Nation Name: Britania
Religion, if any: The Order of the Holy Cog: The largest religion by far in the nation, with the majority of the population adhering to it, The Order of the Holy Cog (or the Cog church, in layman's terms) believes that the world was created by a being known as The Gear Well, which breathed life and curiosity into humans and gave them the sacred goal of collecting all the knowledge they can in an attempt to understand the universe's secrets and ascend to a from of godhood of their own. They value intelligence and scientific endeavors over everything, and scientists are viewed with respect, being seen as priests in a way.
Backstory/Lore: The Britanian city states, made up entirely of humans, was a somewhat tense place to say the least for several hundred years, being home to dozens of independent cities and hundreds of towns who constantly were occupied by other forces. The one true unifying force was The Order of the Holy Cog; even then, this only prevented outright religious wars. However, in the year 237 OCG (of our Cog), the eastern city states reported terrible news; hordes of barbarous monsters had started to invade, laying waste to the land and enslaving anyone they could find. Forced to unite to survive, Britania quickly united in an effort to defend their sovereignty from Cogless heathens. They quickly started an arms race in order to minimize causalities and fight back the savage hordes, gradually expanding east as their weapons and industrial tech grew. First they reclaimed their lost land, and finally started to occupy the vast, untamed wilderness of the interior of Groles by the year 340 OCG. A combination of population growth caused by the strives in technology made since the war began, a religious motive to explore the unknown, and simple want for material gain has started a sort of land rush, a race to the east of the continent in an attempt to finally civilize Groles and show the natives the light of The Gear Well.

Yellow near the bottom is me.
Government Type: Representative democracy where cities and towns elect leaders who run local affairs; these leaders then elect a larger parliament who perform national functions and lawmaking. The parliament elects a President every eight years based on a majority voting system (the candidate who gets the majority wins); anyone who has served in parliament for ten years or more can be nominated for President. The President commands the military and has the ability to veto any act Parliament passes, forcing Parliament to have a second vote; if the act passes again, it is forced through.
Military: The Britanian military has access to primitive smokeless powder, which is (relatively) much more stable than blackpowder but only offers a small increase in power. However, it is much cleaner (relatively) than blackpowder, allowing basic automatic weaponry to be developed. They also have access to primitive cartridge rounds.

50 Henry Repeating Gatling Guns
100 12 pounders
20 32 pounders
Weapons:
Jezebel 325 Repeater
Eight round tube capacity, lever action, .44 Henry Round
The Jezebel Repeater is the standard issue rifle for Britanian troops, utilizing a smokeless powder mix to increase power and reliability over previous muzzle loaders. It uses an ingenious new type of bullet known as a cartridge, which is a self containing round that has both projectile and propellant in one easy to load shell. The Jezebel also features a special tube that can be reloaded easily and quickly, letting it hold an astounding eight rounds. The lever action is reliable and easy to work, giving the Jezebel unprecedented infantry level firepower.
Harrier Six Gun
Six round cylinder, single action, 12mm pinfire
The Harrier Six gun is a light sidearm issued mainly to cavalry and officers for their small and threatening frame. Each cartridge is inserted manually, but the ability to carry multiple and its ease of use make it a formidable weapon in close quarters.
Troop Types:
Soldier: The soldier is the basis of the Britanian ground forces; these are the men who charge into action, firing their rifle and over taking enemy lines.
Equipment:
Jezebel rifle
Pouches with 70 rounds
Uniform
One day of rations and water
Bayonet
(Officers are granted a Harrier with 18 rounds as well)
Cavalry: The fast attack unit of the Britanian military, cavalry are the bane of artillery and troops caught in the open.
Equipment:
Carbine variant of the Jezebel, with a cut down barrel and stock at the expense of having a five round capacity.
Easy access pouch with 40 rounds
Harrier with 24 rounds in easy access pouch
Cavalry saber
Uniform:
Two days of rations and water
Artillery:
Henry Repeating Gatling gun
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatling_gun#/media/File:Gatling_gun.jpg
200 round magazine, crank action, .44 Henry Round
This marvel of military force allows a small team of men to have the firepower of dozens, suppressing infantry and ripping apart formations of savages and soldiers alike. While needing to be carried over long distances by a team of horses and quite finicky, the Henry Repeating Gatling gun is a major force on the battlefield.
Johanson 12 Pounder
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CW_Arty_M1857_Napoleon_front.jpg
4.62 inch bore, breech loading howitzer
Another example of Britanian might, the Johanson is a light howitzer capable of firing explosive shells to smash enemy fortifications as well as cartridge rounds to decimate savage hordes. Drawn by horse over large distances, it is light enough for a crew to move it during battle, allowing it to support troops as they advance.
Johanson 32 pounder
6.41 inch bore, breech loading heavy howitzer
A monster of artillery, the Johanson 32' rips apart fortifications with its powerful shells. It requires a team of 8 horses to drag, making it one of the heaviest field pieces used by the Britanians.
Navy:
4 River Steamers
A light steamboat propelled by a steam driven motor, it is lightly equipped with a 12 inch howitzer on a swivel turret and two gatling guns on the bow and rear of the ship. Not intended for deep sea work, but it can function in coastal regions and rivers.
Leader & Leader Personality:
Lucas Thomas
A hard working man of 5'11 and 48 years of age, Thomas was a renowned officer in the Eastern exploratory corps for some time before being elected to the parliament. Elected into presidency at the age of 46 in 338 OCG, Thomas promised to open up more eastern land for colonization and expand national infastructure so that everyone can see the great nation of Britania. He is somewhat cold and distant from others, being absorbed by his work, and all of his public appearances are heavily choreographed by his advisors. However, he is still a true and honest patriot at heart, dedicated to helping Britania thrive for at least eight more years.
Other:
Population: Around nine million, due to a jump in population growth caused by advances in farming technology. It entirely consists of humans, and the only non-humans that the people of Britania know of are the savage orcs and goblins to the east.
Most transportation is still done by horse or foot, but some of the more developed interior regions and industrial cities have decent rail infastructure. Every major city is connected via telegraph, and some of the larger eastern cities have a connection to the capital.
A thriving capitalist spirit is active throughout the entire nation, a side effect of the freedom of intellectual thought; everyone has something they want to sell or patent!
Fish and other seafoods are quite popular in the coastal regions; the more interior grasslands have a thriving pastry business based on honeyed sweets and breads.
Have your repeater rifle fire only one shot then you're good, also no smokeless powder and no automatic guns. This is up to 1871 remember?
I can fix the repeating rifle, but no can do on the automatic guns. The first gatling guns were used in the 1860's, during the Civil War, so they fall nicely into the given tech level.
I mean infantry guns. I know Gatling Guns were invented in 1860, hell i have them.
I don't have any automatic infantry guns...?
Okay then you're good. Just no smokeless powder and multi-round repeating rifles and you're accepted.

The Empire of the Sun
Religion, if any
Pantheon
Backstory/Lore
The Empire of the Sun was born out of dozens of warring tribes tribes millenia ago, in a time that has been forgotten and faded to mere legend. The stories vary from a group of independent nations banding together to defeat a superior invading force or accomplish some monumental task to a warlord uniting the tribes by force. Regardless of whatever the true story may be, the Empire flourished and grew strong and wealthy.
The Empire of the Sun had worshiped the Sun for millenia, and thought of themselves as the rightful heirs of the gods, which is how the Empire came to be known as such. They also feared and worshiped the dragons that terrorized the land. Dragons and their images became deeply ingrained in their culture, they took the image of a dragon on their flag as a sign of respect to these great and mighty beasts. Several centuries ago, missionaries from a distant land brought the Pantheon and its numerous gods with them to the ports of the Empire. The new religion quickly spread throughout the Empire and eventually became the official religion. The Empire adopted Sol'Rah as its patron deity, and built temples all around the nation to commemorate him.
The emperor rules from the capital, Taiyang Cheng, at source of the Great River. This was where the Imperial Palace is located, as well as by far the largest city. Almost a quarter of the country's population lives in the city and its surroundings, and over half live within the province and surrounding ones. This is the industrial heartland of the Empire, and the Great River and the ports along its banks serve as the major connection to the outside world, through which trade, goods, ideas, and information flows.
The rest of the population is spread out throughout the rest of the Empire, largely focused on agriculture and mining. Goods are transported within the Empire along the Imperial Road, a massive series of rail lines and highways capable of transferring materials, troops, and supplies from Taiyang to the Grand Lakes in the east in a matter of days. The Imperial Road is the Empire's bloodstream, connecting the farms in the east to the population centres in the west.
The ruler of the Empire of the Sun is the Sun Emperor, appointed by divine mandate to rule the Empire and all its myriad peoples. The Emperor is appointed by the previous ruler, and they have always appointed their eldest son as Emperor. A single family has held power for over a millennium. The Zheng dynasty, as it was called, controlled every aspect of the government and many nobles despise the family for holding such a monopoly on power, but are unable to do much since most are still loyal to the family through generous gifts, bribes, coercion, and even outright blackmail.
Viewing themselves as being blessed by the God of the Sun and Fire, the Imperial Army and Imperial Navy pride themselves on their mastery of fire as a weapon. They armed their ships and troops with cannons that shot tongues of flame over 40 feet away, devices that launched fireballs many miles away and incinerated anybody unlucky enough to be caught in the blast radius, potions that could burn even under water, liquids that could set fire to stone upon contact, and even the basic weapons are forged in ovens fueled by fires hot enough to melt the strongest steel in 5 minutes.
The pride of the navy are 2 Dragon Ships, 300 feet in length, powered by steam, with armor that was nearly impervious to cannon fire and could survive even the hottest fires from Imperial Pyromancers, and armed with 60 cannons (which were compatible with both regular cannons and the special imperial fire cannons) on either side, 4 cannons at the front and back, and a dragon's head that served as a chimney for the steam engine and as a way to spread thick, poisonous smog that obscured the enemy's vision and incapacitated their crew, they were fearsome terrors of the sea that have never seen defeat.

Sun Emperor Zheng Hen is a young and well-liked leader who has been newly crowned as Emperor. However, he is weak willed and almost totally under the control of his wife, Sun Empress Zheng Hong. Anything she wished to happen would be made to happen, be it the exile of a courtier she disliked or the passing of a law. She was largely disliked by the nobility and the people alike, due to her arbitrary policies and unsubtle eliminations of anybody who could threaten her power.

Backstory/Lore:
Many a year ago, before the age of powder and cannon, a savage war was waged. What was then the Conclave of Alhstrem fought to free itself from the Empire of Aritaur. The Conclave had felt oppressed under the tyrannical rule of Queen Aritaur IV. For hundreds of years rune crafting had been used as a symbol of power and wealth. Soon, one family with more wealth than all, assembled an army to force those beneath them to conform or die. Thus the Empire of Aritaur was born.
This empire was composed of not only the Conclave but the surrounding Western and Southern provinces as well. The Conclave, made up of primarily inland core provinces didn't share the same desire for wealth or power as the coastal provinces did. After years too many to count, they finally came to blows against each other culminating in a civil war.
The Conclave fought a desperate war of attrition. Fighting to defend every inch of soil that they would eventually lose. They did not have the numbers or the strength, manpower or economic, that Aritaur had. After many of the core provinces had been ransacked and looted, they were forced to resort to what many considered to be unhonorable tactics. The Conclave fought back by destroying cities and economic centers for the empire. The result wasn't immediate, but over the course of 6 years, the empire began to feel the strain.
After a commander going by the name of Blackthorne made a number of decisive military victories over the Empire, the conclave had all but secured victory. The cost however was great. Hundreds of thousands had been killed in this civil war and much of the infrastructure across the Conclave had been destroyed. After Blackthorne led a march on the capital of the Empire, Gaelena. They put up stiff resistance as slowly the walls fell. However, instead of taking the city Blackthorne mad the decision to burn it instead. With only a moments warning to those inside, massive fires began to appear all around the edge of the city. Blackthorne then immediate turned the army around and returned home. The Empire would fall in the coming days, turning from a great power into nothing more than city states warring with each other.
Thus the Conclave began to start a new, and for that they sought the help of the ruler of the region. That ruler happened to be the dragon Escana. With Escana's help they were able to gain wisdom and resolve. They reformed the government into a republic. With this major change they decided to change the way they spelt Alhstrem. Soon the Conclave became the Republic of Alestrom. The focused their efforts on rebuilding their infrastructure and economic station. They were rewarded within twenty years as they revitalized their road network. Steam power, newly discovered at the time, was getting refined further. Money was taken away from the military and into research for new technologies and into the infrastructure of Alestrom.
The military slowly downsized as well, as peace was largely achieved. A force of 200,000 was maintained for border defense as incursions by the city states was common. An era of economic prosperity came to Alestrom for a period of time. 90 years would pass before a stark realization would hit home.
At a time when the military was downsizing yet again, a handful of leaders saw the writing on the walls. For all their economic grace they were weak by all standards. This was to the point that even city states were better equipped and had better armed forces than Alestrom. With Generals supporting, five leaders undertook a massive campaign both in the chambers of the representatives and in public to get this issue in light. Soon, news would come of a powerful neighbor with mighty ambition. One they would not be able to stand up to; even for a day. What had taken several years to get going finally came to fruition as the gears of the war industry started running.
Factories built up during their highly prosperous industrial revolution were turned over to arms manufacturing. There were mass recruitment drives to refill the ranks of the military. The military was no longer something people did to get off the street; it was full of honor, duty, strength, and glory. Soon, whole fields had to be converted into training grounds as the meager military numbers swelled greatly. Money was poured into a new form of transportation, the steam locomotive. Getting far ahead of schedule, the train network connection every major city together across the whole country. With bigger and stronger locomotives being created each month.
Soon, the military under the leadership of a descendant of the original General Blackthorne was back into fighting shape. She reorganized the military and lead the organization into the research for many of the weapons and tactics that would be employed if they were every attacked by their aggressive neighbors. To ensure they would not have to deal with competition between the manufactures, they made contracts with each. For those in the infantry their weapons would be made by Umberhawk Industries, Arenthian Military Technology, and and Zylph Arms Manufacturing. On the waves, the men and women could rely on Rheika Drydocks and Carvath Shipyards to build steadfast ships. For the brave men who would take to the sky could rely on the keen eye of Raven Aeronautical to keep them safe.
The final major reorganization that both General Blackthorne herself and Chancellor Bladis worked on was the reintroduction of runic weapons. They had been a strong force on the battlefield long ago. As such a portion of each section of the infantry would have a portion be turned into runic weapons. The practice of Runecrafting became much less taboo than it had, but still many would not practice it.
The Republic of Alestrom rises stronger than before, looking outward for the first time in over one hundred years. They are ready to face the challenges of the world and those who wish to challenge them.

Leader & Leader Personality:
Chancellor Frederick Bladis
Chancellor Fredrick Bladis is a strong leader who served in the military of Alestrom. He distinguished himself fighting off incursions from the city-states. He quickly flew up the ranks earning 2 medals for valor along the way. It would all end however, when he receives a bad injury to his knee, ending his military career; at least on the ground. He does a short stint as a Griffon scouter till he accepts a promotion from his old commander to General of the Hammer of Gladium.
In the coming years he would rise through the political ranking and find himself elected as head of the Republic, a chair that is served for 10 years a term. He is a man of Iron will with a stout heart. However, he has a keen understanding for soft words and knows how to use them. Often called a natural politician for his grace in subduing his political opponents. He gets annoyed at those who would rather dance around the issue than get straight to the point.

Steam Locomotive is the fastest from of transport available with railway lines extending to every province.
Has a strong industrial sector
Primarily has corn and wheat for crops
Runic weapons work a variety of ways depending on the rune(s) placed.
Water, Fire, Lightning, Air can be fired for example out of a rifle. While stone walls may have earth runes in them to strengthen them. Soldiers and medics may have health runes carved into metal that they wear to help their vitality.
"Across the lands kingdoms rise and fall, pacts and alliances are forged while those who go by sword bleed. Most fail while others prosper, this is the game in which those who know rise to power. Whether it be on the floor of a court or in the chamber, every action is calculated and thought out. Politics is the name of the game, and those who master it master all. "
Those Dragon ships are a bit OP. "Nearly impervious to cannonfire" would mean an entire navy would have to take them down. Also the amount they are armed with is way to much for an Ironclad. Remember Ironclads were just being used in moderate numbers in 1871, let alone them being armed that much. I repsect you nations has an affinity for fire, but tone it down a bit. Otherwise this would happen: "Everything changed when the fire nation attacked." Also give specifics of your army, don't be vague and just give numbers.
The impervious to cannonfire thing was meant as embellishment, they're not actually impervious. So, what would be a more appropriate number of guns for it?
Amd I fell asleep while typing out the troops stuff. I'll fill that out in a couple hours. Like this

Well when people look at this CS they are gonna think otherwise. And around 10 to 14 cannons is good.
Thanks, I'll go do some quick fixes first then work on the troops\ stuff.

Nation Name:Union of the Khajiit
Religion, if any:
he Khajiit creation myth includes references to powerful ancestor cats with strikingly familiar names.[2] Their legends start with the original litter mates, Ahnurr and Fadomai (Anu and Padomay). These two gave birth to all of the great spiritual children, including Alkosh the first cat (Akatosh), Khenarthi (Kynareth), Magrus (Magnus), Mara, and S'rendarr (Stendarr). A second litter of children soon followed, including Merrunz (Mehrunes Dagon), Mafala (Mephala), and Sangiin (Sanguine), among others. Ahnurr did not want further children, but Fadomai was persuaded by her elder children to birth one more litter, this final group containing Azurah (Azura), Nirni (Nirn), and the moons. At this, Ahnurr became angry at Fadomai, who fled to the void, and birthed one last child, Lorkhaj (Lorkhan). Fadomai knew she was dying, her life having been drained by her birth, but she gave to Nirni a gift, that she would birth children of her own.[3]
Nirni went to Lorkhaj, asking him to form a dwelling place for her children. This he did, but he tricked his siblings, forming the mortal plane and trapping many of them there with him. Most of Fadomai's first litter were trapped, while her second litter saw the danger and fled. Into this dwelling, Nirni birthed many children, the various human and mer races of Tamriel. However, one of Fadomai's children, Azurah, had also been given a gift by their mother. She was given permission to take one of Nirni's children, and reshape them to her own liking, so long as she made them the fastest, cleverest, and most beautiful of all creatures. Azurah chose a group of forest dwellers among Nirni's children, and from them, she formed the Khajiit. Nirni was furious at this, and asked her sibling Y'ffer to punish the Khajiit. He defied this demand, which, in the Khajiit eyes. The Khajiit, however, were protected by Azurah, who taught them the secret of the moons (the Lunar Lattice in Khajiiti terms), and how to change their shapes to survive.
Backstory/Lore:
The Khajiit are a race that seems to be old as the land itself, and old enough to evolve into sub-species ranging from tigers as tall as three men, to bipeds 7 ft tall...
The simple history is this: the Khajiit were a seperated race, until 1,000 years ago when the first Mane (the Khajiit Holy Person, born only on a complete Solar Eclipse, united the tribes under the fist Khajiit Union. An age of prosperity ensued as the Khajiiti Cultire flew high, and the Scientific Age started...
600 Years ago the Khajiit were invaded by a reptilian race called the "Argonians", out of the Northern Swamps, and invaded... But after a Civil War lasting 200 years, the Khajiit managed to take back all land, and exterminate almost the entire Argonian Race, taking thier land aswell.

The pride of the navy are 2 Dragon Ships, 300 feet in length, powered by steam, with armor that was nearly impervious to cannon fire and could survive even the hottest fires from Imperial Pyromancers (or so it was claimed), and armed with 5 cannons (which were compatible with both regular cannons and the special imperial fire cannons) on either side, 2 cannons at the front and back, and a dragon's head that served as a chimney for the steam engine and as a way to spread thick, poisonous smog that obscured the enemy's vision and incapacitated their crew, they were fearsome terrors of the sea that have never seen defeat.

Leader & Leader Personality
Sun Emperor Zheng Hen is a young and well-liked leader who has been newly crowned as Emperor. However, he is weak willed and almost totally under the control of his wife, Sun Empress Zheng Hong. Anything she wished to happen would be made to happen, be it the exile of a courtier she disliked or the passing of a law. She was largely disliked by the nobility and the people alike, due to her arbitrary policies and unsubtle eliminations of anybody who could threaten her power.
