Mystery Man
In the continent of Qaestron Adventurers are looked upon with suspicion, often rightly so. As stated quite Elegantly in this proclamation by the Confederation of Falafonia, considered the most Adventurer-friendly of the myriad nations on the Continent.
They call themselves Adventurers. A word used to disguise the fact that they are murderous vagabonds that sell their sword to any with the coin to pay them. People only treat with them because they are the only ones insane enough, desperate enough and equipped enough to attempt taking on threats that no sane individual would try. More often they get butchered trying to take on said threats no sane person would. Too often they try sacking a dragon’s hoard and the dragon decides to set an example by roasting a few villages. Not to mention that they are constantly riling up the border tribes and getting themselves into trouble while in town.
No good citizen would deal with such persons of low repute. The protection of the common citizenry from wild beasts and monster attacks is best left to the much more capable and honourable hands of your local lord. Which is why any persons who are found dealing with the murderous vagrants occasionally known as Adventurers, Monster Hunters, Monster Slayers, Mercenaries, or any other persons with similar occupational nomenclature will be swiftly dealt with. The Confederation of Falafonia will not tolerate any who treat with these societal menaces.
That does not mean however that Adventurers are forbidden entirely from practising their craft within the bounds of Falafonia. Adventuring Guilds that are registered officially in Falafonia are permitted to take contracts which are posted on official boards. Adventurers are to follow all the regulations laid out in their Guild’s charter along with any Confederation or local laws and ordinance. To post a contract, or register a guild, please speak to your local lord.
It is on this continent and Falafonia in particular that you mighty Adventurers will find yourself trying to make your fortune in a world where everything from monsters to the local gentry is out to get you. One thing to note is that not all the peasants hate you. It's mostly the Nobility that doesn't like you, as they see you as a threat, people looking to you for protection and not them. Though there are always regular people that hate you as well because adventurers can be a lot like soldiers, getting into a lot of trouble in town.
