Jackie the Chameleon.png

Name: Jackie the Chameleon
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Species: Chameleon
Backstory: Jackie was born in the Mobian year 3245 in New Mobotropolis in the Kingdom/Republic of Acorn to Peter the Chameleon and Mary the Chameleon. He was an only child and came from a middle class family. By all accounts, he was a nice and likeable child, a trait he still possesses at the age of 12. Jackie was told stories of the Freedom Fighters by the older Mobians living in New Mobotropolis and began to show great admiration for the Freedom Fighters as a result of this. Together with his friends Ramone, DJ and Raphael, Jackie began to train himself to be faster so that he could be a protector of the innocent like the Freedom Fighters before him one day.
Personality: Jackie is a nice, likeable and energetic young Mobian who radiates a lot of hope. He looks up to the Freedom Fighters, viewing them as his role models and aspires to become a protector of the innocent like them when he grows up. Due to his young age and not having any experience of romantic involvement with females yet, Jackie tends to get rather flustered around girls, which is shown in his inability to properly greet girls and shows visible shock whenever a girl shows him affection. At the end of the day however, Jackie can get along fine with girls once he gets to know them and they get to know him.
Powers (Such as Sonic's speed or Tails' flight ability): Having trained this ability since the age of 7, Jackie is a pretty fast runner (though nowhere near as fast as Sonic the Hedgehog himself) and can run the fastest out of anyone in his family or friend group, and also possesses a few other abilities such as the Spin Dash and the Homing Attack.
Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: He wants to protect the innocent like the Freedom Fighters did when they were his age.
Extra Info: He speaks in a husky child like voice provided by Ashleigh Ball.

Name: Lotus the Red Panda
Age (10-18): 16
Gender: Female
Species: Red Panda
Appearance:
LotusRedPanda2.jpg
Backstory: She was the brown-eyed daughter of fortune-tellers. While her dad was an assistant, her mother possessed some actual powers in that area, seeing and interpreting the aura of living things. And Lotus inherited that power from her mother. The thing about seeing auras was that such wasn't particularly useful when it came to the war against Dr. Eggman, so her family made it out fairly unscathed. However, there were still areas not as structurally stable and in passing through one such place, the building collapsed onto the family. Lotus would have a near-death experience it took a few months to recover from, only her eyes had changed from brown to magenta-pink. Plus her aura-seeing powers took on a more expanded range of abilities.
Personality: Lotus is bubbly and outgoing. Very much personable to the point where she basically thrives off communication, meaning she'd feel lost if ever going long without anyone to speak to. Like that suggests, she has no qualm about approaching someone she doesn't already know. Everything beyond that is, likewise, bold as she will also throw herself into danger if it meant she can make use of her powers. She wants to have more of a purpose than fortune-telling.
Powers: All living things produce an aura, but it's rare for anyone to be able to see those auras. And even more unheard of if someone could actually interact with them like Lotus now can do after her near-death experience. These possible interactions include quite a large range of stuff, most of which seem more oriented to parkouring around rather than fighting.
  • Can See Auras (self-explanatory)
  • Aura Interaction - She can make any aura she's come into contact with solid, to her and only her. This will let her push or stand on it without actually coming into contact with whatever living thing it is attached to.
  • Bouncy Aura - If you know how Minecraft slime blocks work, then you know what this is. She can jump from any height safely. The aura will bounce her back up to about the same height, which will slowly decrease with each subsequent bounce.
  • Rocket Aura - Again like Minecraft slime blocks, but that have pistons under them to launch a person into the air. It is a power related to the Aura Bounce, but it launches her out in one direction.
  • Aura Phasing - If in contact with an aura, she can fuse with her own aura and phase to the other aura's opposite side. Where she will then reform.
  • Eye Color Changes - Her eyes used to be brown. Once her powers upgrades they became magenta-pink to match her own aura. They still aren't set in stone either and will change to match the color of whatever aura she is interacting with.
Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: Lotus believes following in her parents' footsteps would be wasteful of the potential of her new abilities. She wants them to have a purpose and is willing to put herself at risk.

Name: Dart The Crabmeat
Age (10-18): 17
Gender: Male
Species: Bee
Appearance (Pictures are welcome, but if you prefer to give a description of your character, that's fine too):
1677290613033.pngCrabmeat-Sonic-Colors.png
Backstory: Dart's childhood was rocked by the war, with most of it being spent him hiding from Badniks and other threats, trying to survive. However, he had a knack for technology, and at one point came across a large, disabled Crabmeat. Using his knowledge, scraps of metal, he was able to convert the robot into a small vehicle for himself, and while it was functional it still was a work in progress.
Personality: Dart is usually straightforward and blunt with what he says, occasionally sneaking in some snark when he can. However, he values any friends he has, seeing them as a priority compared to himself or any of his machinations, but prefers not to show this out in the open. He also prefers to remain inside his crab-tank, being uncomfortable elsewhere due to seeing it as "unsafe territory".
Powers (Such as Sonic's speed or Tails' flight ability): Dart's natural abilities include speed and flight due to his small size and wings, as well as general knowledge on electronics and technology. His crab-tank offers protection from most attacks as well as the ability to fire small EMP bursts from each claw. However, it is slow and can only move sideways.
Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: Dart seeks to push back against those who made his life horrible in his early years, as well as taking an interest in Robotnik's powerful contraptions as of recent.

Name:
Wilby the Cat

Age:
17

Gender:
Male

Species:
Housecat

Appearance:
(IMAGE TBA)

Wilby is a housecat of short stature, with most of his fur being a rich brown, bar a patch of grey on his stomach. He appears to be larger than average, though that is in part due to how fluffy his fur is. His eyes are never seen, hidden behind goggles that are always on in public, and his mouth is constantly curled up in a cheeky smile.

Backstory:
Wilby was born into a criminal family of cats. From the time he could walk, talk, and follow instructions, he, and his littermates were taught the ways their family made a living — petty crime. Despite his build, he was stealthy and a good climber, on top of being quite good at talking his way out of trouble.

As he entered his teen years, however, a problem became apparent. Though he had a penchant for mischief, he had little interest in following in his parents' footsteps, especially as their reputations, and crimes worsened. With nothing but a bindle holding a few possessions, Wilby set off on his own to travel across the lands.

After quite some time, when Wilby learned to fend for himself reasonably well, he found his way to New Mobotropolis, where rather than fall back to old ways, he was determined to make something of himself. Believing it to be the right thing to do to make up for past actions, Wilby agreed to join the Freedom Fighters after some convincing from a new friend, hoping he could find his calling with them.

Personality:
Wilby appears friendly to all that he meets, always the one initiating handshakes and hugs first. He’s prone to talking a lot, often wasting no time to think before he does. He’s drawn to mischief and fun, and is a big fan of pulling pranks on unsuspecting people, though he’s directing his efforts towards Eggbert and his Empire now.

One thing he keeps to himself is his past, unwilling to divulge details about his family or his criminal history. He’ll laugh off any questions on the topic at first, but will get irritated if pressed further.

He has an appreciation for cooking, often taking it upon himself to make meals for his allies. He also misses his travelling days a lot.

Powers:
  • Claws: Wilby is equipped with cat claws, that are strong enough to be used as a weapon. They can also be used to support him in climbing structures.
  • Stealth: Wilby is skilled at being stealthy, able to move around while making little, or no sound
  • Senses: Wilby’s sense of hearing and sight are heightened due to his cat-like features, faring well in dark spaces.

Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter:
Wilby is searching for his calling in life. A close friend he met in New Mobotropolis, Waltz the Cat, joined the Freedom Fighters in his youth and is the one that convinced Wilby to join as well. He isn’t too sure about it, but he wants to do some good to make up for his checkered past.

Name: Lilium
Age: 14
Gender: Intersex Female (She/Her)
Species: Seedrian
Appearance:

1680839694395.png

Backstory:
Contrary to what one might assume, Lilium has actually lived on Mobius for her whole life. Her mother was a survivor from the war on Green Gate and rather than travel with the remainder of her species on the Ark, she decided to instead settle down on a planet and make a new life there. Due to a lack of resources she didn’t have much information regarding what planet might be the best to live on so she had no choice but to pick based on her instincts. Unfortunately she ended up landing on Planet Mobius of all places, a planet nearly completely taken over by an egg shaped dictator. But, too late to change course, Lilium’s mother was still able to find a place that was relatively safe. A small village by the woodlands by the name of Feral Forest. Although the area had once previously attacked and been the location where Prince Elias of Acorn was nearly assassinated, by now the place had fully recovered and could be considered a humble yet thriving community. And so, Lilium’s mother was quickly accepted by the locals and became a gardener, growing all sorts of flora ranging from the healthiest of produce to the prettiest of flowers, the only thing that could remind of life back on her home planet.

Eventually Lilium’s mother began to feel an intense loneliness, unsure of what became of her Seedrian sisters and brothers or of Greet Gate. Returning to the planet was completely out of the question but she instead had another idea. With one of her seeds, she gave birth to a daughter and named her after the water lily, a flower fitting to represent the resurrection of the Seedrian people. And so, Lilium was born, a birth that came with a dilemma. Lilium’s mother only had one pendant, an item that prevented Seedrians from entering their final stage of life prematurely, and she would rather die than let her child go through such a terrible thing so she did what any other mother would have. She gave Lilium her pendant.

As Lilium grew up, her mother taught her all she could about the history of her species, of their triumphs, follies, culture, language, and values. She told her child that perhaps one day the two of them could even return to their true homeland after the war was over. After all, although the two of them were without a doubt members of Feral Forest, her mother still felt homesickness and isolation from the culture shock. That however wouldn’t prevent her from integrating her daughter into the community as Lilium soon joined her mother in her line of work and together the duo was able to live a relaxed and humble life. Or at least, until the attack.

Whatever reasoning Doctor Robotnik had for leaving Feral Forest alone disappeared with the rise of his other nephew, Eggbert held no such hesitation. The forest was once more attacked by an army of Badniks, this time without the likes of Team Fighters to save them.

It was utter carnage. Mobians left and right were captured to be roboticized or forced to undergo the legionization process. But when they noticed the existence of the Seedrians, the badniks were ordered to capture them for research. The mother and daughter fled into the woods as the machines chased after them, the sight of the burning village behind them growing farther and farther away.

Suddenly Lilium, just nine years old at the time, tripped and had badly sprained her ankle as the badniks came closer. She couldn’t run anymore, this was it.

Lilium’s mother was not willing to sacrifice her child. No, instead she embraced her child and forced herself to enter Mover Mode, becoming a tall tree that perfectly matched the surrounding forest. And, having grown around her child, perfectly hid Lilium as the badniks passed them. She had been saved at a terrible cost.

Days later a party of Mobians from New Mobotropolis had searched the forest for any survivors, eventually finding the injured Lilium curled against what once had been her mother. They informed her of the state of Feral Forest, that after such a vicious attack there was quite literally nothing left of her home save for smoldering ashes. And so, they brought her to New Mobotroplis and gave her asylum. It would never be the place she had come to love so dearly just as her mother once had, but still she could at least make a new life here.

And, for the past few years that’s what she did…sort of. It wasn’t a question that as soon as it was safe enough she was going back to Feral Forest to find her mother. Tree or not, Lilium wasn’t going to abandon her. And finally, with the Freedom Fighters clearing out the Badniks there, it was deemed safe for her to return.

Just as promised she searched the woods for hours to find where her mother’s tree stood. Yet as she reached the location she’d sprain her ankle those five years ago she was treated with an even worse sight. The area she swore her mother had been was now barren. No, it was worse than that. Based on the hole it appeared that it had been completely uprooted entirely. The survivors back in the village would confirm the horrifying reality. As during the chaos, one of the villagers had spotted a Badnik transferring a large tree, very likely to be Liliums’s mother.

With this revelation Lilium forwent her initial intentions of settling back in Feral Forest and immediately marched back to New Mobotroplis. She would not rest until she found where Eggbert was storing her mother. She would not rest until he and his army were smoldering ash, but most of all, she would not rest until she’s reunited with her mother.

And so that leads to the current day. Lilium has just returned from Feral Forest and has full intent on joining the Freedom Fighters. They, without the slightest of doubt, are her very last hope.

Personality:
At her core, she’s a kind if not a little quiet, young lady. Despite the years living in New Mobotroplis she’s still not quite used to the bustle of the city, so comparatively she can come off as somewhat timid. She’s also rather jumpy, as a sudden noise or action will typically elicit a panicked reaction. But make no mistake, she might be a bit of a scaredy cat but she’s no coward by any means. In fact, one of her most admirable traits is her courage. Despite her own fear she will go through hell and back to protect those she cares for, even if she’s utterly terrified. Unfortunately this does make her rather reckless at times, as she holds little to no self preservation if it means she’ll accomplish her goal. In fact, she can be rather stubborn and blunt at times. If someone is doing something she knows isn’t right or if she has to defend her own, don’t expect her to show even the slightest bit of hesitancy to justify herself or not do something about it.

Powers:
  • Hover: Utilizing her petal shaped cloak, Lilium can hover in the air for short periods of time.
  • Botanical Communication and Heightened Empathy: Lilium has the ability to communicate and feel the emotions of nearby flora.
  • Aquatic Breathing: Like many other water plants, Lilium can survive off the oxygen found in water, so she’s able to remain under water for extended periods of time.
  • Light Footed: Owing to her light physique and fondness for dance, Lilium is surprisingly agile, and though her level of agility is only a little above average, if properly trained she could show real potential in that area of skill.
  • Mover Mode: A term used to refer to the final stage in the Seedrian Life cycle. Were Lilium to express intense emotions while without her pendant, she would theoretically reach the form used by Seedrian females in order to reproduce, that being a giant tree. If the seedrian were to be transformed while next to technology, they are granted some amount of control over the device.
Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter:
  1. Revenge, plain and simple.
  2. She needs to know what happened to her mother, and with the likelihood that the Eggman Empire had something to do with her disappearance, Lilium figured the Freedom Fighters would be her best bet
  3. While it’s a really low priority, perhaps one of the geniuses of the organization could one day help her travel to Green Gate. But, that will have to wait until her other goals are met first.

Extra Info:
  • Being quite literally an alien, it’s likely that many in New Mobotropils are at the very least vaguely aware of Lilium, as it isn’t everyday you see a plant girl walking around.
  • Lilium gets super nauseous when she smells smoke or sees fire
  • She is fluent in both English and the Seedrian/Metarex written language

Name: Crystal The Arcticwolf

Age: 18 (technically ancient)

Gender: female

Species: Arcticwolf

Appearance: 221C4349-F6DE-4178-9CFB-94D13DAFC808.jpeg

Backstory: Crystal is an Arcticwolf from the north polar region of Mobius. Her people were a small tribe that lived at the base of the tallest peak until a tragedy lead to the deaths of her village and her being frozen in ice for thousands of years. She was created when the village chief climbed the peak and found a small altar holding a gem (similar to a chaos emerald) that flew in his presence and granted his desire to be a worthy chieftain and father by making him a child from the snow. She grew up normally until her father found a mate and had his second child (technically first child) and she was relegated to guard duty, she didn’t mind this, she loved seeing her father happy and loved her baby brother. Unfortunately that wouldn’t last as time went by her father grew more and more distant until her entire village didn’t trust her (except for the young pups that is) but eventually her father banished her saying he didn’t need her and she was a threat to the village so she climbed to the peak of the mountain and looked down at her home, and in a fit of rage, despair, and betrayal that lasted just a few seconds she used her power and knocked down the side of the mountain and buried her village under 100 feet of snow, ice, and rock. There were no survivors.

Personality: A warriors heart, but is secretly lonely and scared, friendly if someone gets to know her.

Powers: ice manipulation & water manipulation, transformation (only at the sight of her own blood she enters a feral state and losses all control, she becomes a very large white wolf where her ice powers get amped up to the point of causing an ice age)

Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: once a warrior, always a warrior.

Extra Info: she is technically not real in the normal sense, but that’s what she believes anyway. The gem that created her is her own heart and protrudes from her chest as a small diamond and is not part of her necklace.

Name: Juliana (Joules) the Hedgehog

Age: 18

Gender: female

Species: Hedgehog

Appearance:
E951DDD8-16D7-47B4-9F11-809C93B48DA9.jpeg

Backstory: Joules grew up in the suburbs of Mobotropilis as Juliana, a regular yellow hedgehog who enjoyed music and was rather intelligent for her age. Soon she discovered she could manipulate electricity, but not just electricity but also electro-magnetic fields. She is a bit of a tech nut, she modified a pair of noise canceling headphones as when she uses her electro-static powers it causes an incessant buzzing in her ears and the headphones keep the buzzing out. Joules helped her father who was an archeologist at one of his digs in the north when her electro-mag sensor (basically a powered up ground penetrating radar) detected a very strong source of energy in a sort of heat pocket beneath the ice which led to the discovery of a perfectly preserved ancient Mobian deep beneath the ice pack. Her and her father managed to revive the Mobian and with limited knowledge of their language (mostly just drawings) managed to convince her they weren’t a threat and Joules began to teach her how to read English as they spent their time together at the dig.

Personality: loving and friendly, a major fan girl for Tails.

Powers: Electro-static manipulation (basically everything Static Shock can do)

Why they want to be a freedom fighter: she wants to help others as she idolizes Miles Tails Prower.

Other info: she made limiter bracelets that keep her power from going berserk, they also focus any rogue electro charge back into themselves keeping her powered up.

Name: Fibre the Glider
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Species: Feathertail Glider
Appearance:
63398532_O2zrCuyBl9p7JHL.png

Backstory: Fibre grew up in an orphanage with many other children, never knowing her parents. This never seemed to bother her as the orphan keepers filled the role of guardian quite well, even keeping an eye out for her considering how small and frail she was. This favoritism often led to her peers picking on her, along with taking jabs at her appearance to lower her self-esteem even more. She often pretended their mockery didn't get to her, opting to play by herself and focus on her studies to reassure herself that she was smarter than her tormentors.
This all culminated into what Fibre considers the worst day in her life: when her bullies dragged her by the tail and shoved her in one of the many storage chests the orphanage had for securing valuables. They piled heavy things on top and took turns crowding around it to keep her inside and dismiss concerns any of the orphan keepers may have had about noises coming from the chest. Fibre ended up so distressed that she passed out from exhaustion. Once her cries died down her peers cleaned up whatever they had used to keep her trapped, likely so they couldn't be held accountable once she found her way out, and scurried off to bed. What no one could have foreseen, however, was an attack led by the Eggman Empire on the town that happened overnight. Trying to cut through the panicked screams and cries, the orphan keepers tried to lead as many children as possible to safety-- with Fibre nowhere in sight due to still being too exhausted to wake up. Not wanting to endanger anyone any longer, those who had made it out fled without looking back.
When Fibre had finally awoken, she was surrounded by rubble. The storage chest had thankfully kept her safe from the debris but with not a soul left in town, she had no idea where to go from here. With tears in her eyes, she salvaged what she could and began life on her own. Thanks to the moments from the night prior, she felt hurt that no one had attempted to find her, even if they didn't like her, and bring her to safety. From then on her sense of trust was shattered.
She lived on the streets and only took help from others when in desperation, often opting to steal what she couldn't gather herself. Those who recognized her attempted to come to her aid, only to be met with vitriol. In her travels, Fibre came across a defected Omochao and turned it into a pet project of hers, giving it the name Optic once it was reactivated.
In present day, she's become accustomed to taking care of herself but still has pangs of loneliness and anger towards the Eggman Empire for putting her in situation she's in. Upon seeing a poster calling mobians to action, ideas began to form in her head about potentially becoming a Freedom Fighter...
Personality: Fibre is a standoffish girl who tends to keep to herself due to past experiences. She's very stubborn and combative, often ready to snap at anyone she perceives as a nuisance or underestimating her. Fibre hates those who are needlessly cruel, but with her behavior at times others could liken her to a bully herself-- something she would vehemently deny. She puts herself first more often than not and while she'll accept orders from superiors, she'll try to prioritize her interests before doing the task at hand. For those Fibre respects she appears to be a lot more meek, often seeking their praise and approval. She desperately wants to find a place to belong and trust others again, but isn't emotionally ready to open up and consider the feelings of others just yet.
Powers:
Air Glide: Fibre can glide swiftly through the air thanks to the patagia under her arms, using her tail to help aid steering. She does have to stop and rest after gliding for prolonged periods, however.
Wall-Climbing: The pads of her fingers help with climbing, strong enough to help her scale even smooth surfaces like metal and glass.
Prehensile Tail: Fibre's long, feather-like tail can also be used to grab things. Having more strength here than in her arms, she uses it for almost everything. Because of this, it is an easy weakness to exploit.
Heightened Senses: The delicate whiskers on her face and tail give her a better sense of her surroundings, making it difficult to sneak up on Fibre.
Optic the Omochao: Optic is a refurbished Omochao that can reconstruct itself and often serves as Fibre's eyes in combat and craft. It can change its form to take different shapes thanks to Fibre's modifications, the primary mode being the goggles and face mask she wears. In this form, Optic can provide combat tips to Fibre and also modify her voice to aid in hiding her identity. In Optic's Omochao mode, it resembles a common, if not rusted, Omochao. It can send data and signals to those logged in its database, allowing for the quick transmission of information. Optic also has the ability to store Fibre's tools in this mode. She hopes to modify Optic even further when she gets access to better parts.
Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: Despite her self-serving attitude, Fibre wants to be a part of something bigger than herself and aid those in need. Due to being bullied when she was younger, she can't stand the oppressive reign of the Eggman Empire and sees it as no different than a big bully. Swiping tech from her enemies is also a bonus in her mind.
Extra Info:
Due to past experiences Fibre is, understandably, claustrophobic.

Name: Quill the Lionfish

Age: 18

Gender: Female (She/Her)

Species: Lionfish (Specifically a Hawaiian lionfish)

Appearance:

(Art is on the way!)

Quill is an aquatic Mobian with orange skin and a large set of white, orange-tipped spinelike tail fins, as well as matching, but smaller fins on her arms, cheeks, and head, which have been styled into a ponytail. She wears a black short-sleeved biker jacket and a ragged grey tank top displaying her band’s logo over a long-sleeve sheer fabric top, black gloves, a leather belt with a black skirt, and fishnet leggings with black boots. She has a spiked choker around her neck, and her right fin is pierced similar to an earring

Backstory:

A lover of music and a talented musician herself, Quill is the lead guitarist for the metal band Zaxxon, which has recently become rather popular in New Mobotropolis’s underground scene. She lives a relatively normal life in the city, maintaining a close connection with her bandmates, though keeping to herself otherwise due to her dangerous abilities. It’s these same abilities that made Quill reluctant to join up with the Freedom Fighters, as she worries that, despite their potency, they could easily harm someone innocent if she isn’t careful. She remained content that she can at least keep the spirits of New Mobotropolis’s people up through her band’s music while the actual battles are fought.

However, as the battle with Eggbert raged on, Quill noticed that more and more people in the city were growing fearful and downtrodden over the oppressive force of the Egg Empire bearing down on them. The conflict was also starting to grow closer to home, something Quill would come to understand when one of her own concerts was ambushed by Badniks. She was forced to fight them off with her powers, though the skirmish would lead her to realize that her music wouldn’t bring the war to an end on its own; it could make the people happy, but it couldn’t bring them freedom. If she really wanted to help her city, help her people, she needed to step up and fight for them.

Personality:

Quill is a reserved individual who comes off as serious and aloof, typically avoiding getting too close to anyone out of fear of harming them. Those who do manage to break down her wall find she’s a kind and reliable person, if a little blunt and gloomy, that’s always willing to offer a hand to those in need. She has an intense passion for music, and loves to share that passion with others, be it through playing a tune or two or sharing her favorite jams.

She isn’t one to put up with bullies, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, regardless of who she’s speaking it to. Despite her notoriety as a member of Zaxxon, Quill tends to shy away from the spotlight, disliking when others point out said fame. However, she’ll never turn away a fan.

As a Freedom Fighter, Quill is determined to stand and fight for her city and the world, willing to do whatever it takes to make Mobius a better place and give the people back their peaceful days.

Powers:
Sharp Spines: Quill’s spines are incredibly sharp, able to easily pierce stone and puncture steel with a little effort. They aren’t very good for cutting, however.
o Toxic Spines: Quill’s spines naturally produce a toxic venom that is near lethal to anything injected with it. The toxicity is strongest in her hair spines, though the other spines on her body can still be incredibly hazardous. Due to the danger these spines pose to everyone around her, Quill regularly undergoes a procedure to have them detoxified, severely reducing their potency; a detox’d injection will not kill its target, but can still be debilitating. Her spines gradually regain their toxicity over the course of a month, making them deadlier the longer she goes between these procedures.
o Spin Dash: In preparation for signing up with the Freedom Fighters, Quill has attempted to learn how to spin dash like the legendary Sonic the Hedgehog; her spines can’t be much different from his quills, right? While she is able to replicate the technique, hers is noticeably sloppier than its creator’s version.

Acidic Touch: Similar to her spines, Quill’s hands also produce a hazardous substance, though one that is highly corrosive rather than noxious. Using this ability, Quill is able to melt just about anything she touches, though the rate of corrosion slows based on the durability of the substance. Unlike her spines, Quill is unable to remove the acidity from her hands, and so wears a pair of specially designed gloves at all times to avoid harming others.

Aquatic Physiology: As Quill is an aquatic Mobian, she is capable of breathing underwater and swimming much faster than a terrestrial Mobian would be able to. She is able to use her spines and their toxicity underwater, but not her acid. In addition, while she can breathe perfectly fine on land, being out of water for too long can leave her fatigued or sluggish.

Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter:

While she definitely wants some payback for one of her concerts being crashed, Quill is determined to protect her home and fellow citizens. Even if she’s still scared of using her powers, she feels a responsibility to put them to work in ending the war. The people of New Mobotropolis deserve the right to be free and happy, and she’s more than willing to fight for that right.

Extra Info:

- Quill is immune to her own venom and acid, though she hasn’t met anyone else who is.
- Contrary to her appearance, Quill adores cute things, though she gets bent out of shape if people discover this.
- Quill started Zaxxon with her best friend, who is the band’s lead singer

Name: Oak the Bear

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Species: Bear

Appearance: He's very tall, comparable in height to Bark the Polar Bear or Big the Cat. He has dark brown fur, and a rather muscular and heavy build. He has a peach muzzle and a pointy black nose. He has blue eyes. For clothing he wears dark red mittens, and dark red boots.

Backstory: Oak used to live peacefully in a forest area of Mobius, without much to worry about. However, as the Eggman Empire progressed and began to claim more of the natural areas, turning what used to be forest and woodlands into industrial areas full of factories mass-producing robots and spreading pollution, Oak was forced to flee from his old home and find a new place to live.

However, the danger wasn't yet over, as it seemed like no matter where he went, the Eggman Empire was always a looming threat to his safety, and that of the people around him. So Oak, who wants nothing but peace and safety, one day found out about the opportunity of becoming a Freedom Fighter. The idea of being able to help fight off the Eggman Empire and finally bring peace and safety to the world is something that he's now made his new mission.

Personality: Despite his tall stature and immense strength, Oak is a very pacific and kind-hearted guy. He's what you'd call a "gentle giant". He's pretty friendly and kind-hearted, and tends to prefer talking things through instead of throwing punches. He's sweet and caring. While he's not naturally violent, he has a strong protective instinct, and as such, despite his pacific tendencies, he is willing to fight to protect others.

He loves food, and is great at cooking all kinds of things. He also has quite a big appetite. He's very loyal and trustworthy, he takes promises very seriously, and is overall a very kind-hearted and friendly individual.

Powers: Oak's main power is his immense strength, which he can use to great effect to achieve notorious feats. His punches are strong enough to break through rock, and he can lift boulders much larger than himself. He's also naturally very resilient, being able to tank hits very well, though he's not invincible by any means. He's also a very good climber and swimmer.

Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: Seeing how his home was completely destroyed and turned into an industrial area for mass-producing robots, as well as seeing how much the war against the Eggman Empire has affected the lives of the people he knows, he wants nothing more than to finally bring peace and safety for everyone. As a freedom fighter, he wants to protect others, and finally stop Eggbert from endangering so many people and causing so much destruction.

Extra Info:
-He is an excellent cook.
-He's also pretty good at fishing, both with a fishing rod, and by hand. He loves fish.

Name: Shimmer the Cat

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Species: Cat

Appearance: She has a roughly average height. She has yellow fur, and a rather slender build. She has a white muzzle and a black nose. Her eyes are purple. She wears a light blue dress, white gloves, a light blue hairbow on her head, and white boots. She also has light blue goggles on her head, which she only puts on when her powers get very bright, as to not hurt her eyes.

Backstory: Shimmer grew up in the city, having always been the kind of person to get along with everyone and make friends. From a young age she was the one who would stand up for her friends when someone was bullying them or trying to hurt them. During her childhood she also discovered her unique power, and while she messed around with it and learned to control it to a certain extent, she's far from mastering it.

One day when she was out with her friends, a group of badniks attacked the area, putting her and her friends in danger. Since the heroes were nowhere to be seen yet, and they were in danger, she decided to step up and use her powers to destroy the badniks. After that day, she realized that she could use her powers to join the Freedom Fighters and help fight off the Eggman Empire. So as soon as she heard the Freedom Fighters were looking for young new recruits to join them, she decided that's what she wanted to do.

Personality: Shimmer is very bubbly, energetic and social. She's a natural social butterfly, and tends to be very cheerful and optimistic. She always tries to look at the bright side of things, and continue on with a smile. She also likes to support and inspire others to do their best as well, cheering up those who are sad and helping them get back up again. She's rather playful and bubbly, always finding something to get excited about.

She likes to bring positivity to others, and tries to always be cheerful, though this means that on occasions she has a hard time admiting when she's feeling down, just trying to stay positive to help the group's morale. She loves music, and all kinds of sweets. She especially loves ice cream.

Powers:
Shimmer's main power is electrokinesis. She can control and manipulate electricity, which has many different applications. She can for example, use it to shoot an electric discharge, or to cause a machine to short-circuit, or even focus the electric power to impulse herself into the air, allowing her to "fly" for a short period of time at high speed. Along with this, her body is naturally able to absorb electricity without being harmed. Whenever she charges up with a lot of electricity, she will begin to glow intensely, at which point she usually puts on her goggles, to protect her eyes from the intense light.

Aside from her electrokinesis, she's also quite a fast runner, and is very agile, though nowhere near the level of heroes like Sonic or Shadow. She's also been learning to perform the iconic Spin Dash, using her electric charge to further charge her speed. Despite her electric power giving her a boost, she's still not able to perform the move nearly as good as Sonic does.

Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: She wants to use her powers to help protect and defend others. She's always wanted to help create a brighter world for those around her, and she believes she'll be able to achieve that by joining the Freedom Fighters to defeat the Eggman Empire.

Extra Info:
-She loves ice cream.
-She loves music. She can play a few instruments, and also has a good singing voice.
-She doesn't know how to swim, and is afraid of going into the water for that reason.

Name: Shade the Raccoon

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Species: Raccoon

Appearance: He's average height. He has dark purple fur, with black stripes throughout his body, with three of them around his tail. He has a slender build. He has a light purple muzzle and belly, and a pointy black nose. He has golden eyes. For clothing he wears a flat black hat on his head, a black scarf, a black belt around his waist with a number of tools he uses in combat, black gloves and boots.

Backstory: Shade grew up in the city, living a normal life with his parents. He leaved in peace, but everything changed when Eggman Empire attacked. The small city area was attacked when Shade was only a child, and he was almost taken by the badniks to be turned into a robot, but his father stepped in to try and buy time. Shade's father told his mother to grab Shade and escape, while he'd buy them time. Despite being young at the time, Shade remembers that day all too vividly, as that was the last time he ever saw his father. Not soon after Shade's mother had taken Shade to another place to hide, the Freedom Fighters arrived to fight off the badniks, but it was too late. Shade and his mother eventually received the news that Shade's father was dead.

Shade decided he had to take on the responsibility of preparing himself, both to defend his mom should another attack like that happen, but also so he could one day get revenge on the Eggman Empire, especially on Eggbert himself, for the death of his father. So he trained both in combat skills, and with his handy crafting skills to become a suitable fighter. He's already been acting on his own for a year or two now, occasionally coming in and fighting off badniks when necessary to defend the citizens. However, now he has a chance to join the Freedom Fighters, an opportunity he isn't going to miss. Perhaps this could finally be the chance to end the Eggman Empire once and for all, and get his revenge on the man behind it all, who also caused the death of Shade's father.

Personality: Shade is quite a quiet individual. He doesn't speak much unless it's necessary. Otherwise he prefers to just keep to himself and observe his surroundings, and the people around him. He'd rather keep his secrets to himself, and not reveal more than is necessary. He's a very practical and pragmatic guy, who never fears to take action when needed. To him actions speak louder than words, so he'd rather just act. That being said, he's not mean or grumpy. He listens to others and is willing to cooperate. He just doesn't like opening up to others. He'd rather keep his problems to himself.

Powers: Shade is very proficient in combat. he's learned martial arts, and is also very fast and agile, being able to reach pretty high speeds (though nowhere near Sonic's level), and is also very capable of doing parkour-like movements around obstacles to move around as quickly as possible. However, he complements this with his tools, which he has crafted himself. He keeps these on his belt, and uses them for a variety of situations. The main tools he has on hand are:

-Smoke Bombs: Allow him to easily escape from an unpleasant situation. While he can't actually teleport, by throwing a smoke bomb and dashing away at max speed for a second, it gives the illusion that he's teleporting. He wants to learn to use Chaos Control, so that he can actually teleport.

-Throwing Knives: These are small but sturdy little daggers that he can throw like shurikens. He always keeps a lot of these with him, and while they can't do much damage on their own, they also serve a secondary purpose: Once they get stuck into a wall, they stay firmly in place and can be used as small stepping stones that he can jump on.

-Mini-Bombs: The tool he carries the least of, since they're the most expensive to craft, they're small bombs that are about the size of a walnut, which can explode on contact. Despite their small size they can pack quite a punch. Due to being the strongest of his tools, and the most expensive ones to craft, he tends to save these for special moments when they're needed.

Why They Want To Be A Freedom Fighter: He's mainly motivated by his desire to avenge his father, as well as wanting to stop the Eggman Empire from causing others to experience what he went through.

Extra Info:
-He spends a lot of time alone, either working on his tools, or playing the flute.
-He's very good at building, repairing, and similar jobs. His practical mind and his ability to fix things in the moment makes him quite a good mechanic, builder, repairer, etc.
-He loves blueberries.

Name: Birdie the Jackrabbit
Age: 17
Gender: Female (She/Her)
Species: Jackrabbit

Appearance:
(Picture is on the way!)
Birdie is a Mobian jackrabbit with cream yellow fur, sea-green eyes and a white muzzle with a small tuft of fur around her neck. Her ears are swiveled back, flopping behind her, and end in small star shaped tufts. She wears a large, almost oversized, light brown newsboy cap, a light green tank top, and a pair of faded blue jeans that come down so that they begin to cover her bare feet. Over her tank top is a brown leather dual camera harness, with cameras strapped in both holsters resting at her side.

Backstory:
Originally from a small village out in the country, Birdie lived a peaceful life enjoying the comforts of her cozy town and doing volunteer photography work for her local newspaper. However, her home was among the first to go during the resurgence of the Eggman Empire, with Birdie’s family barely escaping before their town was bulldozed to the ground. They found their way to New Mobotropolis, refugees seeking haven in the fortified city, and began to build a new life there with the hope they could stay out of further danger.

Though Birdie was heartbroken at the loss of her home, she fell into the rhythm of the city quickly, following her passion for photography to one of New Mobotropolis’s news stations. Despite her skill with a camera, Birdie was only offered an intern position at the station, with many of the more experienced photographers and reporters dismissing her over her being only 15 at the time. She begrudgingly accepted, convinced she would be able to eventually climb the ladder.

While her hard work at the station over the next two years did pay off and earn her a bit more recognition and respect, Birdie still faced belittlement for her age and supposed lack of experience from her superiors. So when she saw the flyers around town asking for volunteers to become the new Freedom Fighters, it sounded like the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone. She already wanted some payback against the empire for destroying her hometown, but getting the scoop of a century covering the rise of the next generation of Freedom Fighters? There was no way she could turn down an opportunity like that!

Personality:
Though notorious for being a scatterbrain, Birdie is an earnest, optimistic, and somewhat ambitious girl who sees through any task she sets her mind to. She’s very friendly, most people who interact with her finding her easy to talk to and get along with, though she’s been known to have a mischievous streak—along with the occasional prank, if the opportunity presents itself, she won’t hesitate to snap a picture out of context for a little bit of blackmail down the line.

Birdie is known to be somewhat prideful of her abilities, growing frustrated if people belittle or underestimate her, though she doesn’t make a habit of flaunting her talents—she’s confident, not self-centered. Her stubbornness and somewhat brazen attitude can sometimes get her in over her head, but she’s usually able to keep her thoughts clear even through panic and stress.

Powers:
  • Powerful Legs: As a jackrabbit, Birdie’s legs are incredibly strong, able to deliver kicks powerful enough to break stone. This strength also begets sturdiness, allowing her to withstand falling from great heights—so long as she lands on her feet
  • Fast Runner: Birdie is able to run at high speeds, easily passing 70 mph. However, as she still has difficulty managing her stamina, these sprints can only be in short bursts before she becomes exhausted
  • High Jump: Birdie’s powerful legs give her the ability to jump exceptionally high, though at the moment she lacks much skill in controlling her jump arcs…
  • Keen Eye: A natural perceptiveness compounded by years of practice in photography has given Birdie a fine eye for detail and superb observational skills, making reconnaissance and surveillance work a cinch for her
  • Quick Reflexes: Birdie is very agile and possesses a keen reaction time, allowing her to snake her way out of danger with little effort
  • Equipment- Camera: Birdie carries two top-of-the-line cameras with her at all times
Why They Want to Be a Freedom Fighter:
While getting an eyewitness account of the next generation of Freedom Fighters is definitely front-page material for any newspaper this side of Mobius, Birdie does genuinely want to do her part in putting a stop to the Eggman Empire. Getting a little fame and recognition for her work is definitely extra incentive, but protecting her home is what she really cares about.

Extra Info:
  • Birdie keeps a running record of her highest jump, her fastest speed, and her longest high-speed run time, which are, respectively, 55 feet, 90 mph, and, embarrassingly to her, three minutes
  • Birdie has a secret spot in the city where she goes to cool off when she’s frustrated—an abandoned hotel on the outskirts of town. The silence and privacy is great for clearing her head, and there’s something about the old-timey vibe of the place that just makes her feel comfortable
  • She actually found the flyer for the new Freedom Fighters not far from this special place
  • Birdie has been taking photos since she was four years old and got her hands on her father’s camera; she became somewhat notorious growing up for her habit of taking unflattering pictures of her relatives to mess with them, though many of those photos are treasured by her family today for their candidness
  • Birdie has a bad habit of being late for things, but most people aren’t aware of this due to her speed saving her by seconds
