeking out to watch the humans move about. She did not understand what they were doing, but felt some affinity to them just the same. When they left again, she slipped away, back in the direction she had come.

Of course, she was punished harshly for her absence, which she could not and did not explain. This pattern continued through the season. The demon would finish their work and wander off, in the guise of sleeping, only to emerge through the portal back into the warmth.

In the end, though, it was the cat that sold her out.

Though she gave off no smell it could identify as animal–waste, blood, or exhalation–the thing caught her movement in the woodpile and was relentless. She hid at its rear until the humans returned, and investigated that which the cat had cornered, pulling piece after piece from the pile afore her. The demon tried to hide her face. Pulled from the spot bodily, blood leaking in anxious tears down her face, she writhed. The human screamed, dropping her, backing away.

She ended up in a small cage, meant for the trapping of cats, but no matter how long she sat there she did not die. Repeatedly, she asked in a crackling voice for less cold, but her requests were not answered. In time, an exorcist was called. The box was picked up with little but a few words. It was wrapped in shipping material, sent across the country. The hand that plucked her out of the box next–cowering in its corner–sent small but painful shocks through her body. A holy force. She shuddered from it, but the person holding her about the middle like any other rabbit did not speak until she stilled.

“Hey there, little demon. They told me you liked the warmth.” The office was pleasant, barring the holy symbols on the walls, which made the fur at the back of her neck stand up. When he let her down, she moved toward a small space heater that had been put on the desk, calmed by its emanating heat. “Yes. Selfish–should go home, lost the path.”

“You could have a new home. A warm path.”

Power: Alaska could be said to have dominion over lifeblood, that expressed from the body of a human or demon in the near-immediacy, still possessing its heat. Her body undergoes some small changes to more effectively extract this blood.

Techniques:
Bones to Knives: Alaska’s teeth are already sharp, but grinding them into her lips elicits a sharper state, serrated and ready. Similarly, her fingernails biting into her hands and producing ichor to coat them leaves them jagged, sharp and curved.

Serrated Extraction: Using a serrated blade embedded in flesh - teeth, claws, spears, or even arrows which she has managed to grab the shaft of after firing - Alaska pulls back, blood bubbling at the edge of the blade and providing it additional barbs. The spray of blood that usually results is best left undescribed.

Living Doll: With the blood of a chosen enemy upon her skin, Alaska might cut or beat her bloodied flesh, sharing the injury with those whose blood is upon the spot. Injuries to her skin not inflicted by her when bloodied with another’s blood have a lesser effect on the target affected, with about half as much damage being done. The control of another’s limbs (with enough blood) might be possible for a more powerful demon, but Alaska is not so proficient with such an ability.

Realm: A realm of sparkling ice. The perusal of beauty and vanity, both intricate and horrific, tendrils of frozen blood glittering against silks and jewels. Blinding light, but no heat.

Goals: Initially, it was very easy–being in the grasp of the exorcists, she was somewhat coerced to make a pact, as death was the alternative. However, interactions with humans had placed within her a need for warmth not allowed in her own realm, and through social contact she has begun to realize that warmth extends to the way these humans deal with others–people and animals alike. This is something she wants to protect. Afraid of going home, and faced with an alternative that aligns with her awakened fondness of humankind, Alaska intends foremost to fully awaken her humanity.

PERSONALITY

Goal(s) Primary: To obtain the rarest gems on Earth (to consume); Secondary: To have people covet his creations

Sexuality Demisexual; timophilia

Should one bother to ask what sin Vas is guilty of, it would be difficult to determine whether it was pride or greed. Perhaps he is amalgamation of both; a demon that dips his toes into two realms of carnal desire. It is true that Vas takes great pride in that which he creates. Whether it is the perfection recreation of the barrel of a gun or a blade by which he poured his very creative self into, all that he creates he adores. In some cases, he may even hold malice and ill-will towards those that endanger his creations, even if said objects are doing exactly what they were intended for. This is not to say he would rush blindly into battle to protect something he created, but he would sooner allow a car to fly off a cliff than see a scuff on iron he had worked.

Pride aside, what often drives Vas to create is his appetite. His home realm of Flumen Metalli is primarily one of metal with few gemstones. Whether that is because there are few left or that it simply never had many to begin with is uncertain, but what it does mean is that the precious gems and minerals his species finds so delicious are rare. Even with their long lives, those of his demonic race may only see a small variety over their time. The mortal realm, however, is full of these gems. As are other realms, of which he would gladly accept gems and stones from if only to consume. Not all gems are equal in flavor and as with any being, taste and texture are subjective. Vas has a strong preference for gems which are primarily clear, or at least only cloudy, and have a hardness between seven and nine. Diamonds are often too hard for his taste, even if perfectly clear. Rubies, emeralds, and sapphires are in line with his preferences, and for a large, perfectly clear cut of stone, he would do terrible things or trade immense work. That is not to say he will not expand his palette; in fact, he adores tasting that which he has never before. It is because of that trait that he has found a few outliers to his normal flavor preferences, such as pearls and jade.

Outside of the two driving forces of his appetite and his craftsman nature, Vas enjoys the more refined parts of life. Fine wines and expensive beverages to feast on with a plate of freshly cultivated pearls are a site in heaven for him; and yes, he can taste the difference between the naturally grown ones and those made in a lab. He can appreciate art from painting to sculptures, knowing the effort and attention to detail that goes into each nuanced part of a piece. Vas, by nature, is indulgent, hedonistic, and arguably one of the least dangerous demons one can encounter, so long as they can afford to appease him. It is not impossible to distract him with an offer to view a local museum or gallery, so long as he has not been to it before. Once he grows bored, however, he is known to become somewhat mischievous, going to somewhat Machiavellian lengths to create his own entertainment.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Racial Heritage: Scalisuis Within the burning realms of Flumen Metalli is a race of demons known as the Scalisuis, or Scaled Ones. These lizard-like demons bath in the rivers of molten metal that flow through their homeland and seek out riches if only in hopes of finding rare gemstones their race considers a delicacy. Within their home realm, Scaled Ones are considered one of the smaller and less brutish of the Demonic Races that serve their lord, Vuk'lar. Scaled Ones typically make for talented craftsman and traders within their realm, though some are known to become warriors. Scaled Ones also benefit from the ability to lose any limb and regrow it with time; it is not uncommon for one to actually take considerable damage to a limb and sever it for it to heal cleanly. Their love of rare gemstones and minerals is no mere pass time; the consumption of these delicacies can increase their regenerative abilities. This is not unlike the consumption of blood or flesh for other demonic races. This race is long-lived and over time can develop unique patterns to their scales, representing the unique gemstones and minerals they had consumed in life. When it comes time for these demons to mate, the quality of their scales is the most prized factor in partner selection for procreation, even above size or strength. Vas can convert iron he consumes into Infernal Iron over time, which then will flow through his body and taint his scales a marred black. Infernal Iron is a demonic metal used in the metallurgy of his realm (and potentially others with a similar material) to create weapons of far greater strength and durability than regular steels. Infernal Iron is incredibly receptive to magic of nearly all kind and can be fashioned into weapons on par with divine or otherwise holy weapons when worked by skilled hands and a sufficiently hot forge. Once Infernal Iron is tempered and cooled, it will not deform until temperatures reach an excess of 8,000 degrees Fahrenheit--nearly three times that of steel.

Power

Infernal Forging During the forging process, Vas can imbue an object with his mana, resulting in it becoming a magical item. As a magic item, it is more effective at channeling magic / energy. If Vas infuses a curse during forging, said infusion will become a longer-lasting Infernal Enchantment. For most activated curses, the object will gain a set number of "charges" it can cast that spell before it becomes inert. For more passive effects, the object will gain the ability to toggle on/off the enchantment at the activation of a user with sufficient magical control. Infernal Enchantments can last months to years depending on use, but will always ultimately fade. Objects crafted with Infernal Iron (or any alloy, such as Infernal Steel) posses all traits of Infernal Iron and will either have longer-lasting or more potent Enchantments.

Techniques

Flesh Forging Due to the rarity of Infernal Iron, Vas will cut off his own tail (as it will regenerate and eventually repopulate with Infernal Iron) as to use it in Infernal Forging. While his flesh is ultimately burned away, the Infernal Iron and trace elements left behind make their way into a unique alloy of Infernal Steel. Objects that use his flesh as a component allow Vas to pull said object to him as if magnetically, have any spell he may normally cast via touch cast on it indirectly, and will grant him a general sense of its location so long as it is within a a short distance of his location. If an object is a less reasonable distance from him, he may know the general direction it is in relation to him. Notably, it is nearly impossible to determine if there is any flesh within an object.

↪ Vas can utilize biological material from an individual upon request, such as hair or blood, to attune a magical object to them. In such case, the object may also be pulled to the individual at their will (if they possess the skill to do so) and will be more receptive to their spells / curses.

Infernal Infusion Vas can imbue any weapon or munitions he touches with his energy to result in an effect similar to a Curse he or a Demon assisting him can cast. While an object is infused, it's durability will greatly increase, resulting in metals not losing their temper regardless of their heat, being resistant to cracks and warpage, and retaining their blade edge longer. An infusion is temporary, lasting no more than one half-hour, upon manual cancellation, or if the object has ultimately expended the energy Vas infused. If no specific Curse is selected, the Infernal Infusion will default to (1) igniting the object into magical flames and (2) causing the object to heat until it is glowing red. In addition to the fire and heat, the weapon or munition will subsequently be considered a magical item.

Infernal Forgehammer While technically any hammer could become his Infernal Forgehammer with sufficient time and use, Vas currently uses a cross peen hammer he has affectionately named Pulchra. Pulchra is capable of shifting its form; it may change its head to multiple sizes or shapes for the sake of forging and even greatly shift in weight and size depending on its use. Pulchra is highly effective at channeling the energy of Vas. Not just his demonic energy, but literal kinetic energy. He may strike incredibly light with absolute precision or with the force of a wrecking ball, depending on what he needs in the given situation. If thrown, Pulchra will return to him. If touched by someone else, Puchra will attempt to burn them. If stolen, Vas can track Pulchra to the edges of the Earth. Pulchra can vary in weight and size greatly, ranging from that of a regular human-sized hammer to a behemoth requiring the use of both of his hands in his full demonic form.

Pride of the Smith Vas grows considerably stronger based on how many individuals are actively using an item he has crafted within large area around his current location. Big or small, weapon or jewelry, knowingly or unknowingly, so long as an individual is somehow using an item, he gains this benefit. The prerequisite for an item to have been considered crafted by him is the item must have been crafted willingly, for a purpose, and he must be willing to claim he crafted it (this can include items he has mended or modified). Items that have been repaired by anyone after Vas will not count, though minor modifications will not negate this benefit. Inert or depleted magic items will still count towards this total. In the event an individual is using multiple items Vas has crafted, the benefit will only occur once from that individual.

Biography
Vas entered the plane on the island state of Hawai'i. The energy that composed his body taking form to bath in the flowing lava of Mauna Loa, even forming his beloved hammer, Pulchra. That was the end of the good news for him as nothing but confusion followed. The glowing red substance of this world was not of molten metal, but of rock, and flowed much slower. While the igneous stone itself had a different flavor to it, it wasn't substantially better than the common earth of his home plane. The atmosphere was substantially colder to his skin. The sun was bright in the blue sky instead of shielded by black clouds and a gray horizon. Once he had finally finished assessing the volcanic mountain top he was summoned to, he looked out to the unending sea. All that came before merely confused him, but seeing water for as far as the eye could see utterly shocked him.

This realm was nothing like his old home.

Vas was found on his way down the mountain. He had assessed the dirt and stone he could find; it was all young and soft, simply spewed up by the volcano. There might have been traces of the metals he needed, but he would have to venture elsewhere to find them in the volume necessary for his work. Unfortunately, Vas never made it to the crushed stone mines of Hawai'i where he could have found exactly that. He was intercepted beforehand, as one does to a demon traversing an island-state. When confronted, he mere began asking questions about this new world...

He asked why the sky was such a bright shade of blue and why the water was an even deeper hue--why and how both seemed to go on forever...

He even had to ask what exactly water was.

He asked why the dirt was so poor in that mountain and he why found no gems.

He asked why the rivers that flowed were of molten stone and not metal.

After he berated is soon-to-be captures with questions, he was told he could have all the answers he wanted so long has he had no intention of fighting or harming anyone.

Fight? No, he told them he didn't want a fight. What he wanted was a forge.

MISCELLANEOUS

- His home realm, Flumen Metalli, literally means "flowing metal", reflecting its primary characteristic of having rivers of molten metal coursing through it.

- He is absurdly heavy in his proper Demon form due to the copious Infernal Iron inside his blood/tissue/scales.

Pulchra Reference
Hand-forged-english-style-cross-peen-2.jpg

Curse of the Blazing Forge Vas can apply this curse to any target within a fifty-foot radius of the Hellfire Forge when it is summoned and can reapply it after it is cleansed, unless some form of curse protection is put in place or a sufficiently powerful counter-curse is in place. The activation phrase for this curse is "Uri Vivit" and must be resaid for any subsequent applications. Targets that remain in the radius of the forge will slowly have their internal temperatures raise and in turn be flooded with the cursed energy of the forge. The increase to their internal temperature can eventually become fatal and occurs at an approximate rate of 1 degree Fahrenheit per minute. The flood of cursed energy into their body will interrupt the flow of energy for both exorcists and even other demons, unless their specific energy happens to be similar enough to make use of the curse.

Curse-Shot: Conflandum Vas concentrates his energy into a sphere of glowing orange mass. "Conflandum" must be said as a verbal component to fire this curse. The orange mass is fired at a high speed and upon contact will explode into an approximate three foot diameter of 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately thirty seconds before rapidly cooling off. (This is effectively a ranged napalm attack).

Weapon Curse: Obsidio A curse specifically bestowed upon a weapon used for bludgeoning. "Obsidio" must be said as a verbal component to activate this curse and direct contain must be maintained to continue it. While Obsidio is active, the weapon will take on a shiny, black hue and any contact it has with constructs comprised of or enhanced by energy will result in the structure of those constructs becoming drastically weakened, and in the case of some weaker energy constructs, violently breaking down.

Molten Metal Shield Vas can conjure a shield of molten metal around himself, a target he can touch, his exorcist, or an object (and its wielder) in made from Flesh Forging. This molten metal shield is a circle of approximately four feet in diameter burning at three thousand degrees Fahrenheit, though it does not radiate heat through the air. The shield will quickly adapt and shift to, if possible, counter incoming attacks or prevent its target from being burned. The shield floats around the target, unaffected by gravity, but cannot extend further than three feet from its target. When applied to himself, this shield can be willfully controlled by Vas to augment his offense.

Hellfire Forge Vas can summon a forge from his plane of existence, so long as sufficient room is present. The forge is approximately 6 foot long by 4 foot wide, surrounded by a grey stone, and the back half of it is covered by an oven-like frame and door that reaches an additional 4 feet over the 1 foot base of the forge. Inside of the forge is a pool of molten metal burning at a constant 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The forge can be "stoked" by pouring mana into it, raising this temperature as high as 15,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This forge will radiate heat over time. This forge also acts as a storage for a set amount of Infernal Iron weapons, which can be conjured undamaged from the pool of molten metal.

Vas hails from the realm known as Flumen Metalli. It is a realm of ever-burning flames where cursed energy flows through the ground alongside the molten metal in rivers that dance and intertwine in the landscape carved by heat and erosion. Where there are not rivers of molten metal, there are mountains of dense stone and black glass that scale higher than any peak found on Earth. Here in this plane, water is alien and the cold can only be found within the mountains, which soar above the ashen clouds that blanket the sky.

This entire realm is ruled by one lord: the Great Demonic Drake, Vuk'lar. This world, the planet, was once divided by lands and peoples, but such ended with the legions of Vuk'lar. His might brought together an entire world for the sake of growing in power to eventually war with his brother and sisters. All that occurs on Flumen Metalli is for the sake of Vuk'lar and his legions. His army. His might. His magic. Yet, he is not cruel. His people are ruled fairly and his cruelty is saved for his siblings.

This was the world Vas was born into. Or, more aptly, Viavas of Clan Scaliszar. His clan one of many mystical beliefs, one that felt he was born with a great many auspicious signs. Viavas hatched seventh, an odd number which was a good omen. He was the smallest of his clutch; another good omen as their species valued those small in stature instead of large. He was born with already-blackened scales, meaning he inherited the Infernal Ironbood. But, perhaps the most important sign of all: he survived the attempted siblicide within his clutch. The Scalisuis are born ravenous and will seek to consume anything, including their kin. His older sibling tried exactly that, and failed as his black scales were too hard to bite into. The same could not be said for the sibling before and after Vas, both victims of the Viavant, fifth of her clutch, Vas' older sister.

From the beginning, it was believed that Vas would bring honor to Clan Scaliszar and earn praise from their great Lord Vuk'lar. The Scalisuis were not a race of warring lizardman or beasts like many others from within their realm. They were smaller than most, intelligent, and capable. They made for excellent craftsmen and traders. Their relatively peaceful nature made them well-liked by the legions of Vuk'lar that ruled the lands as it meant they would abide by rules and rarely rebel. Even if they tried, they weren't particularly strong compared to many of the other races.

Vas was selected by the Legions of Vuk'lar during the culling of his region. His desirable traits and relatively high intellect made him a candidate for a high-level tradesman. His rank would be comparable to one of the knights or high warriors of the Legions of Vuk'lar. It was a raise in status from just his clan name, which at least meant he belonged to a family. In all reality, that Clan name of his held little value beyond tracing back lineages for selective breeding. This elevation in status afforded Vas an actual education within the loose society his world knew, and he took to that far better than anyone had expected.

Vas learned the languages of his homeland and had tried various different trade skills before selecting one. Ultimately, he chose the path of the smith. Within the legions of Vuk'lar, this made him valuable as forged weapons could make a large different in the grand battles to come. What they wanted were weapons of war, plain and simple. Battle claws for the beast races to use, weapons composed of infernal iron and reinforced to be used by the races that far exceeded Vas. In his realm, he even as an adult was a dwarf in comparison to many of the soldiers. He may have held status, but that only because his role aided the warfront.

The truth, though, is that Vas never cared much for the crafting of weapons. He preferred to create items of luxury and beauty. As did some of his clientele. His realm did not have a formal currency, but valued quite highly the gems mined from the massive mountains on the poles. Beyond the superficial dirt was often stone as hard many gems themselves, and mining was no small task. This meant the most delicious gems were in fact items of rare luxury. A luxury that Vas had learned to love ever since his mentor gifted him his first upon his promotion to an expert smith. A love that became a driving force for the remainder of his life.

Vas would create jewelry and elegant armor that was visually pleasing and in turn would sell them for gems of high quality to feast upon. It was a simple exchange and one that many might believe was harmless. However, it shifted the market in a way that the legion of Vuk'lar noticed and ultimately Vuk'lar did not approve of. This jewelry, these items and armor of splendor, they were a waste of resources and in many cases, inferior to a simpler variation in terms of protection or weight. The knights and soldiers wore them as they were appealing not only to the eye, but to aspiring mates. Bright colors that were unnatural to most races, such as blue and green, were proven-effective ways of capturing attention.

That market was crushed, but Vas was not punished. A good ruler knew the value of an individual that could create and market what the people wanted. The fact he traded his goods for such high priced gems meant he knew the people. The fact he was also a peaceful, intelligent denizen of the land also made him less of a liability. It made him a fine selection to offer for a pact. Rare though it was, pacts from various worlds were ways of securing greater power in the long run. Power that could also aid a war. There were plenty of powerful warriors to choose from, many loyal and capable, but they came with a fault: they knew but one thing... war.

To foster a proper relationship, a warrior was not the most suitable choice. For all the power they may share, they were harder to control and known to backfire. But, a craftsman? A smith that knew the wants of the people so well that he could convince his brethren of uneven trades? That could serve the realm well...

Vas wanted the opportunity to for his creations to be relished, desired, and appreciated. He wanted the chance to expand and indulge in new tastes. This would allow him to do all the things he wanted while serving his Lord and avoiding any punishment. He would become the offering for his Lord should a pact arise, and he would serve his Lord dutifully... with the same attention he also served his indulgences.

What he needed was a partner that desired independence. One that did not want all of their problems answered by a Demon or to draw all their power from a pact. What he needed was someone who refused to share the spotlight. Someone that would allow himself to slink into the shadows. Someone that would only draw on the strength of another in the most dire of circumstances. Hopefully, a partner that knew the value of an opportunity and possessed the drive to seize it.

Name: Ains

Race: Wizard Demon

Proclaimed Gender: Male

Height: 180cm

Weight: 200lbs

Occupation: Warrior

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality:
Ains is at first glance a seemingly calm and calculated behind those tinted shades of his. This is but a small piece to the bigger puzzle that is his personality. He is just as likely to ham it up and act as theatrical as possible if he feels the need to. The works of human and demon poets interest him greatly, being what he spends his free time looking at. Ains is the type of person to tell half-truths based on the situation, feeling just as comfortable lying to an enemy as he would a friend. He will allow people to make their assumptions and use that to get what he wants. Arcane power is his utmost desire, the understanding of all things being at the top of his list. Overall Ains is someone who is difficult to get along with and even more difficult to understand.

History only in the mortal realm: Thousands of quills scrawling down theory after thesis. Explosions around the clock. This was how Ains remembers his time among his people. Wizard-Demons are dedicated to the study of anything and everything. The root of all creation as their single goal. His own rigorous experiments and theory crafting earning him nothing. If he could not learn all there was to reach the root, then he would simply have to force his way there. Such a straightforward method would require something outside the bounds of his home. A kind of power only obtained by a demon either incredibly curious or incredibly desperate.

Ains began his journey in the human realm by listening in on Shakespeare in the park. It was a rather trite and simplistic version of King Lear. Developing an interest in the arts after observing the human performers. He chose to spend his time afterward delving into what could only be described as centuries worth of the arts which had eluded him within the demon realm. Poetry and Philosophy became an interest which further fueled his desire to understand how things worked. After he was located by Exorcists and very kindly offered a cell to read in. Ains later agreed to the prospect of partnering with a worthy human. His goal after all was to attain the power to reach the root of the universe, the far simpler power of a pact between man and demon being the wildcard he needed to begin the process.

Name: Desmond “Des” Moore

Age: 19

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Height: 5’8

Weight: 135 lbs

Sexuality: Bisexual

Personality: Desmond is a kindhearted person despite his moody demeanor. He is someone who puts others first rather than himself, almost to a fault. Despite this, he tends to show no mercy to any and all demons. In contrast, outside of missions he usually is pretty laid back, despite having slight resentment for the God Of Light

History:
Desmond comes from a long line of exorcists that date back to the inception of the demon invasion. Those who were blessed by the god of light would be rigorously trained to become powerful exorcists and those who weren’t usually took on supporting roles, such as medics for the exorcists. Desmond was somewhat of a late bloomer with his powers and mostly lived in the shadow of his older brother, a prodigy among his family. Instead of jealousy, Desmond looked up to his brother as a source of inspiration. Wanting to be just as strong as him so that one day he could fight along side him. The time that they would spend together was limited, as the family elders would usually train his brother for countless hours to even entire days. Despite this the bond they forged was seemingly unbreakable.

When his power finally manifested, he was excited to show his brother. Only to be met with disgust as his power wasn’t that of light origin, but that of something akin to darkness. The family members thought that he was cursed, someone who was forsaken by the God of Light. A blight on the family tree. Some of his family accused him of being a demon. He was ostracized and beaten, no one in the family wanted to train him. His only break from the constant abuse was his brother who offered to train him in secret. His brother not only to fight and control his powers, but also the value of a human life and that it’s the job of an exorcist to not only kill demons, but protect those who can’t protect themselves. This mentality stuck with him for years. Everything seemed like it was going well for Desmond, until one faithful day. A high tier demon attacked the family’s estate. Desmond’s brother was the first one to engage with it in combat. Both the demon and his brother were seemingly in a stalemate, as both of them had no advantage over the other. It was until Desmond appeared from his hiding spot that his brother became distracted, giving the demon a chance to inflict a devastating blow on him. Desmond’s brother retaliated with an equally devastating attack. The demon shrunk back in fear and opened an opened a portal to flee. Desmond’s brother sheathed his sword and tossed it to Desmond. He looked back at him and smiled before tackling the demon into the portal. The portal closed, both the demon and his brother were never seen again. Before Desmond had time to process all of this, the family was quick to shift the blame on him. Saying that his “curse” is responsible for all this. Before they could grab the sword from him, Desmond simply ran away from the estate. He didn’t know where he ran off to. All he could do was run with his brother’s sword.

It wasn’t long until he found himself on the outskirts of Valenheim City where a nearby orphanage was located. At first, he was reluctant to go in. But seeing how he didn’t have anywhere to go back to, he had no choice. The head of the orphanage was a caring old lady and Desmond in with open arms after he explained his situation, which was surprising. He thought that explaining his powers would make him seem like a freak. But the old lady reassured him, saying that his power is a gift just like any other. With that reassurance, for the first time in his life, Desmond felt like he belonged. For the past few years, he decided himself to helping around the orphanage. With things such as cooking, cleaning, and other chores. In his spare time, he would usually train with his brother’s sword. It was only until recently that the old lady decided it was best for him to train at an academy rather than here. At first, Desmond was hesitant. Since his family was a prolific exorcist clan, his name would be tracked and his family would find him. The old lady then offered a solution: Use her last name, Moore. Desmond was surprised by Ms. Moore’s idea, but it seemed like a simple yet effective way to cover his identity. With a newfound resolve and a newfound identity, Desmond prepared himself to head out into the city, ready to join the new exorcist branch in hopes of finding answers for his brother’s location

History in the Mortal World
Plutoun is Mistress Whitlock's loyal servant. He appeared unremarkably within the Mortal Realm, and was offered a pittance of a Pact in return for his life.

Personality
Plutoun is manservant first and foremost. Everything he does seems to be under the orders of Lumina or directly to her benefit. He's always close at hand when she calls, and carries out her wishes without complaint. Nothing so far has managed to issue an emotional response from him, and every time he speaks it is only as if he is trying to imitate the cadence and tonality of human linguistic patterns.

PERSONALITY

Goal(s) To defend humanity

Sexuality Asexual

Percy is a blunt instrument. He is judgmental, short-tempered, and only sees the end-goal of protecting humanity as a black and white outcome. He is not beyond strategy or planning, but he is above compromise or tainting his hands with what he considers an unacceptable gray stain. He is not entirely one note as he does have hobbies to decompress. He specifically enjoys visiting unique places and being able to commune with nature. He finds it interesting how this entire massive, connected planet can have locations with such wildly different personalities. Alongside humanity, the planet itself and the environment are things he wishes to protect. In that regard, nature itself might even be his best friend.

Percy does not care to make friends. While he will work on a team if need be, he is equally glad to work alone. This even extends to the fact he is to make a pact with a demon. He considers it a rare necessary evil that he must accept so that he may reach his full potential for the sake of defending humanity. A fair amount of self-loathing exists in himself for "being so weak" he would need to make a pact with a demon. In his binary view of the world, this type of compromise causes him no small amount of distress.

Whether it is his demonic partner or any Exorcist teammates he has, Percy is a strict perfectionist, expecting high-effort and to be worth the time he is investing in whatever shared endeavor they have. He expects his teammates to match his energy on a mission. This trait is worst when put into the perspective of his demon partner. His expectations are high and his room for error is incredibly small. Perhaps the absolute worst manifestation of this trait is his lack of an ability to verbally withhold his distaste, disappointment, or disapproval of others when it arises.

PERCY

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Power

Voice Empowerment While related to "sound", Percy specifically is attuned to the power of voices.

Techniques

Voice of God Believed (by himself) to be very voice of Lucis himself, Percy can be given messages of the past, present, or future at the will of the realm. In the case of voices of the past, Percy would be told a first-hand narrative of events that would occur around and object or place he is in contact with. He will only hear this message once. Rarest of all are messages of the present, which are normally direct instructions to perform an action that would be life-saving for either himself or someone else. Messages of the future are often somewhat cryptic and act in a similar fashion to a Greek prophecy.

Voice of Nature Percy can hear the literal voice of the environment around him with it typically stronger the less 'developed' it is. This can manifest as the ability to commune with animals or even plants. This ability varies greatly depending on the environment and nature of the creature(s) he is communicating with. Notably, Percy does not possess any inherent control over these creatures or environments, only the ability to commune with them. While in some cases he may be able to earn favor or assistance, he is equally likely to receive a sarcastic remark before a predator tries to attack him.

Voice of Authority Somewhat of a misnomer, this ability simply allows Percy to completely prevent those around them from using their voice. This ability requires line of sight to activate and can target multiple individuals. Once the ability is activated, line of sight is no longer necessary so long as individuals remain reasonable close to Percy. Verbal components to spells, curses, and techniques do not work if a target is muted. This ability can be used on any creature, living, dead, or otherwise animated that possesses a voice.

Shout of Smiting Percy amplifies a shout, creating a large concussive blast in an area. As it stands, this ability is loud, possesses the ability to knock back full grown humans, and has substantial concussive force. This ability will be later augmented.

↪ If Shout of Smiting (augmented or not) hits a target affected by Voice of Authority, the effect(s) of Shout of Smiting will be significantly enhanced. This enhancement between Authority and Smiting is called Judgement.

Spells

TBD

Biography
There was never a doubt that Percival was Blessed by Lucis. One gifted with the sight could see his reservoir of mana before he was even born. Even then, when he was brought into this world, he shined like a star on a cloudless night. If Lucis had favorites, one might even argue Percival would be one of those favored. The type of exorcist Percy had the potential of becoming was held by only a few in a generation, such as nigh-legendary Miss Whitlock herself.

This belief resulted in a chaotic childhood for Percy. Fact of the matter was that his mother did not want him to become an exorcist and his father ultimately absconded his wife and child under the stress that came from dealing with such a gifted child. The entire conflict arising because his uncle, the older brother to his mother, was an Exorcist that died in the field of battle. It was not a fate she wanted to see for her child.

Ultimately, it stopped being the decision of his parents. His mother was ultimately deemed unfit to care for him and he was taken in as a ward of the state. There was some truth to this; his mother had virtually no support system or means of direct income. At the same time, there was some level of push to acquire a child like Percy. In the end, Percy was taken from his parents at a fairly young age, but he was not put through "the system" as many children in his situation would be.

Percy was effectively being trained to become a child soldier against demons. Questionable ethics? Sure. In fact, it would be a lie to state there was no small amount of brainwashing occurring here. Percy was taught to believe he was special and powerful. That he would help save the world from evil. That he was gifts beyond the norm of even other warriors of Lucis and it was his duty to use those gifts for the greater good. It didn't matter if there was truth to that or not; it was what Percy grew up believing.

Perhaps it was this stressful, non-traditional raising or perhaps it was some odd manifestation of his more latent abilities, but this strict training regiment of childhood Percy was put through was halted when he began hearing voices. When they began to tell him things. When said animals would speak or that inanimate objects might have a story to tell him. At one point, some professionals thought Percy suffered from some type of schizophrenia or other separation from reality. Those that indoctrinated him knew precisely how they had warped his mind and that his might have been a side effect.

As was a trend through his lifetime, the truth of the matter was likely some gray area. Something in between with a touch of both explanations. In this case, before entering the school for upcoming exorcists or making a pact with a demon, the brain washing and conditioning on Percy was doubled-down on. What was once merely trying to sculpt him into a weapon for humanity became a type of programming. His sole purpose was to slay demons and defend humanity. Should he fail that mission or should become a risk, liability, or other problem, he would be disposed of...

...even if he was the one to do the disposing.

MISCELLANEOUS

Name: Melinda "Mel" Albar

Age: 19

Race: Javanese-Slavic

Gender: Female

Height: 160 cm

Weight: 49 kg

Sexuality: Bisexual

Personality: Mel's persona is defined by her extreme outlook on life, that is no one is truly kind and one must either be on the top if the food chain or be trampled. Because of this, she developed a brash, arrogant, and domineering facade. She has no hesitation putting someone down if that means she can get what she wants. She is also someone who rarely shows her true emotions, and prefer to keep other at arm length without really building any genuine relationship. That, however, is what she'd prefer to show on the outside. Within her mind, she is disgusted by the way she carries herself and wishes to change for the better.

Mel loves fighting, and even more so inflicting pain on other people. However, she sets a limitation on herself to only fight those who are equal or stronger than her. She also doesn't like going all out with her power, preferring to break her enemy's strength down and figuring out the "least tiresome" method to win.

History: Mel was born to a family of exorcists. Her father came from a long lineage of exorcists and her mother was considered one of the most talented exorcist in the world. Mel would never truly know them as they both were killed while trying to protect her when she was but a mere baby in what is known as "The Flower Demon Incident".

Throughout her youth, Mel was raised in a slum area by an old pair. To say that life was difficult there would be the understatement of the century. Even meeting the bare minimum of her needs is a struggle, and often Mel had to resort to stealing and blackmailing other kids around her. Eventually, she gathered her own small clique of thugs and life of crime has become a second nature to her.

Life became more complicated for her as she reached her teen. It all started with the passing of her adoptive father followed by her adoptive mother mere months later. And then it all followed by the appearance of a woman who introduced herself as "oarfish demon" and claimed to know her real parents. The demon offered her a brand new life away from the slum and to train her to become an exorcist. Although she was initially wary, Mel eventually accepted the offer as she held no sentimentality to the slum and she was curious about her parents.

Nothing much is going on during this phase of her life. The oarfish trained Mel privately with the basic of exorcism as well as various things taught in school which she hasn't been able to learn due to her circumstances. She was also introduced to Black Ants, an organization of exorcists dedicated to maintain the balance between demons and humans where her real parents used to work at. Mel was quickly accepted into the organization as per the oarfish demon's recommendation, but due to the lack of human resource after the Flower Demon Incident, they agreed to fund her scholarship to Valenheim Academy for a more advanced exorcism training

Weapons: A one-handed sword.

Super Power: Photokinesis

Techniques:

-Radiant Dawnbreaker: A lance made out of pure light. Mel can only summon one at a time as her secondary weapon. Can virtually pierce any nonmagical physical object that doesn't have high light reflectance value i.e. mirror and metallic coat

-Radiant Blazer: Mel summons several floating arrow of light around her which launches toward her enemy at her command. She can summon up to 4 at a time. Carried the same strength and weakness as Radiant Dawnbreaker.

-Radiant Voyager: By covering her left eye, Mel can turn it into an orb of light which can travel quite far from her. The orb allows her to see anything around it, basically functioning as recon ability. The technique immediately deactivated the moment she reveals her left eye.

-Fatamorgana: Bend the light around her, creating multiple illusions of herself.

Goal: To become a better person, to find out about her past and take revenge on her real parent's killer.

Appearance:

1708225122486.gif

Name: Daisuke Minamoto

Age: 19

Gender: M

Height: 1.65 m

Weight: 68 kg

Sexuality: straight

Personality:

Daisuke is a reserved and pragmatic young man. As a member of a clan with a long tradition, he appears gentle, though it's merely a formality concealing his indifference and apathy. He generally prefers to avoid confrontations with others, sticking to faithfully fulfilling his duties not out of an ideal of justice, but out of obedience to his superiors. Deep loyalty motivates him to carry on—a loyalty of a good subordinate, but also of one who has relinquished responsibility for his own decisions.

This distance from people and ideals allows him to approach problems free from any passion, believing that—despite what he learned from a young age about honor—no method is truly dishonorable; the only dishonor is failure, meaning the ends justify the means. At the same time, lacking the innate talent of other members of his family, he is highly meticulous and reflective, acutely aware of his own weaknesses and strengths.

But behind that wall of gentleness, he feels the great absence of his mother, who died shortly after he was born, a growing envy and frustration towards his older sister, who was the heir of the family (before she was killed in combat against demons), as well as dissatisfaction with his place in his clan, fueling a sense of questioning that erodes his once blind loyalty. Perhaps that is what he desires most—a life without being tied to the responsibilities of being a hunter or belonging to his clan, a life where he can find friendship, fun, and romance like any other young man.

History:

Daisuke is a member of the main family of the Minamoto Clan, yet he is not in line to succeed his grandfather, Genjiro Minamoto, the current clan leader. Daisuke is the second son of the late leader of the Minamoto Clan, Saito Minamoto, and from a young age, like the other children of the clan, he was trained to become a demon hunter. However, his skills were not bad; they were notably below what his family expected of him, as evidenced, for example, every time his sister defeated him during their sparring sessions. Due to the absence of his mother, he was quite close to his older brother, so - in those days - he didn't mind always being in her shadow, but over time, Daisuke began to be uncomfortable with the constant comparisons, as well as the praise and recognition she always received.

The death of his father was a hard and surprising blow to him and his sister, which momentarily united them, but when his grandfather, Genjiro Minamoto, took over the leadership of the clan and ordered that, as its heiress, Sakura should start taking on greater responsibilities, Daisuke was to be treated like any other subordinate, he was discomforted by this, but he tried to suppress his disillusionment. Subsequently, his grandfather ordered the boy to continue his training in the north of Hokkaido, officially telling him it was a learning journey in a more challenging environment, it was evident that was not the reason, so Daisuke believed it was a punishment for showing signs of insubordination. In that rugged area, he could not continue his training fully, as only clan members who did not demonstrate skills for demon hunting were sent there to be occupied in more mundane tasks, such as hunting down the region's imps, so there were no good instructors.

Worse still, there were plenty of imps there. However, while he resigned himself to the punishment imposed with the same uncertainty that surrounded the decision to send him to Hokkaido, he was ordered to return, following the murder of his sister, Sakura.
