in the flames, a lonely person turns to dust.
⋆ Basics
- I require atleast a paragraph, and even then I am really strecthing it, so if you do reply with one paragraph, make it count.
- Your point of view will be 3rd person, I dislike when people use "I" for their own character, and "you" for my character. As much as I enourage you to be in character, it doesn't sit right with me.
- This is strictly a descriptive roleplay. It does not have to be newest
American Psycho
, but I will not do script or anything similar.
⋆ Do not play a mary-sue/gary-stu
A Mary-Sue is a specific kind of character that is usually considered literarily reprehensible and otherwise unpleasant for others to play alongside. A Mary-Sue is any character (of any gender, age, race, or species) who fits one or more of these descriptions:
- A character who’s too perfect, lacking realistic or logical flaws, or whose flaws do not affect them in real ways.
- A character who’s exactly like their creator, except idealized or made “better”. (E.g. more attractive, smarter, given skills, abilities & powers the creator wishes they could have.) Essentially, the creator is inserting themselves into the story, but without the flaws, quirks & limits that make them interesting and real. Users are often discouraged from creating characters who would be described as, "He's based off me," especially since that comes with the extra risk of violating the avoid mixing ic and ooc rule.
- A character who’s far too powerful, especially whose abilities exceed that which is possible for his/her race in the setting of the story. Particularly if said character has abilities that do not exist within the boundaries of the story’s world. Often these characters are
technically
legitimate, but are very, "Look at how unique and cool I am!"
- A character who’s cliched, having qualities or characteristics that are overused by people trying to have a powerful/perfect/cool character. This includes but is not limited to the traits listed as Popular Role-Play Trends.
⋆ Do not lorebreak
If we are doing a non-magic AU, then there's no magic. If we're doing a magic AU, there is magic. Do not break this rule just because it's "quirky" or "adds spice." If you want to roleplay something with magic, then tell me so, and we will. If you do not, then vice versa.
⋆ Do not "auto"
Auto-anything is when a character performs an action without giving the affected characters a chance to respond. For example, running up to somebody and saying *Stabs in the heart* then running off would be autohitting. Auto also applies to non-combative actions to which another player might have a reaction. Saying, *The black knight slips past the guards and into the castle,* while white knights are guarding the entrance to the white knight's castle would be autowalking on the premise that, in all likelihood, those knights would stop you before you got past them. This can easily be fixed with a simple rewording. Add "tries to" or "attempts to" to clarify that your character intends to perform said action, but his success depends on the responses of those around him.
⋆ I live in the CEST (+1.00) timezone, but please don't expect an immediate answer, sometimes the reply just takes time, or sometimes I have to think about how to respond without it sounding half-assed. You
may
bump me, but please don't do it if it's only be one hour or so.
⋆ If there is a "Muse C", both of us will first discuss how we imagine the character to be (before we start the RP), then collectively control them if they appear in scenes.

1. Hollow Insides (Horror/Fantasy)
Muse A is a well-known toy maker, or rather, a doll maker to be more specific. They spend their days making breath-taking porcelain dolls that are incredibly lifelike. Frighteningly so. These creations are almost too real and make most customers second guess whether they should actually be purchased. Muse A would prefer not to sell any of their precious creations, but they must only to ensure that they’ll be able to continue with their art; after all, doll-making is a pain-staking and costly love. One day, Muse A receives a commission from a mysterious customer who promises to pay Muse A handsomely upon the condition that they use parts supplied by their own company. Muse A fancies themselves as a purist and is reluctant at first, but they can’t deny that the money they are offered would allow them to comfortably continue making dolls well into their twilight years.
So, Muse A accepts the commission and begins to craft a new doll with these imported parts. As they begin to craft, it quickly becomes apparent that this doll is different. From every fine hair on their pretty, little head, to their expressive eyes framed with full, long lashes, down to their cute feet; this doll is perfect. By the time this doll is completed, Muse A isn’t sure that they can sell it; they’ve become attached to their most perfect creation. Despite Muse A’s pleas to the wealthy customer, the buyer insists that they pack up the doll for shipping immediately and with a heavy heart Muse A complies. However, in the morning, Muse A discovers that the doll, Muse B, is sitting atop the box rather than inside where they’ve put them the night before. Muse B is curious to know why they were in a box so they simply ask a startled Muse A. Muse A is both frightened and amazed to discover that Muse B has come to life overnight.
2. Dark Road (Horror/Sci-Fi)
Muse A is driving on a dark road in the middle of the night, trying to get home before an impending thunderstorm. They peek up in the rearview mirror briefly, out of habit, though there’s no one behind them. When Muse A’s eyes return to the road, they have to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the human figure suddenly standing in the path of their vehicle. Muse A shifts into ‘park’ as calmly as possible and gets out of the car to make sure that the person standing in the road is alright. Muse B is quiet and staring off into space, but otherwise they seemed unharmed. Worried, Muse A insists that Muse B get in the car so they can be taken to the hospital. Muse A figures that Muse B must be in shock; they’re certainly shaken up. Muse B says nothing, but follows Muse A to the car and gets in. Muse A proceeds to drive straight on the road, sitting in silence with their eerily quiet companion. After a few minutes, Muse B murmurs that Muse A needs to “turn left”. Muse A is caught off guard, but they know that the hospital isn’t that way so they explain that they’re going to keep driving straight. As they draw near exit on the left, Muse B reaches over and yanks the wheel hard to force Muse A off the road and down the off ramp. Panicked because they could’ve been in a wreck, Muse A regains control of the car and demands an explanation. Muse B sits back in their seat calmly replying that they would have been in a terrible accident if they didn’t turn then. Muse A thinks that Muse B is crazy and swears that once they reach the hospital (via local streets) they’ll get as far away from Muse B as possible. When they arrive at the hospital, Muse A escorts Muse B in, though Muse B is resisting. Muse A struggles a bit to get Muse B inside, but the news story playing on the waiting room TV catches their attention before they can reach the nurse’s station. Sure enough, there’s a breaking news bulletin about a turned over truck and a massive fire on the road that Muse A was determined to take..
3. An Unforgettable Friend (Fantasy)
Muse A is a satori, a type of mind-reading monster. However, they were highly interested in humans, and would approach humans in attempt to learn more from them. When a satori approaches a human, they will read their thoughts out loud, which will often scare humans away. because of this, Muse A never got the opportunity to learn about humans. They opted to close their third eye, but when they did, they also sealed their conscious, and their existence was that of a pebble on the side of the road. You may see them, but you don’t take notice to them, and as soon as they leave your vision, you forget about them.
One day, Muse B is hiking in the mountain where Muse A is residing. Muse A spots them, and, controlled by their subconscious, approaches them clinging to their side and not saying a word. Muse B, at first, does not notice Muse A, but over time they seem to be aware of something strange in the corner of their eye, and once they set up camp, they acknowledge Muse A for the first time.
4. A Walk In The Park (Sci-Fi)
Muse A has always loved nature. Even though they live in an urban area, they find the time to walk to the local park every day and spend a few quiet moments enjoying the greenery and animals around them. They always relax on the same wooden bench and lately have been noticing the animals seem to have grown accustomed to their presence. In particular one beautiful, curious crow. It keeps its distance, but always appears so intelligent and sharp, watching intently with its ebony eyes.
One day Muse A brings a small bag of trail mix as an offering to their new feathered friend. The crow caws happily and devours the assortment of raisins and nuts. The following day Muse A returns with a snack and the crow is there, this time with a shiny twist of metal in its beak. When the treats are scattered along the ground, the bird drops the paperclip - a gift - at Muse A’s feet.
This ritual exchange carries on until one day, the crow doesn’t show. Muse A is heartbroken, missing the therapeutic one-sided talks and charming company of their wild friend. Muse B appears, seemingly out of nowhere and sits down on the wooden bench beside a visibly distraught Muse A. Wordlessly, Muse B hands Muse A a small metal trinket, a perfect addition to Muse A’s collection. Is the gesture enough to reveal the truth about Muse B? The shapeshifter had been their crow companion the entire time.
5. Dead End (Horror/Sci-Fi)
While driving along on a quiet detour road, Muse A’s car starts spewing smoke from beneath the hood. Thankfully, it’s still midday and when Muse A pokes their head out through the lowered window they’re able to make it to the closest motel before the car breaks down. Muse A has to use the phone in the motel’s main office to call a tow truck because their cell phone isn’t getting signal way out here. While speaking with the tow company, Muse A realizes that the motel owner seems a little off. He’s creepily quiet and eyeing them a little too hard for their taste. Finding out that the tow truck won’t come until the next morning, Muse A decides to check into the motel. What else can they do?
As Muse A heads outside to get their bag from the trunk, Muse B follows and offers help. Muse B is related to the motel owner and works there in several capacities; housekeeping and grounds-keeping mainly. Muse A permits Muse B to carry their bag to the room, but is startled when Muse B blocks them from going inside once they get there. Muse B warns Muse A not to stick around at the motel once the sun goes down but doesn’t say why before rushing off. Muse A gets a weird vibe which only grows weirder as Muse A goes in search of the vending machines for a snack and encounters another guest at the motel. The guest has the same zoned out, pale look that the motel owner had and two odd-looking marks on their neck that peek out from the collar of their shirt. Muse A doesn’t encounter too many other guests on the way back to their room, though the parking lot is occupied by a few other cars. Muse A does their best to shirk off Muse B’s warning, but makes sure to bolt the door as the sun disappears from view.
Unable to sleep, Muse A begins to hear strange noises in the room connected to theirs. At first it sounds like there’s a struggle between two people, then it’s suddenly quiet and there’s a knock at their door. Muse A pretends to be asleep, ignoring the knock, but to their horror someone starts working the lock and somehow pushes the bolt out of place from the other side of the door. The last thing Muse A remembers before waking up the next morning is the face of Muse C, the tall mysterious figure with long, sharp teeth who broke into their room..and the dark, fresh blood that was dripping down from Muse C’s mouth.
Muse A finds tender, red marks on their neck like they saw on the other motel guest but they can’t put two and two together. They’ve forgotten about the tow truck that was supposed to come for them and for some reason they want to stay another night at the motel. Muse C must’ve been some crazy, vivid dream and maybe the marks are mosquito bites, Muse A reasons. What Muse A doesn’t know is that the motel is inhabited by vampires who feed off the guests by night and compel them to forget. Having seen many guests come to the motel and never leave, Muse B is tired of letting innocent people be harmed, including their relative who owns the motel.
Will Muse B save Muse A from a horrible fate at the hands of Muse C and their kind?
6. Curiousity Killed the Cat (Sci-Fi)
Muse A is on a weekend camping trip with friends in the mountains. They spend the first afternoon exploring the gorgeous scenery, walking the trails and carving new paths near their campsite. One spot in particular catches Muse A’s attention, a cave. The group peek their heads inside, but are reluctant to go further without their flashlights and drag Muse A along back to camp with empty promises that they will return the following day. Muse A has dinner with their friends, but is unable to get their mind off of the interesting discovery. After the group has gone to bed, Muse A decides to sate their unwavering curiosity, grabbing a flashlight and a bottle of water to head out to the site of the cave.
Muse A feels increasingly lightheaded the deeper they delve into the cavern, but they press on. The feeling eventually overwhelms Muse A and they reach out to steady themselves on the cave’s interior wall, waiting for the sickening sensation to pass. When Muse A is again clearheaded, they turn back to leave the damp, dark space and head back down the short trail to camp. Muse A is shocked to discover they cannot find the tents or any sign of the fire that had been burning brightly at the site. Panic sets in as they frantically retrace their steps. They work in slow circles trying to find their friends and calling out, but there is no answer. Exhausted, Muse A sits down and falls asleep.
Muse B is in the midst of their morning routine when they come upon a sleeping Muse A. Startled by their unusual clothing and appearance, they gently wake Muse A to ask if they need help. Muse A relays the previous night’s events and although confused, Muse B takes them into their care and promises to aid them in finding a way back to their group. What will transpire when Muse A figures out they have travelled in time? Will Muse B believe them? If unable to return, will Muse A and Muse B develop a relationship?
- We can discuss whether Muse A travels to the future, or the past.
